Carly is my favorite stylist and has an amazing technique. She always listens to what I say and executes it correctly. She cuts it in a way that grows out nicely, which is important because my hair grows so fast. I highly recommend her!!

I kinda knew what I wanted when I went but I wasn't 100% sure. Katie gave me exactly what i had envisioned without much direction, it was my first time putting any color in my hair and she took the time to work on me, so it was a good experience. THIS PLACE IS AWFUL!!!!!!! I was getting my haircut when a few workers started talking behind another workers back. They said the most disgusting things about her, right in front of all these costumers! They were saying this lady woke up and see spiders crawling out of her vagina. That is absolutely disgusting. I go to get my hair cut for some relaxation and when these people start saying those things is so unprofessional and plain disgusting!!! on top of it all, my hair turned out exactly how I DID NOT ask for!!!!

Coming from a bigger city, I was nervous to visit a salon in a smaller town. I was sure that no one would ever compare to my hairdresser from home. I was absolutely wrong. After one visit, I will never go anywhere else. I always come out looking exactly as I had hoped I would (which is an incredible feat for any hairdresser). The people at The Upper Cut go above and beyond to deliver results. One time, Katie B. stayed half an hour after closing with me to perfect my new dark blonde hair. Perhaps the most distinguishing feature of this salon is that the people are there to give you what YOU want, not what they think you should have. I have visited other salons in Mount Pleasant where it is very clear that their ideas and opinions are more important than mine. At Upper Cuts, my opinion and ideas are the only thing that matters and I truly appreciate that.

Went for coloring today. Got there at 1215 left there after 6 PM. Just wanted some low lights and high lights some gray coverage. My hair turned purple from toner they used...after having things put in my hair to pull color out, having it colored again, I ended up with no highlights, my head hurting from so much chemical processing and my whole day blown from sitting in a chair. The girl who did my hair was nice and offered to have me come back and fix it...as if I have that kind of time, or trust that it won't happen again . Thanks but no thanks will not be going back....UPDATE my hair is falling out ..I have so much breakage from this and hair is so damaged it will take months for it to get better. Had to go and have inches taken off because it is so damaged. If your going to have a hair salon hire people who know what there doing!!! Charged me 110 to boot to kill my hair!!

I was nervous at first to get my hair done somewhere else while being away at school and I loved Upper Cuts work so much I only get my hair done here now and not my salon at home! Went to salon because it was highly recommend. First 2 trips were awesome. Third trip was terrible. Only half of my hair ( never touched my bangs)was cut and no products were put in to help style it. My stylist got frustrated because it would not curl (hence needing product) and basically just quit trying. I ended up leaving and looking worse then when I went it. All the employees were having more fun joking around then working. Here's a clue, when the Boss/Owner is away the mice will play.

The Upper Cut is truly a friendly place with a very qualified staff. The work they have done with me is Outstanding, always listening to my wishes and making certain that I am happy. I have had the opportunity to have color, cuts and highlights and it always turns out great! Also they offer waxing which is amazing...from simple brows to complex Brazilian bikini. I went here for a perm years back. They did the test strip and everything went fine, but when they permed my hair it didn’t set. I waited the appropriate 48 hours before washing out my hair, but even before that time it started to go flat. I tried everything from using salon brand shampoos and conditioners for perms and different styling products and techniques, nothing worked. Just a faulty perm.

Bridget prepped and curled my hair for a wedding and was awful. She was so irritated the whole time I was in the chair, I know I have extremely thick, coarse hair but it was ridiculous. She continued to pull my hair the whole time she curled it. Des finished out my updo and it looked absolutely fabulous! She definitely saved my day.
