Before finding Metropolis, I jumped around to different barbers in NWA but never found a shop that was completely satisfying. After meeting Scarlett Howell and getting my first cut at Metropolis, I was immediately hooked. I've been going now every two weeks for a little over a year and love every experience. Not only are the Men's cuts outstanding, Metropolis has great prices, every employee is extremely friendly, inviting and promotes great customer service. Metropolis Salon is the only salon in NWA that I would recommend to friends and family. If you're looking for a salon in NWA and want a great experience every single visit, you need Metropolis Salon in your life!

This is the first salon I have been to that has such a calm atmosphere and very welcoming. Nice to sit back and relax after a long day at work, have a beer while getting your hair done! How disappointing. I can't even give Metropolis one star. I made my appointment on Tuesday for the upcoming Saturday. It's an hour drive for me - 2 hours before my appointment the receptionist, Carson, called and cancelled my appointment. She did not even try to book me with another stylist and she was not particularly nice. Very snooty. What poor service; what a poor business practice to cancel on your client and not accommodate them with another stylist. What a shame.

Had a great experience at this salon. Calley colored my hair & was super friendly. When I wasn't 100% satisfied with the color (I was going platinum and wanted it especially white), she allowed me to come back a few days later at no charge until my hair looked exactly as I wanted, at no extra charge. She and every other worker were extremely professional and the only thing I'm sorry about is not discovering this salon sooner!

Let's just say, I have difficult hair. It's very thick and coarse and when someone screws up my hair, you can tell. So needless to say, I am VERY picky about what salon I go to and the stylist that cuts my hair. I have been going to Julie at Metropolis Salon for a couple of years now and I wouldn't go anywhere else! She is a great stylist and is very attentive to the needs and wants of her clients. If you are looking for a stylist, definitely make an appointment!

I’ve been getting my hair cut at Metropolis for probably 15 years or more, back when they started over by the Walton Arts Center. All of the staff is incredibly professional and helpful and really listen to ideas customers have about hair. But more importantly, they are highly trained at everything they do. They are awesome at both men’s and women’s cuts, hair coloring, makeup; everything really. They have stylists that can go on site for weddings and events. Highly recommended!

Julie gave me an amazing haircut, a blowout that lasted 2 days and an Olaplex deep condition treatment which was just what my hair needed after a river float. Before I scheduled with Julie I did quite a bit of research on salons in Fayetteville and determined that Metropolis is one of the best salons in town, and Julie one of the best at cuts. And she did not disappoint! When I scheduled I left the particular deep conditioning treatment open-ended, and Julie suggested one of the cheaper treatments since my hair is in pretty good shape (I don't heat style or do color). I really appreciate her thoughtfulness in suggesting what would be best for my hair instead of pushing the more expensive treatments, which is an experience I've had at other salons. Julie is a talented stylist and fun to talk to while she works her magic--she has great energy. Her shampoo technique is top notch and this is the first salon where my neck was comfortable in the shampoo chair. She gently asked me what products I used as we began but was never pushy about getting me to buy anything. I had planned to purchase a new shampoo and conditioner and I love the Olaplex she suggested; I'd had my eye on this line for awhile and Julie's explanation of how to best use these products was very helpful. I wouldn't have known this had I just made the purchase from Sephora. After the cut she used some Bumble and Bumble styling products and sent me home with some samples to try out. I can't recommend Julie and Metropolis Salon enough!

I've absolutely loved my experience at Metropolis. Not only are the haircuts top quality for the money but all the employees are very friendly and helpful. I've had a hard time finding good quality men's cuts in NWA. Most of the places around here are geared toward women, and the men's cuts aren't quite right, but I've been happy with my cuts every single time I go in, and I'm a regular every two-weeker. I've had the pleasure of recommending most of my friends and family to go to Metropolis, and ALL of them have been very happy; men, women, young, and old alike. From the more experienced stylists to the just starting off, everyone at Metropolis are amazing.

My experience was absolutely dreadful. Unfortunately for me, I went back another 3 times and each experience became more disappointing than the first. I should have known not to return after my first $150 color charge didn't look any different than when I walked in. After the second appointment which turned into 4 hours was the same look, I was still expected to pay in full with no apology. I went back again hoping the girl would make it right and she didn't. Again I left unhappy and was told it was my own fault. I went to another local salon and within the first treatment, received the hair color I had asked for. Funny how that happens, huh? Not only was the staff at metropolis unprofessional but so was the management. The staff talked poorly of the new female manager. All of them were unfriendly. I will never go back nor will I refer a friend to this place.

I've been going to Metropolis for nearly seven years now. The thing about hair is that you trust your stylist with a big part of you; as a customer, you also form a relationship with your stylist. Needless to say, one covets this interaction and chooses wisely. In my course of finding a salon, when I find one I like, I stick with it. Therefore, I found Metropolis while I was still in college and haven't left since. Scarlett, Julie, Edith, Lindsay, Claire...the entire staff is tight knight and wants what is best for the customer. I have lost hair, gotten extensions, cut hair, colored hair, done the whole bit..and so appreciate the care and time Metropolis takes when I call. Even when I wanted my hair blonder or darker, or needed this or that, the crew is there to help! You are in good hands, not just in hair, but will be surrounded by superb humans (and awesome listeners).

My daughter's hair is beautiful, but at the consultation I was told it would be between $200 - 230 and that I needed to pay a $50 deposit that would be applied to the total charge. The total ended up being $280 which seems a little excessive to me. We have had all types of things done to her hair over the years, and it has never been over $225 w/tip including when her hair was nearly to her waist now it's at her shoulders. I called back to ask questions since I wasn't able to be at the appointment, and Morgan the girl who answered the phone said my daughter lied to them about having permanent dye in her hair at the consultation, and since they were lied too, the stylist had to take additional steps. I was at the consultation, my daughter did tell the stylist about the last time she had her hair dyed, and I don't appreciate their representative calling my child a liar. I won't ever set foot in that place again not because of the costs which I do feel was excessive, but I understand if they had to use more color or toner than originally planned. The only reason is because of the poor customer service from their front desk person. You don't have to call someone a liar to explain why there was an additional fee.

Jess colored my hair from a brassy orange/pink with are really nice dark brown. It's beautiful! I'll miss my brassy orange/pink. But! I'm growing my hair out and I wanted a nice even color similar to my natural color. I am one of the unfortunate with light barely there eyebrows and this new hair color makes them stand out a bit! As I am growing my hair out she kindly cut minimal and it looks great and I feel like it's on the right track for growing out...even with it being cut! Very pleased! Thank you Jess!!! Such beautiful and wonderful hair stylists here and very helpful. I usually do not let anyone color nor cut my curly hair cuz of my curls but they knew just how to. Very professional and products they use is topline stuff, pretty awesome atmosphere too besides the wine served lol

Amazing! I followed my stylist to this salon and am happy with the environment. The staff is friendly and helpful. I have naturally dark hair and have been lightning my hair for 2 years. Before we start a session we go over what I am wanting to do and what Edith believes my hair can do in that session. I always leave with my hair feeling and looking better than what it did going in.
