I know that all work is done by students but still....
Haircut review first:
I went and had a haircut and a shave there last night and both came out really bad. The fade was done unevenly, I have strips of longer hair on the right rear quadrant, where the hair was supposed to come to a point at the back of my is about 2 inches of center towards the right side, I have lines on the back of my head where the clippers dipped into the hair, on the right side at the bottom it's higher than on the left and most importantly of all I asked for a style which would not require the use of any product on my hair as I just don't like applying them and I especially can't stand how it feels on my head but I still was given a style that requires me to apply pomade so that I can comb over the longer hair on the top of my head to cover my growing bald spot. I specifically told the barber student that I didn't want a style like that but that's what he did anyway. Not good!
Shave review...
I've never had an old fashioned shave at a barber shop so I thought I'd try it out. While I've never used a straight razor in my life I'm pretty sure I could have done better than he did, heck a blind man could have done better! I was cut many times and the shave was really rough. He could have left the heated towel on my face longer than 2 minutes to help soften the hair up. When I walked out it looked like I'd gone through a windshield chin first! While I can't post pictures here on this forum I will most certainly be posting them on Yelp so you can judge for yourself.
While I didn't have to pay for either of these services monetarily I certainly paid much more than I should have in pain and blood during the shave. Even though I walked in the door with hair down to my shoulder blades and a beard down to the top of my stomach I don't think that should mean that I receive a hair cut that I'll have to go elsewhere to have fixed and let my face heal up over the next week or so.
Another thing that really bugs me is that the student introduced himself as Jerry however when he emailed me the before and after pictures the email address is connected to an Alberto. Was he trying to deliberately conceal his identity because of the hack job he did? I'll let the reader be the judge of that. I will never recommend anyone to go here and I will most certainly not be going back unless they offer to have one of the instructors fix this terrible hair cut. If the cuts were any deeper than they are I'd seek out the services of an attorney.
