I don't think I am Barb's usual client since she does all the dreads. But, I do have very thick, curly hair, and Barb is the best stylist I've ever had. It could be her experience with dreads pays off for hair like mine. She has never been anything but professional with me over 3 and half years of going to her. She is always on time. She also has a great personality and sense of fun that shows in both her interactions and creativity. Overall an excellent experience.

Barb at Femme Fatale is simply the best when it comes to dreads. She is proffesional and totally knowledgeable and will explain everything you need to know about your hair and what its doing. I go regularly for dread maintenance and the more you go the shorter your visits will be . If you are thinking about getting dreads then go see Barb and have her do them because thats where you will end up going once you you have gotten your hair ****** up by your friends cousin who THINKS they know how to do dreads. Barb is also really friendly and accomodating and her rates are really reasonable.

I've been going to Barb for over five years, and my hair has never looked better. I have curly hair, and she has taught me how to better care/maintain my locks so they aren't a giant frizz ball. She is very knowledge able about her craft, and has scientific evidence to back up her techniques. Services I've used through Barb include: synthetic extensions, fashion color dyes, up-dos, vintage hair styling, scalp dermabrasion, facial waxing, Bettie Page bangs, and finally hair cut, style and color. All of these services have been exceptional. I won’t let anyone else touch my hair.

Barb is fantastic! One of my favorites things to do is walk into walk Salon 117 and see Barb. She is always there to make my dreads magnificent. It doesn't take her long to make me and my dreads happy. It has been four or so years and there is no place I would get my dreads done. She a professional and great conversationalist and she takes the time to create awesome hair!

Only go to this women if you feel like being abused. Ive been to her numerous times and my last attempt to book appts were really odd to say the least. Barb is has a dominatrix side to her. She's bossy and quick to judge. Although my prior dreadtician in Eugene did an excellent job, a job that allowed me to continue on with dreads now almost 5 yrs later, Barb still said negative comments about her job. Not Cool! Not professional. I was not able to keep my last appt. as Barb "flipped": out on me when I altered it by an hour and wanted to add another appt. to the next day for additional work. Will never see this women again and recommend that you don't put yourself through her drama.

I am constantly approached by people asking about my dreads. The usual questions are how long have I been working on them, how did I get them to look so neat and clean, and general comments about how much better they look than other caucasian dreads they have seen. These people assume I know a lot about dreads, since they are atop my head after all. But the only truly honest answer I can give them is that I owe my awesome dreads completely to Barb. She talked me through all that is involved during a free consultation. She spent a day putting them in, and a few hours at a follow up appointment (optional, btw). BAM, dreads. Beautiful, even, clean, real dreads. Frankly I am lazy about maintaining them myself and they still look great. If you're interested at all about getting dreadlocks do yourself a huge favor and go see Barb rather than pouring over all the misinformation on the internet. One last thing I should mention is that I got a quote for the exact same service at a salon in another state... they wanted literally double what Barb charged me, so, yeah, very affordable for dreadlocks.

barb has been consistently awesome every time i’ve been in! when I was first interested in getting synthetic dreads put in, I had a ton of questions. barb answered every single one of them and cleared up a lot of confusion and misinformation. she got me really excited to start the synthetic dreadlock process and I'm so glad I decided to do it! honestly, I wish i’d done it sooner. the dreads themselves are all handmade and of top-notch quality. i’ve had mine for over a year now and they still look great. I get compliments on them all the time and I really feel like myself with them. barb was recommended to me by a friend and I would recommend her to anyone looking to start their dreadlock journey. thanks barb for all you do! you rock!
