I have had nothing but a positive experience at Me Fitness. They are in the process of rebranding and I am looking forward to the new offerings in equipment and classes to come. The girls at the front desk are always super friendly and helpful in answering any questions I may have about class times and equipment availability. I love that Me Fitness offers a wide variety of classes from TRX training, cycling, yoga to Heather Craig's fabulous Booty Luv™ class. The gym never seems crowded and is a nice option to the larger gyms with no windows or neighborhood vibe.

Equipment is a bit old but functional. Terrible music...awful pop & hip hop. UPDATE Summer '16: Music has improved, and there is some new equipment. A reasonably solid gym.

Ronnie Lewis

Small gym, so if you're into the fitness aspect of working out as opposed to the social aspect this is the gym for you. It's open 24 hours to members, the "store hours" refer to the service desk.

Love the feel of this place. It may seem imposing upon first entry, but that all seems to subside once you're really inside. I found this place when Tula Bakery was on the ground floor and I entered through the building. The front desk folks have always been friendly and so one day I asked if they had massage therapists in the place. Why, yes, of course, they do. Offered two different cards with info, I selected Namaste Rae. She's delightful and has the perfect vibes for me. It seems she has a set schedule and she's quite busy, so call ahead for your day and time. I believe she offers several types of massage. Whatever the type, I'm pleased. Google her name, you'll find a way to connect. The parking is sketchy at certain times of day and it's tricky to park larger vehicles, if you have a choice. A bus line runs on the street outside.

Great gym facility and classes. Yoga is quite good too. Awesome value and very clean.

Great classes taught by committed, upbeat professionals; friendly well-trained front desk staff and (most important for me) clients who are kind, caring, intelligent and open to friendship. I finally found an exercise facility that has it all! an exercise facility that has it all!

OK at best. I use this gym because I’m a working mom who lives across the street and I do not have time to travel further. Three stars for the 24/7 access and the friendly staff. But, the gym itself is mediocre. Equipment is never updated, always dirty as well as missing several staple pieces that you would see anywhere else. Not family friendly - no childcare or fitness options for kids. Gym is expensive - gym access is close to $50, but you can not participate in classes and have to pay another $75 to add the class package which still does not include all classes! Definitely a gym for convenience and would never join otherwise.

This is a great gym in northeast portland. It is sooo much better than 24 Hour Fitness. The personal trainers are great too.

Love the gym. Nice equipment and well maintained. My personal trainer, Melanie Cooke is fabulous. In tune with my needs and always presents a great workout/ethnic.

Be very careful with the cancellation policy and terms hidden in the fine print on the contract you sign to join this gym. Long story short, my credit card information got stolen a few months ago and instead of updating my card information. I stopped going; life got in the way. There's an access card you use to get in the building and swipe entry into the gym. They have record that I haven't been in months. It was totally my fault for not staying on top of one of the many moving parts in my life. I ended up with a $100 balance on my account that I have to pay before I can technically “cancel” my membership. I now know that the policy requires 30 days written notice? It’s the first gym I’ve been a member of and I didn’t realize it was this tough to get out of a contract. My fault. The email collateral I received regarding a payment failure didn’t state a thing about $ balance accrual. A note to update the card to avoid a "fee" but I was completely unaware that this could end up being $100+. I’m VERY frustrated. There’s plenty of room to improve these lanes of communication, increase transparency and ways to lighten the steps of the cancellation process.

The only disappointment I've had with this gym is the fact that we're moving away and I have to say goodbye. There is a lot that I love about this place: the 24hr access is awesome, the equipment is well maintained and plentiful, and the staff is friendly and was never once pushy with us. The most important thing for me, however, is the absence of your classic "gym bro" vibe. The management appears to value every body equally, there isn't a focus on aggressive or "manly" training, and a huge pool of qualified and capable women dominate the training and staffing rosters. As a customer I always felt comfortable and capable while working out, even alongside decidedly buffer people than myself, and that's what kept me coming back for hundreds of workouts over the past few years. I enjoyed the group classes, although I focused mostly on solo work. The prices are fair and the cancellation process wasn't a chore. Thanks for the good times, Me Fitness.

I've been going to Me Fitness for about 6 months and truly love this gym. The staff is wonderful - they're super helpful and friendly, and the gym has a really positive, feel-good vibe about it. The gym is always clean and other gym-goers are typically more than happy to share equipment. I'd highly recommend checking out Me Fitness.

Very friendly staff and plenty of classes

This place sucks it's so small with a slim selection of equipment over populated so its difficult to actually get a decent work out... you'll have to come in like modnightish just to make it worth coming and working out!!

I've been training for 3 years now in Minnesota and Oregon. Me Fitness Studios has been the best experience in my training experience. Compared to other gyms in Portland, Me Fitness is the cleanest and best ran. It is open 24 hours a day and has easy access to whatever you need. The staff doesn't try to "hard sell" you on gym gimmicks that you'll run into at many other gyms. I've been coming here for 6 months now, and Me Fitness continues to shine above the other gyms in Portland. It is great for novices, intermediate, and advanced trainers. Want a welcoming environment to get adjusted to gym life? This is the place. Want a place for advanced bodybuilding? This Me Fitness has all the tools to sculpt. You won't be disappointed!

My husband and I joined this gym a little over a month ago. Before doing so we researched gyms in the area, read reviews and even worked out at another gym. We went in fully expecting not to like this place, We had read the reviews about the sketchy pricing, macho atmosphere, and sales pressure. We decided to visit anyway as there were some positive reviews and the location is great. We did not experience any pushy sales tactics. Upon our first visit to the gym we were given an informative tour, told the about membership options and left alone to work out. It was made clear that we did not have to decide right away and that we could use our 3-day pass and decide when we felt ready. When we did sign up the pricing was exactly as promised and seemed quite clear and reasonable to me. After signing up we went through our complimentary training sessions, while they did try to "sell" us on personal training I didn't feel that it was a hard sell. We didn't buy any further personal training packages and didn't feel uncomfortable saying no. I've read reviews stating that there are no women working out in this gym and that the decor is very macho and made other women feel uncomfortable. Every time I've been there the women have outnumbered the men. The decor is red, black, and white and there are a lot of motivational posters and positive customer feedback posters. I didn't find it overwhelming or macho. Overall this is a great gym. The staff have all been nice and very helpful. The 24 hour access is very convenient and the location is great. If I could change one thing it would be to add some more open floor space to do combined cardio and resistance workouts. The largest area available with free floor space is where some classes are held so it's not always available.

Decent gym with a pushy membership gatekeeper named Phil. It's open 24 hours, offers a good selection of classes, and has decent equipment. That said, the jerk you have to deal with in order to become a member of this gym is a deal-breaker. I called in because they advertise a 3 day trial pass on their website. I said I was interested in that, and wanted to go to a class the next day to get started. I was told to go ahead and come to the class, and then Phil would give me a call when he got in to talk about making the trial membership official, and then we'd discuss the various long term membership options. The class was nice. It was an early morning spin class. The instructor had a good attitude, made the work out pleasant. Then I received a call from Phil. Even though I had called the day before to make sure it was ok, he told me I was not eligible for the 3-day trial membership because I had attended a class for free. WTF? I had only attended that class under the pretext that it would be the first day of my 3-day trial. Anyway, that didn't kill it for me right away, as I was genuinely interested in this gym. So we talked schedules, and because he only works from noon-7, and I work during the day and am not available during evenings, we couldn't meet up in person to discuss memberships. He was EXTREMELY reluctant to tell me about the memberships over the phone because they "were very complex, and difficult to understand." They're not btw. One membership is ~$60, but there's no commitment or up front fees, the other is cheaper, but you have to sign a contract. It's actually pretty straight forward. The more we talked, the pushier Phil became, and it became very unpleasant. Basically, Phil's bullishness pretty much squandered any desire I had to sign up for a membership.

I joined ME Fitness mostly because of its terrific location. I just wanted to take Zumba classes (which they have five times a week), but I decided to spring for some personal training so I could develop a workout and not injure myself. I can't say enough good things about the expertise, care, and personal attention I've received from Rebecca, the training manager. She has worked hard to tailor a workout to my particular needs, and I've begun to see real improvements. I believe their whole training staff is committed to safety and optimum results. ME Fitness feels like a real neighborhood place--kind of a "nothing fancy" vibe where the staff knows your name and things are casual, but with plenty of good equipment and classes. My reasons for docking one star are, as other reviewers have mentioned, a kind of shady-feeling, never-quite-straight pricing policy (I'm still not sure how much money I've committed to spend); and a less-than-stellar women's locker room. They desperately need two more bike racks, but staff tells me they've got an order in with the City for that.

Without a question, the best gym in Portland. Clean, well-run, and friendly staff. The best part? You can actually get in to use the equipment any time of day. Maybe a little busy between 4 and 6 PM, but you can still use the machines and equipment. I wouldn't go to any other gym in Portland.

Michelle Lane

Fantastic gym. Always someone friendly and knowledgeable at the front desk. Plenty of equipment to go around without it feeling too big. ☺️ Biggest plus is no one judges anyone. Very welcoming atmosphere, even for those of us starting to work out again after 20 years of no exercise.

Melissa Blitz

Nice and clean gym, usually is not super busy, 24 hour access, and has some really great classes/instructors/staff. Would definitely recommend anyone looking for a gym to go there!
