I was introduced to Jessica & Illuminate through a friend. I have never (I'm 40) had such a consistently, positive experience with a stylist/salon over and over. Jessica gave me beautiful natural highlights and a easy/low maintenance style with perfectly imperfect layers for my wavy, fine hair. She maintained it for 3 years before we moved to Nebraska. I found a new stylist here in Nebraska, but as good as she is she can't compare. Jessica always listened to what I wanted and gave honest feedback/advice if I asked for something that would not have worked for my hair. You will not regret going to Jessica at Illuminate salon:)

I am SO happy I found this salon! I'm blonde and get hi-lights, so finding an affordable place locally that could do perfect hi-lights was great. All of the employee's treat you like an old friend when you walk in, and everyone that does hair there is ultra competent. If one stylist is busy when I have time for an appointment, I dont hesitate to see whoever is available. They are ALL good. And I like to support small, local, women owned businesses. I've recommended quite a few friends and they all loved it. My go to spot for sure!

Being in the beauty industry, I am very particular about where I get my hair done. I have been to some of the best salons all over the DMV and this little spot in Crownsville is A HIDDEN GEM!! Owner (Jessica S.) has always been super accommodating and she is extremely kind AND talented. My niece went to another stylist Jessica (Blondie) when she was visiting and said, it is the best haircut she has ever had! I want to tell all my friends about this place and I do, but I also want to keep it a secret because I am so happy I found it!!

I made an appointment with Jessica Schwarz with an idea of what I wanted done. After talking it over with her, I opted for something a little different and am so pleased with the outcome. So glad Jessica made sure I was informed before doing anything. My hair looks and feel great! Love the friendly atmosphere there, too.

My wife went here on short notice to get a cut and color. While discussing the options for a color and the costs associated with the hairstylist, the owner commented across the salon to "check to make sure she has the budget". My wife is latina took it as a biased comment based on that fact. She thought it was offensive and it made her very uncomfortable. In the end she was too embarrassed to just walk away and ended up getting only a haircut. This comment lost both the hairstylist and the owner money, and they will never receive our business again. If the owner of the salon did not intend her comment the way it was taken, then maybe she should think about how her words will be perceived before saying them. 4 stars for the haircut which is pretty good. The 1 star is for the offensive comment.

An amazing salon. I have been going to this salon for a few years now. Owner, Jessica, has always given me a great haircut. She is very professional and runs a very friendly, comfortable salon. If you are looking for a salon, I would highly recommend that you give them a try. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Best hair salon. I happen to stumble upon this hidden gem when I first moved back to the area. I am extr6self conscious about my hair and they just do such a great job. They cut my hair just right, color it just right. Amazing stylist. I would never go anywhere else. Ever.

I was referred to the owner, Jessica by a friend and client. So glad. Trying to maintain my colored, blonde hair is difficult and it was Jessica who educated me on the fact that my community uses well water. I was always under the impression it was city water. What a difference. Not only did I receive helpful information but great color at an unbeatable price!
