Olympia Fitness + Performance was a great find for me. My Trainer Mike Lefebvre provided me with the right amount challenge and motivation to get me to the point of seeing and feeling the results. Now I am addicted. Steve and Mike are real fitness professionals. I would recommend this gym to anyone who wants to take their health, appearance and diet to new levels. Be ready to work...it is no social event!!!

You are seriously missing out if you don't go check out this gym! The first class is FREE, so why not give it a try! The trainers here are always attentive, helpful, motivating, and knowledgeable. The small group workouts are dynamic and challenging, yet the trainers accommodate people of all ages and abilities. I even got both my parents to come check it out and now they workout here a few times a week! Workouts are not only focused on strength and cardio, but also balance and mobility. The workouts are HARD...and you will leave feeling muscles you never knew existed! The trainers are always pushing us to our limits, all while focusing on correct form and safety. The workouts are never the same so, YOU WILL SEE RESULTS! I am stronger than I ever have been! This gym does a great job at welcoming everyone, of all abilities. I never felt intimidated or out of place, which happens often at other gyms. I honestly cannot imagine working out anywhere else.

I've known Mike Lefebvre since elementary school. He got me to go to Olympia Fitness and Performance. I was put through workouts by him and Steve Zarriello, the owner, while I was training there. “Post Rehab Program” is a Wonderful new program to get your life back after an injury. The best thing I have ever done for myself is join this gym 3 years ago. I recently had an injury that stopped my regular class training with Maura Zimmer. I needed help coming back without causing further injury and Maura asked if I would like to try the new Post Rehab Program with personalized sessions twice a week. We started slowly, she constantly evaluated and tailored the workouts as my mobility and strength increased and after one month I am feeling great and back in class. Maura is an excellent trainer who listens and brings individualized attention to keep you motivated and coming back. I highly recommend this gym and program. Thanks Maura.

The classes are great-- they are all very different! I get bored at my regular gym, so this is a great addition to my workouts. The trainers are amazing- I enjoy all of them as they all bring something to the workouts! They all are extremely passionate about fitness and ensuring you are there to learn how to do things correctly and effectively. I really think this place is great for anyone starting out on their fitness journey or already working out for years... you can always work on getting stronger, faster, or better form etc, and they will help you do this!

By far one of the best places to get a workout in the state!!!! I work in the nutrition industry and have tried various methods of group exercise, many very costly. They adapt instruction for all fitness levels and pay close attention to all members working in a group, many sessions varying in ability and size. Not only do they provide challenging workouts, but they explain how they work the body so we can better understand what the benefits of each exercise are. The staff is friendly encouraging and fun and the overall vibe and energy is amazing! I look forward to consistent workouts every week!

Steve Zarriello and the Staff at The Way HPI do an outstanding job working with athletes of all ages be the best they can be. I have worked with The Way over the last several years as high school coach. Steve and his staff have done an unbelievable job preparing my athletes to compete at the highest level. The building of individual programs for each athlete is a crucial element to each athlete working on the parts of their physical development that requires the most attention. Steves ability to have the kids understand the benefit of each component of their program also allows each individual to engage, commit and be accountable to their training plan. I see it now with my own son, after just a few months with The Way he is making great strides in his physical development in both strength and explosiveness. I highly recommend The Way to any young athlete looking for a strength building program.

I have been going to the way for 4 years, however I have been working out with Jaime and Steve since 2007. As a former college athlete, there is not a better place to work out than The Way. Jaime, Steve and Fish will plan your workouts according to what results you are looking for, whether it is cutting weight, gaining muscle, increasing your flexibility, injury prevention or improving your overall performance on an athletic field. Also, if you are working out with a class, everyone is very friendly, always willing to help if you are new to the gym to make you feel at home while pushing ourselves as hard as we can.

Let me start by saying that the Way is probably one of the best things that has ever happened to me. The trainers there have taught me so much. I started at the Way with no knowledge of how to properly work out and diet. I have to say that the people who work out there are all wonderful people. The trainers Steve and Mike are so helpful and knowledgeable. They really push me to perform at my best. No matter the question I have for them, they always have an answer. The Way Human Performance Institute is a fantastic, never done anything like it before kind of work out. It's literally a different work out every time you go. I do the group Life sessions. From the warm up, to the weight and cardio circuit, to the core exercises at the end, in one hour, you will open up the faucet, drench your clothing and leave feeling exhilarated. The instructors are great and teach you what to do and push you when they think its necessary.

I was referred to Olympia Fitness by several friends who have attended in preparation for the Police Academy. Let me say, in under two months of attending, I've noticed a huge difference in my athletic performance. Not only are the trainers extremely knowledgeable and professional, they care about their clients and their goals. About 15 months ago I was diagnosed with one torn disc and two bulging discs. The pain was intense enough that I was unable to play golf. In fact, I could not stand, sit, or lie down for an extended period of time. I felt awful. I did some physical therapy and went to a chiropractor but neither gave me lasting relief. My golf professional, Matt Walsh, suggested I go to see Steve Zarriello at Olympia Fitness. Steve explained to me that back pain is very often associated with weak core muscles. He knows because he has personally dealt with disc troubles himself. I spent most of the last 20 years working behind a desk and did not exercise much at all, so it made sense that my core was weak. I learned that it wasn't a matter of just doing sit-ups: the core is more extensive than abs. As a certified Titleist Performance Institute trainer, Steve designed a program for me to get me out of pain with the eventual goal of getting me back on the golf course. The program is rigorous and difficult and takes a real commitment. I go three times per week There were some setbacks along the way-- a couple of minor muscle pulls and strains--but Steve made adjustments to the routine as necessary. Every four weeks there is a new routine targeting areas that Steve feels I need to work on. He uses a combination of periodic assessments and feedback from me to find the right mix of exercises. I can't emphasize enough that it takes time and commitment to fix back pain, but the investment is worth it! After two and one half years of pain and discomfort, I just spent the last month virtually pain free! I started playing golf again and can play 18 holes now without pain. Plus, I'm hitting the ball further with less effort. My goal is to play in a three day tournament in September, and I'm confident that I will participate. When I started, I was a train wreck. Slowly but surely I am putting the train back on the track. I'm grateful to Steve and his staff for their patience and professionalism, and I'm looking forward to continuing my training. If you're suffering from back pain, whether you are a golfer or not, I recommend that you visit Olympia and get started.

No matter how in shape you are, how well trained in the gym you may be, these trainers will be able to show and teach you more. The workouts at The Way will continuously challenge you physically and mentally each time you are there. Both trainers, Steve and Mike are there supporting you, encouraging you, and are there to constructively correct your form to give you the most optimal workout possible. There are a variety of group sessions you can choose from which keep your workout routine new and refreshed. There has not been one day leaving that gym that I did not feel as though I received a total full body workout, while enjoying myself doing it.

I have been going to the Way for 3 years now. I enjoy that Jamie, Steve, and Fish take the time to work with you and correct you during your workout. Their workouts are intense and they are geared for whatever sport or activity that you may doing. I have seen an increase in my strength and agility in playing volleyball and I have been injured less due to the workouts that they have structured for my sport.

I started coming here about a month and a half ago and I'm completely blown away by their workouts. I had previously been going to a different training gym for the past 3 years and thought I was in good shape until I started coming here. Man was I wrong. The trainers here really push you to give every workout your all and do things you never thought you could do. In just a month and a half I have made huge improvements stamina wise and have leaned out dramatically. For the first time ever I look forward to working out and don't view it as a chore. This will honestly be one of the best workouts you will ever have. Each time you come in, there are new exercises and activities for you to do. The workouts are always different and I always feel accomplished when I finish. Steve, the owner has also helped me trained for my first half marathon in 2015 and I am currently training for my second. I did suffer a minor knee and hip injury after my first race, but Steve provided me with the tools to help make a speedy recovery. He continues to provide me with helpful tips and workout plans that help me reach my goals. This gym is definitely different than most gyms I have belonged to in the past. It is more like a team and together we motivate each other to push hard, but have fun while doing so. If you feel like you want to challenge yourself, this is the place to do it!

It only took me one session to fall in love with The Way. I have never in my life been in better shape or felt better about myself. The Way offers group training so I arranged a class every Tuesday for myself and all my girlfriends. The trainers always were able to switch something up for each person... if you were advanced, a little bit harder and if you were a beginner like myself, they would modify to make sure I could keep up. I also took morning classes. Every class different, focusing on different core workouts. The only reason I am not still working out at The Way is because I moved to Florida in September. I stand behind the team at The Way 100% and wish them nothing but success. I cant wait to drop in for some classes when I am back in town to visit.

I am a Firefighter, was injured and need micro-dissections on L4-L5 and L5-S1. I was afraid to injure my back again and gained weight and become "de-conditioned" as I nursed my injury. I started working with Steve. He worked with my and around my injury. Strengthening my core. I also started working with Michelle at the Gym's Power of Touch Massage center and they created a team approach to getting healthy again. I have been working out with The Way HPI for over a year now and can honestly say they are some of the best fitness professionals I have ever worked with. I come from a Division 1AA college football background so I have accumulated a number of imbalances and injuries. When I recently lost a good amount of weight I tried Crossfit for a change of pace. That style of workout only exacerbated my weaknesses and caused more injury. After working 1 on 1 with Jaime and getting advice and help from both Steve and Eric I have been able to strengthen my weak areas and work out with significantly less pain and discomfort. Olympia Fitness and Performance has made a huge positive impact in my life and athletic abilities. When I started with them, I was succeeding in my sport but by compensating for weakness due to an injury. I was a few months out from having surgery, and had lost a lot of strength. Through personal training with Steve before surgery, I gained strength and stability that set me up to be as prepared as possible for recovery. After surgery, training with Steve was unquestionably a huge key in my recovery. When I came back to the gym, I could hardly walk normally, let alone feel like I was "working out." Steve was understanding of my weaknesses, and is excellent at working through injury or rehab with consideration of limitations, yet creating significant results and improvement. My doctors and therapists at HSS continue to be complimentary of how strong I've recovered, and it's in large part thanks to training at Olympia. I returned to play faster than anticipated, have felt strong, and have valued the work Steve has continually put in when I do find weaknesses to help me address them. The programs at Olympia are top-notch, and I am unquestionably a stronger and better athlete because of them. The trainers are well-educated, experienced, and kind. The facility is immaculate, and the quality of the Olympia experienced is unmatched in Rhode Island.

I have now been training at Olympia Fitness and Performance for over 3 years. Prior to joining Olympia Fitness and Performance I believed I was knowledgeable on conditioning and weight training. My weekly training goals were to maintain my muscle mass while performing cardio drills to maintain my stamina. As I was approaching a seasoned age of 60, injuries became a common occurrence causing me to spend months at a time away from what I love to do. The team at Olympia Fitness and Performance has introduced me to a new way of training were I am now focused on being Functionally Fit. The Olympia Fitness team is well educated, experienced and committed to their clients. During the last three years I have not performed the same exercise routine, yes.... you read that correctly. I work out at least three to four times per week. My hour workouts consist of a combination of weight training, cardio and calisthenics. My heart rate reaches capacity during every session. If you are an active retired Athlete or Martial Artist. And your looking to maintain your ability to run, kick and punch a bag, you need to swing by and try 90 days of HIIT, Functional Fit or a Heavy Metal class, you will be happy you did. Steve g

I have belonged to this Gym twice and have learned my lesson that i will not be leaving any time so. The training programs that are run daily meet the needs of there clients. The daily workouts challenge you, keeping your body guessing whats coming next while allowing you a fresh set of exercises to keep you into working out. The Way HPI has provided a great experience for me. Its a gym with small classes, committed trainers and a great program. The trainers know each participant by name, exercise routines are varied each class and in my experience, everybody there has been welcoming and encouraging. I know the gym works with elite athletes and also with local firemen and policemen who must maintain a level of physical fitness. However, a soft 60 year old with an artificial hip is not out of place (how do you think I know). Steve and Mike are very attentive and help everyone maintain proper form, or modify exercises where necessary. Classes are co-ed and I have found the place to have a very non-judgemental vibe, everyone is there to improve their lives, one workout a a time. Best thing I have done for myself this year.

You get individualized attention and they make a point to correct your form to prevent bad habits and injuries. As a physical therapist I trust sending my patients here for post-rehab and personal training because I know they will get put through an appropriate program. This place is great. It is for beginners and advanced alike. And it isn't an intimidating place to work out in. The classes are fun to be in, the people friendly and outgoing. You will feel welcome here. Always greeted with a hello and a smile. You will see improvement in your stamina and strength. Steve, Mike and Maura all know what they are doing. They give you what they know you can handle but that will challenge you. They will show you correct form so you don't hurt yourself. This place is a pretty good size with a range of equipment, and with written exercises designed by knowledgeable trainers, you won't ever be bored. They offer classes pretty much all day, so you'll be able to fit exercising here into your schedule. I highly recommend you try this place out. I guarantee you will see improvements. This place is a gem, well worth every penny.
