Love how empty the gym is. The equipment is old and not very well taken care of, but the variety of equipment allows you to get a good quality work out. Only reason why I decided to get membership was because of how close and convenient it is to my house. However, when I get here at 7:45am on a Sunday to work out.. and they are still closed.. I feel like in a way, I am getting robbed of my membership. No signs, or anything saying otherwise. Very unprofessional staff.

Feels like going to used car dealership when trying to sign up, line access fee, processing fee, enrollment fee, annual fee. There fleas on top of fleas, gym is nice but might need to rethink your Business model

Have been going here for 3 years, dorchester road is one of, if not the, best 02 location. Never too crowded, locker rooms in good condition and always clean. Plenty of machines and weight options. Staffs always nice too.

I love my gym! The staff here are fantastic and very caring. Tons of different equipment to choose from. My personal trainer has really helped me get ready for swimsuit season. My favorite part of this gym is the pool and the variety of classes offered at the pool. I love O2fitness!!!

DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE PERMISSION TO DRAFT YOUR BANK ACCOUNT. My wife and I both signed 2 year contracts during a promotion in early 2016. Promotion was supposed to include 6 months free at the end of the contract...checked my bank statement and they've been billing BOTH OF US the whole time throughout the "free" period. Total cost of the over charges is looking to be more than $500.00. I'm hoping they will straighten this mess out and I can add something positive to this otherwise negative review.

Dirty and disgusting. Pay a lot of money to be a member and am very angry with the service. The gym is dirty and the pool is disgusting. After swimming in it once my family and I got sick. No one knows which end is up and the hot tub looks like it's from the horror movie the ring! It's aweful and I am so glad I revoked my membership.

This place is like they never cleaned it up before - the management is terrible, the pool is gross, and after they sell you a membership, they cancel all the classes, and act like they are doing you a favor anytime you need any help.

Horrendous disappointment!!!! I'm from Orlando, FL and most gyms are clean, populated, and luxurious. I joined this gym for group classes and access to the pool but sadly the pool is RARELY cleaned which I found out 11 days too late!!!! When I joined on a weekday afternoon, I thought it was just an odd day that few people were there working out, but no, I was wrong. I quickly found out why. As noted by other reviewers since, the locker room smells moldy, the sauna should be condemned, classes are frequently canceled without noticed, staff turn-over is high, and new staff are clueless as to what classes they actually have at this location. Moreover, there is an additional fee to help fix up this place but I'm seriously wondering where that money is going towards because it's clearly not to make upgrades, correct webmaster calendar of classes, to add more classes, or for pool cleaning supplies. Worse, membership discounts for government employees was not initially applied by the salesperson prior to contract signing so I ended up paying more than my colleagues who have since left this gym for better gyms! Finally, you can't cancel your membership for such horrible service or deplorable conditions!!!!! Lesson learned - go with your instinct and visit many gyms for 2 weeks to observe patterns/conditions before selecting one...

I’ve been a member of this club for over a 1 year and it is like a second home for me. Anna is a great personal trainer and a wonderful group fitness leader. Johnny is a great club manager and since taking over the faculty has transformed it into new horizons. This gym has become a second home for me. All front desk staff our amazing. From Sami to Dakota everyone does a awesome job at making fitness easy for anyone.

Major disappoint. I'm from California originally and majority of the gyms are luxurious. I joined this gym because I love working out but quickly canceled thanks to the 2 week money back guarantee. I quickly realized it was a terrible gym in every category. The locker rooms smell dank and moldy, it's completely falling apart, the sauna looks like something out of a horror film, the bathroom is gross, the gym equipment are totally outdated like seriously how are we supposed to make gains off crappy equipment? You have to hunt weights down to add to your machine because they're scattered all around the room overall the place is old and low quality. The staff are way too desperate to make you join and push their personal trainers on you even when you tell them you're against having a personal trainer. They make you pay a fee to help fix up the place but I'm seriously wondering where the money is going towards because it's clearly not to make upgrades. Anyway I'm currently at newer, nicer, bigger gym, paying way less. The staff there don't push any memberships because they know any good gym will speak for itself, and I'm currently getting in good solid workouts.

AVOID O2 Fitness!!! Stopped to cancel my account months ago. No one told me that I had to do it online. I thought I was good. Apparently that is some trick to keep getting your payments. Three months later found it was still going on my credit card. I did not argue to get reimbursed for the prior months. All I wanted was the membership stopped immediately. Not only would they not do that. They charged me for the annual usage fee even though I am canceling and charged me into the next month. Their records clearly show I last came in to a gym in April and was almost a daily regular before then. They have taken payments for three months of non-use, and still want to take me to collections for a month and a half membership they are charging me for and an annual club fee that came due the same time I’m canceling and I am not even a member of the club to benefit from. Find another gym!

Only place around with indoor pool. Visited one day pool was gross and pool company was just there?! The pool could make this place a goldmine, I have bad back and need to swim. But not there!!! Locker room not clean showers ok but plumbing jacked up each stall different controls for hot and cold. Wasn't the cheapest option but I would have paid more if pool was clean. Lady (regular member) said pool usually good but doors and trim all around falling apart roof panels not close all the way. Gee wonder why pool dirty. She also said there was a film on her watch when she went home. Too bad. They can call me when pool clean and some maintenance complete. Shoulda invested in current gym vs buying more...

This gym is nice. They have a good selection of equipment. Most of the time the gym is clean but after peak times it can get a little messy. The staff is always very friendly. Haven’t used the pool in a long time but when I did it was pretty clean, but you can tell they use a lot of chlorine.

The staff has always been very nice to me and despite the previous comments on the manager he has always been respectful. If I was not moving I would sign up for another year. All the cardio equipment is upstairs and the weightlifting downstairs so it never feels crowded. It has plenty of room for the cross fitters too although I don't do crossfit I appreciate the separation.

I love this gym! I’ve been searching for a good gym for over a year in this area and this was a perfect fit. I’ve gotten numerous people to sign up and they all love it as well. The staff is honestly awesome, they are super helpful and the gym is always clean. So much comes with your package like a pool, classes and free training. I also feel very safe putting my phone or keys down. It’s not judgy or crowded and loud. You also have access to all o2’s so if you’re stuck in traffic on the other side of Summerville you can just go to that location. I love it!!!

Holly , the yoga instructor is GREAT ! First time attending her class and I felt great after. Love how she adds meditation at the end. Definitely attending her classes here on out .

Weights and equipment are okay but my real gripe is how this location (which is the only location in North Charleston) gets no love from the company and really needs to either be tore down and redesigned from scratch on a new building or just move into another building all together. I've watched other O2 locations get major and nice upgrades and have also seen brand new locations open up in James Island and most recently Moncks Corner. North Charleston is a bussling and busy area and for some reason the company thinks that this current location is enough to compete with all of the other gyms located in the area. Seriously if you live in North Charleston or near this location stick to Gold's, Pivotal Fitness, Planet Fitness, Crunch Fitness which there will soon be one of those opening up right down the road on Ladson Road. The members deserve better especially with the rates and prices they charge. I've been patiently waiting for upgrades and something better to happen ever since they were still East Shore Athletic Club which has still to date has not happened.

I enjoy this location. Maybe it could use a facelift but the equipment is good and well maintained and the staff is friendly. If you're showing up to actually workout then you shouldn't have any complaints.

The Dorchester staff is always really nice and helpful. My sign-up rep Olivia was wonderful. The pool seems clean -- no residue on the surface. But there is absolutely no reason there are extremely rusty doors next to the pool & that you have to hang your towel near the pool over brooms & other janitorial supplies. Why are the ceiling panels always open like something is not being fixed? This allows tree leaves & other debris to fall onto the water's surface. Also, what if it starts to rain? The pool area and locker rooms look very old. At $50/mo + an annual upkeep fee these areas shouldn't appear forgotten. Hopefully corporate reads this review and those regarding O2's other locations so renovations get underway (like expected since the buyout from that other fitness chain). Then this 'fitness center with the cool name' might begin to be tops in the region.

It's a Gym that has come a long way it has been renovated, but it needs more work. The counter girls may give you attitude, it's hit and miss depending on who is there. The staff will lie and I mean lie !! Let's just leave it at that. Also the pool has grime and nasty stuff all over it and looks like it was put in in the 70s. When the equipment breaks it does take a little too long to fix sometimes. But don't you dare cross paths with the manager he takes roid rage to a whole new meaning. He will do this to his employees and this is super unprofessional. But in all reality for a pool that is so nasty most ppl won't use and the money you will pay. GO TO GOLDS ITS ONLY 1/2 mile further and for less money you get to be "top of the line membership" with free massage chair sessions and tanning every time you come in. And where as you have to have a promotional card or your guest has to pay to workout at 02 fitness you get a free guest every time you come in at Golds

This is where gym equipment goes to die. The space smells deeply of mildew and is hot. The equipment is old, and looks like equipment that was fished out of the dumpster from a better gym after an overhaul. Looking at several of O2s newer facilities, it appears like they just buy the cheapest equipment to try to look like a fancy health club. However, using such cheap equipment and having 1 set of each piece of equipment at several of their other locations. It is clear that the Dorchester Rd location will continue to just be a trash heap.
