I saw Chelsey Wilkes - the owner of Bloom salon around mid August and was hesitant to write this review because I knew her from a previous work environment. However I am still dealing with the fallout of this haircut. I had been growing it out from another bad short cut - a fact that she knew. I guess while she was cutting my hair she wasn't paying enough attention and cut this chunk out of it. This isn't something I can easily hide as it is in the crown of my head. It was NOT there prior to my hair cut. I am so upset as anybody knows when you let your hair grow it takes time and now I have a large chunk that is 6" or more shorter than the rest of my hair. I caution anybody who doesn't want their hair thinned - as I requested she NOT do. This was the result of her trying to thin out my hair. I have a lot of hair but never asked her to add texture. This was the result. I didn't see it until I was home after having paid over $100 (including product and tip) for this haircut. I wish stylists would be honest with mistakes. I would like to make an edit for the response I received. Yes. I loved the FIRST cut I got from Chelsey after growing my hair out from the unrelated bad cut. However, she did not thin my hair the first time. She simply shaped it in a way that I asked her to. I was thrilled. So you can only imagine my extreme disappointment when this is the result of the second hair cut. You can put the word chunk in quotations, but the proof is in the photo. I was generous that I didn't pull all of the hair up so that you can see the full extent of the damage. This section of hair is not remotely blended. In fact - all of my hair is shredded. Thinned to the point where I have extreme fly aways. I like most people mess around with a new cut when I get home and I didn't see this until then, when I dried my own hair. I haven't worn my hair down since the day I had it cut. It's absolutely horrible.

Bloom is the only place I ever go to get my hair cut or colored. Everyone who works at Bloom is incredibly professional, caring and very friendly. I have had several different styles, colors and highlights done by the Bloom stylists over the past few years, and I have been happy with the results every single time. The stylists at Bloom are all very knowledgeable about their profession, and they demonstrate a highly level of skill and expertise in all that they do. They use high quality hair care products, and the salon itself is clean and well-maintained. I like that the stylists take the time to talk to you and understand the results you're hoping to achieve and explain to you what the process will be like. The staff at Bloom Hair Design are all wonderful people who love what they do. I would happily and confidently recommend Bloom to anyone.

When I’m in metro Atlanta this is my salon of choice. Years ago I worked in the salon industry as an account executive. I was in dozens of salons a week. This trickles down to reflect an atmosphere of kindness, positivity, honor and respect. You will not hear the cliche gossip or staff backbiting you come to expect in ordinary salons. I really hate to write a not so great review and I’m sure there are some good stylists here. But to get the color I wanted, I had to go back to JYL Craven. I showed Blake at JYL a picture and she gave me exactly what I wanted. When I showed the same picture to Bloom a few months earlier, I got a lecture about how “compromised” my hair was and that I needed to cut it off and let my roots grow to get an ombré. They wanted me to sign a waiver if I wanted it bleached all the way to the ends. Blake at JYL had a different opinion....she said nope, you don’t need to cut your hair off... Your hair is textured and is actually in pretty good shape ... which is exactly what I tried to tell them at Bloom. They were very nice at Bloom, except for the public lecture.

This review is under their old location, they have moved. Great place with a great positive energy. Everyone here is very talented but down to earth and friendly. They take great pride in their craft and it shows in the work that they produce. Having your hair cut here is a great experience, they have always taken extra time to get my hair just right focusing on every small detail. In the end they always ensure that the work they have produced is in line with what I want/line and will change it if I would like to take a little more off here or there, etc. I have had my hair cut my many different people/places, since going to Bloom I have never went anywhere else and don't plan to. Every time I have left Bloom after getting a haircut I feel more positive then when I went in. Great place and great people you should check it out.
