I moved to CA a year ago & Martin has cut/colored my hair 4-5 times. He really listens to what I want & I always walk out of the salon looking & feeling fabulous. I like to wear my hair short & Martin is the first stylist that's been able to deliver on the look I want. An extra bonus is that the grow out on my hair looks as good as when I first got it done. A true professional, thanks Martin!

I am so happy with my hair! Martin did a fabulous job with both the color and the cut! I have been searching a long time for someone who can color and cut my hair the way I would like. Martin is amazing! He takes his time and explains the hair color process, the cut, and the price. He works with only one client at a time so you and your hair get his full attention. I am loving my new hair color and cut. He is also easy to contact and responsive with any questions or concerns. I highly recommend him. The Ooh La La salon is also very nice. It is casual and comfortable, but also very clean. All the stylists seem professional and the receptionist is on the ball and helpful.

Never a "Bad Hair Day" when Martin Rodriguez is your hair stylist. He does any color any cut and doesn't waste your time, you're in and out of the salon quickly and lookin fab! Making an appointment is easy, just call, email or text him and he responds ASAP with an opening.

Martin is the only person on the planet that I trust to do my hair. Like many other women, I have a history of tragic hairstyles--mom's home-cut that made people think I was a little boy, genius home perms that turned my already curly hair into a wild bird's nest, experiments with boxed color when I was a teenager--you name it. As an adult, I went through a pattern of trials where I would catch a glimmer of hope in trying a new stylist only to be disappointed and driven back into despair. This may seem overly dramatic to those women that have easy hair. But those that still cringe when thinking about the history of their hair experiences, they know it is no joke. Prior to meeting Martin, I resigned my hair to a short, manageable bob haircut. My girlfriend was a stylist and she would cut my hair on her front porch. It was good enough, and by that point I was satisfied with "good enough." Unfortunately my girlfriend/stylist moved out of state, which could have been the last straw that sent me to baldness. Luckily I found Martin before I had resort to hair clippers. Needless to say, I was not thrilled about letting yet another stylist try to tame my unruly locks. I had tried everything, including those expensive Newport Beach places that give you latte's when they set you under the hairdryer. The latte didn't make my hair look any better and neither did the ridiculous price. So I'm sure I had a bitter, suspicious attitude when I first sat down in Martin's chair. We started out with a simple haircut, nothing fancy and no color. But I immediately started getting compliments on my hair. This was a new thing. I hadn't gotten compliments on my hair since I was a tiny child with Shirley Temple curls that all the old ladies loved to admire. So I got a little more trusting and let Martin do a couple of highlights--a couple and that's it. But I kept getting compliments, which naturally encouraged me to feel adventurous. Soon, with Martin's help, I was enjoying my hair. I used to look longingly at other women's hair and wish that I was so lucky. Now I know that the luck is not always being born with easy hair, but in finding the right person to work with what you've got. Martin has never let me down. In fact, he caters to all my quirks and preferences no matter what. He truly stands by his work and wants all of his clients to walk away feeling good about their hair. That is a rare thing to find in any product or service. I don't trust anybody else to do my hair.

My hair hasn’t looked and felt this good since forever! Martin gave me my confidence back, delivering what other stylists and colorists said “can not be done” with my hair! Martin came up with a beautiful blend of blonde coloring (highlights and shades, etc) that I’ve only seen in childhood pictures of myself! The color and style he gave me makes me feel younger and gets compliments everywhere I go! Martin gave me a new cut and style that I’ve only seen in salon magazines! I’ve always had “wash and go” styles; didn’t think I could pull off anything else. But Martin gave me a style that is very ‘smart’ looking yet quite simple to maintain. And my hair looks as good on the hiking trails as it does at a dinner party. Who knew?! Martin’s personal attention to detail and VIP treatment extends beyond the salon appointment! He worked around what I needed from the start. Before my first appointment, I was hesitant to text him directly (as it encourages on his website). To my surprise, he answered promptly; asked for current pics of my hair and then set an appointment for just days away because I wanted to look my best for a special occasion. My husband LOVES my new look. The special occasion look is now my everyday look - I LOVE IT!

Martin keeps up with the latest trends and techniques and innovates new techniques and hair products as well. you can tell that Martin is very passionate about what he does with color and cuts he is truly amazing. i have been blonde to red to blonde and every cut color and style is truly a masterpiece. i know that i can sit in Martin's chair, tell him what i want and trust him to the Nth degree that I don't ever have to worry about a bad haircut or color. Martin listens to what his clients want, he is accommodating with scheduling appointments and truly cares about his work. with all that said, i highly recommend Martin Rodriquez as an expert colorist and stylist. Don't just take my word for it, try him out for yourself...you will be happy you did!

I had been seeing the same hair stylist for the past 10 years while living on the East Coast - someone who I had a close relationship with and who knew me and my hair so well! So you can imagine making the big move to So Cal this year, I was nervous to find a new hair stylist, wondered if I'd ever have a good connection to someone who could make my hair stand out, and most importantly find someone who is very talented with color and who is willing to try fun color combinations for my never ending color changes each season. After seeing Martin's reviews, I wanted to give him a shot and I'm so glad I did! He is very passionate about style and color and is fabulous with his color painting skills. I never thought I would try anything other than foil for highlights and ombre but his "artwork" looks so natural and the color combinations are beautiful, I am now converted from the stripy zebra I used to be. Martin listens to my concerns and is upfront and honest about what is needed at the moment with my hair and what we can wait to do during the next appointment. He makes it clear that 1 appointment may not fix everything and that the perfect color combinations may come out over time. I've seen him for 3 appointments and I love how I look every single time, the compliments don't hurt either :-) He is very talented and passionate about educating how to style and care for your hair and is an advocate in the hair community helping to educate the most current painting skills...not to mention he is great person to get to know!

Wouldn’t trust any one else to do my hair . Martin is very professional, knows color , and is just amazing and good at what he likes to do. My hair is very hard to work with and I have been more than satisfied and happy with the results when Martin is done with my thick , long course hair . I really recommend going to him if you want your hair done right and he is awesome in color correction. I've gone to Martin Rodriguez at least five times now, and each time has been a great experience. Martin is very experienced and you can tell that he is passionate about his profession. He really knows what he's doing when it comes to coloring hair. Although my hair still looks natural, the combination of colors he uses really makes it stand out a lot more, and it brightens up my whole face. One of my favorite things about going to Martin is that he uses slightly different colors on my hair every time I see him, based on the season. Another reason I enjoy going to him is that he uses organic hair coloring products, so I can actually breathe during the process without inhaling tons of bad chemicals. He's also done a really great job with layering my hair. He's very personable and genuinely wants to educate and help his clients. On my very first appointment with him, he spent about 20 minutes giving me tips on how to style my hair at home. The way I see it is that you can of course go to another hair stylist and get a style that looks pretty good but is generic and maybe not the absolute best look for you.... or you can go to Martin, and have him help you figure out what looks best on you.

Don't trust these so called reviews about being top hair colorist in Orange County. This was the single worst experience ever with my hair. I went in for highlights and came out with ORANGE hair, and even the orange hair was a different orange on top then on the bottom. It was so bad I couldn't go out in public afterwards. I had to go to another professional Salon a couple of days later to do a color correction just so I could go out in public and will have to go a second time in a few more weeks to have the low lights put in because he just died it one awful Orange color. To make it worse he charged over $300 for this monstrosity and has the gall to call himself a professional hairstylist. I asked for a refund and didn't get the decency of a response. Thankfully my bank reversed the transaction. His license should be revoked. I will be filing a complaint with the State Licensing Board next. And to add insult to injury all he did during the entire visit was brag about how wonderful he was and how he knew everything.
