I was lucky enough to have DSM Salon and Spa do hair and makeup for myself and my wedding party. It was a fairly large group that was managed efficiently, but most important their work was beautiful! My makeup lasted all day and my hair held up despite the rain all day! I have also been here several times for typical cut and color and have NEVER been unhappy! I live out of state but I try to plan my haircuts for when I'm back visiting because Kasey has always done a fantastic job! Thanks for a great start to my wedding day!!

I've been trying to find a good salon for my curly hair for over a year and I think I finally found it! I had a basic cut from Rachel and she did a great job with my consultation before washing my hair, which included a little scalp and neck massage, and she explained all of the products I might be interested in without making me feel obligated to buy anything. The atmosphere is relaxing but trendy and they do everything from hair to nails to massage and facials. There's a points program, so you can eventually cash in for a free service or product as well. Everyone seemed really nice and knowledgeable about the products and services.

I had a wonderful experience here. My hair looks and feels the best it has in over a year. Rachel took me from sea creature to princess, which is pretty extraordinary, because my baseline is swamp monster. She also explained all of the products she used on my hair and their function without making me feel pressured to buy anything I wasn’t quite ready to purchase. The atmosphere here is great, as are the smells and the people. This place is solid. I’ll definitely be back.

I had my hair and makeup done here for my wedding on Nov 2, along with all of my bridesmaids’ updos. I can’t speak highly enough of the artistry, care, detail, professionalism shown by all of the stylists we worked with. They all listened to what we wanted, and the end products were so beautiful. All 7 of us were in and out within 4 hours, and all of our hairstyles held up for the entire day and night of photos and festivities. And my makeup didn’t need one touch-up the entire time, which is incredible. I can’t recommend this salon enough!

I had a great experience at dsm salon & spa. I scheduled myself a massage and couldn't have been happier with the calm and serene environment. I had to wait a while for the appointment due to the technician having some car troubles. However, everyone was extremely nice and kept me informed. Someone else ended up coming in to do my massage, which was very nice of her. The manager followed up with me in the week after to apologize. The customer service was great. I can't imagine going anywhere else.

DSM Salon offers an upscale experience with professional quality to match. The shop is located in the Roosevelt Shops area off of 42nd and I-235. There is parking right out front with more in the back. The Salon is designed to be modern which allows for lots of natural light. They are a full-service salon and spa which is nice because it’s truly a one-stop shop. They carry high-end products like Bumble and Bumble as well as Byrd pomade. Overall great staff and location. Corey has been my go-to person for men’s haircuts for the past 5+ years, trust me; you will not be disappointed.

Best staff and services in Des Moines by far. They go above and beyond in every aspect of your appointment from a complimentary craft beer or glass of wine when you walk in to a head and neck massage while they wash your hair. Rachel is extremely talented at listening to what you would like done and exceeding your expectations. Britney does a fantastic job of accommodating your schedule with appointments and playing banger after banger for you to listen to during your time there. I have never left disappointed or felt I didn't get my money's worth. I would refer dsm to anyone including my own Grandmother, and I love my Grandmother very much.

Why I LOVE dsm salon?? One word....STAFF!! The professional staff here are most welcoming and accommodating. You feel like you are the only client at your time of service, pampered.Also love the offer of a beverage when you check in...wine,beer or waters! <3 <3
