Graeme is fantastic. He squeezed me in same day right before Thanksgiving, and I couldn’t have been more pleased with both my cut and his professionalism. It’s rare to find a stylist that listens and gives you EXACTLY what you want (even if they disagree with your choice, as I think Graeme did). I am extremely picky with my haircuts but horrible at describing what I want, and Graeme listened very patiently and asked lots of questions before starting. His experience and drive for client satisfaction are evident, and I would argue he is easily one of the best stylists in the city.

This is the nicest salon I have visited in Anchorage and Graeme is a color genius. I found him while searching online for someone specializing in color correction. My stylist and I had been trying for over a year to obtain a specific color of blonde with no success. I called Graeme for a consult. For years, Mr. Pincott's dahlias of all colors and shapes have drawn bees and photographers and flower-lovers like me to N St. and 9th. Today, when the happy coincidence of time and funds allowed a visit to Mr. Pincott's business, Koala Hair Company (at the same address as the flowers), I left 2.5 hrs later with an equally lovely haircut and masterful coloring of my formerly dull, streaky, grey-brown hair. The studio is peaceful and sunny, no chemical odor (and no sulfates or paraben in the shampoo), and Mr.Pincott's 44 years of hair design (30 in Alaska) lead to fascinating discussion of travel, history, politics, and yes, those glorious dahlias.

At the recommendation of a co-worker, I drove 50 miles to have my hair cut by Graeme, a very professional hair stylist! I wear my hair short and have had a few good hairdressers over the years, they have either moved on or passed away. When I met with Graeme today, he was interested in how I wanted my hair cut, what I like and dislike and made sure he understood before he decided to move forward. He specializes in a method called marbelizing and my hair is always the perfect shade of blonde, is shiny and soft. I am always happy with the results. An added plus is that he is an intellectual conversationalist and also listens. In the summer months, enjoy the myriad of beautiful flowers he plants and tends.
