The gym has convenient parking. The place is kept clean. Some equipment could do with replacement as normal wear and tear happens. I lack the discipline to go regularly, but have been going on and off for years. Not much has changed in that time. The staff has always been friendly.

Tried World Gym for the first time today. Want a sick burn? Get it here bro. Like mirrors? Look ANY direction. Couldnt miss my post-set swoleness even if I tried to! Lots of nice cardio equipment if you're into that. Thing is, when you're doing cardio (or legs for that matter) you're not doing chest, but I digress. Anyway, its a nice, clean, and spacious place with lots of nice equipment.

I was gonna get a membership here until I saw that they charge a $50 “enrollment fee” on top of the $40 membership fee. I don’t have money to give away and on top of that I start reading reviews where people actually caught stds from the equipment there that’s just crazy.

Went in and asked if i could just do a quick walk threw. I was told no then asked if i had a few minutes to sit down. I don't want to here your speech until I'm ready and feel like this is where i want to be. How about take care of what i want and not be so greedy for a sale. Your loss.

I have been a member here since 2013. When I brought a good family friend to check out the place to see if it was the right fit (He recently bought a house just down the street), we were left waiting while someone was on the phone for 15 min. My buddy has a health issue which makes him have to use the restroom fairly often. While still waiting for the counter woman to get off the phone, he went to go try and use the restroom. When he was just about to enter, he was accosted by a male trainer who blocked his path and asked "what he thought he was doing". My buddy said he was just trying to use the restroom. He was told that was members only. At that point, feeling embarrassed and disgusted, we promptly left. I am cancelling my membership today. I will never refer another person to Golds Gym ever again. Will not be embarrassed again.

When I first signed up here I thought it was the greatest place in the world. Shortly after I signed up my girlfriend did as well and decided to do the contract. Big mistake. She opted for automatic withdraw and it was fine at first, but then out of nowhere they had stopped charging her account and we went to work out and they wouldn't let her go in. They said she did not pay. After explaining that its supposed to be automatic withdraw, they claimed to have fixed the issue and we payed what was owed and went on with it. Not long after that same thing happens again. They quit charging her account. She later got busy with school and didn't have time to worry about the gym, then another couple months go by and magically, there they are charging her account. Have tried to fight this and its done no good. They continue to charge the account. They have zero clue what is going on as far as peoples accounts go and this isn't the first I've heard of this. Do not sign up under contract with this gym. You will get screwed somehow, someway.

I bought a 3 month trial from Groupon for winter and was not disappointed. Male staff is very friendly and welcoming. I've gone to various gyms over the years (24 hour fitness, LA fitness, Crunch, Snap and planet fitness) I think the thing I enjoy the most about this gym, everyone focuses on their workouts. Mostly, no staring, no social conversations that last hours, no dressed up individuals (that seems kind of judgy, but when you're female and lifting weights sometimes you get attention and appreciating someone for going for it is one thing but staring without shame is another). People I see at Golds go there to get their workout in and leave. Friendliness- 9/10 Female staff seems a little off putting. Cleanliness- 10/10- there is a lady walking around cleaning at about noon everyday. Facility layout 10/10- its efficient and their is plenty of space left for use of extra things like bands, medicine balls and stretching without having to move things out of your way. Machines quantity- 10/10- ive never had to wait to use anything EVER. Product availability- 10/10- they have recovery things, preworkout, protein drinks, water, gaterade and protein bars available. Hope this helps you on your quest to find the gym for you.

3rd time in 3 months the staff hasn't shown up to unlock the door at 5am. I waited until 5:30am for the staff to show up when I finally gave up and left. There was a parking lot full of cars waiting to get in and I bet they are all feeling the way I am. Please just unlock the door at 5am so we can scan ourselves in, or hire staff that shows up so us early gym-goers don't waste our time. Edit: 2 weeks later, it happened again...staff didn't show up to unlock the door. Had to go to ghe Cuyahoga Falls location to get my training done before work...

I only have 2 criticisms. 1: for some reason it feels hotter in the building then it use to (which might totally be in my head so that may be invalid) 2: when world gym bought this they took out 2 or 3 stationary stations. So now when you need to wipe down the machine you have go past a few people. Every....time.... besides that I like going here for the most part.

Great staff, good location, horrible blood sucking corporate. If it wasn't for corporate I would still go here. I had a monthly "no contract" plan. My credit card number got changed, rather than call me and fix it, these people send a threatening letter and send a bill to collections. For under 50 dollars of things never used. If they would have asked me, instead of their awful customer 'service' I would still be paying them money every month, I will never use Gold Scam Services again.

It is a very nice place to go! This was the first Gym I have ever gotten a membership. Being in the IT industry, and never been to a gym I was very nervous at first. A friend convinced me to join him and I am glad I did! The staff are very friendly and the equipment fits my needs. I definitely recommend this Gym for anyone that is in the area!

New management is atrocious. I have reached out to their manager Rick multiple times about an additional 230 dollar charge I was told I would not receive. I was told I'd get 2 free training sessions as compensation, never got it and Rick dropped off the radar. At this point I may as well filing a report to the BBB, cause I don't know how to get them to listen. The day to day staff and trainers get a 5 star review. They are great, and for the last few months they are the only reason I've stayed a member.

Sigh it's hard to find a good gym these days. This location is much smaller then other gyms around akron. I went their to check it out cause i've never been inside a Gold's Gym before but i was severely disappointed. Whether it was the lack of respect or the way they treat new customers I'd think they are trying to go out of business. The staff would not let me go inside to take a look. Manager was very pissed off about me walking inside without jumping through their corporate sales pitches and hoops. They get way too personal upon signing up asking you too many personal information. I feel bad for all the people they disrespected previously b/c i seriously enjoy fitness and the staff here seems to not understand what fitness is about, it's about the community and what they can offer and bring to the table as a whole, but all these guys care about is money. Go check out their Yelp reviews 2.5 stars it's very low, due to many unhappy customers. I quote this from another Yelp review i read "This place is money hungry. I do not trust a place that isn't honest with new members wanting to sign up. The contracts are ridiculous and extremely difficult to get off once on." Many other reviews stating the same thing how they are super money hungry without class.

Love everything about it. People who workout there are friendly, staff is very friendly and personal. They make you feel like you're part of the family right away. The supplements are there for purchase, great weight options. Absolutely everything you'd look for in a fitness center. 10/10 would recommend to absolutely anyone.

My contract agreement is to be charged every other week. I have repeatedly been charged every Friday. I spoke to manager and he promised me it would not happen again. I was charged again on consecutive Fridays. This over charge disrupted my budget and the corporate was rude and did not acknowledge my complaint. They lied and said I would not be charge. They refused to refund the overcharges. I now have been left to cancel my membership. I am looking for a gym that is not a rip off scam as I need a reputable gym to improve my health.
