I've been getting my hair done by Leah for years now and have never had a complaint. Everyone there is always super friendly and the atmosphere is chill. The online reservation system is also easy to use, and they now use Flok as a punch card / rewards / coupon / chat type app and it's pretty sweet. After being with them for this long I'm confident they can handle any sort of hair style anyone requests.

What a wonderful delight !!! The ladies here know what they are doing and how to please. Where else will you find a friendly atmosphere, knowledgeable and satisfying staff, along with a variety of services to suit anyone’s needs. Also, the flexibility they offer is top notch. To be honest, I can't believe you don't need to book months in advance. You'd be foolish to to go anywhere else. To sum it up, it is the "Cheers" of cosmetology industry, "Where everybody knows your name" !!!!! Amazing customer service! If in the rare instance, something is not completely to your liking, they will go above and beyond to keep you happy! It is obvious that they appreciate your patronage and want to hold on to you as a client. They ladies here are professional, friendly and know their skin/hair/nail business! And now that they are offering women's services, they are so convenient for a middle of the day, mini-mani getaway!

Scheduled a head & neck shave along with a beard trim. Upon arrival it is explained that we may not have enough time to do anything but the head shave. As the shaving commenced, I realized that the head shave was being done with a DISPOSABLE RAZOR. She decided that there was enough time to shave my neck but did not touch my beard which was the main reason I went there. When I go to check out, $70!!!! For a shave with a damn disposable razor. It doesn’t cost me $70 to shave in a year. What a sham, never going back.

I loved the atmosphere and products they used. The first time I went, my stylist seemed to really care about building a rapport, and I even ended up booking a second appointment for balayage. After my second appointment, I thought I found my new salon I was planning on faithfully going to. On my third visit (same hair stylist), I made my appointment online for the sake of convenience, and went in. I wanted a basic cut, nothing special, didn't ask for anything extra. My stylist threw a fit, because I had long hair that would "clearly take more than an hour to cut", and began complaining how the new receptionist didn't know how to book an appointment properly, and THEN proceeded to tell me that she was running behind for her other appointments. Needless to say, I will not be going back. She spent more time arguing with the front desk, than she did talking to me, and became so upset that she had no want to hold any general conversation with me. Suddenly, her interest in building rapport went straight out of the window. I actually looked forward to this appointment just to talk and ask her how she was doing. Disappointing.

My son and I make a "Guys morning" every three weeks when we get our hair cut. We go to breakfast, get our hair cut and get away. He and I will have a lot to remember when he grows up as Refinery is a great place to have your hair cut and get out of the "salon" atmosphere of so many places.

Without a doubt one of the coolest spaces in Lafayette. The Refinery is not your typical men's barber experience. It's the type of place you'd expect to stumble upon in NY or LA. One visit and you'll be a client for life!

My son and I have both gone here and been taken care of by separate barbers and this is the best haircut we've each had. I had my haircut by Leah and she was fantastic, cut my hair exactly how I wanted it and was very friendly and made me feel welcome. My son saw Melissa and she did a great job with his hair and was also very friendly. He said it was the best haircut he's ever had and felt that she treated him like a person and talked to him instead of just treating him like a little kid like some other places he's been to.

Great location, great staff. Downtown locale is very convenient (and great excuse) to combine haircut with lunch or drinks with clients. Weekends and summer, we've combined cuts with a family day at the Children's Museum of Acadiana.

I have been frequenting The Refinery for quite a while now. I have always been impressed with their efforts to "spoil" their customers. I have tried almost every service offered and have never left disappointed. The atmosphere is soothing. The staff is always professional and courteous. Jamie and Jessi are as skilled as they come. Every time I get a 30 minute massage Heather's able hands make me wish I had booked an hour. I always look and feel like a champ when I leave. Renee has furnished the business with every pampering detail that you can think of. I now even bring my 12 year old son and he always leaves with a smile. And now that they offer women's services I can try to persuade my wife to treat herself as well. I can go on forever praising The Refinery, but I would just advise anybody to just go try it and get hooked! Keep up the great work ladies!

Over the years, I've been to several Barber shops and salons for service....none of them compare with The Refinery Downtown. From the time I call for an appointment, until I leave with a great haircut and the stated gratitude of my stylist & your support staff...I feel like I'm visiting with great friends. The great haircut I know I'll get is a given, but the warm greeting, the complimentary drinks,...not to mention the comfortable and aromatic surroundings of the shop, are great extras that positively contribute to the overall experience that is the norm at The Refinery. I highly recommend The Refinery to anyone who appreciates receiving the best "bang for your buck" available at any Barber shop...bar none! I personally will not be returning to The Refinery. I used to go regularly for hair color, but the last time I went I was charged to fix a mistake. I have darker hair and should have been told that it would take multiple sessions to lighten it before I could put in the color. However, I had it bleached once and it still had yellow undertones when the color was put in, and I don't believe I had any toner put in. This resulted in my hair being three different colors. Initially, the hairdresser wasn't going to charge me to fix it, but the manager said she had to charge me for the product. I appreciate the hairdresser offering to fix the mistake, but I find this incredibly unprofessional for a salon.

I am always greeted with a hello and smile. The girls that work at the refinery are very professional but not stuffy. I truly enjoy the ultimate haircut with the hot towel and the scalp masssage, it is incredible! But you can't pass up the opportunity to get a real shave. If you are a fan of being pampered this is the treatment for you. There is no other place in Lafayette that gives men the chance to have a day at the spa without feeling prissy. I almost forgot about the beer and other complimentary drinks while you wait. Again, the refinery is incredible.
