Updated review My first experience my hair was straighten. Everything seemed fine after one month or two the back of my hair gotten fizzy and short. I didn't think anything of it because I thought Andrew will be able to fix it. The second time I went back he thought I chopped my hair off. Which I told him it just became that way. He put the treatment back over my whole head. Little did I know I had breakage then but he didn't address the issues. My hair seemed fixed because it was straighten but the back was sort. The third time I had the same issue as the first time. Andrew ask me what did I do my hair? He said its better if I grew my hair out then come back. But I decided something is wrong with my hair . I ended up using a hair salon in Alanta GA called Junko hair studio. The stylist there are amazing. Akemi was quickly to tell me about my has breakage and it was over processed. I am in the middle of fixing my hair but I will travel and get my hair done at Junko hair studio. I texted Andrew asking if he can fix it or give me protein treatments to correct the damage but no response. That's okay I am cutting my ties now. If you can afford it I would take a trip to GA. They fix a lot of peoples hair that previous hair dressers mess up. Good luck guys!

Used to go to another hair straightening salon in Tampa. Wanted to get a second opinion so I went to Andrew Kim. Right away he was very professional and did a strand test to make sure it was safe for my hair. He did my straightening treatment and it was amazing and did not clash with my henna treatment! He even used his space lab hair equipment on me to dry my hair faster and safer! Will definitely come back to him and as a Plastic Surgeon will refer my patients to him!

This will be the most objective review for you all who are curious with permanent hair straightening in Tampa bay. I have had plenty experience with this, so please read. The first thing I did was contacting the man at Sensaer, sending him photos of my hair, as a pre-consultation type of deal. He gave me an estimated price (pretty expensive especially for the result I received) but I saw great reviews on Yelp and Google, so to me, it felt very justified. So, I scheduled my appointment, went in for a more in-depth consultation. It seems that the whole salon was not owned by him; he has his own rented room where he does his own services. He gave me a run test on the hair, which was great, but it wasn't necessarily accurate to other parts of my hair (different parts of my hair can differ in hair conditions). After that, I decide if I want to go through with the treatment or not, which I did because the test result did look nice at the time. In the midst of all of this- instead of speaking directly to me about my hair treatment I am about to receive, he proceeds to talk and shill about his story of his "space NASA" invention, his "dream" to do hair in space or whatever, which I did not care about. It was as if he was trying to distract me, or sway me into thinking this guy is a master or expert at what he does; like a psychological tactic. I did not appreciate this. At some point, he asked me how did I find out about him, I told him from the good reviews he had. He said he would love it if I also gave him a good review too, which made me very uncomfortable. To conclude: the man at Sensaer was a nice man, but the hair straightening did not last 1-2 months after. I have had this procedure done before overseas, and it lasted up to a year and a half. During that time, my hair would grow in (it grows fast) but the remaining hair that had the treatment would still be silky straight. This case, however, was not like my previous, positive experience. Sensaer is the worst hair straightening experience I've had ever; the experience, the result of the service, and the price point. If you are wondering about *Anna Bang, I've had my hair done at Anna Bang too, decent experience, better than Sensaer for sure, but still did not last/or had the same quality like the first time I had it done either. If you are new the straightening, then your results may appear very beautiful to you, as you have no experience. Keep doing your research, especially look for clients who have same/similar hair type as you! I highly suggest you do this procedure elsewhere. I have yet found someone/a salon actually good at what they do in Tampa/Florida. Still searching, but it looks like I might have to get it done either out of state or overseas again if I ever travel. Today I got my hair Japanese straightened for the first time. I wasn’t sure how the process works but Andrew explained everything and was very patient. He also pre-tested my hair with a strength test to make sure it was possible to treat my hair without damaging or frying it. I appreciated this because I have very color-processed hair and Andrew made sure it would stay healthy! My hair is extremely curly and thick and long, and I was amazed at how beautiful silky straight it turned out! It’s crazy, it’s so shiny and straight. Andrew is really funny and has a sweet personality! He joked and chatted with my parents lol. He also created a really cool patented space hair technology for hair straightening. I highly recommend Sensaer if you want gorgeous Japanese straightened hair!!!

I've been getting my hair permanently straightened since I was 16. I recently moved down to Tampa, FL and was looking for someone who could do my hair well and at an affordable price. I called Andrew Kim and he was very professional and when I asked about the pricing for my hair straightening he said he would need a consultation, which to me is a good sign. To me that shows he doesn't just quote a price before seeing the state of my hair. When I got to the consultation he did a strength test to make sure it was strong enough for the treatment and wouldn't break off through out the process. My hair came out beautiful, silky straight, and super soft. Will definitely be coming back for touch ups when my curly hair grows back out.

I went to Sensaer yesterday for the first time. I had done the Japanese hair straightening previously in Brooklyn, NY. I evaluated several options here in Tampa, FL before choosing Sensaer. I am glad I chose Sensaer. Andrew Kim is extremely friendly and did a great job with my hair. He kept me laughing the whole time I was there. Also, the treatment time is reduced by using the space dryer that he developed. And the price is very reasonable for this treatment. I completely recommend Sensaer and Andrew Kim!
