I went there wanting to dye my hair a gray/silver. Instead, I got blonde that was barely any different than my original hair color. No one even noticed anything was done to my hair, let alone $200 worth. The workers were very friendly and sweet, I just didnt get what I payed for even remotley and it was very dissapointing.

I needed a simple trim to get rid of my dead ends but any work on my hair I can be skeptical (bad past experiences). I am from Indy where I get my hair processed normally but frequent the city of Lafayette. While I was in town, I took a chance on this salon. I scheduled a very last minute appointment with Mikaela Margush. She did fantastic. She even explained to me what hair products I need to invest in when I deal with well water. I told her what I wanted, expressed my desires to continue growing my hair out, and as a result she confidently gave me the fresh cut I was hoping for without jeopardizing the long length I was currently happy with. She maintained a wonderful conversation outside of "hair talk", which means a great deal to me. I will be back to have her also process my hair in the future!

The first time I visited here, I went in about 30 minutes before closing time and I am aware of other hair saloons getting prepped to close shop, and generally do not like customers walking in so close to closing time. My stylist (Allbanee Flora), however, was very accommodating, didn't rush and listened to my requests, made changes and made for a great experience overall. Most stylists just want to get done with their shifts usually, and although I blame myself for walking in so late, her patience and professionalism was much appreciated and well received. The place is a nice, clean and looks peppy. I would love to visit here again. I generally never write reviews but the service I received here was worthy of one.

Went to get my hair trimed and highlighted at electric hair salon. I had a stylist named Kyle, who was very friendly and kind. The reason I am giving it 3 stars was the price and customer atmosphere. The price was not as stated as online. It ended up being nearly $60 more than what was described on their site. The atmosphere didn't scream very friendly either, the other staff were all loudly chatting about inappropriate things. There was even a staff member working that was telling stories about stealing things and how she was taking pictures of an over weight man's feet. To show to her family and friends as a joke. I don't find humiliating others very funny. I felt uncomfortable and just wanted to leave. I just smiled and pretended everything was going well but I truly didn't care for the other staff. Although Kyle was nice and did a good job on highlighting my hair, it was still cut shorter than I wanted. I would like to say I would recommend this place but I truly wouldn't. If you do go I would recommend confirming the prices before hand and ignoring some of the staff. I understand some people like to talk to their customers to pass time, but the vulgar and rude gossip was pretty annoying.

The only place in West Lafayette that knows how to deal with my frizzy, thick, wavy hair and make it look good! I have been getting my haircut here for the last 1.5 years. If you have uncommon texture of hair, I definitely recommend Megan.

My stylist did not color my hair as I asked and after going for a correction, nothing changed. I then asked for a partial refund, of which they would not give me, and addressed me in a rude and very unprofessional way. I paid for an expensive service, and now I have to pay even more to have a different salon fix it.

Went to Eclectic for the first time today for a hair cut. Shawna was my stylist and did an amazing job! She cut my hair exactly like the picture I showed her. She was talkative, inviting, and friendly. The salon interior is very cute, and like the name says...eclectic! I have gone to the same stylist at home for years, and needed a cut while at school here at Purdue. Needless to say, I would definitely go back to Shawna again and trust her with my hair! Very fair priced as well!

Fantastic hair cut! Shawna is amazing, and gave me an awesome cut and style even though I had no idea what I wanted. She even showed me how to take care of it myself so I can make it look as good as it did when I left the salon. Eclectic is officially my favorite salon in West Lafayette!

It was my first time being there. Some observation was interesting. When you went back home, you pondered the whole process, you could understand why they did that, but still felt a little bit uncomfortable. 1. they asked me when I called to make an appointment:"is it your first time visiting us?", I said:"yes." When I arrived, they assigned the youngest stylist to me. I am sure it is not a busy time. 2. The stylist was very considerate and willing to listen to my needs. I liked her. But I hate to say that, I had been trimming my hair at home, and I did a better job. 3. I would consider it as a trimming job, not a hair cut. We both agreed that that was what I needed, but when you received the bill, $28+tips, you might wonder if it was worthy, since I could count the times she picked up the scissors on my hands. I understand that it is the same everywhere, because you cannot expect hair salon to be like a restaurant, having 100 customers everyday. But I have to say it is not fair for the customers.

Kyle is awesome. I take my 3 year old son to him and he cuts his hair great every time. I decided to get my hair cut and also had Kyle. He did an amazing job describing everything he did and the outcome was great. I have had long hair all my life and finally decided to get a short hair cut, I was nervous but he made me feel relaxed. The other workers there are also friendly. I would definitely recommend this place!

Most unaccomodating staff ever. Seriously. Made a nail appointment in January and had all the documentation to show that I had confirmed the appointment 3 days prior. Get in there at my time and am told they have no record of me and that I must have cancelled it. I cancelled my pedicure NOT the manicure and I even double checked that. All they could do was shrug their shoulder and say oh well. I will NEVER go back there. Anyone who chooses to go there, better triple check and call ahead because you might have gotten cancelled!!

I called and askd if they cud dye my hair pink if I showed them a pic of the color. The receptionist said YES OF COURSE! I asked about pricing & said it was dark brown,long, not thick, curly. She said around $150, maybe a bit more (160 or 170). I went. picked out 2 color shades from their hair samples & said I wanted the middle. She agreed. She said it might not turn out exactly the right shade but it will be in that range. She also said it wud wash out in around 4 weeks and I would b blonde aftr. I agreed. She dyes my hair. It's nothing like what I asked 4, but it's still pretty so I walk out happy. I even tipped $24 despite being charged $226 even tho I was told it would cost around $150. 4 days later I washed it. almost cried. My hair was half pink, half blonde. I tried to stay calm. It was dead wk, I was busy. But i found time 2 call 2 days later on Friday, exactly 1 wk after. I explained my situation. The receptionist was shocked at first, said "well that IS weird". I asked what could b done. She said she wasn't sure if it could be fixed if my hair just didn't take the dye. I said I wanted a refund if that was the case. She gave me the owner. The owner said she wasn't sure if I was telling the full story and I should talk to the stylist. So I did, ignoring the insinuation that I might be lying. I told her how my hair was half pink half blonde and that clearly there was some kind of mistake and I said I hated to do this but I just really couldn't ignore how bad my hair looked and I wanted a refund. She said she didn't make any mistakes and she "has been doing this for years and knows how to do her job". I said I'm sure she's great but clearly a mistake was made with my hair. back and forth, no resolution, she blamed it on my hair type and said she warned me. I said nobody told me I'd be half blonde half pink or that it would wash out in 1 wash. She told me she'd call back. I waited. They didn't call back so I did. I was given a guy 2 talk to. He said it was my hair's fault & gave me an ultimatum. Either come & we can re-apply the dye or dye it another color or this convo is over. At this point I'm feeling attacked. I hate confrontation & on top of that I have these people telling me it's my fault my hair is half pink half blonde. I said why can't I have a refund? He shut the phone in my face.Wen i 1st calld I tried 2 b nice. I even apologized multiple times 4 having to come back and complain but I rlly couldn't accept this. They were nice at 1st but got more & more defensive the more I insisted a mistake was made with my hair. The next day I decided 2 call again.I called, and calmly explained 2 a diff receptionist what had happened & y I was asking for a refund. I said since apparently nothing was done wrong I don't trust that it'll come out right if they try a second time and that's when she shut the phone in my face. 2nd time someone hung up on me mid-convo. Then i get a call back from the owner, and she basically goes off on me, saying I've insulted the stylists and harassed them by calling so many times (note this is my 4th call, and the 2nd was to call back cuz the receptionist told me to and 3rd was me calling back cuz they left me hanging on a response) so this is technically only my 2nd call to try to resolve the situation and get a refund. I tell her I have NOT been rude, I only was stating what happened to me and that a mistake was made with my hair. She didn't really let me get much in, but said that at this point after my behavior (because I am asking for a refund cuz my hair is ruined because if them?) she doesn't think any of the stylists would want to work on me and I am NOT getting a refund. She emphasized the no refund and said if I called again or stopped by she would call the police. Then shut the phone in my face when I was trying to tell her that I didn't understand why I got charged $226 for a hairstyle that didn't last 4 days and made me half blonde half pink I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to see if I can get my money back.

Eclectic has a very calm, relaxed vibe, which is great when you're not 100% sure what you want for a haircut yet. I didn't feel rushed, and the stylist took his time to make sure he knew what I was going for before he started cutting. He asked questions along the way, kept me updated with what he was doing, and kept up a chill conversation with me the whole time. Haircuts here include a shampoo before and styling afterwards. I have hair shorter than 6", and it cost me ~$30, so expect to pay at least that much if you're a woman. Overall, I am very satisfied with the cut!

I am new to the area and today I was looking for a new salon to get my hair cut and my eyebrows waxed. I came across Eclectic Hair Salon and decided to give it a shot, despite some of the more negative reviews listed here. My eyebrow wax was done well and efficiently. My hair was cut by Mikaela, who told me that she was new to the salon. I don't often write reviews, but I wanted to write this to commend Mikaela as she enters her position at this salon. She was professional, kind, attentive, and very understanding of what I wanted done. I am very pleased with the haircut, the price, and the level of service. I will be going to this salon regularly throughout my 4 years in veterinary school at Purdue.

A friend recommended that I try out Eclectic a couple of months ago, and I have been going there ever since! Kelsey and the other staff there are talented, creative and fun. Megan did my hair, and did an amazing job. I have a ton of thick unruly hair and she didn't act like it was a burden at all. I have dealt with that from salons in the past. She was very friendly and made sure that I was happy with the results. Great cut and highlighting job! ♡ I highly recommend her and this salon! My daughter also had her hair colored by Sarah (I believe was her name) she also exceeded my expectations. My daughter went from 3 colors to one color. Great corrective coloring job on her part. She also made sure that everything would turn out excellent.

Haircut was okay. Not over the top great or anything. The hairdressers listens to your needs when they cut your hair which is good. I am not very happy with the price though. Compare to other salons around here, this place is pretty expensive. Had to pay a little over $50 to just trim my "long" hair. Not sure if I will be going back again doing my hair twice here.

The owner, Shawna, is very professional and active in her salon. I highly recommend this place and I truly believe that it is the best salon in the area. My stylist was very kind, and my cut was done well. My issue was with my coloring experience. I'm really let down by my experience. I chose a rose gold color, and it was beautiful when I left the salon. The stylist gave me lots of advice on how to maintain it, and I was told to expect some fading as pinks don't last long. This was fine for me. I followed the advice super well, yet all of my pink color washed out completely in one wash. This was an expensive service, so I was pretty bothered by this. I decided to call and see what I could do since I lost most of my color after just one wash. I was told id have to pay again and would also need to invest in some high end products. I'd just spent a ton of money to get this done, and was expected to pay even more to correct it. I'm sure many people never have an issue. Just know that if you are unlucky like me and have issues you won't receive any help unless you pay up. I paid over $100 for a color I enjoyed for three days, which just isn't fair at all. This salon has probably ruined me from ever trying to get my hair colored ever again.
