I am so happy I found this place! I usually go to a much more expensive hair salon in the Crofton area, but was finding that my needs weren't being met there. I found Xtreme hair online, and since I wasn't too happy with my last cut, I decided to call to schedule. After telling the receptionist (who was super sweet and helpful btw) my needs, she was able to fit me in same day with Ashley, a senior stylist there. I was really nervous going in, because I've had hair disasters before, but something told me to just go with it. I couldn't be happier in my decision to visit this salon! Ashley was not only professional and knowledgeable, but she was extremely confident and understanding of my requests. She knew exactly what to do with my hair, and I trusted her every step of the way. She took the time to communicate with me throughout, which I appreciated bc most stylists just do their own thing. If you are looking for a salon that has trained stylists who stay up to date, listen to their clients, and provide affordable pricing, this is the place!

So I got my hair cut here for the first time and was thrilled! Libby did an amazing job on my hair! She listened to what I wanted and went to work. I think this may be the BEST haircut I have ever received!! Today, 6 days later, it is just as easy as can be to get it styled as I like it. I have short, thick hair and it really shows when a cut is not great. I am so relieved and happy to have found her (and it's close to my home, too!) I will definitely be back!!! Thank you, Libby!!

I had the perfect stylist 10 years ago, then he left. Bounced around for a while and found another, then she left. Now again I've been searching for about 5 years. If I show a picture of what I want, that's because the model looks amazing, it doesn't mean I will look amazing in that cut. Styling hair is not what I do, that's what I pay the stylist to do. I've been searching for someone who can look at me and cut my hair so I look good. Nicki Janezeck styled my hair on Feb 2nd and I look great!!! Thank you Nicki!

I've been thinking about how I wanted to do this for a while, and I even considered not saying anything but I have to. First let me start out by saying that I really like this salon and that's why I gave it five stars, and please know that I do not hold the actions of one stylist against this place. Last Friday, August 10th, I called to make an appointment for a bang trim. I had gotten my hair trimmed at this salon before and it was a good experience so I trusted them. They got me an appointment with an apprentice, Holly. I went in and Holly gave me a fantastic trim! Seriously, I really liked it. Then Holly told me she had to go get her mentor to check her work. And that's where it went bad. Holly went to get her mentor, I believe her name was Kayleigh, but I'm not sure as she didn't introduce herself when she came by or really get to know what I was looking for for my hair. She asked, but then cut me off and started cutting into my bangs once she heard that I wanted "swoopy" bangs (the words sway bangs for some reason had escaped my brain). Immediately the smile that had been there when Holly had finished disappeared as the bangs I have worked so hard to teach to do what I want were chopped off. My bangs are an inch long now. I have spent years training my bangs to cover my forehead (as I'm super self conscious about it) and get a really lovely streak of pink to go through them perfectly. And in less than a minute all of that was gone. And not even well. The cut was choppy and completely uneven. I literally had to ask the woman to "please, just stop cutting my hair" to which she looked flabbergasted and offended. We spoke for a moment where she admitted that she didn't really know what I wanted and that Holly had said that she was worried that she had cut my hair too short, which apparently her reaction was to chop more of my hair off. I sat there in tears while this woman tried to justify her actions, blame it on me, and chuckle. It was embarassing and crushing to watch this woman chuckle while I was crying in her chair. Finally I got the words out to ask her to please go get me a different stylist. Also, I should mention that Holly had gone to speak to several others in the salon about what her mentor was doing to my hair. The other stylist appeared and seemed appalled. I explained what was happening and this poor woman who had been brought in to try to save my experience. She immediately apologized (to which I told her it wasn't her fault) and helped me try to figure out how to style my hair in a way that would hide the debacle that was now sticking straight out from my head looking like a horrific mullet. Our only option was to hide them until they grow back. But now, I am stuck with terrible bangs that I have to slick straight back until they grow out, and keeping my forehead on display until they grow back. I also lost the pink streaks in my bangs to the clippers of this woman and a lot of my self confidence due to having to sit in a salon with tears streaming down my face while this woman chuckled. The salon comped my $8 bang trim but I made sure to tip Holly on my way out as she had done her job and had done it well before her mentor messed it up. I really like this salon, but I was so heartbroken by this experience that I have no idea what to do. My hair is messed up until it grows back and I have to go to work (where they have been making fun of my bangs since) and have a photoshoot (I'm having to change the layout to hide the massacre) before they will grow back. I miss my hair and my streaks. And will never trust that woman with my bangs ever again, if I even can summon the courage to go back. Thank you to the salon for trying so hard to fix my hair, and thank you to Holly for an amazing trim. I am sorry I didn't get to show off your hard work.

I came in for my appointment and the stylist was rude. She came over and said they didn't book enough time to do my hair, and have me several excuses/reasons why she couldn't do my hair. She also suggested I get child care because I had my children with me. I would reconsider if you are thinking about visiting this salon. To your response: When I called to book the appointment I was told it would take an hour to an hour and a half, I had the girl in the phone confirm they the service I wanted was available, how long it would take and that it was ok to bring my children with me. I was told that would not be a problem, that you are family friendly and that does not seem to be the case. My 10 year old (the one you referred to as a toddler) is more then capable of supervising my 6 month old (not a newborn) and is a very mature and responsible for her age. Yes I feel the stylist was rude not only was she running a half hour late for my appointment but she just kept saying they didn't book enough time, your hair is very long, this isn't going to work, I can't do your hair.

I went in with 12 inch long hang and pictures of a drastic change I wanted. A short, tight pixie cut, something I had never done before. I was nervous, but I really had no reason to be. The people at Xtreme were encouraging and delightful, and the women who cut my hair, Nicki, did a fantastic job. She gave me exactly what I wanted, and constantly checked in to make sure it was going how I wanted. It was a fantastic experience and I look forward to going back in a few weeks for a trim!

So upset, my hair was not cut right asked for beach waves. After I discovered she parted my hair in the middle and cut for the middle. I part it on the side I have these little hairs sticking up when I part it in the on side At the end when I asked what about the curl she told me she did not have time, told me go buy a curling iron I could do it myself. I waited itwice when she cut other customers. I was not a walk in and I confirmed my appointment. Like a fool I gave her tip but I am very unhappy, I even texted that afternoon and never heard a word from anyone. I realize I am customer who is moving out of state but I should have given the style I had asked for or my bill should have not been full price.

This place was amazing! The service was wonderful! I got Carly and she was so patient and knowledgeable. I'd definitely recommend her. She helped me go from a dark dirty blonde to a nice and natural-like red appropriate for my work environment. They even offered me water or wine while I waited for my color to set. I decided to chop off my long hair and go super short. I am glad I decided to go here to do it. For my first visit I was a little worried about having someone who was fresh out of school but I’m SO glad I got Rebecca! I showed her a few things I liked and she said go for it and she shaved half my head! Haha. I have never gotten so many compliments on a hair cut in my entire life. I’ve since gone back 3 times and she is amazing. She takes her time, she listens to what I want and she has a great eye for making what I want or think I want (lol) even better. They are a little pricey so I try to make it every two mo the vs every month. I went somewhere else to try and save money and they just didn’t do what she did!

I had a poorly done short hair cut at a salon in Towson back in November and had tried to let it grow out, but it was getting into that unmanageable middle stage so I made an appointment through Xtreme Hair's website after looking through their stylists and choosing two who specialized in short hair. I received a prompt email back confirming my appointment, with an offer to add the appointment to my gmail calendar. I did that and so I was reminded of the appointment that morning as well. This made it easy for me to make it to the salon with plenty of time to look at the cut books. The salon is tucked away in one of the older shopping centers in Crofton, but you wouldn't know it when you step in to the warm, welcoming atmosphere of Xtreme Hair. There are two electric fireplaces to warm yourself (one in the front, one in the hair-washing room), a place to hang up your jacket, and comfy bench to sit while you wait. My hair was beautifully sculpted by Debbie. She took a minute to introduce herself and talk about what I wanted for my hair. She looked at two different pictures I had chosen out of the book and went with the one I liked best. She then took my request to have it "just a little longer in the back" and made sure to ask where I wanted the cut to end. I had brought my own wax and she used it when styling my hair. She did and AMAZING job!!! I was so pleased with the cut and even more pleased with the styling! I told her that it was the first time I had ever left a salon happy with the style and not racing back home to shower and style it myself. I would highly recommend Debbie or really any of the stylists. I was watching two other stylists work and Debbie had an apprentice watching her while she was cutting my hair. It seems to me that they take hair very seriously in that place.

Went for a major style change on my first visit. Got in right away for my appointment, no waiting. Rebecca did a wonderful job answering my questions and addressing my concerns. It was one step at a time with options and discussion the entire time to make sure I was happy with the cut I was getting. My stylist was patient and listened. Recommend for sure! Prices are reasonable. They don't allow tips to be added on to card transactions, cash or check only for tips.
