The Red Mill OneLife is awesome! I'm so happy this location opened as it's only minutes from my house. The gym is very clean, has everything that I need for a great workout, the staff is super knowledgeable and helpful and I look forward to seeing their friendly faces every day!

The new OneLife at Redmill is amazing! So many areas to work out and the facility is beautiful as well as spotless, which is important. Besides all of the classes (I've never seen this many offered all day), I love the 20 minute workout area. Perfect for me because I can get in and out and it's never crowded. They also have great music in there! The theatre room is awesome too because it's dark and they play great movies.

The only reason for the two stars is the overall aesthetic and new equipment smell. Cons: 1) A full outdoor workout area was promoted as if it was going to be available to all members and instead you have to reserve a session with a trainer to use it (explosive performance). I’ve tried training sessions before with the free training that came with the membership and they’re only useful if you’re a beginner in the gym (no offense). I think great consideration needs to be taken by staff that intermidiate/advanced lifters go to this gym and are missing out on some of the only features that stand out about this gym because we don’t want to waste money. 2) there are spaces that are being completely wasted (barely any equipment in the space at all). Since other fully equipped areas are going to be closed off to members (without extra payment) I don’t think it’s unreasonable for the other areas to be completely full of equipment for the members to use with the monthly membership we pay - not extra charges. 3) literally half the pool area is for children and children don’t make up anywhere near half the memberships 4) staff dismissive when presented with member issues 5) environment is closer to that of a YMCA than to the overall environments at the other one life gyms (with the exception of the Blvd). Don’t visit this gym if you’re a serious lifter looking for motivation to work harder 6) no sauna; such a grand waiting room is unnecessary in a locker room. 7) atomosphere will also be uncomfortable if you’re a person of color. a lot of stares. Overall very disappointed with everything besides the beautiful interior and new squat racks/deadlifting platforms and will not return.

I have been a member for over a year now and I love the newest location. It is always clean and well air conditioned. The front desk staff is always friendly when I am entering and leaving the building. I take BodyPump classes throughout the week and they are the best, instructor's Michelle and Casey are incredible!

This place is amazing and is perfectly located. Drew and Dillion are great hosts and terrific managers, who explain everything that you need and LISTEN to your needs and concerns. No high pressure sales pitch or upsell, just the facts.

Don't go here, the customer service personnel are just crooks, purchased two memberships for my wife and daughter, one month later I had a heart attack and subsequent reduced pay from 140k a year to disability. The mortgage, car payment and insurance goes on so some things have to go... Quit the gym? Hell no says Onelife, we keep billing, freeze? Sure but we keep billing, cancel? Forget it... Don't care if you're dead, we keep billing. My wife and daughter went about six times the first month then never again, they kept billing, overdraft fees? Don't care, we will just bill you again... Corporate is a joke, no help there, have to deal with the crooks at your club they say. I am back to work now, reduced hours and pay but alive,,, I had to pay out entire memberships for both, over $500, they promised to stop the billing, hope these non caring, crooks and thieves can at least keep this ONE promise. Don't waste your time and hard earned money on OneLife, there are many, better, caring, clubs out there..

Great place. High quality squat racks and benches. Olympic size barbells and dumbbells heavier than just 100lbs. Lots of room, but not too crowded. Friendly staff that are constantly making sure the place is clean and smells good. The bathrooms/locker rooms are huge and very sophisticated looking. Lockers of different sizes everywhere. They have a 3 day free thing that they don't take your card, just show you around then set you free. Kid sitting. A water park indoors for kids. Pool for laps. Cardio equipment I don't even know how to describe. The free weight area they have there is great I didntd have to wait for anything, and I was there for four hours.

Top Notch Gym, Top Notch Service. The entire Crew is helpful, friendly, personable, and they know what they are doing. The Crew from the time I joined this franchise-- they greet me by name and always welcomed me there when I go to workout. It starts with Brandon, The General Manger, and to the rest of the staff (Drew, Caleb, etc.) Anytime I needed assistance they have been great with helping me get what I need done, regardless of what it is. One of the best services around, cant say this enough. The gym has everything you need for a great workout; equipment, plenty of space, trainers, kids club, you name it . This is one of the best gyms I've been too. I highly recommend them.

I've been coming to your location for a month now after I grew tired of the Princess Anne location. I am so happy with this gym! I was considering canceling my membership, but my joy is renewed. Tonight I took Sprint for the first time and loved it! I also LOVE the cardio cinema room, all the different workout areas, the cleanliness (it usually smells good when you walk in, and there's cleaning wipes everywhere) all the water fountains work... you know, the little things lol Thanks for doing a great job!!!

I stopped attending the gym at the beginning of the year. Just so happens my credit card was also lost during that time as well. I never updated my payments because I was under the assumption my membership would no longer be valid if I wasn’t attending. After MULTIPLE texts/ calls/ emails, I finally called to find out I owe money from the months I did not attend. What type of business still requires you to pay if you’re not attending? It’s absurd to me that I now owe over a hundred dollars to this gym that I haven’t attended in 6 months. I will be paying my fee so they don’t send me to collections and never returning here again. I was also told I need to come in to cancel my membership which is absurd being that I barely had time to call them back, let alone head all the way out here to pay them for a service I wasn’t using. I’ve never had such poor customer service. God forbid someone is uninterested in working out. How about next time you harass someone with phone calls, emails and texts you include that they are still be charged until they cancel their membership.

The new gym is beautiful... staff very friendly. Tried to use the Cinema and only stayed for 30 mins, it was way too hot in there.. fans were on but no air was circulating.. One life on the blvd.. keeps their cimina very cool and it's refreshing and easy to stay in there for longer periods of time.

My coach at my other gym (UFC) said that I need to find a pool so I can do a full body workout. My mom just joined this gym last week and told me that they were building a pool. This location is brand new and I did not know that it was open. I went inside and was greeted immediately by Dai. He asked me if I had any questions and I told him I was interested in a tour. He then had me sign into an ipad then set me up with Dillon. I was waiting, Dai brought me a cold water. He was very hospitable. During the tour, Dillon knew he stuff. He answered all my questions that I had and was very good. I knew I wanted to sign up when I walked in, but he made me want to sign up for SURE. Does that make sense? One Life has so much that other gyms don't offer such as a basketball court, sauna, and pool (opening soon). I can't wait to join the water aerobics classes. I also like how they have a lot of machines. I believe there are 7 squats racks. Like whaaaat? SEVEN?! They also offer personal training. Prices depend on how often you are going to go. When you sign up, you get two complimentary personal training sessions. There are only two rules: No bags in the area & no chalk. The process of signing up for a membership was easy. They have different deals on payment plans. If someone refers you and they received a deal, you get their deal also! That's a plussssss ! I attended dance bootcamp as my first class and when I tell you, I will be joining the class every Monday at 7pm .. I will. The instructor has so much energy. I believe his name is Chris. HE DID AMAZING. I'm excited to add this to my gym rat life style!

There is so much to do here, for workouts, for fun, and for fitness. There are tons of classes and a.lotnof equipment across the facility to use. The locker rooms are very good, and services and staff are friendly and extensive.

The facility just opened a month ago, and it is gorgeous. Working out there with ALL that new equipment is a great feeling - no waiting time. There are a bunch of turf areas, barbells, traditional machines, and a separate room for personal training. Bathroom is spotless & pristine! For those who CrossFit, there are plenty of assault bikes & ergs & bumper plates for Olympic lifts!

BEST GYM EVER!!! The front desk staff has always been super friendly and helpful. The classes are AMAZING (and I take a lot) and the trainers are top notch!! I love the cleanliness and daycare staff to boot! Seriously there is NO other gym in Hampton Roads that can compare!

I love this gym. I signed up back in July and I’m so glad I did. It’s wide open and spacious so even when it’s very busy you don’t feel like your drowning in a sea of people. The entire staff team are personable and super supportive. The personal training helped me develop a new gym routine and definitely helped me with accountability. I have never been so consistent about working out in my life. I like that I can go to any location too. I can meetup with a friend at a central location or take a class after work in Chesapeake.

This gym offers no plan for college students who are away from home part of the year. My son joined for 3 months over the summer while home on break and loved this gym. He is home for Christmas break and was just charged $55 for the month of Dec. There are only 2 weeks left in December! The daily rate would be crazy for 2 weeks and he can't use the free pass they give out because those are only for new clients who have had no previous contract with the gym. They should offer a yearly contract with the option to suspend membership while away at college. One very frustrate mother!

This is a great gym. The amenities are abundant and beautiful. The staff are friendly. Vinny specifically was very kind while my sister was visiting and helped her with a guest pass. The instructors are wonderful and take the time to speak to each and every person seeking information or advice. Recently, I noticed that it has become a bit dirty. At the opening, it was immaculate, with staff cleaning around the clock. Certainly, it is not cost effective nor necessary to have an army of cleaning staff. However, It would help if there could be a quick swiffer/vacuuming between classes in the bodypump room. The spin bikes also seem a little bit grimy. I've had to take a bottle of cleaner from another room to clean my bike after class. It's obvious not all spinners are considerate of their own filth and sweat. The main workout and free weight area always smell fresh and clean however. It's also great to have the hand sanitizer dispensers and a towel available at all times, I appreciate that. Just a friendly suggestion being that it is cold and flu season. Overall, it's an awesome place and I love it.

If I were a Virginia Beach resident Red Mill Onelife would be the only club I would think about. Three good mornings from three different employees made me take a step back. Love this gym! Have been going here 3 months and will continue for years to come. Staff all around is so friendly. The front desk staff continuously greet and welcome every body that walks through the door. Machines / Benches are always being cleaned, which is a plus. Such a big gym that it feels like the gym is never packed, even on a busy 5pm workout on Monday!

Staff is always so nice and welcoming. My mom in law is in her 80s and often goes with one of her friends. I was with them and Lee Anne recognized them and remembered that the used the pool and informed us that the pool was closed that day but the hot tub was open. I was extremely impressed that she remembered that about my mom and her friend. It made me feel like mom is in good hands when she goes to the gym without me. Thank you so much

This gym is awesome. New facility, huge floor plan and equipment is modern and plentiful. Even with the surge of new customers in January there are plenty of machines and space to work out without feeling cramped. Staff is friendly and willing to help if you have any questions. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a new place to workout.

I was hesitant to join this gym at first because I was in a certain routine. I gave this gym a try and I learned so much! I love all the classes and find each instructor amazing. They encourage you to do new exercises and build your confidence to try new techniques. The gym has other opportunities to sign up for explosive performance (which my teen loves), personal training and zone 4. Basically, you never get board or stuck in a rut. The community is great, locker rooms are always clean and I really like the child care options for parents. What I find most impressive is that management is always available and approachable. Update: After talking to the Manager, Brandon and interacting with a few of the other staff I am changing my rating from 3 to 5 stars. Brandon was great and very friendly to talk to about my concerns. You can tell he really cares about all those who walk into the gym and wants everyone to enjoy their experience. I now have a membership and have told several of my neighbors how great it is there and they're thinking about joining as well. I am glad I didn't let one bad apple discourage me from joining. The gym is beautifully designed, great atmosphere. I love the equipment. I came in for my first day of my 5 day free pass. The lady who signed me in knew it was my first time being there but she didn't explain anything to me. Just said sign this and I need your ID... um ok.. I am not new to using a gym but some kind of explanation of how the 5 day pass works or how the gym is laid out would of been helpful. I'll go back but not impressed by the staff so far.

Manager Isaiah took 3 weeks to call back, then manager Liz STILL hasn't called. Such and amazing gym, tarnished by the customer service. We work for our money just like you!!

The front desk guy was a jerk. As soon as I walked into the ladies’ bathroom, I witnessed a female worker pass out. I ranned to the front desk and told him what happened and asked the him to help and call for help. He said he couldn’t leave the desk. I told him that I don’t care about him leaving the front desk but he needs to call for help. He just shrugged his shoulders and did nothing!!! He had no compassion for his coworker. So I called 911 and waited for the ambulance to show up.

The entire crew up at the new, Onelife Fitness Red Mill are top of their game. All of them exude an attitude of caring about your specific needs and goals. Liz Cartwright, one of the managers, always greets me with a smile. So do the others for that matter. Caleb, the in house trainer, is always available to help and give great tips to maximize your workouts. The place is always kept super clean. All of us members can't wait for the new BIG, 80,000 sq facility to open in March. Onelife is the nicest health club I've ever been to. Once the new mega club opens, they will have every type of training, fitness class, Spin and Cycle type program that's out there today. Thanks to the team at Onelife Red Mill for making it so special! :-)

Janessa Hutt!!! I've worked with many trainers in the past. I am 54 and have been very active in the gym since I was 20, and an avid runner for the last 24 years. Due to age and injury I opted to hire a trainer that was willing to train me old school, not crossfit or anything like that. I was extremely impress with her physique and though that out of all the trainers, she would best suit what I was looking for. She did not disappoint! I can't compliment her enough! I have agreed to a 6 month contract with her, and will continue to train with her after my contract is up.

One the best gyms in the area. The pool is good and not busy I highly recommend trying their classes on I wish they would let I want free pass maybe quarterly so the members can bring a guest. Also the hours are extremely helpful. It fits everone's schedule.

Gym is phenomenal in terms of cleanliness, equipment, and atmosphere. Reason for my 1 star is the Management, Liz Cartwright is the worst GM and has no idea what customer service is and how to appreciate her members. I moved away and cancelled my membership due to area not having OneLife available. Cancelled with a proper Cancellation Request Form signed and filed by the front desk employee Kate G. She said she would give the information to Liz and I was all set. Next month I was charged, called in and spoke with Liz who advised it wasn't a full month in advance so I had to be charged again, and since they use a 3rd party billing system they don't control charges themselves. She told me she had the form and it was cancelled so no more charges would apply. Another month later, charged again! Called Liz and she said that is odd, let me look up your account, she says "Oh it doesn't show cancelled." She couldn't find paperwork now, so I had it still and sent it over to her. She said she would notify the company and get it taken care of and call me back. Never called back which mind you is the outcome with her every time. Called next day and she made up every excuse in the book. Said she got it cancelled, but the charge cannot be refunded due to me not filling out the proper cancellation form, or meeting with her the "GM" to cancel. I brought up the previous month when we spoke and how she never mentioned the wrong form being used the first time and me needing to send in a different completed one, and the fact she said I was cancelled and would not have any further charges. She then stated Kate called me to notify me of this new form needed, which was a flat out lie, obviously I would do what was needed to not be charged again. I also told her that is on you as a GM and your staff to not properly take care of a situation like this and make it right, so for me to be penalized with a charge for their incompetence is wrong and they need to make it right. She again mentioned their 3rd party billing system Motionsoft which she called "Moso" and she could not do anything. After back and forth she said she could reach out, but was sure nothing could be done. I asked for the number and contact to call to follow-up since I knew she wouldn't actually call. She said, "I don't have it available and need to look it up, but you can just google "MOSO." I was like really, well I'll wait on hold while you get it for me, and she wouldn't even attempt to do it, and said I can't so you can google it. I searched and it pulls nothing, and that's when she finally said its called Motionsoft. Still would not do this herself or even apologize for ownership of this problem with my extra charges. Liz Cartwright is the worst inconsiderate GM I have ever spoken with and I advise all members to watch if you cancel, because she has no idea how to run a business.

On July 12th, I signed up for personal training. After the second personal training session, my left knee started to hurt. It was not any fault of the trainer at all. She was amazing. I then decided to see a doctor and I am currently under a doctor's care for my knee. On Tuesday, I went in to inquire about canceling my personal training because of my injury. I asked the front desk staff who I needed to speak with to cancel the training. Someone came to the front desk and started to ask me why I wanted to cancel my personal training in front of other members and the front desk staff. The person did not introduce himself nor did he tell me his title in the facility. Turns out he is the director of personal training. I did not want to disclose my personal information in front of the other staff and members who were coming and going. I simply told him that I could not make training a priority right now. His response to me (in front of everyone again) was that I must be having financial hardship. It is very poor customer service to define someone's situation as financial hardship, especially in front of other people. I should have been taken to a more private area in the facility to discuss my situation. I returned the next day with a note from my doctor verifying that I was under her care for my knee. At that time, there was no director available to help me so my trainer placed the note on the director's desk. Within five minutes of leaving Onelife, I contacted Onelife and asked if someone could call me regarding the situation. Instead, I was given an email address and told to email the director of personal training, Justin. I emailed the director to let him know I had dropped off the note and I asked him to let me know what to do to move forward with canceling my personal training. As of this morning, 48 hours later, I had no response from Justin. I made a third visit to this facility today to try to resolve this problem. They told me that a director was not in so I asked them to find me someone to speak with, and the person who came to the front desk wanted to again discuss my situation at the front desk. I saw that she had an assistant general manger badge on so I asked her if we could move our discussion to somewhere a little more private. She took me to the hallway in the front lobby. When the assistant manager came to the front desk, a staff member told her my name and gave her a piece of paper with my name on it. The asst. manager said to me that my situation has been taken care of and Justin has emailed me and a refund was given. I told her that I have not received an email or a refund from the Justin. She asked me if my name was Heather and then realized that she had been talking about someone else's account with me. While talking to her, the director of personal training, Justin, walks in and goes straight to his office. She tells him I am there but he does not come out of his office to speak with me. I explain to her that I have already paid $270 for training and I have only been to a one hour session and a 40 minute session. When Brandon set up training with me, he told me that every member gets two free one-hour training sessions. Well I paid $270 for my one hour and 40 minute session. Plus Justin was going to have me pay $80 to cancel my personal training. I told her I wasn't paying anything else towards the personal training because I cannot utilize it to the fullest extent due to my injury. The asst. manager was playing the middle-man between myself and Justin because he would not come out of his office nor did he invite me in. I was told that I would not be charged the $80 and my personal training is canceled. I was also told that the $270 is a lost cause and I can't get any of that back. I told the general manager that this situation has not been pleasant and the customer service is very poor. His response was "I am sorry" and he walked away. Before I left, I found the asst. manager's tone to be rather patronizing towards me. I have reached out to corporate, but no response from them.

Great place, even when it’s busy it’s not terrible. I go during off times and there is always equipment open. Everything is very clean and the staff is very friendly. Just waiting for the adult pool to open!

I absolutely love this location! Excellent staff, brand new equipment, there's a personal trainer over there now (Caleb), and they just recently expanded their hours to accommodate more members. I really love everything that's going down at this gym, where they are headed in the future, and I can't wait for the big gym to open up!!

My husband ended his membership in January of this year with proof of his deployment orders, or so we thought. We have continued to be charged despite numerous attempts and complaints to have these charges reversed. This gym does not respect our service members and continues to charge us no matter how many times we call and complain. This is absolutely ridiculous, I would rate them 0 stars if I could. We have done everything they have asked us to do and they still cannot manage to resolve this.

I’ve been going to onelife for months now and I absolutely love it :) Today was the first time I’ve ever had a bad experience. I’ve been trying to get my boyfriend to try one life, so today he signed up for the free 3 day pass. In the process of signing him in, a manager by the name of Isaiah interrupted us and proceeded to grill my boyfriend over whether or not he was interested in becoming a member. My boyfriend said no, as he’d only been inside the gym for a few minutes and hadn’t even seen it or experienced it yet. Apparently the 3 day pass is only for people who are 100% sure they want to become a member. My question is, how will they know until they try out the gym? That’s what the pass is for! Anyways, after he said no, the guy very coldly told us my boyfriend has to pay if he wants to use the gym and walked away before we could ask any questions.

In the past, I've gotten bored pretty quickly at gyms. Not with this one--there is such a variety of things to do and areas to work out in at One Life that I almost feel like I'm getting a different workout every day. The staff are GREAT and the place is always spotless. Definitely recommend.
