This gym is pretty simple. Tons of work out machines, 3 tanning booths, and a couple hydro massage chairs. There are classes but they don't provide a print out in the store of the schedule so I just haven't known when they are and never remember to go online to look. The introduction was pretty interesting and could be cool for someone that doesn't understand their body's needs. They showed me a couple handy stretches. Customer service is good, but not like, outstanding or even great. This gym would probably do so much better if they did a little more connecting with their customers. Call us to remind us that we haven't been to the gym in 3 weeks. Ask if we are meeting our fitness goals when we come in. The dressing room and bathrooms are really clean and useful. I appreciate that. For the price, it is decent. No pool. No poles. Those things would make it the ultimately awesome gym to go to.

I typically don't write reviews but when I get charged double there's a problem. Terrible customer service and management doesn't care about customers who are overcharged. I was charged total of $131.90 Which was double my amount I pretty much got charged two times, which they didn't want to refund me my money and pretty much laughed at me when the kid said you got charged twice, and only got an email confirmation of $5 to be refunded. No I need a total of $70.95 For being overcharged on my bank account....

They just want your money and certainly be careful they will charge you an annual fee without a warning and of course they will throw that at your face and tell you that it is on the contract, which is not true about month to month. You will still get charged monthly even if you are not using your membership without prior notice and if you don't change the account information the debit card transaction they will take the fee. On top of the lousy customer service they have a temporarily out of order signs posted on equipment for more than two weeks and there are specific times it is over crowded which makes it impossible to work out with encouragement knowing it was overcrowded.

The service is terrible. The first day it opened I asked if they could get book holders so I could read as I worked out. I was told I would be contacted with an answer in three days. A month later I am still waiting. I have been in several times and told that no one knows if or when they will be available and that not even employees have access to someone with more information.

This place is literally a 7 min drive from my house. Perfect location! Glad they opened one up close by! I mostly lift weights at any gym so this review reflects the free weights and machines, not the other amenities (ie. hydro massage, tanning, showers, classes). Occasionally I'll warm up on a treadmill to get my heart racing. I've only been going to this gym for a week now and compared to my last gym (very small/overpriced) it's good so far. My last gym had all Hoist and Technogym equipment which is one of the best equipment in the industry featuring body tilting motion to get the most out of each rep and to reduce injuries. I have noticed they also have Hoist machines but most are Nautilus and Star Trac. I'm usually there between 4pm and 5pm which is the start of the busy time but I didn't have trouble getting on a machine that I could use for a specific muscle group I wanted to work out. By the time I leave though it's pretty packed so we'll see how the rest of the year ebb and flow goes. The front staff is wonderful and I haven't had any issues with customer service or friendliness of the staff. The lockers in the locker rooms are plenty big, big enough to hold my small duffel bag. Can't comment on the showers as I will most likely never use them. I will update this review in the future if anything changes. Update: I no longer go to this gym as I have moved to Forest Grove but before I left I started going there between 10:30am and Noon, Monday through Friday. Much better environment if you ask me, meaning more available equipment. I now only workout during my lunch period because of it. I'm keeping the place at a 5 stars!

CRUNCH KICKED ME OUT OVER A COOKIE I have been going to this crunch location for about a year now, and as a person who specifically uses weight lifting platforms, this is the best bang for your buck gym in the Portland area. If I didn't love the gym and the atmosphere in the gym, it would have been one star. My rating can be explained through an experience I had with the owner and upper staff of the gym. I work out late, and later at night there arent many people at Crunch. The staff member working the front desk was kind enough to let us have some complete cookies that were for sale in the front desk. One normal afternoon, I punched in for my regular workout, and a staff member along with the owner said they wanted to speak to me. They told me that they were ending my membership because I took cookies from the front desk, and I had to pay for them, or else they would be forced to contact the authorities. I understand that, because I took a cookie, they are within their legal boundaries to end my membership. HOWEVER, any company that cares for their customers would never be as petty as this. They only care for your money, and if you do anything to take from their income, even if it is allowed by a staff member, then they will drop you in a heartbeat. They didn't just lose me as a customer. They lost myself, and the majority of my friends who worked out with me. If you do go to crunch, then work out and leave. Do anything to make the gym feel like a home, and they will be quick to remind you that they are NOT a caring family business.

Well maintained with plenty of equipment. I'm glad this club moved into the neighborhood. I'm very pleased with how clean its kept. I was a former Planet Fitness member but much prefer this gym for all the equipment, classes, atmosphere and location in proximity to me. The reason I've given it four stars instead of five are several. The tanning booths are tiny. If you're claustrophobic, forget using them as they are about the size of a coat closet. The other big issue for me, showering after my workout. The shower handles do not stay stable to hold your set water temperature. They drift on their own and something must be wrong with the valves internally to allow for this. Also the water temperature at times is way too cold and never warms up. I'm not sure if the water heater is undersized to handle peak use our what's going on but it needs to be fixed. It really seems to be hit and miss on how warm or cold the water is going to be. That really is the biggest drawback and only complaint other than the tanning both size I can point out.

I'd like to share this in hopes I save someone who is just getting started from being completely discouraged. Please attend classes by anyone but Mary. She targets her class toward the already fit, does not count accurately or on a beat (very challenging for us coordination impaired and newbies to movement) and frequently threatens the whole class if anyone "quits" early, never mind if you're shaking and near vomiting. She doesn't encourage attendees to use proper form, rather demonstrates once with not the best form herself then travels the room. I feel it best to learn proper form rather than keep up to an uneven beat count. We often ended up doing more reps on one side than the other. Again for someone who is used to these sorts of coordinated movements may be able to keep track themselves but I feel as though these classes need a leader not just someone giving a single example then barely keeping count. There were a few nice comments but most come across as threats not at all encouraging. I wanted to give her another shot but I regret it, because maybe I could have walked away feeling proud of giving it my best but instead am leaving frustrated and wishing I'd spent my 25 minutes better (because class started late and ended early due to next class already busting through the door). Overall decent gym for what you pay for but other instructors such as Jessica are giving constant feedback to the entire group and leading from the front and leading by actually doing the exercises with you. I feel that level of camaraderie is so important especially in the most difficult moments of an exercise. Seeing the leader try just as hard as you are. I just don't get that from Mary at all, I can only compare her to Jessica but those are my thoughts.

I wanted to downgrade memberships because I don't use tanning or the massage chair, I was still going to keep a $19.99 instead of $29.95 ... unfortunately there was a $40 downgrade fee so I cancelled my membership ... I live across the street and would have stayed long term and didn't have to pay enrollment fee origionally so loss for you guys

Please read one and two star reviews! Also, look over the terms & conditions/contract before signing up. If you haven't noticed, they do not release how long the contract is valid for! When is the last time you signed a contract without an end date?? I have signed up for month to month, knowing its 5 dollars more I hopefully wont have to deal with cooperate contract headache when I decide to cancel RELATED to the one and two star reviews would be their customer service. I don't believe they have proper management which might keep them from actually having to deal with any direct conflict. Everyone who has addressed an issue, they are informed to "write a letter" or "send an email" I'm going to be working out here for the equipment not to personally evaluate minimum wage employment.

The gym did NOT open today at 7 am and the staff was rude to me when asked about it. The gym opened at 7:40 am instead of 7, making a whole line of people wait there for nothing, and that is SECOND time in just 3 months (and not even the only 2 times, according to google reviews). The staff was extremely defensive and plain rude saying things like "there is nothing I can do about it, it just happened!", "you are not listening, and actually I am busy with something here", "what do you want me to say, I don't know". When asked "do you think this is how businesses are supposed to work?", aggressively answered "this is not my business!" which a) does not matter if you're hired there b) irrelevant c) rude and showing attitude. Finally, she shrugged, rolled eyes said "whatever" and turned away, doing something on her computer. "Whatever"? This is how you treat customers when YOU are late for work?.. I am lost here, I thought we live in the times when dealing with customers in a polite manner is a must? I do not think this is how staff anywhere should deal with mistakes. What I expected was an apology, an explanation and a pro-active approach, and what I got was defensive, offensive, rude attitude and unacceptable language which only escalated the conflict. I request that CRUNCH train the staff and addresses this issue. This is unacceptable. If it was her personal mistake, she needs to learn how to accept it and apologize properly. If this is your scheduling issue, you need to hire enough people and focus on scheduling procedures to make opening hours reliable, as they should be by default.

Four weeks ago I realized I was being overcharged for my membership (it took me a few months to notice it). I called and spoke with a nice gentleman who told me he fixed my price and I’d be refunded for the overcharge. A week later, I was charged the overcharged price and still no refund. I called again, spoke to a woman who said the lady who does refunds was out sick and I’d see the refund by the end of the week. She also reassured me that the next month would be the correct price. I’ve called several times over the last two weeks to be told that my refund is processing and a manager isn’t available. I went into the gym tonight to cancel, i was informed that because I’m canceling my account that I wouldn’t get my refund from the overcharge and that I’m still going to be billed for next month because I’m within 10 days of the billing cycle, and surprise, surprise, it’s set up for the incorrect price. I asked again to speak to a manager and there wasn’t one available. This is the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I would not recommend doing business with them.

I canceled my membership last year in 2017 and was still being charged. They said I wasn’t and provided bank statements. This was going on for months into 2018. Check you statements to make sure your not overcharged or still being changed once you’re gone in and signed your cancellation. I’ve tried to reach upper management and they don’t exist I guess to make the charges stop. I’ve been emailing Isaac for 4 months now and still no refund.

I've been out of high school for a long time now, even then I didn't care for the so called " In Crowd " I won't get into detail because I don't want to write a book here, but coming from someone who has worked directly with people most of my life. I have never experienced the absolute disrespect this place treated me with. Thank God for reviews I feel better now. I am not a member now and I don't recommend them. I started their 9.95 subscription in 2016 and cancelled it a few months later. At no point was I told I can't cancel, that it wouldn't be cancelled until a year later. Apparently new members on the 9.95 membership can't cancel in the first year, so you pay 160$ no matter what... "subscription" hah, shame on me for not reading the contract and believing what the salesperson says.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. I had fraud on my account and my card was cancelled and I didn't notice that my billing for the gym had stopped. Crunch kept billing my account for months I WASN'T even using. Also, if you don't cancel. They will just keep billing your account and they told me that they will send me to collections after 120 days. Bad business. I even offered to pay half of my balance and they only agreed to waive the $10 late fee. Baloney. Bad business.

Walking distance from home makes it much easier for me to stick to 4 to 5 days a week. I have a bit of a love/ strong dislike of some things here,which can change simply based on what time I arrive. There are times I can walk in,breeze through that day's routine without delay,and be on my way. There are some "regulars" that I've actually noticed and picked up some good exercises for my routines. The cleaning staff is very thorough and the hydro massage chairs/table are a wonderful perk. There are also times that I feel like I've been time warped back to high school. There are far too many people that treat equiptment as a couch to sit and surf their phones. Staff should make an effort to walk around more and nicely remind people if it's busy that someone could be waiting for the equiptment. There are also a few "everyday is arm day" guys that clearly love to strut around trying to be noticed. That gives my eyes a workout because it certainly makes me roll them a lot. As for staff,the desk isn't very friendly. The greeting and goodbyes fell off a few months in.Not looking for friendships,so whatever, I guess. As stated earlier they should be checking the floor more and standing still less. This Sunday the gym was down to 2 paper towel dispensers that had towels. Rediculous to let supplies run out. My last frustration is that this facility does not seem to prioritize fixing broken equipment. 5 days is pretty common to see things with signs. The pros of a close, clean gym that gives me the workouts I need outweigh the cons. I just make sure I go off peak wherever possible.

I am starting to warm up to this gym after what I consider a rough opening. It's still far from ideal, but has its perks. The gym itself kind of looks like what Carl's Jr would look like if they decided to be a gym. The Crunch Logo is emblazoned in hot colors in far too many places, reminding me of 90s advertising. My biggest complaint is that the music here is too loud. This place has all the acoustic appeal of an aluminum airplane hanger. Probably an excellent venue for a haunting flute solo, but the pop music blaring out of the speakers so loud I can barley hear my headphone unless they are at dangerous volumes; it sounds like a mess. I mean really? Who goes to the gym and thinks. ~wow, I'm so glad they had Lady Gaga On Blast while I was doing my curls!?~ Many of the grips on the equipment are made out of a slippery plastic matte, that I find ponderously ungrippy. Very bad for the assisted pull-up machine. They have these completely obnoxious safety devices on their cable machines that block the final lowest notch. This makes it so you can't ever have the pulleys fully lowered. For a tall guy like me, with a giant reach, this is frustrating, because I can not fully extend without running out of tension. Signs in the locker room say no cell phone use. I find this an unwelcome rule as I often like to check my messages and stuff in the locker room when I'm done. Maybe I'll one day get kicked out for this. The tanning booths are claustrophobic, and one must stand up in them. Which is really not what I'm used to, nor is it relaxing. The fans are so loud that I have a difficult time listening to my audiobooks while I tan, even with my headphones on. They only allow you to tan for 10 minutes. I was up to 11 minutes at my old gym, so I find this regulation pretty obnoxious. Trying to change inside the porto-poty sized changing room attached to the tanning booth is a joke for a giant like me. Crunch Aloha does possess a couple good traits however. There is great spacing between machines and plenty of room to walk around or have your own space for stretching or whatever. There is also a large open room where they instruct classes that is usually empty. So it's a good place to stretch or get away from the music. Crunch features a large variety of machines, with duplicates of many machines that I find tend to get crowded. Unfortunately, some of these machines do not adjust well to people with great height or reach like myself. The weight switching system on the equipment is flip based and pretty cool, but it can still be a little tough to figure out what switch applies to which weight. The locker rooms are very spacious and so are the lockers! I don't think they rent out lockers which is a shame. I love having a permanent locker at a gym, and they seem to have more than enough for such a service. The showers are great, with good water pressure and nice soap. Unfortunately there is no towel service.

Great gym so far. I love that all the equipment is new and the place is clean. All of the equipment is all in one large studio rather than separate or sectioned. This can make it feel a little overwhelming when you first walk in. I'd prefer everything in separate sections, but that's just me. Or even if they had cardio on the left and weight machines on the right instead of weight machines in front and cardio in the back. This way I wouldn't feel like everyone is watching me when I lift weights. Also, im not sure if I like the fact that there are windows instead of a wall between the main part of the gym and the studio for classes. I guess I don't like the place so OPEN. I'm sure others love it, but it's less comfortable for me. Anyway, besides that everything is wonderful. I'm definitely not complaining. The gym is great how it is. I just thought I'd add some constructive criticism.

I workout here for a while, but some of the coaches are very rude. I had many incidences that they walk in front of you but don't even hold the door or be a polite human being to say hi. I usually am a positive person and have never seen this kind of attitude in a gym. Today this trainer name Stevie made me to write this review. I was working out in the functional training machine where you need both sides to workout. While I was taking a breath and having a sip of water, Stevie just walked in with a lady she was training, without asking for permission or at least ask if she can use one arm of my machine for training,( I am polite enough to say ok) she just grabbed my side handle bar and started telling to this lady to use it! (Really disrespectful) I looked at her and tried to tell her I was using it, but she started acting as this is her space, without any consideration. I was waiting for an apology or at least an excuse, but nothing! Really upsetting. I asked to talk to a manager, no one wants to give info. Just the front guy took my number and acted as he will give it to his manager, no calls. I doubt it if anyone would call me. Just decided to write this review, since I feel upset and disrespected. Even if a gym gets busy (it was pretty empty at my time) people have this comfort zone and a person with integrity would ask for permission.

Considering the very low price of membership this gym has everything you need. Plus at this location the machines are all new, rarely anything is broken and the staff is very nice!
