I've been waiting for 1 month to make sure I wanted to do an undercut. I did my research, pros/cons, YouTube videos....4 weeks...and decided YES...then came to 'find the right place'. I searched Google for stylists near me, and Shear Zen popped up as a promotion. I initially skipped over it and checked out options 1 - 5, then Shear came back up as #6...I hopped on their website, read some reviews, looked at photos...and decided to reach out! They do have pricing online, but I needed to ensure my estimation was indeed correct. I emailed the owner, Krista, to ask a few questions...she confirmed my thought (roughly 1 hour, $40). I called at 1130am and made an appointment for 3pm, same day. When I walked in, the place was very clean, modern, and friendly. Krista was the only one there at the current time, greeted me as soon as I came in (she was finishing with a client), and as soon as that customer left, "well, you must be Ashley, come on!" [Very friendly demeanour] I showed her a photo of the undercut I wanted, needed to also take off a couple of inches, long layers, and straightened! Not a problem! I got everything I wanted, even tho I was nervous! [I told her why I wanted an undercut, and she told me it was the right thing to do!] :-D Anyway, it was great! She is very professional, bought the space roughly 3 years ago, friendly, knowledgeable, and I'm so glad I chose Shear! You will be glad too, trust me!

Krista ruined my hair. I went in having beautiful long dark hair and all I wanted was some change. So I decided to get a balayage. After doing many searches, I mistakenly chose Krista at Shear Zen Salon. I was fooled by the experience she said she has and her giving me a 100 percent guarantee (her exact words) that she will give me exactly what I asked for. My natural hair is dark brown. The color that I asked for and the picture that I showed her, was in between golden brown and blonde (more brown than blonde), which was clearly shown in the picture. She firstly said the color was going to come out the very first time she bleaches it and it turned out an awful shade of ORANGE. She also trimmed the tips of my hair that same day, making one side 3 inches shorter than the other side, which I had to fix MYSELf. I came back the following week because she said she needed to finish (with toner) but instead, changes what she told me and decided to BLEACH my entire head again! All within the span of exactly one week. So she made it even worse. HALF OF MY HEAD IS COMPLETELY OVERPROCESSED (LOOKS WHITE) WHILE THE OTHER SIDE IS YELLOW. THE JOB ITSELF WAS DONE EXTREMELY POORLY! AND NOW I HAVE MY HAIR FALLING OUT AND SNAPPING OFF WITH THE SLIGHTEST TOUCH. I told her that same day that I was unhappy with my hair, and she told me to "wait a couple weeks for the color to settle and then come back" which was completely absurd because BLEACH has no color. And later that night, she sends me a message saying "at this point, I can't make you happy." Since I left this salon, every time I look at my once beautiful hair, I just cry. It took me 8 years to grow my hair down to my hips and because of all of the damages that Krista caused my hair, I had to cut my hair down to my chest. She never even apologized. She did give me a refund, but that does not come close to the hundreds of dollars that I have to spend on products in order to keep my fragile hair from snapping and falling out. Do not go to this salon. I also posted this review on Yelp. You will find pictures there.

Krista has been my hairdresser for 25 years. She also is my daughters hairdresser. I have never been disappointed with a cut or color. She does a great up-do. But her talent, color... she does AMAZING color. Krista has created a space that I feel comfortable coming to. You will not be disappointed.

Joann did an excellent job with coloring my hair . Thisi was made more difficult as she had to correct my color from another salon . My hair feels great and the cut and color are excellent .
