After hunting for a salon since moving back to KC, I think I’ve found the one. Very cool atmosphere and friendly staff. I came here after getting a bad haircut elsewhere and Alyssa listened to what I wanted and fixed it right up. I’m really happy with the results. I definitely will be back!

I had a gift card to try this salon out, so I figured I’d book a highlight. I go online, and see the prices range from as low as “Starting at $122”, and going up based on stylist. I book the $122 price, and the service was great! She explained the products she was using, her technique, and I loved the result. My only issue I came to find was, I book my appointment starting at that price, and I know there’s maybe some add-ins to get me to the perfect color. She breaks down the pricing for me before we start, says I’ll come up to around $150, and I get to the counter to pay, and it came up to $174!! Where did the other $24 come from? Don’t get me wrong, I love the job she did, but I never would have paid close to $200 for a highlight when my hair was already blonde, I just needed some touching up at the roots. While the service I had was great, and I do like the color, I don’t think I was fairly quoted at the end of the day, and it will probably be a one time experience. The 3-star is on the great service, but the pricing is not what I was quoted.

Sylvia and Liv were both incredibly and earnestly sweet. I was running a little late, but they were accommodating and didn't make me feel bad, guilty, or rushed once I arrived. I had my eyebrows waxed, and now they look cleaned and shaped. It was minimally painful, and easy to talk with Liv the entire time. I cannot wait to go back!

I usually get my eyebrow threaded but yesterday I decided to get them waxed for the first time... so I obviously didn’t know how it would feel or what to expect. This place had really good reviews so I picked it .. they were super nice and friendly the place was cute and clean the waxing itself didn’t hurt but a minute after she had finished waxing my brows they started burning like a little paper cut but my friends felt like that too so I had thought it was normal ... so I ignored it and went on with my day .. but the pain never went away I had rubbed my eye and it hurt really bad and so asked my friend if theirs had hurt anymore and he said no ... I ignored it and just decided to sleep it through the night ... the next morning I woke up my eye was swollen and had a mark on it ... it hurt to the slightest touch, when i washed my face it burns super bad, it’s really painful I don’t know if the wax was too hot or what, she asked me if the temperature felt fine but to me it didn’t seem that hot at all so i don’t know if I had a burn mark or if my skin peeled ...other then the painful mark she did fine on my brows ... I just wanna know as a first timer how to prevent this from happening again and if it was a burn or my skin had peeled ... kind of sad this was how my first time experience turned out :/ Update: the owner did get back with me and was super polite and apologized about the situation. He handled the situation very professionally. Super happy that he did get back with me to settle it . Happy with the outcome!

Salon is fine but the girl gave me a buzz cut. You probably shouldn't start a conversation with a customer by telling them you lack confidence. Also, shampooing someone with rage and cold water is just cruel. Won't be back.

This UPscale Salon & Day Spa is the epitome of class, educated stylists, wonderfully, relaxing atmosphere. I get BOTH my haircut here as well, I've gotten spa services, too. My stylist, Rebecca, knows how to cut naturally curly hair, VERY WELL, she on time, consults with me every single times, before she starts cutting, it's a beautiful salon & Day spa, convientiently located on the KC Streetcar route, and I am ALWAYS greeted in a very satisfying way, and offered a drink of some sort.

Made the decision to try out another barber, which was incredibly difficult, as I have been going to the same barber for 3+ years.. My fiancé has been going to the Glam Room for quite a while and always begged me to try it out. The Glam Room didn’t sound very “Mens barber-ish” to me, so I always ignored her pleas.. finally, after a couple scheduling issues with my normal barber, I decided to try this place out. My reaction after getting my hair cut and beard trimmed by Michael Lokken.. WOW. This guy takes hair cutting seriously. It’s like an art to him, and you can tell he truly loves his craft. He had more focus on my “stubble” beard than my last barber had during my entire visit. The haircut was the best I have had in years... and it was the first time going there! He knew what style I had in my mind and he knew it would work for me. If you’re a guy and you’re looking for a barber... don’t be thrown off by the “Glam Room” name and all the ladies in there.. there is a hidden barber that will amaze you.. his name is Michael

Friendly staff. Welcome drink ( wine, beer, tea, coffee). Wide variety of services you can enjoy. If you wanna treat yourself come visit us and be pampered. Clean and spacious facility with very chic decor. The restroom is also well-maintained. The parking can be a bit of a problem since it’s in the River Market, but otherwise the location is great. A bunch of great restaurants to go to before and/or after your salon visit.

Seriously though I give my stylist high props for being able to do so much with so little hair. You check in, and are offered a drink. Coffee, water, beer, or wine? I always go for the wine. Amazing. Lovely environment! Friendly staff! I have had my hair cut here and also had my eyebrows waxed. My hair cut was several months ago now, but it was perfect! I cut off about 7 inches of hair and got some layers, so it was a big deal to me. It turned out perfectly! It's $15 for an eyebrow wax, but is well worth it. Madison waxed my brows, and did a great job. She even trimmed them, brushed, & colored them in just a little bit! I don't know if they always do that but it was super fun! Highly recommend.

If this isn't a hidden gem, I don't know what is. Parking is a pain. Once you make it in, they were all very helpful. I had an appointment booked. I waited a few minutes. When my stylist took me to my chair, he immediately offered me a variety of beverages. Jacob was willing to talk to me about the color I wanted and offered me suggestions and products to help achieve the thickness, length, and body I desired. The hair washing station was unique and intimate. It was a great deep scalp massage. He colored and gave me a blow out. I was thoroughly pleases for my stylists above and beyond attitude. He even sang along and interacted with me along the way. I felt warm and welcome. I can't wait to go back. I am thinking of trying their nail service next.

Spent over $200 and my hair looks about the same as when I went in. I actually liked it better before. She didn't do at all what I wanted and didn't offer to fix it. Incredibly disappointing considering this is the first time I've gotten my hair professionally done.

I have struggled for years with gaining confidence in my hair. A friend introduced me to The Glam Room and Cristian Boss. I have gone through brown, ombré, bleach blonde, and black hair. Never was I happy with my hair and over time with coloring with someone else my hair became short, thin, and noticeably unhealthy. Cristian took great care of me and gave me tips on how to take care of my hair using the correct product. She is very knowledgeable about her techniques, products, and making you feel comfortable in the salon chair. I’m back to being a blonde and my hair looks healthier than ever. I’ve been coming here for about over half a year now and don’t plan on going anywhere else! The customer service here is great. Everyone is friendly and will keep you busy with a mini facial or mini makeup application if you are waiting on your service.

I went for a arm wax and manicure. I had a rash with the wax which can happen to any one. The lady did the wax ripped the top layer of skin off my fore arm multiple bruises. I told her to stop at the one hand at that point. I went to a different salon par excelane for my other arm. It was completely fine no rash or bruises. Apparently they did my wax wrong and did not hold my skin tight.

I went to get my makeup done for my homecoming. The lady that did my makeup was sweet but the way she did my makeup looked awful. So when I told her what to fix, she somehow made it even worse. So I just had to deal with it and I went home crying because I felt ugly. So when I got home I changed it and fixed the eyes and it looked a lot better. So what could have been done professionally was done by a 15 year old that only does goth makeup.
