Hands down best place to get a men's cut in Boulder. No, they're not a cheap chain barber shop, so don't go in expecting to pay 10 bucks for a mediocre trim. They are a high quality barber, with a fun and friendly environment, where you can expect to get great service without going to your wife's salon and paying more money. To top it off, the owner is a stand-up dude that will always make sure you're happy with your experience.

Highly overpriced, I just wanted a basic fade and beard line up and it was near 80 dollars. Also my barber was very repulsive and awkward. The cut wasn't too bad, although the cut could've been done in half the time the barber took. Mediocre at best.

I hated my haircut here, I then texted my Barber asking if he could touch me up and he responded very rudely, telling me I would have to "Live with it" .I have never experienced someone being so rude parlayed with terrible customer service. It was especially shocking in an industry which relies so heavily on relationships. I can easily and confidently say that Truman lost a customer. The shop is overpriced for the sole reason that it is located on the famous "Pearl Street". In fact, I used to get haircuts from one of the barbers there for $15, now he charges minimum $30 plus tip. Overall awful experience.

I was extremely disappointed with the service and communication with guests. Starting from the fact that I wasn't offered to wash my head ( I don't know, maybe it is different in US, but in Russia noone would ever start barbering if a head is not washed). I showed a picture of my previous haircut to a barber and he started working. In the middle of a process he dropped his machine and I understood that something was wrong. In the end he turned me to a mirror and it was nothing like at the photo. My girlfriend asked to fix it a bit, but then some guy (senior barber I suppose) started to brag that they know better, picture looked terrible, they've been doing that for more than 50k hours (almost 6 years, LOL), and when my girlfriend tried to argue he started saying "Oh, so you are a barber. Are you a barber or no?" In a very rude and sarcastic manner. Finally they agreed to fix a mess on my head but still it was nothing like on the picture and nothing like a good hair cut. Giving 2 not 1 only for their apology in the end. Have no idea how this place got 4.9 on Google.

TL;DR Didn't feel welcome. Prices too expensive. Unprofessional. Blow-dry is without shampooing or wash. Only reason for two-stars is because Nick was friendly. To make it short, I called in for a haircut & a blow dry so the guy told me to go online and book the traditional haircut. My main goal was to get a blow-dry as I only needed my side hair trimmed. My appointment was 11:15, I arrived 11:14 & had to wait till 11:27 to start because my barber was still working with someone else, not cool. Honestly Nick was cool, but I didn't like the attitude of the other barber. I asked him if we could trim my beard and his response was I can't guarantee it, if we have time then yeah. I didn't like that, after we were done he trimmed my beard and didn't do the blow-dry so I asked him are we not going to blow-dry it? What's funny is that they have no place where you could shampoo your hair, so they basically cut your hair and then dry it with a blow-dry without cleaning it first. I ended up paying 60$ and tipped him 5$, so overall paid 65$ for a side-hair trim, quick beard-trim and no actual (blow-dry).

Hard to beat the Truman Barber Co. These guys are pros, and the shop has a great vibe. The cuts take longer than most, but given that you're walking around with whatever is on top of your head for weeks between cuts, it's worth the time. Plus, the time is enjoyable--there's usually good conversation and good music. In the end, you'll get a great cut at a decent price. One additional note: they are good with cutting kid's hair--patient, empathetic, and careful. A great barber shop that makes Boulder even cooler.

Today was my second visit and I have been telling every human being I come in contact with who needs a haircut not to go anywhere but here. It’s spendy, but only if you prefer a hack job at a chain. They are priced more than fair for the area, the shop has a great vibe and the barbers are all top of the line. I received a cut from a junior barber that when styled in the style that the barber gave me looks fine. However, when I went home and took a shower I realized that the sides were cut in a choppy fashion. It was a bad fade job and I'm not particularly happy about it for the price that I paid. Also the barber kept catching his comb on my ears, not enough to break the skin but enough to hurt during the cut. The atmosphere was nice, and the barber was pleasant to talk to. But I would rather have a silent cut and have the barber focus on his work than get a talkative and bad cut that hurt to receive.

Went here for the first time after a friend recommended it. I really liked both the haircut I received and the atmosphere in the shop. All of the barbers are dressed well and have still to go with the place. They play vinyl in the store and have a large variety so it is unlikely you will hear the same album as on a previous visit. I had Anthony cut my hair and he did a phenomenal job. He spent a lot of time on the hairline around the back and my ears and I could tell he was very detail oriented. It did take a little bit longer than my normal haircuts do because Anthony had a few other jobs there as well (greeting people, answering the phone, changing the record) but he explained they usually have someone there to answer the phone just not Sunday afternoons, plus that they were busier than usual. His personality and skills are great and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a good haircut. I will definitely be returning while I love in Boulder.

That was one hell of a cut. This was my first barber experience and I have to say I love the job Anthony did. He is very detail oriented. This will definitely be my go-to place when I'm passing through Colorado. It was a very premium feeling haircut. The actual shop was minimal and slick. The location is on Pearl Street, so parking is expected for that type of area.

I found this place searching Google, I chose Cole to trim my beard based on his photo and his mammoth beard. Some may find that strange but I figured he would know his trade based on his beard. He is a true master of his craft, I'm so stoked that I found him. My beard and fade have never looked better. He not only does the job but offers advice on how to up-keep between trims which is super helpful. I got to Cole for both beard trims and cuts now, I highly recommend him. Side note, they play good jams on vinyl, have classic barber chairs and have a positive vibe flowing.

I've been sitting with Anthony, the owner, for over a year. My hair is VERY difficult to cut but Anthony always does it right. I was amazed at how quickly he adapted to my hair structure and gave me a cut that not only I wanted, but that he could apply his expertise to. He is very attentive, social, and ensures that every barber in his shop follows the highest standards for service.

These guys usually give good cuts but they are also usually overbooked. I went in for cut and felt rushed off the chair because of an appointment behind me. My slot had been over just a couple minutes. The cut overall was good, but its always a good feeling to have the barber make sure you get exactly what you hope. You could tell the barber was hurrying. For what they charge you would hope for more. They have a good atmosphere and cool barbers, though. Its usually a good spot, and they have a lot of talented people working there.

Josh who is fairly new did a fantastic job, was very personable and I left feeling like he did everything i asked . However I did not ask very well. After heading back to work I called them back to explain my problem and their owner, Tony promptly asked me to come back in. As i was feeling hesitant, Tony did a wonderful job making me feel comfortable and did an amazing job with my hair. Tony was also really great about helping me with my dry scalp. Before I left a 3 star review but am changing it to 5 because they really did do an amazing job. Anthony did a great job with my Afro-hair and I am beyond pleased. The cut was flawless and the time he put into it truly showed that he cared. Even though he is not my main person (Carlee is my main girl and she just got hired), I would definitely schedule another appointment with him if Carlee (who is amazing) was not available. I definitely am going back here for my next appointment and I recommend Anthony and Carlee and the rest of the crew to anyone looking for a nice clean cut with no frills, great atmosphere, and even greater service. Truman Barber Co. is hands down the best option for a men's haircut in Boulder County. Every barber is incredibly friendly, attentive to all of the important details, and the atmosphere is top notch. While I've been going to Truman for about a year, I had my best experience during my last visit. I did not have an appointment and attempted to walk-in on a whim—the owner, Anthony, offered to stay late to cut my hair rather than turning me away. This barber shop is distrubingly overrated. I've been here around 9-10 times for haircuts, just to see what's so special about a $45 haircut for men. The answer? More pretentiousness. I've gotten my haircut by Anthony(owner), Asher, and Justin. Anthony decided to name-drop Edward Cullen and Kid Cudi on my first visit, claiming that he knew them. Who cares if you know celebrities? Seriously, that stuff just comes off elitist and pretentious. Asher was alright, but didn't always get my haircut the way I want it, and Justin made my lineup in the front literally diagonal. On top of the bad haircuts they never once cleaned my shoes or dusted the hair off of me after the cut. Aside from mediocre haircuts for an astronomical price, this place forces you to stare at the wall for an hour as you get your hair cut instead of -- I don't know, a mirror so you can see what you look like? They claim to give Brooklyn style haircuts, but I'm from NY and that just means a pretentious hipster style. If they opened this place in NY they would be run out of business by all the others giving haircuts for $15-$20. Find someone who gives you a good haircut for a decent price. NEXT.

Though it's a little more expensive than other barbershops, I always receive a sharp haircut. When I went in initially, all the barbers had good haircuts and well maintained beards. To a bearded man like me, that inspires confidence. When making an appointment online you can choose from different tiers of barbers based on their experience ranging from apprentices to a barber with decades of experience. The price of your haircut is based on which barber you book with. A mid-range barber will cost around $25 for a haircut. It's a little more pricey than most, but the quality of the cut made me happy with my purchase.

A few months back I moved to Boulder from Boston and was weary leaving my tried and true Boston barber. I couldn’t be more thankful that I found Truman Barber Co, and more specifically Anthony, who is the owner. Time and time again I’ve had truly great cuts by Anthony, and I’ve seen other patrons who see different barbers at Truman walk out with great haircuts as well. I don’t think you can go wrong with whichever barber you choose at this establishment. Truman holds all barbers to high expectations, and that work ethic shows in all the haircuts they provide. I personally love the straight razor shave of the back of my neck to finish every haircut. The atmosphere of the shop is awesome, and I’m always curious to hear what vinyl they’ll have playing when I walk in. I know I’m in highly skilled hands when I come for a haircut, and highly recommend this place to everyone looking for excellent barbers who know how to give you a very stylish cut.

Best damn barber shop in all of boulder period. You can get a hot shave if you want, or a badass haircut by the many talented barbers they have, and enjoy a nice beer while you're getting a hair cut. They are a little on the expensive side, but for what you get it is totally worth it. It is by appointment only, so make sure to call and set one up or drop on by. Easily the finest place in town to get a cut. Incredible atmosphere with a friendly well-trained staff. The gentlemen in there always have the best vinyl spinning, and make sure you are looking great before leaving the chair. I have never been disappointed, or felt unwelcome. Anthony is a wizard with a pair of clippers.

I grew up around the barbershop, as my late grandfather was an Italian barber in New York, and my mother is a tenured cosmetologist, among several other family members currently in the business. My experience at Truman was outstanding, the senior barber was exceptionally skilled, utilizing various tricks of the trade and industry techniques to accommodate the style that I wanted, all while providing great customer service. I left thoroughly impressed. Highly recommended. I will not go anywhere else, as long as I live in Boulder, unless my mother moves out west... nothing personal, mom! You’re still the best.

I booked my first appointment at Truman Barber Co. for a Traditional Haircut with Ryan to fix up a cut that I wasn't too jazzed about from another barber. All I can say is that this guy's an absolute pro, and if the other reviews are any indication, so is the rest of their crew. He asked me more questions than most barber's will, took his time, and obviously has incredible attention to detail. The shop has a subdued storefront on Pearl street, and the interior is kept simple, with a bit of modern charm attached to an old-school barbershop feel, including classic music on vinyl. You might be thinking "$40 and 45 minutes is a lot of time and money for a simple haircut," and you'd be right about that. It is a lot of time and money, but you won't find better service. I'd say it's worth it.

I scheduled a last minute appointment with Truman and it was hands down the best haircut I’ve ever received. I didn’t have to tell the barber what I wanted. He asked what I usually get and made some recommendations based on my hair type. Made a great product recommendations as well, showed me how to use it, wasn’t salesy at all. It was a great vibe in the shop, record player, cute dog, friendly people. Highly recommend!

I need to lead in with a story: I went for my first haircut there a few weeks ago and was originally disappointed with the results. I let Truman Barber Co know and was invited to get a free touch up by the owner, Anthony. I was expecting to have the touch up and leave, but it as it turns out, Anthony really didn’t have to fix anything. I had been styling my hair incorrectly, which Anthony thoughtfully walked me though the practice of fixing. He left me with a lot of valuable information about how my hair works and sent me off with a container of Bona Fide. It really couldn’t have been a better experience (especially considering that I came back somewhat disgruntled). Anthony didn’t just “fix” my hair and send me off, he turned the experience into a teachable moment for me which I greatly appreciate as a customer. This has certainly turned me into a loyal customer and I’ll be going here for all my hair needs!
