Blanco Blanco, you were quite the surprise. Years ago, I frequently passed this structure but never bothered to go inside. Why? The building looks more like a WWII bunker than anything else, which had me questioning a place that dedicated itself to style. I continued to travel around the town in an attempt to find that perfect spot to get a haircut, never considering Blanco Blanco in my pursuit. I tried independents, mall salons, and even the home of the $4 haircut. No matter where it was, I was never satisfied with the final result. You get what you pay for. As I was talking to a group of people about the issue, a wise friend of mine told me to try out Blanco Blanco. He told me about his stylist, and even showed me a picture of her in our local magazine. I took his advice and booked an appointment with a lady named Rochelle. I drove up to the building a week later, but was still feeling hesitant. I walked through the front door, and all of my hesitation vanished immediately. The outside appearance of this building does not reflect its inner beauty. Wooden floors, nice furniture, clean sinks, no fluorescent lights (it sets the mood), and of course, beautiful women. And for the chocolate lovers, they have free candy as well. I met Rochelle, and immediately had a good feeling. What makes a stylist credible is if she herself has good hair and style. Rochelle exceeded both of my qualifications. She sat me down at her station, which is conveniently located right next to the window (both artificial AND natural light, a big bonus). I told her a general idea of what I was going for, and away she went. Unlike most stylists, she doesn't prioritize talking over her job. Rochelle concentrates on your hair first, and if you have anything to talk about, she'll gladly talk back. All too often have I had a lady start whining about her boyfriend or other irrelevant issues, and butcher my hair in the process. That doesn't happen with Rochelle. That's what makes her stand out to me, she's so much different than your average stylist. Besides her demeanor, her haircuts are also first-rate. She takes her time, but doesn't have you get to the point where you start checking your watch. I think she realizes that if she does a great job, I essentially become a walking billboard for her business. This girl knows what she's doing. Once I started to care about how my hair looked, I was never satisfied with the results until I met Rochelle. I loved my first haircut so much, I went back to her AGAIN. This is not something that I do often, but this lady had me sold. The first time I gave her a general idea of what I wanted, she did great. The second time we met, I gave her a more specific idea of what I wanted, and she did great. Rochelle, I finally found the girl of my dreams (for haircuts). You've got a customer for life. And yeah, she's worth the $30. As I said before, you get what you pay for. But in this case, you're getting the greatest deal in town.
