Peter has been giving me the most magnificent haircut since 1987. And all of the ladies and men who have Peter's colleagues cut their hair look great as they walk in and out past my chair. Peter devotes his full attention and great charm and bracing humor to keep the experience lively and provide me with a continuously handsome haircut. The entire staff is so polite and friendly and accommodating and there's no pretentiousness, just real lovely people and great coiffure.

My wife and I have had a few haircuts here and always been very happy with the results. The people are friendly and un-pretentious, but totally pro. Definitely the best haircut I got along the whole stretch from Porter to Harvard Squares. Bonus: if you're lucky enough to have an appointment on a Saturday, you might find a delicious offering from Mike's Pastries :) Edit: I just remembered that he never even asked me what kind of haircut I wanted! Once we established that I wanted a "good amount" taken off, he set straight to work and like I said, the result was better than I could have described anyway.

I see Dana, formerly of M salon, who does magic with curly hair of all lengths. The result is a low maintenance style that doesn't suffer too much if you can't get it redone every 6 weeks. The salon itself is a true local business and has many services. It's not at all posh.

This is a review for Dana! I have hair that cannot decide what it is, some straight and some curly. But Dana makes it beautiful. AND he makes it easy to style. Dana listens to your needs and wishes, then arrives at a low maintenance and no fuss cut. Dana does not solve cuts with products, rather with his diligent and meticulous technique. Dana gives you a cut that grows out beautifully; almost to a fault as you do not get to see Dana enough because the cut last so long. I am continually grateful for having found Dana and wish you all the same.

I just called to set up an appointment and was yelled at!!! Can you believe it? Peter answered the phone, "this must be YELP!" What do you want!?" When I didn't respond at first because I was thrown off he yelled at me and threatned me that I better tell him who I was .. I WOULD NEVER speak to anyone calling me on a business line like that. Imagine trying to dispute a bad hair cut with this guy?

Not sure what the deal is with the person who answered my call. First, scheduled the apt, then sent me away when I refused to have my hair cut before treatment. I guess he wants to do his "art" his way, not the way the client requests.
