I LOVE the tanning at Opulence. However, I have only had bad experiences with hair at the salon. First, I took my boyfriend in for a hair cut almost a year ago, the lady cutting his hair cut it way too short and unevenly, it looked very choppy. Then I decided a couple weeks ago that I wanted new color, before booking an appointment I looked at Opulence's Facebook and Instagram pages to see some of their work; everything looked beautiful, there were gorgeous bayalages, blondes, and perfect cuts. I figured it would be ok for me to go, all the girls there have beautiful hair and maybe my boyfriend just was not lucky with his cut. So I made an appointment, the receptionist assured me the stylist I would see was very talented with color. My appointment comes, I was there on time for the appointment set, I show pictures to the stylist and explain that I would like to go up a shade for a pretty, chocolatey brunette. She consulted with me for less than 30 seconds, when I told her what I would like she didn't really repeat what I wanted to make sure we were on the same page, she seemed hurried. So she went back to mix color, then came back, we started talking then it was like she decided she didn't want to talk so she gave me a magazine. She applies the color then walks away, I can hear her in the back talking to someone and laughing. After 15-20 min she comes back out and says ok, this will be ready to wash out in like 8-10 min. So I waited, 10 min passed, then almost 15 min pass and finally she comes back. She says she was talking about her new extensions. So she washes my hair out...and it's BLACK. Not chocolatey brunette, not dark brown, just solid black. I do not know how she thought it looked good. It was horrible. When I left and was paying, I could see the receptionist thought it looked bad by her expression and the fact that she was not chipper like she usually is, I'm sure she could tell I didn't like it but I was trying to be positive. $110 later I'm out the door. I had to go to work that day after the appointment and everyone I normally see noticed the HUGE difference, I did not receive a single compliment, I got lots of "WOW your hair is different!". The kids I watch asked me not to come back with hair like that the next day because it scared them and they thought I looked evil, they were scared to look at me. The following two days I washed my hair at least 10 times, I used baking soda and dandruff shampoo to get at least some of the color out, didn't work so I booked another appointment at another salon. I was not about to trust the salon that messed up my hair so bad to fix it. I was so embarrassed and frustrated by my experience at Opulence, I unlikely will go there ever again. Tanning is great there, but I do not trust their salon services.
