A previous stylist (at a different salon) completely messed up my hair (after 5 years!!) Cindy fixed the very bad cut. What I like best is that Cindy always teaches me how to make my hair do what I want- she takes the mystery out of maintaining a good look. I'm impressed. This salon specializes in curly hair.

If you’re looking for a refreshing salon experience in the Kensington area, I highly recommend stopping by Splash Salon. Splash is a truly unique blend of down-to-earth and ahead of its time. They provide an array of services, from cuts and color, to makeup, and even professional studio photography. They have a comprehensive website which is easy to navigate and provides all the details of their services. I have been visiting Splash since 2013, and have had the pleasure of working with Maddy. My visits typically include color and cut, and I’m wowed with the experience and my results every time. The colors are so complex and multi-dimensional it truly looks like a work of art. She is a woman of many talents, as she does makeup and, in addition to her father, does the photography. Maddy is also just a pleasure to work with. She’s easy to talk to, warm and bubbly, and knows her field well. I’ve come to her multiple times unsure of exactly what I wanted to do, and she took the time to make suggestions, pull up pictures, plan with me, and ultimately get me excited about the process. Splash is a gem of Kensington. This chic family salon is one not to be missed!

Cindy is just the best! I've got some years on me and over the years have had many really good hairdressers who have helped me manage my very straight, body-less hair. But Cindy is the best. She give me what my daughter calls "a cool old-lady" haircut, short, beautifully shaped and easy to maintain. No perms needed (my sensitive scalp thanks her). People actually stop me on the street to complement me -- one lady even hollered out from her car "nice haircut". Sometimes I pass men on the street and they say "your hair is really beautiful" -- all this and I'm in my 70"s! Plus Cindy is one of the most positive people I know, and everyone there is a joy to see. Wonderful hair care, pleasant environment, and reasonable prices. Cannot say enough good things about it:). I wish I didn't have to write this review, because the whole experience right up until the end was great. Cindy is a sweet woman and excellent conversationalist. She opened her salon early for me when I asked to make an appointment for a balayage so that I would be ready by midday for my sister's graduation. At the end of my appointment I was mostly pleased with the color and cut - it was a little grey, but I thought it was the lighting in the salon. But when I got home, the highlights had turned a shiny blueish gray, and I realized that she had not really given me balayage at all but just wide highlights from my roots. She basically left the toner in the whole time she was cutting my hair, so it turned my warm blonde hair totally silver, and the back is brown. When I called her upset she offered to fix it, but I live a long while from Kensington. I requested a partial refund for the expensive treatment, but she refused to provide one, and called it "my problem" that I couldn't travel back to Kensington. Disappointed in this response and customer service that I received.

I’ve been to SO many stylists at SO many different salons in the area — my experience with Maddy at Splash Salon was the best BY FAR! Maddy is fantastic! She REALLY understands how to cut and style curly hair and nailed my color the first time. She‘s a total professional, passionate about her trade and super sweet, as well. I appreciated the time she took to explain how to use the product she recommended and how to style my hair. I’d recommend Maddy to anyone but especially to men and women with curly hair.

I have been going to Splash for 4 years. Their staff very competent and provide an atmosphere where you feel like you are at home. Maddy and Cindy are exceptional hairstylist and Sandra is a super assistant. Finally, the prices are very reasonable and parking is convenient.

This is my new salon! As an older guy with a thick head of hair it's hard to get a good cut that doesn't make me look like I remember my Dad did! Cindy has great vision....I say leave it a little longer on top and thin it out and she does the rest. My wife loves the cuts I get from her. Great Salon experience too, very comfortable and professional.

I can't recommend Cindy and Splash enough. I went to Splash with one of the worst haircuts I've ever had - short story, a friend of a friend thought they could cut hair. I showed Cindy the picture of the cut I wanted and asked if she could fix it. She said, "no problem!" Not only did she cut my hair beautifully, she gave me highlights and truly made everything pop! I'm never going to anyone else again! I'm proud to be her "walking billboard!" Thanks, Cindy!

My 11 year old son was totally happy with his haircut at Splash. The stylist there gave him a very different haircut from the little boy barber shop haircut, and it suited him perfectly. These folks are really, really good at knowing what kids want and helping them look their best - from kid AND parent perspective. The haircut lasted quite a while -- looked good for several months.

As a guy who doesn't really take care of his hair I felt Alittle strange going in at first but right when I walked through the door the hair dresser Maddy Eisele was extreamly friendly and welcoming making me feel super comfortable! Not only was I very comfortable with the whole experience I got one of the best haircuts I have ever had! I continue to go there when ever I need anything done! Also the inside is a very relaxing atmosphere I would sit there all day if it meant relaxing there and chilling the awesome people who work there! I highly recommend it!

I have been coming to Splash since it opened. The products they use for color are very effective and gentle on my hair. Cindy is an expert colorist and has spent years perfecting her trade. DAYUM! I went in there looking like a dog and the magician Maddy Eisele turned me into a total stud. My mom will actually hug me again and my friends are finally inviting me out places! I've driven all around Chevy Chase and Rockville looking for someone I can trust to cut my curls and it had to be fate that lead me to Maddy and Splash Salon. And the pomade she set me up with is the bomb! Definitely going back next month for my haircut and whenever I need supplies or positive reinforcement

I love this place. Cindy always takes special care of me and delivers on whatever I ask for. She's very creative so sometimes I'm not sure what I want and she gives me a great color or cut. The staff are so warm and she can often see me the same day I call which I love because I have a very busy schedule.

This place is right off of Connecticut which makes it super easy to get to. Maddy is amazing and did a killer job on my hair. She completely understood my needs (basically, that I have a giant head and need both length and a cut that frames my face) and delivered exactly what we discussed. She is so laid back and easy to talk to, and had great ideas for future styles. There is also a ton of parking, which is incredibly important to me. I hate having to search for parking when I'm trying to make appointments. This was stress-free. Have years of experience seeing Cindy at Splash...can't believe I never got around do writing a Google Review. I have never been unhappy with my hair. Cindy really listens to you when you have an idea...but also can make a great suggestion when you just want a change. The salon is comfortable and parking easy.

I got my hair and makeup done at the salon and I was very happy with finish look of my hair. They gave me some tips and how to make the hairstyle last longer so I was very happy with that. However, they seriously don't know much about makeup. I was soooo disappointed when I saw the finish look. They just put on some eyeliner, foundation and powder and done. No contour, no highlight, like I know a lot abut makeup and honestly I could have done it myself but that day I just wanted to relax because it was prom but what a waste of time. As soon as I got home I took it all off, except the fake lashes, and did the whole makeup myself. I give the salon creds for the hair, the salon environment and kindness but not the makeup. Like seriously if you want to get a beautiful makeup for a special event, don't get it done with them.
