Don Allen started is Career in Greenwood IN. He has been a stylist for over 20 years. He is a master stylist. He always knows what is best for my hair. At 59 I have quite a bit of gray coming in. When he does my color All the gray is covered. There isn't any fading or hair that isn't the same color. He uses the best products. He also does the research so that he knows exactly what is going on your hair. He can tell you why it works and Why he won't burn your hair up. He can also straighten color problems out. He is the best.

Last week I decided to go get a haircut and for whatever reason, I went to great clips for that. They completely botched it and didn't give me even close to what I wanted, and on top of that, they cut it too short to be able to just re-cut it! I went to Don Allen absolutely devastated about my hair. I explained to him that my husband was coming home from the Army and that I hadn't seen him in a couple months and that I wanted to look nice for him and not only did he listen, but he sat with me and came up with a game plan on what we could do to fix the mess I got myself into for trying to go cheap haha. I went in embarrassed and came out with my head held high with a smile on my face! I highly recommend him! As he promised, he made me look fabulous haha

He is a perverted, narcissistic, and condescending. He treats his employees like crap (which is why he is always hiring). He thinks he is the best hairstylist in town, and yet he works in a strip mall. What a joke! Not worth your money or time.

I love going to Don Allen's. He is the only person that I have gone to that can get my blonde color perfect every time. He has brought my hair an extremely long way. His products never damage my hair and my hair is the healthiest it has ever been. I would reccomend Don Allen's to everyone!

I have came to this salon for all most three years, I have never had a bad experience. Every time I have my hair fixed by Don I walk out feeling like I walked out of a magazine. His personality and professionalism are always helpful. I can come in so upset and moody leaving I feel confident and happy. I will never go anywhere else, you should go in and let him fix your hair.. You'll be extremely satisfied.

Hands down the best experience I've ever had. I have been to a lot of different hairstylists but Don has been the best by far. He is very knowledgeable. He wanted to make me feel comfortable and was very accommodating. After just 2 visits, my hair is in way better shape than it's ever been. I have gone over twenty years to Don Allen's salon getting my hair colored, permed, cut, and various treatments. I use to change hair stylists every couple of months until I went to Don. It has been a wonderful experience ever since. My Granddaughter had her hair done at another salon on Saturday and they almost ruin her hair. On a Sunday night at 7 pm Don was more than willing to see my Grandaughter about her dilemma with her highlights gone bad. He assured her it was fixable when it her mind it need all shaved off because there was no hope for it. (I never saw her so upset). It took Don about an hour and a half to make a mess into a miracle. It not only looked beautiful, it was soft, shiny, and exactly what she wanted in high-lights. Don not only fixed the color he gave her a beautiful cut to fix the chop job previously done. Don, thank you for taking Sunday evening away from your plans and helping someone in dire straits. You are the best.

My girlfriend went here and the first person that did her hair got fired for being drunk and negligent on the job. We were invited back to try to get the hair fixed that he messed up. Instead of doing it himself, Don delegated the work to a random stylist. They were not descriptive about the outcome of the style and had a very poor knowledge on hair in general. We were told it would take a year and a half to fix my girlfriends hair, we ended up just going to a hair salon in Indy the next day and fixing it immediately in a couple hours. Unless you want multiple appointments and unknowledgeable staff, don't go to Don's!

I went to see Don last night and he saved my hair! I had attempted to go from dark to light brown on my own at home with the assistance of my husband and after many failed attempts at dying and bleaching, my hair was in bad shape! He was able to strip all of the chemicals out of it and make it look like new, beautiful hair! He got the color I was wanting just right! He was very knowledgeable about the hair dying process and taught my husband and I a lot! His products are awesome! I will not be going to anyone else, but him from now on!

Was very pleased with the service I received today. Called around to many salons while out and about to see if anyone could get me in right away. None could but Don. He told me to come on over and they would get me in. He did an amazing job and did exactly what I wanted but couldn't quite explain. I usually leave after a hair cut not very happy but was very please after this one and was taken very well care of by all staff.

Honestly, his after-hours hair cut wasn't anything to write home about, but he was able to do a bit of improvement on work from another salon that I didn't care for and he did it sans fee. My experience: As I sat quietly waiting my turn in the chair I tried not to listen to his conversation because it made me uncomfortable. The conversation was rather loud and unprofessional... All though it was after hours, so I *suppose* that's okay. But since I was meeting him for the first time I had expected a *bit* of couth/manners/professionalism. I also wasn't really conformable with his enjoying an alcoholic beverage (again, it was after hours and it was a malt beverage of some sort... Not "hard liquor"/spirits) before taking a pair of scissors to my hair, but this was the first time I was meeting the man and didn't feel comfortable asking him not to drink in his own salon after hours before cutting my hair (and he ended up not charging me for the cut, for which I was appreciative). Overall, the experience left me with a slightly uncomfortable feeling. And now I *think* I realize why. Getting my hair cut by Don Allen was like getting my hair cut by a teenager with no cares in the world (and no clue, either). I was happy for the teenager, and terrified of having to live through the experience. I'm even more unsettled by my experience in his salon now that I know he encourages (through passive-aggressive jokes) his 16 year old daughter to bully fully grown adults (through *her* passive-aggressive actions). His life is a very sad situation, but I most assuredly will *not* be returning. I don't want to fund such behavior.....

I went in for a haircut and shampoo. Girl was rough with my head and cut my hair shorter than I wanted. I decided to just leave it at that and never return. For the past year and a half I have been getting email reminders about keeping nonexistant appointments and practically begging for my business while simultaneously telling me he might be too busy for my patronage. Finally I had enough, replied to the email and asked to be removed from his email list due to the poor experience I had there . I was polite if a bit curt. Don proceed to respond to my email with this: "Your wife cut your hair. This has to be the funniest thing I've heard in days. Thanks for the laugh." He is insulting and rude. He is sleazy and cheap with his employees and the products he offers can be bought in any WalMart salon for less. Needless to say now I truly will never set foot in his salon again.
