J Gregory is always my go to oribe hair care products. They are always fully stocked and honestly the only place outside of blush that gives great blowout. All stylist were trained to use an error proof blowout technique that gives the look I love everytime. My girl was kayla i believe. I was referred by a friend to come see Megan at J Gregory Salon and I couldn't be happier that I did. Upon arrival I was immediately greeted and assisted by the pleasant staff who all had a smile on their face. Megan was finishing up with a previous client so I sat in the waiting area and admired what I saw as I looked around. Every work area was neat and organized, the unused chairs were freshly wiped down and the floor was immaculate. It looked as though someone constantly kept it swept. All things you would never see at your generic salons or barbershops. I knew right then that I was making the right decision. After a few min Megan came up to me, introduced herself, and told me she was ready to cut and style my hair. As she trimmed up my edges and evened everything out we talked about anything and everything. Megan is such an intelligent and inspirational woman as well as quite gorgeous I must say. She was extremely professional and meticulous as she went about her way, managing to accurately cut my hair to perfecting all within a set amount of time. Not once did I feel as if she was rushed. After all was said and done my haircut looked perfect. Megan was even nice enough to show me a new style that she had suggested and I absolutely love it. I was never the type of man to style my hair, just cut it to look nice and repeat, but Megan changed my mind completely. Now that she has shown me a new style to call my own I find myself tending to my hair more often. Overall J Gregory Salon was the most uplifting and positive experience I've ever had at a salon/barbershop and for a great price at that! I will definitely be back for any and all hair needs in the future and I continue to tell everyone I know. If you need your hair cut, styled, colored, or even just a touch up this is the place to go. Ask for Megan as your stylist and I promise you will not be disappointed. Keep up the good work Megan you're amazing at what you do! :)

Came here today to get my hair fixed by Shyre. She did a great job with the color, making my hair look more natural. I came in with grayish looking highlights and lowlights that she turned into a really beautiful warm blonde brown mix. Thrilled about the price too. $120 for color, toner, and deep conditioning treatment. I will definitely be coming back.

This salon is a JOKE!! It is incredibly unorganized and the management is terrible. I made an appointment for hair and makeup for my wedding day. I wanted to make sure that I looked my best because I have no talent when it comes to hair and makeup. I called the morning of to confirm my appointment and they gave me pointers for my hair and face. When I showed up I worked with Thea (who is great and did an amazing job on my hair) but when it came time to do my make up they suddenly had no record of my makeup appointment. All of the stylists were booked and I was told that I was out of luck. When I talked to management I was told to just apply some mascara and run down the aisle. They gave me a 15% discount on my hair and told me to recommend the salon to my friends. Since I had made an appointment to get my make up done I had nothing with me and had to go to Walgreens and try to find something to put on before my wedding. DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON!!!!!

I went in for my first Diva cut. Lilly was very sweet and explained everything she was doing. She also gave me some awesome tips on how to care for my curls. The staff were amazing. They offered coffee water or hot tea. The environment was comfortable and cozy. Will definately go back and i drove 3 hours to trybout this salon. The prices were also very reasonable. Thanks Lilly.

I have been seeing David for over a year now and I refuse to go anywhere else. He is by far one of the best stylists/colorists I've ever had. He listens to me but is very honest about things. He never let's me walk out of the salon with something he knows I won't love but he's willing to try to do almost anything for me. I could not be happier and I've referred several people to him. The front desk girl, Lisa, is also the biggest sweetheart! She gets to know the clients and makes you feel so welcome when you walk in the door. This place is such a gem!

Carrie gave me an AWFUL perm. It is weak, lazy curls, messy looking, and she didn't listen to what I had to say. I have had three other perms and I liked them all. My hair was more curly before I let her perm it. There is no root volume and it isn't curly. I do not like it all. I can't even scrunch it and slowly blow dry it into curls. I also have never had a perm that damaged my hair so bad. I'm stuck straightening my hair, curling my hair, or wearing it in buns. Never get a perm done by her.

Horrible haircut by Donna Thomson. My hair was done very choppy. I asked for long layers and instead I got a terrible short choppy cut that I would expect from a level 1 stylist, not from a top stylist that charges $64. I have to hair spray the front hair back to look acceptable. I also had low lights and highlights done and they were very uneven at the roots. My hair was also fried. The only reason I give 2 stars instead of one is because of her assistant mixed great colors. However, I would never go back!

Oh man, where do I start! I have curly hair and it's really hard to find a stylist who knows how to work them! After a few searches I stumbled upon the name Katelyn! Read nothing but greatest! So I went a head and booked a consultation! During my consultation, I explained to her what I wanted, showed her some pictures and she was confident and knowledgeable in knowing what I wanted and need for my hair! So she booked me an appointment right Away! She was able to work with my schedule, so it was perfect :) The day of my appointment came and she gave me the perfect DEVACUT! Exactly what I wanted! I love it! My hair feels amazing, so healthy! She used devacurl products which worked wonders with my hair! Would highly recommend her to anyone that has curly hair! I will never go back and would never recommend to my friends. The color job was terrible... much too warm for my cool features. You would think their colorist have some clue about color theory but no! I called to see what could be done to get it fixed. The lady at the desk told me I “waited too long” to say Im unhappy with the color but assured me I would get a call back. Never did. The stylist couldn’t be bothered. Also, they use “new techniques” which have resulted in my otherwise straight, manageable hair becoming a terrible matted rats nest which they have to yank a comb through, which is terribly uncomfortable and I’m watching my hair fall to the floor in clumps as it’s ripped from my head. One time, it was so bad, there were two ladies trying to rip brush from my hair which was so terribly matted into my hair. This place is just awful. And they charge high prices for bad color, bad techniques, and terrible customer service. Never again.

I came in with that traditional old, ugly tons of layers haircut; Andrea was super amazing and professional. She took her time to really understand what I wanted and really blended everything. I was given one on one training how to better fix my hair with products and it was very helpful. I'm the pickiest person and I give her 5 stars for everything: haircut, professionalism, knowledge! I've scheduled a color appointment already. Andrea is the lady to see for an amazing style. Adding to my review: I ended up going with a different stylist after Andrea as she was very booked, no complaints on that. It’s taken me a while to be able to come back and write this review as it was such a nasty experience. I saw a stylist, Holly for quite some time and my hair was always wonderful. I had gone pretty blonde with baylage and decided to go back fully brown, I didn’t love it and went back in a couple of months later to begin to lighten. During my initial conversation I could tell Holly was annoyed I wanted to lighten again. She began telling me we would need many appointments to achieve what I had originally. I told her well my hair lightened pretty fast and we achieved that look in 2-3 sessions and I wasn’t worried. She continued to almost scream at me and was super condescending, with an overall just nasty tone. It was absolutely mortifying. The other customer that was in the chair next to me kept looking at us and Holly continued to look at her coworker and almost bring her into the situation, like I was so stupid and she needed that co-sign; like can you believe this stupid customer. I was talked down to and it was totally mortifying. I recall telling Holly it wasn’t that serious and let’s just get started and see how things went. She took a super long time mixing my color and I could hear her talking to her co-worker in the back. While I couldn’t hear words, I could hear tone and it was absolutely unprofessional. I knew she was back there talking about me and she came out almost smug afterwords. I honesty should have just left then but as we know finding anyone good to your hair is seemingly impossible in this town. My hair was fine afterwards, no complaints but I immediately called my mother to let her know what had happened and how I felt. She told me I should absolutely never go there again but I felt so conflicted. It took me forever to find a good colorist and stylist and on the other hand what happened was totally inappropriate. I waited a few weeks before deciding to give her another try, maybe she was having a bad day. After I scheduled I was called back the next day to be told I was not allowed to schedule with her again and would need to go somewhere else, since the only other stylist that would suit my needs no longer took new clients. I was totally shocked that a professional could act like that to her client and then turn it around on me. Here I was trying to be decent and give her the benefit of the doubt. No one ever called me back even though I did request a manger to call. I don’t want anything from this as I’ve moved on but I feel it’s important to let others know your experience with a business, whether good or bad. This situation was handled very poorly and Holly was absolutely unprofessional and rude to me. I hope that no one ever has to go through such an embarrassing and emotional situation like I did here with this business and that perhaps she’s able to grow from this, if she ever sees this review.

Critical Thinking

My first haircut and highlights were amazing. So I went back last week. I wanted an A-line cut, but long enough to be able to have a ponytail. I made sure to explain how important this was to me, since I get up at 5AM every morning and have to get ready within a few minutes. So this time I got a decent cut and colour, BUT some spots the blond turned into white, and it's impossible to do a ponytail. Now I walk around with a $134 haircut, but it looks messy and off since I don't have time to style it for 20 minutes in the mornings :(

I came in for a cut here with a mid level stylist yesterday. The stylist was very kind, as were the other employees, however when it came time to cut my side swept bangs, she cut them 2” too short from what we had discussed. What I find upsetting is the one and only thing I stressed and told her that I did not want to happen is “go too short” as I’ve had so many bad experiences in the past with stylists not listening. This solidified my fear unfortunately:/ I know it was a mistake because we talked about how I part my hair on either side so she was going to cut them down the middle. When I part my hair down the middle, I have an inch of hair that is an awkward 2” shorter than the other side! :( my wedding is in June and I’m just hoping they grow out in time for the wedding:( beautiful salon and really kind employees, but for the money and time it took, I really am dissapointed that I am now stuck with a chunky part in my bangs that is really hard to disguise:(

I finally booked an appointment with Karla at J Gregory and, after 3 appointments, I could not be more pleased with my experience so far. The atmosphere at J Gregory is so inviting and relaxing. Karla is so kind and such a joy to talk to. I am not knowledgable about hair at all but she always knows exactly what hair style I am asking for. She gives me styling and product tips for my specific cut and hair type but is never pushy about selling products to me. I had a consultation where I told the stylist I wanted to young up my gray hair. I said I wanted purple and black added. She said she could do that so I made my appointment. Then she got hurt so I saw someone else. My purple and black suddenly turned into this big ordeal! The new stylist was calling the other one and long story short they talked me into this reddish color streaks. I tried to be ok with it but as time went on I hated it! I seriously wanted to get back my 20% tip. I paid a lot for that! It must have been a half, or whatever they call it because I really didn't see that much of a difference with the black. Recently I went to JC Penneys and got a full WITH my purple and black!! Without all the fuss! I love my hair now!!! My full head of gray kinda bothered me but now I have some spunk back. I will give credit for the hair cut. She did do good with that but not enough to ever go back there.

Overpriced and technician doesn't know difference between Ombre and Balayage. I wanted balayage for a subtle natural looking highlights, there is no subtlety about my haircolor, medium brown on top and bleach blonde on the bottom. There were also chunky highlights underneath my hair in back. Haircut was mediocre. She also used foils on the front to highlight face and there were lines from the foils. Haircut and dye cost over $280.

If you get there early they won't take you. BUT! i went to Holly and she is worth the wait. I've had long hair all my life and had a procedure that made me cut all my hair off. I've gone through some bad hair cuts and high maintenance ones but wanted to keep my short hair. I showed her one pic of what i wanted and told her what i was willing to put up with and i couldn't stop starring at myself for the first time! Plus i could do it myself! I highly recommend her! But I've heard great things from everyone who cuts hair there. They have quality product and the staff is very friendly. The prices aren't to high to scare you away. Brought in a picture for an a-line shoulder length cut with Katelyn. Was told by Katelyn she was going to leave it a little longer, and that she would do any adjustments later if I wanted it shorter. When she finished the cut I realized it was several inches above my shoulder, and there was no angled cut as I had requested. It was a well done cut, though not at all what I requested, so I decided to give it a week or so to see how I adjusted. I called back less than two weeks after my appt deciding I still did want the angled cut I originally asked for. The receptionist told me Katelyn was on vacation for two weeks and would call me when she got back. After waiting and receiving no call, I called again and was given a redo appt, only to be called several hours before the appt to be told I would be charged for a new haircut since I didn't call within 2 weeks of my original appt, though I did and she was simply not available. I'm very disappointed with receiving a haircut far from what I requested, and misleading and inaccurate communication. Would expect more from such a highly recommended salon and stylist.

Dear Annie, It has been a few months now since I came into J.Gregory’s and asked you to remove all the color from my hair. I told you that I wanted it to be WHITE. I showed you this picture. I said “like the WHITE from this picture” at least a half dozen times. The first time I came in you dumped a dark ash in my hair that made me look green and really old. When I called back the next day and said it wasn’t what I asked for and hated it you said you would fix it for an additional $50.00. When I came back in you pulled out the ash and left it that way. My hair was a pale wheat color when I arrived and it barely to shades lighter now. When I was leaving you made certain to tell me that if I decided I didn’t like it and came back for you to ‘FIX’ it again you would have to charge me full price. Unbelievable. You had two shots at my hair and now it is so over processed there is absolutely NOTHING that I can do about it and it still isn’t what I asked for. Did you actually believe that I would EVER let you touch my hair again? I just wanted out of there. Now… every time I look in the mirror I think about you… the two trips and the $200.00 that I spent to get my hair brutally over processed and STILL DID NOT GET WHAT I ASKED FOR… and by the way the $25.00 the first time and the $10.00 the second time was a courtesy tip which I so regret. Trust me when I tell you … you did not earn it. This insult plays over and over in my mind and today is my breaking point. I AM SO DISGUSTED. The next time someone asks you…”Can you bleach my hair WHITE?” JUST SAY “NO”… I am so appalled by you right now. You destroyed EVERYTHING I was hoping for. Please STOP representing yourself as an ‘Expert Colorist’ Because you ARE NOT! Sick… Disgusted… Angry… Sad… Andrea Harding I attached the picture I showed you.

I understand that sometimes people are running late. I want a stylist to spend enough time with me, and not do a rushed job. But you can't leave someone sitting there for 25 minutes past their appointment time without offering some kind of consolation. A discount, a reschedule, something. It may have ended up being more than 25 minutes, I'll never know because I left. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK. There are TONS of places to get a haircut in Colorado Springs. Maybe I'll find one that respects my time.

I believe she primarily does mens hair but none the less she is lovely to speak to as well as professional. So if your a man who needs to get cleaned up set up an appointment. You won't regret it! When I called J Gregory Salon almost two years ago and explained my situation about the current condition of my hair, I was told by the receptionist that anything Greg touches turns to gold. He fixed the brassiness in one visit. I have continued to get excellent, personal, professional service each visit since. If you want a coupon based bargain haircut, this may not be the place for you. If you want a haircut that matches the price, It is well worth it!
