I got a haircut there and I regret it! There was only one girl cutting hair and she was horrible. Not only she made lots of rude comments but also she did a horrible job cuting my hair. I showed her a picture and she did anything close to it. I would never go back nor recommend it to anyone!

I was searching for a Salon when I found Jim in the yellow pages. I found Jim to be very interested in what I wanted ....he listened to me, which is important. I wanted a short pixie cut with foil highlights to cover up the white. AND that is exactly what I got and loved it. He uses Aveda products which is a plus and his staff is friendly. I believe I have found a Salon I can stick with and trust I will get exactly what I ask for. I even took my 12 year old Granddaughter to get her hair shaped and get the lowlights she wanted for a special event. When he finished she said, "WOW".. it was perfect and all her friends loved her hair.

Jim absolutely changed not only my hair but my life. My hair was so thin and bald in places that I could not wear it down in public at all. Which sucks being a sophomore in college with date parties and socials to go to. I was embarrassed to even go in public and was so depressed. I have always had long hair. About a year ago I had to cut over 2 ft off and then due to stress the top of my hair started falling out. Needless to say I didn't feel like myself anymore. I really didn't think Jim was going to be able to help me but I gave it a shot. He looked at my hair and said no problem. He even got it colored that same day. A week later and I am ecstatic with the results. They are all super nice at the salon, take the time to listen to what you want and work with it. That was an understatement. Three days later, I walked out of his salon with long, gorgeous Barbie-doll hair, thanks to his patience and precision with installation of beautiful extensions. I had color and highlights that have totally changed my life. I have always wanted highlights for so many years but have not done it. I so love, love my hair now. If you love your hair it makes you a different person and Jim did that for me. I cant't wait to show off my hair. I was so happy and just the perfect thing for me. He knew exactly what to do and not overdo. If you have something you truly want done to you hair, go see Jim. He is the only person in the world I trust with my hair now and will never ever go anywhere else. He knows his business. So if you are afraid to do something to your hair that you have always wanted please let him do it. He is my prince in shinning armor. Please go and let him make you the princess you always wanted to be. His salon is warm and special and everyone there are so nice. I have been to a lot of salons and feel uncomfortable. They are like home. So please go and let him do that magic touch to your hair, you will never regret it. If I let him do my hair and had no idea how it would come out, I couldn't be happier. Do that special something for yourself. Happy hair is happy person and we all know that. He even does hair extensions which i don't do but the ladies come out looking absolutely beautiful. I initially went to Jim to get him to put in my tape in extensions that I had purchased online. The extensions that I purchased were wrong; however, I still decided to go to my appointment to get a consultation for infused extensions. I ended up leaving with a full head of hair thanks to Jim. He could see how desperate I was to have long hair again so he gathered up the extensions he had on hand and went ahead and put them in (plus he gave me a MAJOR discount on them) I absolutely love my heat infused extensions and will continue to go to Jim and get them put in whenever it's time to replace them. The only reason I gave 4 out of 5 stars is that they charged me $63 to get my ends trimmed (no wash or dry) and I thought that was too much, but it hasn't stopped me from going back. I would still recommend Jim to anyone.

So, I was doing some research because I have been doing hair for 12 years but I can’t do my own hair. It’s very long and blonde. First of all, Curtis. I’m not sure if you are male or female but let me explain something to you. The stylist and salon was curtious enough to let you know they were not comfortable doing her hair, because 1. Going black to blonde is very complicated. It causes damage #1 and it’s takes more than one visit or process if it’s done correctly. 2. your daughter has curly hair and she is mixed which means her hair is African AMERICAN/Caucasian mix but the African genes are much stronger. Which means her texture and hair shaft is thick, curly, and could be course. So, again makes the process to go blonde even more complicated. Would you rather them not tell you and jack her hair up? Or would you rather them be upfront and honest with you? Don’t make this situation about white and black or about race. Choose your battles because unless you know the flavor...don’t store the koolaid. I give major props to the salon and owner for how they handled the situation and unless they were rude, which obviously was not bc he apologized right off and explained. I will be calling and making my appointmen. I’ll make my review after.

The most horrific experience I've ever had at a salon! I drove 2 hrs from Florence to Birmingham to get a hair consultation and the following wednesday, which was yesterday , I got my hair done. Mr. Ostrosky was a nice person, the people that worked there were nice as well. Mr. Ostrosky attempted to treat my hair by applying a Japanese hair straightening treatment, it was a disaster! At my consultation, he quoted me a price of $600.00. My hair is thick and long and he became overwhelm by it. He applied the products in hope that they would have done the job of loosening my curls and when that didn't happened, due to his technique or lack of, he would brush the comb over my hair because it was too much work for him to take the time to actually comb my hair. The process took over 4 hrs and I became frustrated because it became very clear he was not skilled in applying this product!! At the end of it all , he was to blow-dry my hair and then flatiron it. Once again, he refused to detangle my hair, which should not have been needed if he applied the product professionally. I then asked him to let me detangle my hair because it will become more tangle if you brow dry it and don't detangle it before hand or if you don't detangle it during the blowdrying process. I started to detangle my my own hair. It was a very unreal moment!! Never have I been to a solon where I took a comb from my purse and attempted to salvage my own hair!!! I had had enough! I got up and refused to have him flatiron it. He proceeded to charge me $550.00, he told me he took $50.00 off because he didn't finalized the awful process with the flatiron. I payed him, I was so upset, I regretted it. You would think a professional person would not have demanded payment for something that was nowhere near professionally done! My hair is matted and very dry. The only progress was, it now has less volume, but I'm wondering, what price did I pay for that? only time will tell. I left the salon with my horrible experience and drove two hrs back to florence, but It's not over for me, it is now a waiting game, I am hoping my hair will be ok.

I've gone to other people for years that didn't take the time to understand what I could do with my hair when I left the salon. He perfectly assesses our needs before picking up the scissors and his approach works! I have seen him three times now and even my husband says I look 10 years younger. I brought my daughter in for a consult as I would any salon because I have found many don't know how to handle curly hair and my daughter wanted to go from dark brown to blond hair. When they took my daughter back the owner was called over. He proceeded to apologize to my daughter for basically wasting a trip cause they didn't work on African American hair. My daughter was so humiliated and embarrassed. My daughter for one is biracial. Her hair is neither African American nor white. It is a beautiful unique blend and any talented beautician would have been able to see that. So as far as your salon goes, you can keep your privileged white folks. You really should be ashamed of yourself and maybe some continuous education will help. America is a blend of multicultures and as a salon owner you should probably be more capable of working on other hair types that might be different from yours...

I just got my hair cut here. It looks terrible. I wanted to get my hair cut and styled and read reviews online. This "salon" had good reviews, but those just regarded coloring of hair, and not cutting. I told the stylist what I wanted, but of course she was unable to follow instructions. This haircut was on par with supercuts or great clips. I asked her what she thought about my hair, and her response was "it's your hair dude." I realize it's my hair. I made the mistake of thinking you were a stylist. The stylist herself had pretty poor hair, so I don't really know what I was expecting. She also reeked like cigarettes. I would not recommend going to this salon.
