I was told by the manager that I'd have some accidental charges refunded to me several weeks ago, but after checking my account I realized that they never did refund me the money. This is after playing phone tag with the manager and calling back on the issue many times. I loved the actual gym when I was a member (and had given it 5*) but this is just a hassle that I have to keep following up on. Very annoying.

I had to make stop in at Pivotal due to my gym being on the other side of town. I went in for my 2nd time in 3 weeks and everything went well. I met Allison and she was very nice! Who knows I may have to make the switch!

I really like this place, friendly staff, nice equipment, I have been in a bunch of fitness centers and this one is really hot, if You go there, You start sweating inmediatly even in winter, they REALLY NEED fans all over the place.

The first time I went to this gym was 2010 before I headed off for college and I LOVED it. Everyone was super sweet and fun and I even got a student discount. I joined the gym again when I moved back to Greenville and literally the only thing that changed was the floor and walls. Alot of the equipment is exactly the same and numerous machines in the women's room are broken. I wish they put their money into more fitness related things rather than the appearance of the facility. Also, it was quite expensive for a gym in my personal opinion.

They have a new manager for the third time in last 6 months. They keep doing the same things wrong however. Wrongly charged my credit card without permission. The gym is hot - too hot for a GYM. Reported broken and potentially dangerous issue with same equipment four times -still not fixed. They play very loud overhead "music" which is obnoxious even though everyone in the gym brings in their own. Priorities are money and new memberships.

I do not know why the negative reviews about this gym! Transferring jobs I know nothing about on that. The staff and class of members here are great. Big gym, clean. I really enjoy it. Guys staring at girls? Really what gym do you go to where a pretty woman is not going to be stared at. Unless it's a gay gym. I'm married but I will look at every woman that walks in just like the woman do at men. Unless your disrespectful to someone seriously? Get over your low self esteem fella. We're all here to better our apperance

I'm a new member at pivotal and I must say that after going to many many gyms over the past 40 years, yes 40, this is by far the nicest, cleanest most well equipped gym I've ever joined. The staff is awesome, the classes plentiful with great well trained instructors. The personal trainers top notch too. I'd recommend this gym to anyone. Oh! And a sauna too!

Been coming here for the past couple of months. I enjoy how big the facility is. There's tons of equipment that meets my needs. The staff is very helpful. Joe is always a friendly face when I walk through the door. The trainers are always helpful and answer any questions I have. I am always greeted with a smile by the girls working the front desk. I highly recommend this gym!!

Run from this place! If you ever transfer because of your job, they will do everything in their power to make you keep your contract! I was transferred over 200 miles away, live in a hotel, and they would not accept a letter from my employer regarding my transfer. They must be hurting for our money. Find a different gym because this place is horrible!

I've joined a few gyms since moving to South Carolina 6 years ago. Pivotal Fitness is by far the best! The gym is clean, the employees are friendly and welcoming, they offer free day-care for members, and there is a wide assortment of classes. The trainers who run the classes are the best around. Also, for the ladies who like to work out privately, Pivotal has an extensive workout section for ladies only! I would recommend Pivotal Fitness to anyone who wants to join a first-class gym.

The gym is nice. The cancellation policy is aweful. I move a lot for work and have been a member of countless gyms. I have never had a more difficult time. I have had to write letters at some but that is nothing compared to here. I was moving out of state and they wanted a bill or pay stub to prove I was moving. How would I have a bill to my new address or pay stub until I had moved already. They said I could FAX it after. What a pain of a membership. Avoid at all costs. The gym is nice but you are a prisoner once you sign up.

We were members here when they opened originally and have come back to an even better gym with a nice clean facility supported by a friendly and helpful staff. The hours are very flexible and we find the additional resource of the performance center an option for a cross training workout to break up the normal free weight routine. All of the cardio equipment is maintained to the highest level and they have from what I can tell the latest machines.

My experience at pivotal Fitness has been AWESOME.. when I went in to meet THOMAS CARON my trainer everyone was friendly, they showed me around ..very very nice gym people are great trainers are AWESOME!!! So this is my 2nd week I lost 2 1/2 pads.first week and can’t wAit to see my total transformation it’s going to happen .. Pivotal Fitness is a great gym! The staff, group fitness instructors, and trainers are wonderful- very knowledgeable and friendly. The facility is huge with very nice equipment. Additionally, there is a separate women’s-only area that is also large with lots of great machines.

The worst customer service from someone in a management position I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I left several messages for the owner and manager with no returned call. I moved across the state and informed them weeks in advance and asked what was required to cancel the membership. After receiving the wrong information it took over two months and more paperwork to cancel the membership than buying a house. The employees who worked at the front desk were willing to help, but I was always transfered to the assistant manager and hit a brick wall every time. Caryn was less than helpful and also refused to answer or return my calls. This gym is not worth the money or hassle.

Purchased training sessions in December Was mislead aboit who would be handling them. Went for a scheduled session in January and that trainer was no longer there. No one bothered to call and explain anything. New management wasn’t willing to give a refund on the remaining sessions. Only wanted to extend the memberships for 3 months. Not interested in extending membership. Membership was paid a year in advance. Beware of purchasing training sessions

They made it so complicated when I moved away and tried to cancel my membership. I got married so my last name changed as well, which added to the complications. I was given misinformation about how to cancel and has to wait until I received my new ids. I also invited a friend to a challenge and they tricked her into signing up for a membership. She did not even realize what she had signed up for and they started charging her credit card! Just be cautious when deciding to join this gym!

I absolutely LOVE this gym. The reason I switched to Pivotal from Gold's was initially for better childcare for my baby. Ms. Phyllis in the nursery is AMAZING and treats my daughter like she was her own grandbaby. After switching, I cannot believe I did not make the change sooner. The women's side to the gym is huge and has all of the main machines, weights, and equipments you would want to use in the main gym but may want more privacy or a bigger area to exercise in. Both the men and women have their own sauna attached to their locker room. And the classes are great. I love tabata which is something I had never tried before Pivotal. Pilates and barre are also some of my favorites. The people are very welcoming and the juice bar attached to the gym has really delicious peanut butter protein balls. If you are looking for a new gym I would definitely check this one out!

My contract ended in December and they automatically renewed my contract and then wouldn't refund me the money they pulled out they informed me I have to give written notice after contract ends to make sure I didn't want to renew.. That's wrong and if that's the case what's a contract for?

Some equipment is okay. As a whole, I do not like this gym. The trainers are a joke. It seems the only reason they are there is to entertain the clients. The exercises these guys have their clients do are ridiculous! Why would an obvious 65+ man need to use a bar in an overhead position to stretch his shoulders? Doesn't add up. So called "trainers" aside, 95% of the members here have ZERO gym etiquette! They stare extremely creepy at any female who enters the open area. Side note: I had to share a few words with a "gentleman" who was eyeing my girlfriend a little too much. Also, any gym should not have to have a "women's area". Just having to have this area says a lot about your establishment in a negative fashion. Enough about this place. Save yourself the trouble, find another gym. ,

Pros: Plenty of workout equipment and good class selection. Staff is generally pretty nice. Cons: A little pricey. Showers not typically very clean. Takes a few requests before they stop charging you, even up to 3 months after requesting to cancel membership.

Would give 0 stars if I could. Cancellation policy is terrible & customer service is subpar... VERY FRUSTRATING. - Cameron (office manager?) said on the first day of acquiring our membership that my fiancé and I would be able to freeze the account if ever needed without payment being taken for that month. On September 1st we decided to freeze our account, as Cameron assured we could... we froze the account from September TO January 1st. We recently noticed that payment had been taken for BOTH months so far (Sept. & Oct.) so we decided to contact Cameron. Cameron advised he couldn't find the forms we filled out right in front of him to freeze our account - stated he would look for them and get back to us so we can work things out. We haven't once received a call back from him & in short today we get told that our money will not be refunded to the account as assured. On top of this issue, we are still unable to cancel our membership. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.

This by far has been the WORST experience I've ever had. I cancelled my membership when Pivotal charged me $30 for a maintenance fee that I was NEVER told about when I signed up. I initially spoke with Jena who stated the maintenance fee is charged after 6 months with the gym. When I told her I hadn't even been there for 6 months she changed her story

Terrible customer service, after I got married and moved across the country I tried to cancel and it has taken 5 months and still being charged!! after sending multiple requests & their required piece of mail with new address on it yet it "kept getting lost". terrible way to run any business. Do yourself a favor and go to any other gym in town.

Gym is good. I moved in November and according to our cancellation policy, I should get a refund. Jeremy approved it in November when I brought in proof of moving and still have not seen a refund. I can't get anyone at the gym now to give me a straight answer. Last I was told is Jeremy left and a new manager was starting.

Plenty of equipment and space to work out. The showers could use some work - soap dispensers about to fall off the wall, curtain rods missing clips for the curtains, some towel hooks broken. The locker room is spacious enough.

Wish I could give this a -100000 stars. Cancelled membership in Sep 2017. Charged my husband and I a maintenance fee $30 in Dec 2017. Visited several times, asked to speak with manager in reference getting money back and then just got charged again another $30 Feb 2018. They owe me now $60! And I don’t even have a membership with them any more WTH is wrong with this place!!!! Please just go to planet fitness or somewhere else. These people WILL steal your money. This is like a mini nightmare. They just have my back account and there is nothing i can do to stop them from charging me.

Pivotal Fitness in Taylors, SC is a really good gym. They have a huge array of different kinds of machines and everything is very clean. They have a handy little café and even childcare facilities on-site. Best of all the customer service is fab. Overall I am extremely happy with PF in Greer/Taylors and would recommend it highly.

While I enjoyed my experience as a member at Pivotal Fitness, the membership cancellation process was(and still is) incredibly frustrating. Early this spring I went in to renew my credit card as it was expiring and specifically asked when my 2 year membership was up. I was told August. This month, I called to request that they take my credit card off of their records and was informed that I was now paying month-to-month. So, again I asked when my 2 year membership was up. The customer service rep informed me that it was up last April. I explained the situation and she informed me that "she trained her employees to make a note in a member's profile whenever something like this happens, and because there was no note, she could not take my word for it." From one customer service provider to another, treating your clients as though they are dishonest is one of the fastest ways to receive poor reviews. She did not even try to work with me. I can put up with a lot, but being treated poorly when I have been nothing but a loyal, paying customer is unacceptable. If my clients ever walk away feeling the way I felt after speaking with her, then I have failed at my job. I don't think this is the kind of reputation Pivotal Fitness wants to carry with them.

If you want to pay a trainer to say that everything you're doing is great and never once push you or correct your terrible form, regardless of its potential future impact on your body, get a trainer here. The trainers who ask their clients to do squats on an upside down bosu ball (asking for injury) or watch on passively as their clients blatantly slack off, are the same ones who go out of their way to criticize and single out those of us actually using the equipment for its intended purpose. They refuse to respond to any feedback or requests of loyal members. Their sole concern is earning money. The list of equipment in need of repair for years at a time and new types of machines requested unfulfilled is too long to itemize. The main reason I workout here is my close group of workout friends who push one another, they are amazing and inspirational. Christina's Zumba class is fun too. The location is semi convenient. The juice bar would be a great addition but the two main times I would eat there are Saturday afternoon and Sunday, both of which are times it is closed. The back room/cave is in dire need of repair and is extremely dirty and dangerous however it is the only open area for tire flips, bringing your own rubber plates for dropping during heavy lifting and wallball throws. The wifi service in here is terrible. Don't bother doing yoga unless you have checked that there are no other overlapping classes otherwise you will have to find your chi to the sound of loud bass and a screaming instructor. I would love to try any of the free Pilates classes (some have a fee) however all of them are scheduled during the day so no one outside of stay at home parents can attend. Don't get me wrong, I spend more hours here than at home awake, however its potential as a fitness, proper form, loyalty, athlete focused facility is FAR from being realized. I have been a member for 4.5 yrs. ***1/22/15 update*** My membership was revoked because of my honest review. This shows how they feel about making things better for the loyal members who do care.

I would give this place less than one star if possible. They handle business HORRIBLY. I called multiple times when I was pregnant to cancel my membership. The last person I spoke with said someone else would call me back and that it was noted. I had inadvertently been charging this to a cc that I didn't manage as well. All of a sudden, I got slapped with a several month charge on my account. The woman on the phone said that they need cancellation in writing IN PERSON. I said nobody told me that. She said it "only takes 5 minutes to come in"-I said, well, I was told my membership was cancelled before, i have two children under two and if i had time to physically go in I would actually be working out. She said that's not my problem (except, it is, since she wasn't wiling to work with me AND someone a year ago said my membership was cancelled!). She refused to help or refund anything. Said the only way to cancel was by physically coming in or by fax. Fax, seriously??? I, yes, got angry because they can clearly see I haven't been in over a year, and they do not care. I assumed my membership was cancelled since I hadn't had any charges----the fact they went and BACKCHARGED me is inexcusable. I asked her if there wasn't something else they could do-she refused and proceeded to hang up on me. Awful place to do business with. Not to mention the facilities are gross and it is an ugly gym with no windows, terribly lighting and half of the machines do not work
