I was told this gym was $19.99 when I called and the owner said no BS contracts. Then, I went to tour the gym where a female staff told me it was $24.99 with a 6 month commitment. I was taken back, but it was still a good deal for a 24/7 gym. I joined and they gave me a key. I worked out there twice and it was hot/humid in there. There were nasty notes by the owner that I must not have noticed when I took the tour. I usually got stuck with a treadmill that didn’t do an incline because it was broke. I found it depressing to go there, so I stopped going and had to pay out the 6 months. As soon as the 6 months was over, I canceled. It’s too bad because that gym is close to me. However, I didn’t enjoy my experience with them.

This is a very good gym Mike is a great guy very laid-back you need any help he is there it's not one of those pushy gyms wear you got to get in and you got to get out not a lot of pressure very relaxing atmosphere great place

Stay away. This gym is great if you go at the right time so it is not crowded. If you go after 5pm, it is packed. Also, the owner/trainer obviously has a Napoleon Complex, so he is kind of a jerk.

Sweeney's Gym is top notch. I have been to other places over the year's and what makes Sweeney's Gym different is Sweeney! Mike takes pride in his gym, it's members, and helping everyone achieve their individual goals. Fitness is not complicated and the environment is welcoming. Sign up, have fun, and get fit!

Game- Kopps

It's a small gym but everyone who goes there is nice and maintains equipment. The owner is there often and will help with your workout. Access to hotel pool as well.

Its a gym. Buy a day pass and try it out. Not the worst place to workout not the best. If your goal is strength training or bodybuilding it works, mostly because you already know what you need to do and what works for you. Has all the accessories you'd typically buy yourself which is nice like straps and grips. If you're just doing light training or mostly cardio go to a chain gym and save on the monthly payments, with the yearly membership fee it'll be about even anyway. I was transferred from Blast to Planet Fitness and although I hated PF initially, honestly that's the place I'd recommend 90% of people go. Sweeneys doesn't have a locker room (yet, its currently under construction), very few machines (cardio or strength), and its pretty tiny. If there were 20 people working out it'd be full. Theres only one of each training equipment. Ive had to wait more than few times for the moms that were chatting to get off a machine. I only switched because I wanted more free weights(and theres more than enough) but definitely miss the luxuries of PF--water fountain, paper towels, always spotless, 10x more machines, especially more than one of each machine, locker room, better parking. SG does do events though which look nice. Things like viewing parties and cooking classes. I guess in the summer you can even bring beer and grill your own food if you want. Owner does seem to have an ego (almost all the pictures are of him), but that shouldn't matter because you dont actually have to work out with him. He's nice to me though and always been friendly. Lastly some people say the machines are a little older. Does that mean they don't work? If one of your main concerns is that the machines aren't pretty enough for you then you have bigger issues to deal with than this gym.

I've gone here on and off for a few years, I love it. Yes it's a small gym but I love that! It's not overwhelming has everything you need to feel and look your best. Sweeny and his wife are great!! The customers are also nice. I've never felt uncomfortable. It's convenient/ affordable/ and I love using the pool with my family:)

Why is it 4.8 if everyone's given it 5 stars. Best locally owned gym you'll ever find. Owner is there all the time working out and helping people. Pretty much well rounded all the way around. Sometimes you'll catch someone famous working out there. He trains celebrities too, maybe you could become the next.

I joined here after being an xperience and planet fitness member. I was excited for the small environment that's not so overwhelming. However the machines are extremely old and as I don't know much about free weights, I felt extremely limited.

I'm not sure what the other person was talking about when it comes to customer service. I had a great experience joining Sweeney's and was happy to see their affordable new $20/mo offer. This is great since my wife and I wanted to both join. The best part is since I have worked 3rd and now work 2nd shifts, I can have a place that is open late hours. Since it is a 24/7 gym it feels a lot more private. We were the only two there which is nice when you are out of shape :) The gym has a little bit of everything. Its also nice safe area to work out with a "gated community" feel with the free key card and free parking. Glad to find a place close to home near Bayview, Milwaukee. Its near St. Francis and the airport. The other places in bayview are almost twice the price and are a bit cheesy to jog in front of the window. Sweeney's doesn't feel like you are on display. It also has a tanning booth, shower, lockers, music, tvs etc. Impressed! Best place on the Southside!

This gym is a joke. The owner/self absorbed trainer is full of it. His training skills are terrible. He basically wants you to pay to work out with him; He does not "teach" anything. He's all talk. His workouts are very old school and will likely never give you results. I can not tell you enough how much time and money you would be wasting going to this gym. I worked out with him and felt as though I needed to go home and do a real work out. And all these "famous clients", are you kidding me?!?! Those are not "bodies by Sweeney,"those are bodies by hard working individuals that occasionally pass through town and take a picture with this clown. It is all a giant joke! Michael Sweeney is so full of himself, he actually believes he is talented. Do yourself a favor a join a real gym with real talent, unless you are looking for a run of the mill hotel gym with a creep.

I'm not sure who this trainer/owner asks to leave reviews of his establishment, but like a previous reviewer wrote - he is sincerely a joke and also a cheat. This guy uses less of a training approach and more of a bullying one. All I needed was a couple of sessions to realize that its not worth your time to even go here.
