This was my first visit to Pompadours and stylist Stephanie Moore was great! I have fine-textured, frizzy, curly hair that really needs a good cut to help it curl it's best and have a flattering overall shape. Stephanie listened well, was fun yet relaxing to be around, and gave me the best cut I've had in years. She styled my curly hair well in the salon (I feel like that never happens!) and when I styled it at home myself it proves itself to be a good cut. I'm sending my whole family to her! The salon was clean, smelled great, and everyone I interacted with was professional and very friendly. I just can't even remember the last time I had such a nice hair experience.

Stephanie Marie did my highlights and she did wonderfully as was very friendly and even gave me a free sample for the split ends I'd complained about. The prices are so much better than others I had looked at, everyone was very nice, and if all the good reviews don't say something they were also voted best salon in Boulder. I was reluctant to write this review because the owner did go out of her way to try to resolve the issue, but I do believe that I am doing the right thing. Unfortunately, a few weeks back I had a horrible experience at this salon. I was looking for a new Aveda salon and thought I'd give Pompadours a try. I was scheduled with Brandon, who is actually a pleasant person, but seemed to be having a rough day. Although I showed up early for the appointment, Brandon was running almost an hour and a half late. I waited and was informed that he was running behind because one of his customers was being picky about her color job. Long story short, because he was running so late, my appointment was rushed (even though I was informed that all of his appointments got pushed back and I'd have the entire allotment for my cut). I didn't receive a thorough consultation, nor did I receive the treatment that I requested. I was informed that he is usually a wonderful stylist, but wasn't having the best day. Sadly, my hair looked absolutely atrocious upon completion. My father even told me that it looked like a "rat's nest" and that it looked "like someone combed my hair with a rock". While the owner was able to make it look much better, I ended up having to cut about a foot off of my hair, when I was only expecting a couple of inches. It took me years to finally grow my hair that long and thick, not to mention the fact that I have spent hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on haircuts, hair-care products, and supplements to grow healthy, flowing hair. Not only did I have to cut about a foot off of my hair, Brandon attempted to texturize my hair too (which I did not ask for). Instead of texture, it just looks like I have a TON of split ends and breakage. I do thank the owner for trying to fix my hair, she was quite accommodating, but nothing can fix the years and the money that I spent on growing it out. Nor can it give me my confidence and comfort back. I hope that the owners do what is necessary to ensure that their stylists are trained properly and customers are treated with more consideration. Despite my experience, the salon was nice and the people were friendly. I wish everyone there the best!

Minhwa gave me an amazing haircut. I love the color and the cut, she provided very honest advice about what she thought would look good and she was right! She was busy but I didn't feel neglected. She worked very quickly and was very thorough. The haircut/color ended up being WAY more expensive than I had originally expected so I would ask the stylist to clarify the different costs. Minhwa was really fasntastic. Also, big shout out to Katie who is an apprentice but was really helpful and kind. Pompadours remains my favorite place to get my hair cut in Boulder. Brandon has a very bad attitude and refused my appointment for being 7 minutes late even though I called to let them know because I underestimated time to get there. I asked to dye my entire hair blonde but instead got sparsely placed highlights, and then was charged 160 bucks for it. Katie was super nice and she did a great job with my hair cut, but she wasn't transparent about the price and it most certainly wasn't worth 160 bucks+tip for something that I didn't even really wanted. Super disappointed and I won't be back.
