The necessary emissary to your whole health, swim run bike lift and renew with yoga.

I was visiting Bend for the weekend and snow sports were out because of some plantar fasciitis so finding this awesome parks and rec pool was the ticket!! Big Olympic 50m size pool for lap swimming and 2 rec pools for other needs. The locker room was clean and had lots of functional space. $6 if you’re over 59 or over and $8 other adults.

Good value, and for my first membership at a swim center, I'm pleased. I've swam my whole life, but do not have good technique. I appreciate the lanes for those of us who are 'slow', or are just getting better with our endurance. There are plenty of lockers and the pools are lovely. I think the prices are very good, especially if swimming is your focus. The only down side for me was walking into the building the first time. I was very intimidated by all the experienced swimmers, but I soon realized no one cared how good or bad I was, and I did my own thing.

I've never felt so alive!! The refreshing water cured my depression, and I have returned to a state of calmness. My mine and body is refreshed mentaly, physically and soulfully. I want to name my seven children after this devine pool. Juniper Swim & Fitness Center is a true work of the gods, and a blessing to have it here. This pool must be holy water, because after I swam here, I won the lottery and met Beyoncé. My sixth kid wants to be a yoga instructor, like my wishes were, finally after they swam here. My dog got cured of cancer and five other deaseses after he drank this blessed water. I love you juniper. My seven kids are named Juniper Swim and Fittness center. Bless this pool.

Paid over $300 for my family to have swim passes to find out we can't even swim in the middle of the day we can't swim in the heat we are only allowed to swim in the very very early morning or at night time when my children should be sleeping... Wish I could get my money back but I can't so I guess I'm screwed!

Janet Gettling

I've been going to Juniper on and off for a large part of my life and have never had a bad experience. They have three swimming pools - an indoor children's pool, a normal indoor pool, and an outdoor pool. The outdoor one is covered in the winter and open in the summer, so it's usable all year round. I use the weight room quite often. There are plenty of machines for working various parts of the body, as well as a healthy amount of free weights. They have plenty of cardio machines and I've only ever had to wait for one at peak hours (and then the wait was only a few minutes). My only real complaints are the low number of barbell stations (only one traditional station and a smith machine) and that they don't have the specially shaped weights for dead lifts and power cleans. However, they do have a rack of smaller fixed-weight barbells, so it isn't too much of an issue. While they don't have the number or variety of weight machines as somewhere like Gold's Gym, I've never felt like I couldn't work a muscle group because they didn't have what I needed. They have a large variety of exercise classes as well, but I can't comment on them because I haven't used them. The pools, steam room, and sauna are also a big plus.

The only thing I'm not so happy about Is That they won't let my brother go off the side of the low dive because of his fear.

Pool area is way too loud during swim lessons. Kids can't hear instructors because water aerobics has their music blasting and instuctor on a loud mic. It's overwhelming.

If you wanna play tennis and swim or take small group classes this place is great. . If you want to lift weights and do functional fitness then I'd look elsewhere. . The workout room is tiny compared to this place. . This place is huge, sprawls over a big lot. . But the workout room is like 20x35 or something?!?! It's ridiculous. . Also be prepared to wait for treadmills, elipticals. . They have a sign up sheet. . I don't get. . You pull up to this place and you think it's gonna be great but the free weights and weight room leaves alot to be desired. . And the price? . . I don't understand what people are paying for here.

Kim Oblak

Great yoga with Barb. Great place!!

We were logging in to to swimming and we were told to wait outside! Yet others were able to go in and change. Tell me where this is fair!!? My kids are sensitive to being in the sun. We even asked to wait at a table. Kinda rude if you ask me

After suffering a stroke, I called for 7 weeks trying to talk to someone regarding hydro therapy to get well. I had a 60 minute appointment to try out the water and it cost me $75.00. I went home thinking My classes were on tuesdays only to return to the lady now on vacation and not so much as an explanation or a call....nothing. i feel I could have gone to a river or lake with my grown sons and gotten a much better time AND had that $75.00 still in my bank account! I feel my money was stolen from me. I will never waste my time there again. Overall, the whole experience was pretty poor, from the first voicemail I left, up to walking out the front door, after getting zero answers as to when was it mentioned that I was paying a lady $75.00 to dip out and go on a vacation just days after telling me how great all the therapy was going to be...Didn't appreciate that. And $66.00 a week for water therapy???? I can't really do that while literally disabled...... I just wanted to try hard to get better and not become a leech on society, and I am doing that, without this fitness center and their exhuberant prices. Nature gives you lots of therapy when you treat it with respect.

I love the gym and all the classes they offer no one compares but they are really expensive and sooo busy all the time so parking is hard sometimes. Also wish they had more classes to offer on the weekend and opened at 5am it's hard to get to the gym and get a good workout in before work during the weekdays. Great staff always helpful! ALL the teachers are awesome as well.

We love this aquatic center!! Its great for everyone! I love to bring my 2 year old because it has a splash pad and 2 pools just for her! Theres little slides and tons of life vests and floaties available free of charge! The lifegaurds are so good about making sure that the indoor pool for little ones stays that way by keeping bigger kids out.. Its great because she swims free and its very cheap for me so we can go all the time without breaking the bank! They also offer 2 or 3 bigger pools, diving boards, hot tub, sauna, water slides, lessons, locker room, food and beverages sold... And more! I definitely recommend checking it out!

I used to be a member at the Athletic Club of Bend, but when I starting spending Winters in CA I switched because the Athletic Club was charging me partial dues(1/2) for the months I was in CA. I have no regrets about the move. Yes, it is further from where I live (Westside) in Bend...but otherwise the facility is comparable to me. I love it! When I am in Bend, I go 3 to 4 times a week. Love the diversity of classes and find the instructors, staff and members very nice and friendly. I consider the facility a great asset to Bend. Marilyn McIver

Just joined! They gave me a nice tour and showed me the lay of the land. There is a wide variety of classes to choose from as well as a well equipped gym, pool, etc. Looking forward to becoming a regular.

I would have given them ten stars. Their swimming pools, sauna, steam room, hot tub, chikdrens swim, exercise, swim and fitness instructors, and clean well kept buildings, inside a,d out make this place a gem!!!! I lost 20 pounds in a month. I swam 4 hours and did yoga. At 69.I felt amazing. Thanks to them,my body feels rejuvenated. Love this place. Wish I lived in the Bend area

Incredible facility and friendly staff. Bend parks and rec does a great job — and I can’t recall seeing a public swim facility anywhere in the country that comes close to this one. Great separate swim and play area for the kiddos too. Only improvement that I can think of would be more shaded spots and coverings for those that want to be careful about their sun exposure.

Walter White

Expensive? depends on where you are coming from. Using words like outrageous is a little over dramatic. Crowded? certainly on hot days because the indoor/outdoor pools and kids pools are fantastic. The abundance of classes and equipment is great to have. Its a wonderful place for a family. The water may be a tad warm for hard-core swimmers, but when I was swimming in lots of pools as a hard-core swimmer all I complained about was how cold the water was.

Robin Kiefer

Power to the people.

Jessie Mcpheeters

Pretty disappointed!! First of all I understand rules, also some can be bent. With that said, making four children wait twenty measly mins for rec swim. All because it was family swim. Upon walking outside to wait I notice that over half the parents are Not swimming with their children..it's family swim time your support to swim with your kids! At least that's why they made is wait. I was very recently diagnosed with breast cancer so getting out to do fun things is kinda hard. Today I feel good so I'm spending it with family. This is very frustrating! Was seriously just charged $5 to sit on their precious grass!! Rude!!

Good equipment and facilities on offer for a community pool/gym. Unfortunately the place is overcrowded and it’s really difficult to get what you want consistently. I’ve tried to make it a regular workout place over the years and every time I think I’ve found a good schedule I show up and it’s suddenly an hour wait for whichever thing I’d planned to use either due to new classes or more crowds.

We came here on a Thursday afternoon in early March and my ski team and I and experienced the worst 12 mins of our entire lives. We came in with the expectation that ANY of the facilities might be open. We were wrong. We paid that the front desk and arrived at one of the Olympic sized pools. As we entered, we looked over our right shoulder and gazed our eyes upon 4 elderly women: 2 were paying attention, 1 was bobbing up and down. The last was sitting on a noodle singing California dreamin. The instructor was talking into a microphone to make sure the 4 ladies could hear her. They took up a small amount of the pool and about half of the pool was unoccupied. Therefore, one of our friends thought it would bok to jump in the pool. However, this resulted in the instructor coming over and patrionizing our entire team. We are educated and polite gentleman and she kicked us out of the pool like degenerates. This wasn't the last thing to go wrong. After the receptionist failed to mention that every room/ pool was taken due to some sort of class, we entered the men's locker room. Then, as the wall of steam cleared, our eyes were flame broiled by the sight upons us. We found ourselves 360 degrees surrounded by shrivled old man berries and twigs. While trying to escape this view we tried to hide in a stall however the first stall we entered was over flowing with a taco bell and corn eating poop molten river. Feeling a plethera of confused and slightly unsettling emotions we stumbled out of the establishment shaken. Towels were fresh, would come back for that

Expensive? Rude staff? Too many children in the weight room? Not at all in my experience, I am a senior and it runs me about $1/day, everyone is friendly (might say something about the reviewer), I have no issues with access to weights, etc, but I go in about 7:45AM. A well run, clean, and affordable facility.

My husband and I spent the month of September 2018 in Bend. As a regular at my YMCA in Tennessee, I needed a place to work out during the month. I particularly enjoy fitness classes, and the variety at Juniper is phenomenal. The facilities, equipment, and group exercise instructors are all excellent.

Justin

They decided it was best to put so many kid classes in there you cant get a lap lane to swim in anymore, not to mention they put such a high amount of chlorine in the pool it dries out your skin extremely bad and i was literally swimming with some little kids (or parents) terd right next to me. The value has be lost in the place. Not worth it.

Austin Evans

Nice facilities friendly staff

I've been swimming here for two months since I moved to town and everyone that works here is super friendly and very professional. For a public pool run by the city, it is remarkably clean and well designed. Here is the problem. The lifeguards keep taking up the lanes too early!!! it's so frustrating. If the indoor pool has lap swim until 7:30am, they are removing the lanes at 7:20am, which means I cannot complete my swim. Same thing happened today. The schedule says indoor lamp swim until 1pm. At 12:50, ten minutes early, the lifeguards took up the lanes...so what is the purpose of having a schedule if everyone is not going to abide by it? the moment the lanes are removed, I start to run into the lane dividers and then other people waiting to start for their class start keep running into me. Let's all abide by the rules, ok? if this keeps happening, i'll just join another pool.

Yah AMAZING PLACE I LOVE IT BEND OR

Scott Wilcox

I nice pool but too small of a facility considering how big Bend has become. It's a battle swimming in the morning with competition for lanes. They could easily double the size. Past that it's a pretty good spot.

Juniper is an incredible workout/swim facility. They have worked extremely hard to improve the member experiences. Solid, solid place for a workout and swim of course. If your here when the outdoor 50 meter pool cover is off, you'll feel like your swimming in a forest of juniper trees. Wait, you will be!

Mari Thompson

This is a great FAMILY center (emphasis on family). I'm a senior citizen & handicapped, so now that school is out & the center is focusing on families/children more, there are very few times someone like me can use the indoor pool for doing the independent water exercised my physical therapist wants me to do: M-F from 5:15-6am only, a few times on Saturdays & Sunday. I was going 3 times a week on Sundays between 10:30am-1p & M-F between 1-4p...unfortunate & I'm now checking out other centers here in Bend with senior times. I'll be back at Juniper when school starts in September & times are more prevalent. :(

Adam Klein

Great facility but don't join for the weight room, it's tiny.

T Bone Snugglepuss

Best place I've ever worked at. The staff is amazing and welcoming, and the supervisors went above and beyond to help wherever they could.

Overpriced and won't let you watch your kids without paying. Used to be for kids and fun. Now for profit. Watch out for sue. Not a customer service type of person.

We had a birthday party for my 6 yr old grandson. The room was great, the pools were fun.

Best value in town and best teachers. They also have great gear, it's clean, it's a flexible place to drop in and out of, and its great for kids! I am so grateful for this place.

Kate White

I just joined the club a week ago and I love it. It's an excellent value. I think that the ski team reviewer who was so horrified at having to look at old people needs to know that if he is lucky, he too will become an old person whether he likes it or not. Bravo for the ladies in the pool.

Mrs. Sanchez

after walking in the other evening with my husband we got out or cash to pay the entrance fee at the front desk like the time before and upon handing or cash to the front desk help we were greeted by "How old are you guys?" I didn't know in order to enter Juniper pool you had to be a certain age and your age was checked at the front door? As far as i'm concerned there's no reason they need to know are age to swim in a pool we are paying to enter into?! After replying "We are married!" I got asked again how old we are.... I replied once again "we are married!!" then front desk help replied by saying "oh.." This was absolutely ridiculous and very discriminating!! Might as well ask me my age, gender and race as I walked in the door as well! I'm not sure if we'll be returning to this pool because there's absolutely NO reason we should be questioned like that as entering the building! As far as I'm concerned I'm paying to enter your establishment it shouldn't matter age, marital status or race or anything for that matter, in order to enter a COMMUNITY pool...!!!!!!!!!

Susan Miller

Sheila Bleck

Megan Oxford-White

This place is actually a total rip-off! The pool is usually too crowded and the hours stink. The lifeguards do not tell the kids that are misbehaving to stop. And the front desk people are typically not polite. The only discounts they give are to the people in the community who don't work. So you either have to be rich to participate in anything or one of the people who don't work and don't contribute anything to the economy. So any middle class person isn't welcome.

Jacob Swinn
