My first experience with J&F was positive. My stylist was Faye, she took the time to understand what I was trying to achieve with my hair. We agreed after she trimmed my hair that I was trying to grow out would take another 6 to 8 weeks until she could achieve the look. Fast forward to my next appt. I made a mistake in booking my appt online and booked Fatemeh instead of Faye, but kept the appt because I was at the 8 week mark and my hair was getting very long, it took me 6 to 8 months to grow it out. She was a "Master" stylist so I thought I was in good hands. She was very personable and talked alot...I showed her the picture of what I wanted and asked her if she had experience with this type of cut. She assured me she did. I was concerned when Fatemeh made no effort to section off my hair and layer, she simply was taking a section of hair in her comb and cutting into it, I was worried but said nothing as she was the expert. I asked her to also put black highlights in my hair. Once all was said and done and I got home, I just cried ...the highlights came out great and I loved them, but my hair was chopped full of holes and both sides of my head, my hair was cut differently.... I let a week or so go by to see if it was just me and then decided to reschedule and get my hair fixed with Faye. That was 2 weeks later I walked in and Faye gasped and thought that I just needed a trim....she took 2 hours to even out my hair and had to take off almost all of my new growth to give me a pixie cut that at least got rid of the holes and gave me a style. I was very upset and called corporate as I wanted a refund on my highlights as they were all chopped off with my pixie cut. I spoke with Abby at Corporate and she told me that someone would call me back...that was over a week ago and nobody has called me. I sent in a request for a refund via email over a week ago, no reply.... SILENCE..... This salon took away from me 8 months of time to grow my hair out to achieve a look and not one person there had the common decency to call me back...very sad and reflects on their ability to handle criticism....I paid over $200 for an EXPERT haircut and color and got worse than a Great Clips $15 job... Extremely disappointed and feel victimized.......

My daughters regular stylist got sick and had to cancel. Luckily for us they were able to fit her in to do her hair for her father/daughter dance. I cant remember the name of her stylist but she did a fantastic job on her hair. Very friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this place.

I went to Joseph & Friends last night after getting a horrible haircut at Bob Steele a few weeks ago. My layers were so terrible that it looked like I might have to actually just cut my hair short and start over. I made an appointment with Jinny, and she was AMAZING!!! Not only did she completely fix the mess that was my layers, she gave me tips at the end on ways to make my hair look more full and ways to easily style it. She was so helpful. I've already made another appointment with her for February. I would definitely recommend her to any of my friends! Thanks, Joseph & Friends!

I didn't even Get to get my hair done. It sucks pretty bad that I come here and first they tell me that I'm booked with a stylist I did not ask for. The one I requested is apparently with another client. Then they tell me that the stylist I requested does not do "textured hair" anyway, although the girl who referred me here has textured hair. My feelings are hurt of course. I was so looking forward to getting my hair done. I guess I just need to go find a black salon somewhere.

Not only was a squeezed in for a same day appointment at the last minute, but I was given amazing service and attention to detail. It didn't seem rushed, my cut was tailored to my somewhat challenging hair type, and I can't wait to actually plan ahead and get my color done here as well. It's so excited to have a quality salon that can cater to my Monday availability. That's SOOO rare! I highly recommend Elizabeth.

My hair was DESTROYED when I first came in to Joseph and Friends because my previous hairdresser bleached it to the death. I wanted my hair to be platinum blonde but was convinced I wouldn't even have any hair left by the end of the month. I scheduled an appointment with Meredith, hoping that she could fix my hair and make it look decent without bleaching it again. She is an AWESOME person AND did an incredible job! She saved my hair and still managed to give me the platinum look that I want. Not only did she give me the best color I've ever had, but she kept me laughing the whole time and really made the experience enjoyable. The salon is incredibly comfortable and the staff is amazing. My work schedule is insane but they always work with me and are so sweet every time. AND their prices are ridiculously affordable. They're cheaper than where I went to get my hair destroyed!

I have been visiting this salon for a year. Audrey is the best! She knows color and exactly what I want. I like my hair long and she understands that when it's time for a cut. The salon is always clean and employees are friendly. Love the Aveda products. Best my hair has looked in years! I would highly recommend Audrey to anyone who is looking for someone who understands what the customer wants. Great salon and the greatest hairdresser!

While I normally do not write reviews this has just been bothering me. I have been to this salon 3x over 2 yrs and while and always pleased and found it normal pricing, about $140.00 - $160.00 My hair style and color are pretty basic. Medium length color to cover grey and partial highlights. The salon is clean, attractive,and staff courteous. I went 4 wks ago had my hair trimmed, root touch up (not all over color) and partial high lights for $258.00! This is crazy expensive, I do tend to try many salons as what I need is fairly basic and just go where I can get in easily and staying with more upscale salons. Guess I have to look at my grey for a long time since this is almost the same as 2x the cost of visits to most salons.

My hair was to the small of my back I wanted it cut to under my shoulder blades. I wanted long elegant layers, I picked a photo I liked. What I got was 5 inches shorter (above my shoulder blades) and looks like something Jen Aniston wore in “Friends”. I don’t have anything against short hair, but I really didn’t want to loose that much. Sure it will grow out but I will have to wear it up ( thank god I can still put it up) for a year before I can have this disaster fixed. In addition to that I felt as though she was ripping my hair out every time she put the brush through my hair, she poked me in the eye numerous times. I doubt I will be back, certainly not to fix my hair. What are they going to do, cut more off? No, thank you!

I recently moved from Cumming to Milton. I have put off getting my hair cut because I hate going to a hairstylist the first time. I would rather have my teeth cleaned! Finally yesterday I couldn’t put it off any longer. I decided to give Joseph & Friends in Milton a try. Farshad was my stylist. He did a great job. I had already picked out a hairstyle but I wasn’t sure it would look good on me. We discussed my needs - the top one being wash and go easy. Farshad was honest and said he didn’t think I would be happy with the style I had chosen. I must admit at that point my anxiety started fading. We figured out together what would work with my hair and he spent lots of time smoothing all my old layers into my new haircut. Normally I don’t like a haircut for at least a week but today I washed and styled my hair with no trouble. Best of all - I only used a brush, some gel and blow dryer. My hair is exactly what I asked for - wash and go easy! Thank you Farsad for your help!!!!! You will see me again.

I came in the see Jinny Kang at the Milton location. I had a bad experience at a previous salon, and I was very upset about my hair color I typically get bright blond highlights and my hair looked dull and muted and off color Jinny did a fantastic job! She listened to what I wanted, and informed me that she would bring me back to my cool blonde look. She is an excellent stylist I love my hair now thanks to Jinny!

In a panic, I went to Joseph & Friends in Alpharetta. I had been a victim of a BAAAD haircut and it needed to be fixed ASAP. On blind faith alone, I made an appointment with Fataneh. It was comforting when she listened intently to what I had wanted all along. She offered suggestions about how to "fix my mess" and came up with great ideas. It was apparent that she CLEARLY understood what I envisioned and outlined a plan to move forward. I left LOVING my hair and have become a faithful follower. No more ball caps for me! Not everyone can understand the modern mullet/ undercut look... but Hayley worked the magic. Yesterday was my first time there, and Hayley is a high-energy, fun, talented artist. (She was also fantastic with my 5 year old daughter who was just hanging out). The salon is spacious, flooded with natural light, and comfortable.

My experience with Fataneh has been great. She's very caring and responsive to my concerns. The salon has a pleasant atmosphere and the staff is friendly and helpful. I look forward to seeing Fataneh each time I go in for color. Also, the Aveda hair products smell wonderful---it's like an aromatherapy session while having my hair done!

My usual, wonderful J&F stylist, Ernest went on medical leave, so I traveled to Milton and was introduced to Meredith. She listened to what I said, and VERY important, knew Ernest's reputation and paid him a lot of respect, too. I have gotten some great cuts from Meredith, and today she brightened up our teenage daughter's hair. Again, she listened—both to the teenager and to me—and the results were fabulous. We love Joseph & Friends! It was good, while Ernest was on the mend, to stay within the same "family."

Stopped in to ask about Aveda products I've purchased, specifically how to use Smooth Infusion products. I have textured hair which I normally wear curly. I asked if I'd purchased the correct products the order to use them. The staff present that day did not know how to answer which I could possibly forgive. They just weren't 'warm'. Aveda markets their products for ALL hair types & if this is a salon specializing in Aveda, they should be better prepared & informed.

Jamie is the best colorist I've ever been to. Sometimes I know exactly what I want, and she does it exactly. But other times, I just have an idea in my head that I try and explain to her. She takes what I say and just runs with it, and my hair ALWAYS ends up looking absolutely beautiful. She is great to offer up advice in regard to color and cut. I always feel comfortable in her hands. Joseph and Friends is the best Aveda salon around.

I was looking for a new hair stylist/colorist and I FOUND HER! Her name is Hayley. I stopped in wanting to get information on pricing & levels of experience with their stylists/colorists. The woman at the front desk was very welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable. Based on my needs she thought the right person for me would be Hayley. When I arrived for my appointment, Hayley consulted with me on what I wanted and didn't want. She listened and didn't rush me, and also explained things to me as well. She lightened my base color, did the Balayage technique, and finished up with a trim, blow dry and style. She is skilled in her craft. I love my hair! It is exactly what I wanted!

I've been a client for about 3 years in the Alpharetta salon. I fell in love with Audrey and will not trust my hair to anyone else. She's so cool and she keeps my hair looking fresh and updated, yet she knows how I am not a big fan of change, so she has the right balance to play it safe enough where every time I look in the mirror I just yelp, "I LOVE IT!" I have no idea how she does it (great training, great intuition!) but she's jus the best. The overall salon is such a nice experience also!

After a terrible haircut at another salon, I booked an appointment with Meredith at the Milton location. Right away, I was impressed with the design, layout, and cleanliness of the salon. The receptionist was friendly and professional. This is a BIG deal for me because a lot of salons I've gone to have a real problem with their front desk. Receptionists often don't take the time to greet the person in front of them because they are on the phone and, dare I say, they can be real bi*%^y - I mean, snobby. But I have not had this problem at this salon. Meredith is FANTASTIC! I highly recommend her. She listened to what I wanted and was able to even out the mess of layers that the previous stylist had hacked into my hair. She is also very personable and laid back. BONUS - The hair washing stations are incredibly comfortable! The lip of the sink does not tilt your neck at a ridiculous and uncomfortable angle. Who knew that was possible?? Bottom line: I have found my new salon home.

I am from Chicago and I decided to have my hair colored and cut when I was visiting my daughter in Alpharetta. I read all the wonderful reviews about Joseph and Friends and booked an appointment with Thanh. Upon entering the salon I was greeted and offered a drink. Very friendly personnel and very pleasant environment. I did not wait even a minute past my scheduled time! Thanh came to get me at the exact time my appointment was scheduled. He spent time asking me what I want to do and gave me advice for the color and the cut. He showed me several pictures to make sure he understood what style I had in mind. Then he showed me three colors and gave me suggestions what would complement my skin tone. He was very meticulous coloring my hair but not all my gray hair had good coverage when he blow dried it. He was very apologetic and offered to redo it the following day. I guess sometimes grey hair can be very stubborn and things like this can happen as I was told by the other stylists and the receptionist. Thanh does wonderful scalp massage as he washes your hair and he had given me the best wash I have had in ten years of coloring! I am very happy with the service I received at J&F and will definitely visit Thanh again next time I am in Atlanta! I highly recommend this salon and stylist - Thanh!
