Fun place to work out:-)

Hari Kuduva

The best gym in the kirkland area, hands down. The gym is not too crowded to the point where you see random people everyday. Its almost like a small family you see whenever you go to the gym. The people at the front desk are always friendly and welcoming. Go to any other "Health Center" and you wont find nearly as friendly staff. I cant stress this enough. The gym basically has every equipment for a workout you could possibly need. I didnt know towel service was not a thing at other gyms... If you require a gym without extra features such as a basketball court or a swimming pool/ sauna, I highly recommend this gym.

My mother purchased a month pass for me at this gym through Groupon even though I would only be in town for a week. When we arrived, Robert told us that he would not accept it because I was from out of town. No where on the coupon did it say that one had to live in town. I ended up paying the guest fee for a hot 45 min. workout (do they have a/c?). Robert was rude, made a nasty comment to my mother, and was absolutely unwilling to work with us other than charging us more money. I will never be back. I can go to my sister's, nicer gym, for no charge.

A bit small and packed, but Drew the yoga instructor here is awesome!

I joined the Kirkland Gold's gym a couple months ago, and wow! I sure wish I had gotten a membership their sooner, this place is amazing! I love the way that the gym is laid out: the entire first floor is completely dedicated to free-weights and machines, with cardio equipment taking up the second floor. And best of all the atmosphere; people are here to lift, not jerk around. Loving it!

Kristian Dahl

Gold's Gym in Kirkland is a great family orientated place with a warm inviting staff that is here to help you achieve your goals through 1-on-1 training, nutrition advice or uplifting words of encouragement. This gym gives you the ability to bring the whole family in with their wonderful Kids Club staff. If hitting cardio is your thing there's a plethora of machines available, even at peak times. If you are looking for a place to lift serious weights or do some circuit training there is no better place with friendly members excited for you to reach your goals!

Jake Hughes

The employees of this gym are very douchey. Cody Reed the front desk employee sits at the front desk with his feet up on the table and plays with his hair all day. He cussed me out and acted like I was wrong for asking a member to move their ipad off a bench so I could use it. Some people in this gym are very sensitive. This gym is turning into a worse place than planet fitness. They have been kicking out all the best members for using chalk. This gym has 1 good olympic bar. All the other bars are either very low quality or severely bent. All the machines in this gym are crooked and low quality. It is really quite pathetic. I do not reccommend this gym.

caleb neal

Good gym for the price, definitely not a hipster crossfit type of place, could be better at maintaining the equipment

Suzanne Prevost

Lachlan Ainley

Good gym, has all the equipment. Well priced membership fees. A little older but seems well maintained.

The gym is focused more on standard weight lifting, aerobics, some classes, less on massage, pool, spa features, etc. This appealed to me a lot. I lift weights, stay in shape, and I have my own workout routine. I'm handicapped, mobile impaired, and this is absolutely one of the best gyms around for someone who has trouble walking. The floor is very flat with no bumps to trip you (I tend to drag my feet when I walk.) On a side note, it works great if you use a device to get around. I use a cane to walk, and it works for me very well. The gym-goers are friendly, and cooperative. The general chemistry of the place is friendly to all, whether you are a workout novice, or an experienced fitness enthusiast. If you are new to the gym environment, then I'd recommend this place. I'm giving it only four stars because the music is too loud. If they played NO music, then this rating would max out to five stars, and then some. Again, this is an excellent gym for getting/staying in shape.

All ages and strength types. Really enjoy the vibe at this Gold's.

This is a gym with no integrity or basic knowledge of customer service. TL;DR: they swindled me, didn't give me my money back, want to sell you things instead of serve you, and are incredibly rude. Don't go here. You can go outside (it's cheaper and they won't interrogate you.) I went to this gym to use my groupon for 1 free month and 2 personal training sessions. When I walked in they were generally pretty nice, albeit slightly condescending. Everything was about getting me to pay more money. In fact they told me that I couldn't redeem my Groupon due to issues with the website (despite the fact that it was still usable) and that I had to pay. They offered a reduced price, however, and so I decided to pay. I'm 17 years old, so I went home and told my mom about the experience. She was shocked that they wouldn't allow me to fulfill my Groupon, and so she called for me. The story for her was much different. The manager said to her that they weren't allowing people to redeem the groupons they created because too many customers were "abusing it", as in they were using the Groupon and not paying for things. (NEWSFLASH: that's basically the reason groupons exist). The manager allowed me to cancel the payment I made and put me on a trial basis. I still have not been refunded my money. When I went in the day after cancelling the payment I didn't need to make, a man at the front desk literally got in my face and continually asked me why I cancelled my membership until I gave him an answer he deemed adequate. He literally interrogated me and completely violated my personal space. I went only for one personal training session. I cancelled the second due to scheduling issues and they allowed me to reschedule, but when I called in a second time for the same reason they refused. (Even though I called in days beforehand). Even at my one personal training session the only thing the head trainer really talked to me about was purchasing supplements. He skimmed over nutrition, showed me a few exercises and spent about half an hour trying to sell me supplements and more personal training sessions. I'm sorry but you're not a salesperson so please use my full hour to do your job. The gym plays ads- loudly- while you are working out, their daycare center is run by a person who I can tell has little to no caregiving experience (my brother works in a daycare and I have worked as a babysitter for 5 years now), and their staff are incredibly rude. I was literally so anxious about that one staff member interrogating me that I could barely step foot in the gym. They treated me even worse due to my age and lack of knowledge, and their services are incredibly subpar. I do not recommend this gym to anyone, ever. Buying weights or running outside is cheaper and better. Do that instead.

A no-frills gym, which I like. People in this gym are here to work out, not pose and socialize. I take my teen daughter to work out every weekday, and everyone that works there are so nice to both me and my daughter.

Great trainers, awesome staff, clean facilities makes working out at golds gym kirkland enjoyable and motivating. Would recommend training with Robert MacFadzen, his knowledge will help anyone from novice to veteran achieve their goals.

Disorganized admin and miscommunication between staff. Joined through Global Fit, so I could avoid managements' internal drama and issues that I experienced multiple times in the past. Just as much of a cluster regardless. Sent a referral their way and got yelled at in front of staff for advising my referral how much I paid monthly. No more referrals! More recently, I was confronted about my review and an argument ensued from the men's locker room to the middle of the gym near the entrance for all gym members to witness. VERY HUMILIATING! I don't believe that is the correct resolve for handling an issue. I added an additional star for the very reason, there are some nice people at the front desk when checking in daily and the loyal gym veterans who have been working out there for over a decade, promoting a great sense of community.

I've trained at Kirkland Gold's Gym for 12 years. During that time I won the 2004 USA Bodybuilding Championships and competed in 27 IFBB professional competitions. Due to my profession I'm not new to weight training and have enjoyed visiting gyms across the globe. However, I always look forward to coming back to Kirkland Gold's Gym. The atmosphere is what really sets this place apart. It doesn't matter if a person is new to working out, a 50 year veteran to training or a pro athlete - no egos and a results oriented focus.

Jacob Briant

Friendly staff. I was also surprised by the overall cleanliness of the gym and locker room. I'm a new member but so far I'm impressed. Josh was extremely helpful showing me the ropes and helping me sign up for my membership. It was very low pressure and helpful, didn't feel like I was being sold something, he jus wanted me to get the membership that was best for me.

Kirkland Gold's is the best! If you want a real gym for a good price look no further. This is not a "club" with lots of frills, its a place where serious people go to work hard. The selection of machines and free weights are unbeatable. Dumbbells up to 150lbs. So much equipment that I always have plenty of options even at peak hours. The trainers are top notch and very friendly, along with the front desk staff and manager Keith. I've become good friends with the entire staff who always seem happy to see me and chat. Everyone is so fitness oriented that I've entered local physique competitions with many other members and much of the staff! I go out of my way to come here even though there are 4 other Gold's closer to me. My best friend here has been coming for more than 20 years, and I intend to do the same. The positive atmosphere, great people, award winning management, and workout buddies I've made the past 2 years make it my favorite place to hang out.

I put a good workout in here while in the area for work. Parking and the gym were both a little crowded, but I did go at prime time after work. Well equipped gym and was able to get a day pass for $15. Equipment is in good shape and clean.

Two stars for the long term employees who don't suck if they are still there, no complaints during our interactions. I haven't stepped foot into this gym in months which overall leaves me feeling kind of sad, I would no longer suggest to any of my friends or family joining here. This gym started out being the best and closest option to my house. The staff has changed over and over and seems to just get more out of touch with basic customer service skills. I stopped being able to take my son with me after many staff changes in the kids room, after trying a couple more times I quickly knew the people weren't qualified to interact/play with kids of all ages. I don't expect an overwhelming amount from staff but being welcoming and not rude is huge for me. Via in person and over the phone every time I have to talk to staff about something important it's been unpleasant. Too many times I went to this gym and left feeling more frustrated that I actually went. Lack of cleanliness in the locker rooms was always irritating because of how small this gym is compared to others, the staff is capable of maintaining it just seemed not to be a priority on the slower afternoon/nights. There are extremely specific small windows of business hours where it is easy to share equipment/not have to wait long periods; if it is busy and you are not a body builder/model it's worth it to go back home and go back after it dies down. If you'd like to be persuaded into spending overall too much money for what you will receive check it out. However after signing a year contact, I assumed I would pay for two months I wouldn't go and call it a loss. However after tracking my bank history I found out the year contact didn't end my agreement to continue giving this gym authorization to charge me automatically with out any notice. Since my contract ended I have been paying a higher rate for three months, and on the day I called to cancel was charged another service fee of $44. The person who I spoke with on the phone was so unbelievably irritated to have to answer my dumb questions which I obviously should have known. On top of that she could do absolutely nothing to help me, offered some more attitude about how she could clearly check my contract and told me to call back later for the details to email the company to cancel. My bad for not pulling out the signed agreement and reading it all the way through, or trust me I would have sent the cancelation email way sooner. There are parts I know is just "business" but I'm a human, a single mother, hold a full time job and don't like being fooled into things. I am close friends, or neighbors with many people at this gym and wish things had gone better at my time here. My hope for the next person to join is that you're smarter than I was and read every word of your contract through; that it's cleaner, and some of the new staff are friendlier. Some advice to make it seem like you are less about taking advantage of people, and their money is maybe sending out a friendly reminder email to gym members who are coming up on expirations, or at least a reminder to people what payment plans they will be automatically switched to. It seems like the prime time to get new/more contracts signed to me anayways.

Over priced gym with little to offer. Don't waste your time going here... other gyms are around the area that offer more for less... staff is incompetent and didn't know how to help other than to refer to the sales pitch they have been trained with... was a waste of time.

Keith Landry

I have been going to this gym for workout purpose and it's been a while now. It is always a very satisfying experience for me to go their and workout with the help of high class machines. They have amazing set of trainers too who are the best.

Conrad Challenor

Has all the essentials you need. Perfect for barbell training as well as isolation work. Rarely have to wait for equipment. Knowledgeable and helpful trainers. All in all a great no-frills gym. My only recommendation is to replace the bent barbells.

Love this gym and the clientele. No hype, no frills, just people wanting to get fit. Other gyms seem like people are there to see and be seen... The people at Gold's take it seriously, and I appreciate that.

The Trainers at Gold's Kirkland have really helped me overcome my Gym-timidation. While im still learning my way around equipment, the one thing i love being able to count on is that im not going to run into anyone who isnt there to work hard. Ty gave me the extra push I needed get a membership and make my visits consistent, and now i find myself thinking about the gym when im at work or out and about. And training with Robert i have learned more and come up with a challenging but easy-to-remember training program to build functional strength. So far these guys have helped me build my gym-confidence and overall confidence.

8/6/17 I am advising anyone to stay away. The customer service is terrible and once they get your money you can't get scheduled what you paid for. And don't expect your money back, they won't return your calls to discuss it. I keep leaving messages and no one returns my calls. This last week I was even told the general manager was in and she would call me as soon as she was off the phone, no call. I called again the next day, left a message for her again, no call. This is the worst place I have ever dealt with. 7/13/17 I'm still being told by the gym that they will not refund my money for the personal trainer. According to the text I received the trainer who was assigned to me isn't even going to be there. This is copied from my messaging. (I was going to post a screen shot but I don't want to post his number on here) Totally understand! Next week I'm actually going to be gone for the 4th of July. Won't be back till the following Monday! Which is 7/17 So can I still schedule? Can someone else work with me? Yeah. Let me talk to bj who's our fitness manager when he comes in! As I wrote earlier on, no one ever got back to me. Update 7/10/2017 Well so far I'm waiting for them to agree to refund my money for the personal trainer. The main office has agreed to cancel my membership but the manager, I believe Taylor, told me no. I tried calling Friday but he didn't return my call. Typical for this gym. I called here three times and had to leave a message to schedule a tour. I've had health issues for the last 3 years and really want to get back into physical health. I finally sat down with someone who sold me a membership and 8 personal trainer sessions. I explained my health concerns to the sales person. At the end of all this he said the trainer manager, BJ, would call me to schedule. After a couple of days I called again, again had to leave a message. He finally called and schedule me for my free set up session. I thought I would be asked about any limitations I had, nope. He had me do things I shouldn't have. We scheduled two sessions and he said he would text me the days and times since I didn't have my phone. No text. Because I worked a lot of overtime I called to reschedule, had to leave a message. I finally got a text, "saw you had to cancel, when would you like to come in?" I asked for availability, tell me when you want. I gave two mornings for next week, great, see you then. Later, oh btw, I'm off until the 17th. I'm really starting to get frustrated by this point. Okay can anyone else help me? I'll talk to BJ when he comes in. That was Thursday morning and I haven't heard from anyone. At this point I want my money back and to cancel my membership. I'll post how that goes too.

I've been a member at Kirkland Gold's for almost ten years now and - having tried out a number of gyms before - I can vouch for it fully. This is a place where friendships and trust are formed through hard work and respect, and where the people who work there will be your best workout partners.

We love Gold's Gym Kirkland! We followed our trainer Ty over to Kirkland from Woodinville Gold's and it just keeps getting better. Ty is an incredible trainer who has helped my husband recover from a massive brain injury. Ty has gone above and beyond to help my husband meet his goals for daily living. My husband has been with Ty for over a year now, creating solid workout routines that support his therapy instructions from UW. Ty has helped my husband move from a wheelchair dependent lifestyle to walking cane free. All his support has allowed my husband to regain daily living independence beyond what his doctors thought possible. Ty's professionalism, patience and attention to detail has given us hope for his future. Every time my husband and I come into Gold's Kirkland there is always a smiling face ready to help. Keith is a stellar manager and hired a solid front desk crew. We are happy to find this unique Gold's and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great gym experience.

When I started at this gym there was ALOT of strength based lifters (power, weightlifting, etc) but having come back after surgery I dont see has many anymore. :( Which makes me very sad. So if your looking for a gym that you want to do normal work outs or body building then this is a gym that will work for you, but if you are into strength based work outs. I dont think you will be welcomed here anymore. It's harsh to say but true. They have a no chalk rule for both regular and liquid. Cannot drop weights at all, but if you are lifting heavy. Not much you can do there..... Over all I still see some familiar faces, but I miss seeing some people of the power and weight lifting community there. I would always get help from them to improve my form since I want to do more powerlifting.

gary groenen

The machines Iwant yo use are there! I like the tv on the treadmills and bikes. The best part is the friendliness of the staff at the front desk!

On of the more serious gyms on the Eastside of Seattle. A handful of pros workout there and it's a great place to achieve your fitness goals. I've trained for multiple competitions at this gym and it's great. Showers are clean, locker room is standard, just got bigger dumbbells (up to 150s) a few months back, bumper plates for Olympic moves, three deadlift platforms. The only downside is say is a few of personal training staff as they just don't seem to have enough experience to adapt to their clients.

This place has a great staff! There's a trainer for all your needs and they are very knowledgeable. I took advantage of a Group on offer a few months ago and hooked.

Canceled my account two months ago. Spoke with a rep at the gym and she said that my account was good to go and I wouldn’t be billed again. Since that point I have been billed twice. I called in again and spoke with someone and they confirmed my account was active and said to send another email asking for my account to be closed. She said that she was sure they would take care of me and refund the amounts charged (about $80). Sent email, got a response saying that my account would be canceled in 30 days and I would be billed again. Up to this point I have had a great experience with this gym! Cheaper than LA Fitness but they did not hassle my friend when he closed his account there.

I'll start off by saying that this has to be worst customer service I have ever received. I am new to the area and was looking to join a gym, saw that Gold's offers a 'Free 7 day pass' so I thought I would give them a shot and signed up online. The next day I go to the gym and let the two girls at the service desk know that I had a '7 day pass' but both seemed to have no idea what to do with my pass. I thought that was strange since that's the first thing you see when you visit their website. Anyways, they let me workout and said to come chat with one of their sales guys after my workout, fair enough. After my workout, I find the sales guy, who then starts to discuss their membership plans.I let the guy know that I wasn't looking to purchase a membership yet as I wanted to try out their gym and another gym in the area before making a decision. I then get your typical sales pitches of 'this is a one-day deal', 'We don't want you pay more later' etc. Again, I let the guy know I just want to try out the gym and make a decision later. The sales guy then brings his manager over and then they turn into total car salesman trying to get me to signup on the spot. I AGAIN explained that I wasn't looking to sign up today and further explained that my wife was not living in the area at the moment and wanted to give her all the information before we agreed to something. After about the 5th time of me saying this, they finally stopped and we agreed that I would get back to them about joining after I check out the other gym in the area. Next day, I come back to the gym to workout and to use my 'Free 7 day pass'. I show it to the service desk girls who again have nothing to say and look for the same sales guy I spoke with the day before. I show him the pass again and say that I want to workout but he DENIES my pass!! He claims that he switched the pass to a '1 day pass' as I 'should know if I want to join, after a day of working out here' I couldn't believe it, and asked him why it was changed, he states that per our conversation I was going to try the other gym and get back to him. This was partially true, so I clarified that wanted to continue to use my 7-day pass and would get back to them about joining at a later time. I then ask him to change the pass back to 7 days as that was what I had signed up for and he DENIES ME AGAIN!! At that point, I tell him to forget it as I wouldn't be coming back. Note that he didn't seem to care either. I honestly have no idea how this place is still in business with the type of business practices they have. I was legitimately interested in joining their gym, but apparently, I can only join on their time and not mine. Do yourself a favor and avoid their '7-day pass' scam. Better yet, avoid this place altogether, you will thank me later. After being denied I drove directly to the other gym in the area and received GREAT SERVICE with no pressure or slimy sales tactics.

Joining Gold’s Gym was the best decision! There are so many reasons why I love this gym. The location is ideal because it is right off the freeway, the general atmosphere is positive, motivating and the members are very friendly, and the employees are helpful and inviting. All of the trainers are highly qualified and I have seen all types of people with varying athletic experience working out with each trainer! My boyfriend and I have been training with Ty Senter for the last 2 months while participating in the Gold's Gym Challenge and have both seen drastic changes in our strength, motivation, and confidence at the gym! I recommend this gym for every aspect of fitness.

I have been a loyal member of Gold's Gym for nearly three years now, and have enjoyed training there. However, in recent months I have been increasingly disappointed with the manner in which the gym handles (or, perhaps more accurately, doesn't handle) patron concerns. Here are a few specific incidences when the club failed to meet my expectations: 1. I go to school in North Carolina, but train at Gold's when I am back for the summer. Last summer, I made it clear that I simply wanted a three month summer membership. I was told that would be okay and I paid up front, after being assured that the membership would cancel at the end of the summer. However, I later found out that I was continually billed even during my time at school for a total of more than $200. When I contacted the manager to ask for a refund and presented my login history showing that I had not checked in once during the period school was in session, he said he would contact corporate and get back to me. However, he never reached out after that and when I brought it up again, he said he had not heard back from corporate. This is disappointing because the club failed to address my issue promptly, or even at all. 2. A few weeks, maybe a month ago, I noticed that the platform of the power rack was unstable and wobbled from side to side when I squatted. I brought this up to one of the front desk associates who told me that she would note it for maintenance. Now, weeks later, the club has still failed to fix the unstable platform and it is worrisome that the club did not address this concern, as an unstable platform can be both distracting and potentially unsafe. 3. For the years that I have trained at Gold's, I used chalk without a problem. Recently, I was told that there was a no chalk policy, however this was not made clear at the point of signing, was not a rule stated in my membership agreement, and to my knowledge the only place where this rule can be seen is on an inconspicuous bulletin board off to the side of the gym. As a serious weightlifter, I would not have chosen to join Gold's if I knew this were the case. When I brought this up with management and requested a refund for the remaining month of my summer membership because it was not what I signed up for, I was declined a refund. I have brought multiple issues to management, and have been consistently disappointed by their handling of those issues. It seems as though this is a gym that is more concerned with profit than genuinely caring about patron concerns. As such, I will not be returning to the gym after my membership expires. If you want a gym that is serious about customer service, I advise you to train elsewhere.

Clean store better prices now that Amazon owns its lines could do Improvement but overall it's a great shopping experience.
