I got a shampoo/blow dry/trim a few weeks ago and waited a bit to assess the versatility of my hairstyles and the ease of styling compared to what I was experiencing with my 4b/4c hair before coming into Simply Erinn’s before I did this review. First, the service was unlike anything I’d ever experienced. My stylist, Ranea, was so informative. She told me exactly what she was doing, the purpose behind it, and tips on taking care of my hair at home. When it came to the trimming part, Ranea showed me where it was best to cut my hair and asked me if I was comfortable cutting it. I hadn’t trimmed my hair in over a year, and I am more concerned with the health of my hair over the length of it, so I had to get quite a lot taken off. My hair reverted to its coils with no signs of heat damage from the blow dry (which is important to me because prior to this salon, I had two heat damage experiences at a different salon.) Post-service, my hair is a lot easier to detangle and my styles (twist outs, puffs, etc) look really nice because my ends are healthy. I’ve been getting compliments left and right, but most importantly, I think the trim and layers suit me. I was given a hand-written home care regimen to follow, so my curl definition has been POPPIN. The only critique I have is the cost of my service. As a student, money is always tight and while I enjoyed the first-timer 20% off discount, I don’t think I’d be able to return to the salon as often as advised for follow up services. I do think a reasonable student discount program would be nice. Overall, I enjoyed the friendly staff and the service. I’d return after saving up for another visit and natural hair ladies and gents should consider it!
