DO NOT deal with this company. I have been trying to cancel my membership for over a year. I did everything I was told to do before the ownership change and now they are saying they have no records of me trying to cancel the account. On top of that they are expecting me to pay over one hundred dollars because they do not have any information about the cancellation. After arguing with the rep on the phone because he was smart and very rude, I asked to speak to someone. I was transferred to a voice mail and asked to be called back. Instead of getting a call back, I got an automated recording telling me my account was past due and I needed to go online and update my account. This has been a frustrating experience and has left a bad taste in my mouth as far as Life Time Fitness goes. You can best believe I will not be recommending this club for anything.

I have been going to this gym since 2009. Great people, good equipment, friendly staff and a nice range of classes. There is a basketball court, sauna, hot tub, pool, yoga studio, cycle studio, and fitness studio. The price is about 44/month per person. I was lucky enough to set up a network and everyone on it pays 20 a month.

I would love to leave less than 1 star, to be honest. I've been a member for a couple years now.. I've dealt with the dirty locker room, broken equipment, and even the weeks without air conditioning in the hottest part of the summer because it's closer to my house... But NO more. I've stopped my membership this week. I signed up for PT and a Burn class in June. They charged my credit card twice- two different cards. It is now the end of October and I'm STILL trying to get my money refunded.. Seriously. I've talked to several people several times. The customer service here is ABHORRENT. They each have no idea what the other person is doing. Supposedly it's been refunded as of Tuesday.. It's still not showing up in my account.. We will see. They will never get another dime from me. Please beware when deciding to trust these people with your credit card number.

Lately, there have been issues. Early morning there are no towels (have to ask staff) in the men's locker room, showers have been out of order periodically. Notice some equipment needing repairs. This isn't a good sign or indicator this place is interested in their clients. If this doesn't improve within the next 2-4 weeks, I am canceling my membership. Early morning trainers aren't friendly, if i were considering them, I wouldn't because they do not appear approachable by my observation.

I've been to a few gyms, and some really good ones. This isn't one of them. Lots of equipment, and lots of broken equipment. I can deal with that. Usually out of towels, I can deal with that. Probably one of the dirtiest gyms I've see, mostly due to customers. Constantly tripping over gym bags, no reason with the amount of lockers available. 4 pieces of equipment in use by 1 person, forget working in. Clean up a puddle of sweat, nope. Put weights back, nope. There are a disproportionate number of crass, obnoxious, socially stunted people here, which really makes the place not recommended.

Been going here for past few years. Normally I would say that I only have a Few complaints with an over all enjoyable experience. But, unfortunately that's not the case here. Originally was going to give 4 stars but as I typed more I realized I've made these complaints to their team several times and not 1 has been fixed in 2 years. Maybe 1 machine has been upholstered. The 1 water fountain is a huge bother. It doesn't even have the top flow to fill up water bottles without tipping them on their side and having some random persons powder on the fountain. And the push button on the front sticks wasting water. Half the heart rate monitors on the cardio equipment don't work. With loose or broken parts. How about a treadmill that won't raise or lower, or has a weak motor so you can't use it but it has no sign. 3 years ago there were over 5 rope attachments for the cable machines, now they are down to 2. The handles on every Lat pull down bar are broken and have been that way for years. The grips on half the machines are ripped, torn, split, twisted or missing. Most of the free weights are loose from being dropped. The curtains in the showers are horrible. And are incorrect design. There are about 100 lockers in each room.....75 will still be locked at 5 am the next day when no one else has used these "single use lockers". Which tells me management never checks these lockers every night like several signs say. Went to the "better" lifetime gym in Raleigh with a friend last week....now I see that this one is low class and making me reconsider the price for my membership, especially since it's not 24/7 like every other gym within a 300 mile radius and is still double the cost. Sure the Jacuzzi is nice but it's over loaded with chemicals and just warm. The pool is nice but only in the morning, the evening it don't seem to be as clean. The locker room is nice IF you can find a locker and don't mind sharing a bench with 3 or 4 other people because they only have 4 tiny benches to share. If I could give 1 employee 5 out of 5 stars it would be the janitor I see every morning. He vacuums the entire facility, washes and restocks the towels, and mops every tiled surface EVERY morning...

I have been a member here for 7 months. During my tour the gym was relatively clean (nothing special but not filthy). Since then, I have been disgusted by the quality of service and cleanliness at the gym. In my first visit to the sauna, there was a black substance covering the all of the floors and on the walls. After some quick research it turns out that mold, mildew, and various bacteria such as staph, MRSA, and athletes foot grow rapidly in UNCLEANED saunas. I logged my complaint with the staff and figured the health issue would be resolved. Unfortunately it has been months and there is still what I assume to be black mold in the sauna. Disgusting.

The communication between management and staff is awful. There needs to be a customer training program. I enjoyed the gym but the customer service or the lack there of that i received from staff was not customer friendly or organized. I have worked in leadership at my company for 6 years and never have I come across such dissatisfaction. For the past four months I have been going back and forth with the gym about an error they made in house but still being charged. When I contacted the gym I was always told someone was going to contact me back and never did. So then Patrick from corporate contacts me and he is anything less than helpful becasue all he kept saying is we need a payment, once i explained to him the situation he was willing to waive half of the balance as long as I DID NOT CANCEL. So that conversation went nowhere so i decided to contact the gym again. When I finally got someone on the phone they told me what I needed to hear and still four months later the issue was not resolved. Monday 9/18 Mikel told me that he would place my account on hold and refund the balance and of course I received a call today saying otherwise. This company has made me feel more like a problem than a paying customer although I am just paying $20 a month I deserve to be treated with respect as if I am a VIP customer because word of mouth is a dangerous thing when it comes to a business that feeds off of membership. But I will be taking my business elsewhere. I'm sure nothing will be done about this but I will relay the message to my friends about how I was treated and I would not advise then to go that gym.

LTF Six Forks has been in decline for sometime now. Not surprised it is closing. HOWEVER, it is near my home. The spin classes especially TimK's and AmyB's are great. I hope Lifetime will look at locations close by in the Six Fork / Wake Forest / Atlantic area for a new site. They could build a super gym in this growing area.

I have a Platinum membership, so go to Cary a lot but Six Forks is in a convenient location a lot of times for me. Due to the location, I would think it would upgrade their equipment. At the very least upgrade the TV's! There are only about 10 or so and they are all on the same 2 channels. I'm not there to watch, but would like to stare at something interesting during my rest periods :) Overall, I will keep going there just wish a few things were upgraded. I understand it is very inexpensive if you only belong to that location, but again, due to location they could increase their price. If people want to be cheap to belong to a gym there are multiple other options around that are $20 a month or less within a few miles of this gym.

Pictures are misleading. This is probably the crappiest gym I've been a member of (probably 8-10 in my life), but it serves its purpose. Cheap membership, limited CHILDCARE, machines, weights, classes, ample close parking, friendly staff, locker room area with showers (wear shower shoes!!!), indoor pool (which I've never used, but it doesn't look inviting) and finally convenience (roughly 5-6 minute drive from home). I've been a member of two platinum clubs in the DC area, so had no clue what a bronze club was like. Although I would LOVE to be a member of a platinum club like Raleigh or Cary, I have little/tiny ones and the idea of driving 20-25 minutes then finding parking is NOT worth the trouble. So, until my kids are school aged, this gym works for me!

Listen, this play is pretty inexpensive as far as good gyms go. They have ample cardio equipment and machines. I never find myself waiting on the important things like the bench because they have 5 between incline/decline/flat bench. I also like to do a little yoga which is included in the membership. If you're on the fence because of the reviews actually read them. Who the hell complains about TVs at the damn gym? I didn't even notice the AC being out. Why? Because I came to the damn gym to sweat. GTFO. The pictures do look like they came from multiple locations though.

I like Life Time Fitness. We'll see how much I still like them if I ever try to cancel my contract (see other reviews), but the staff is nothing but friendly every time I'm there. I go several times a week, early in the morning, and I never have to wait for equipment or space. The place is huge and clean, and if a machine is broken, it's always fixed before I get back in the gym again. Most of the people that work out here are just normal, regular people, and they're all pretty easy going, too. I'm not the fittest looking person on the block, but no one's ever made a snide remark or been nasty to me as I get my workout on. Overall, I like them!

Even though Silver Sneakers paid my membership I stopped going last year and joined a gym at which I was paying the membership. It took months for broken equipment to be repaired, the air conditioning stayed broken and I felt dirty walking into the men's dressing room. Life Time has built a 5 story high dollar workout palace not too far away and this property's location and parking was too valuable not to be rebuilt [the first Wegman's Grocery in North Carolina is being built next door] - and that is now happening. I have received an email announcing that on Oct. 31, 2019 this location is closing.

Do not recommend. Its not a normal Lifetime you will feel like you're working out in a prison yard. I've been scared for my safety on several occasions. The parking lot is sketchy and the pool is disgusting.

I feel like this gym could be better kept. Some of the equipment needs replacing and about every other time I go the AC is out. There’s still good workout equipment here but not always in the best condition for a premium gym price. The pool and basketball courts are nice for those who want to use them.

I just signed up and decided to stop by the Six forks location only because of the convenient location. I started my workout at 5am and was disgusted by how dirty the equipment was first thing in the morning, the ladies locker room was no exception, mirrors and counters were just as dirty. Looks like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks! How is it possible for it to be that dirty first thing in the morning. The managers at this location need to hire a better cleaning crew or have current employees do daily walks around the gym to see what needs to be cleaned. Honestly I'm disappointed.

Will not let me out of contract, not even if I pay a cancelation fee. I called they told me to come in to cancel, after I drove there they told me I could not cancel! They lie to you! do not believe Them! Be ware do not sign up for lifetime, This is the only establishment that I have given a bad review to, I am thoroughly irritated. A few months back every single television was broadcasting Fox News, I called the corporate offices and complained. Subsequently, a short time later, Lifetime Fitness Corporate Offices sent out and email to all members stating that news would no longer be broadcast in any of their locations stating that the news was more than a distraction to the membership and their healthy well-being. Sadly , on Thursday 19 July, Fox News is again being broadcast on their televisions ..... I don't think the corporate office intended that the banishment of news programs (sports exempted of course) was a temporary thing. Also, it takes far to long to have equipment repaired and worn out cushion supports on equipment replaced. I don't think management stays on top of daily issues, my opinion. I am glad this location is there, folks are pretty friendly, and the place is always very clean.

Old member thinking of rejoining gym, but photos posted by owner on Google and Yelp are indication and reminder of deceitful and misleading practices at this particular location. Photos posted by owner are not of Six Forks location. Lifetime six forks is a bronze level facility. Photos are of gold or platinum level facility somewhere else. Be warned!

Has a younger clientele. No LT Cafe, no rockwall or racquetball court and is a Bronze LT of their other gyms. Convenient at the intersection of Wake Forest Rd and Six Forks Rd.

I give the gym three stars because I really like this gym, the atmosphere and the people ive met and friends ive come to know through this facility. This gym has great potential it should be 5 stars. But as a member I cant ignore the red flags over the passing months, the random .95 cent up charge to my membership even though i was locked in at $30 a month , but i let that go if it would benefit the club and improvements but its been just the opposite , as of late the broken machines that take months to fix, the Air Conditioning hasn't been working for the past week just fans and the sauna being on in the locker room making getting ready for work very uncomfortable. No one can give a straight answer on what the issues are I cant tell if they just don't care or what. For now ill stay a member and see if they can turn things around like i said i do like the gym its just like all the little things that should of been taken care of were just left unattended now with the AC not working especially with the summer months approaching itll become a bigger problem hopefully they can turn it around.

Good rate, nice range of equipment and space to work out. Some machines and equipment are old and need replaced, some of the staff could be friendlier and the gym overall could and should definitely be cleaner. TV's are lacking really hard in comparison to other gyms I have been at and that's a problem especially when you would like to watch a game while doing some cardio. Membership fee was pretty heavy here, I would like to see the gym put a little more effort in and see the manager step up. The gym is crowded and he/she is clearly comfortable with doing minimal because they aren't hurting for business. The mindset should be do everything you can to retain your business. If it stays this way for too long, I would downgrade my rating to 2 stars.

Your basic workout club, which is what I was looking for. I needed a second place close to where I work. I was surprised that they had a jacuzzi , which you do not see much anymore in regular clubs. For the price, I think it is a real bargain. What impressed me was the Account Manager Brandon. He spent some time with me and was very helpful in explaining the facility. Looking forward to starting up there.

⚠️ THIS LOCATION IS SET TO CLOSE ON/ABOUT NOVEMBER 14, 2019. This Life Time location was always very neglected and run-down. You could tell something wasn't quite right for quite some time. It's now apparent why! So, the developer that is building the plaza next door with the new Wegmans is going to expand into this block. Life Time Fitness, in its current form, did not fit into those plans.

I would have give them zero star if I could. The day I was there to sign up for the membership, they offered me three months no charge if I sign up that day but they kept charging me every month. I Had to call co-operate office to coplain because when I called the front desk,they were so rude and nobody really responded to me. My problem is still not resolved and I am so frustrated. I am working as a manager in one of the high end retails and I know exactly how much customers are valied to a business. They basically rip me off.I feel that they dont care about what they peomise you at the beginning,they just want to get you sign up for membership and then thats it. After all these happened I never even went there one day since I felt bad about this place and I wont recommend it to anybody at all.

Iv been to better gyms who also have better contracts. Personal trainers make you feel inadequate and poor cause you dont want to sign up an extra 170 a month for personal training. I gave them my 30 days notice like described but on the hush hush its different. I gave my 30 days just a couple days after the 1st of them month and they said they have to charge 2 months cause they only charge on the 1st. So I had to pay that month plus the other month and the managers wouldn't work with me. I finally just stopped going cause there place is such a turn off. Most horrible gym I have ever heard of. I would highly recommend somewhere else even if you have to drive farther to get there. I have been going to gyms for 10 years..

I've been using this gym since last September and so far I've had a fantastic experience. I docked one star due to the occasional hang up early in the morning with no towels and far too many locked lockers despite how many men are actually in the building. Otherwise I've had an excellent experience with this gym. The equipment is in great shape and everything is kept very clean. With the machines there are plenty of options and for those of us who like barbell training the two squat racks and for Olympic stations are a godsend. The few times something has broken it's fixed within a week and back up and running. I've never once been bothered by a single personal trainer to sign up and they've all been quite nice when I've asked to borrow the dip belt or when I had other questions and concerns. Over all I've been very happy with this gym and never felt bad with the original monthly fee of 45 dollars but even that got better with their network plan that once full brought my monthly down to only 20. I do really wish they'd get on people to follow standard gym etiquette though. Weights aren't reracked almost as a matter of course and I've never seen their rules enforced Single time. Improvements on that as well as the towel and locker situation would make this a 5 star review.

Unless the issue I have means someone will get hurt if it is not addressed, it seems like it is not taken care of. I have mentioned to the person at the front desk several times that the pool needs cleaning - there is a ring-around-the-pool like in a dirty bathtub. The door to the electrical room that is in the pool area is almost never closed. It is not heated in there so at this time of year the cold blows into the pool area and the air temp was sixty-five degrees yesterday. Pretty cold when you come out of the pool dripping wet.

I've been a member here since Lifetime took over from a failing club several years ago. It was great then. It's turned into a dump over the past 12 months. Below is a brief summary. The main floor carpet and the entire mens dressing room has developed a disgusting smell of dirty socks. The place overall is not kept as clean as it once was. The jacuzzi smelled like a mix of vomit and urine last time I was in it. There are grime and rust and filth on the floor around the swimming pool and jacuzzi. Pieces of equipment remain broken for months. The TV service on the cardio machines used to have a decent selection of channels, only a bare bones number of channels now. Many TVs on the cardio equipment remain broken and unusable going on 6+ months. I've brought some of these issues to the attention of Lifetime employees, always get polite concern, always nothing is done to correct the problems. I've been using gyms for years and this one has the telltale sings of one whose flame is burning out and is going down.

first visit to this location, i have been going to the cary location. in comparison this place is unorganized to say the least. I couldn't figure out what logic is followed in the placements of the workout machines, the cary location has those organized by targeted muscles, here they are thrown around the floor with no apparent rhyme or reason. makes it difficult to locate the one you need. Also its a very open floor which i did not like so much. the layout of the men's changing room is quite different than the cary location, here again, it is an open floor, in cary there at least a false sense of privacy, none in this location. the building is old and it looks like it might have been a grocery store prior to lifetime fitness taking over. I will not be returning here. oh, the guy at the front desk made no effort to greet me as he was pre-occupied with a personal call, same on the way out

well, I was hoping to just give a review of retribution. First off the AC has been working and I've noticed they have refurbished most of the equipment in the facility which is great. Unfortunately now the HOT water as been out for two weeks and per usual like the AC they've posted signs saying "there waiting for the parts to come in" which doesn't make sense since I don't believe anyone there (unless I'm wrong) is a licensed plumber. So I don't know what the issue is per usual but I have to say I've heard a lot of people thinking of relocating bc of the ongoing issues.I enjoy the facility and the people I work out around for now Ill stay a member. I mean a cold shower is refreshing but since I've been up charged from 29.99(contract I signed) to 30.95 id like to at least get the amenities that are supposed to be included hope they continue there momentum to make it a facility it could be.

I love Lifetime. They have a system where you build your network and it gives you rewards. They have a pool, a basketball court (indoor), playground for the kids, and more importantly...the gym!! A huge gym! :)

AIR CONDITIONER HAS BEEN BROKEN NOW FOR ALMOST 2 WEEKS THAT I KNOW OF.... I'M CURRENTLY HERE NOW & I'M JUST PLAIN MISERABLE. ..I ONLY COME TO THIS ONE OUT OF CONVENIENCE BUT PREFER TO ATTEND PLANTATION POINT .... ATLEAST 3 TREADMILLS HAS BEEN BROKEN FOR MONTHS ...& OUT OF 10 TREADMILLS ONLY 2 MAY HAVE WORKING TVS ..... I COULD GO ON BUT YOU GET MY POINT. .. HOWEVER I WILL SAY BUT LET THE PAYMENT BE BROKEN NOT WORKING OR LATE & THEY WILL QUICKLY LET YOU KNOW ! THIS GYM WASN'T THIS WAY ALL THE TIME SO WHAT'S GOING ON?

The gym quotes you at over 80 a month. For the amenities of a pool, basketball court, hot yoga, and sauna it's a decent price point. They run a special with a network where you can get your monthly payment down to 20 dollars. That's a steal for the amount of things you can do at the gym(classes and trainers included). The gym wasn't too packed, although it was a Friday night. The hours are decent but sometimes my work schedule only allows for a late night workout. Isaac was very nice and informative. He definitely works with you to get you the best price and to make sure you fee welcomed at the gym! The man does his job well! This is definitely one of the better gyms I've been to I'd recommend to my friends and family.

This place is awesome! Super responsive and such a great value! I’ve been a member since January and love it here! The staff is really pleasant and professional (even when I’ve come in at 6:30 in the morning!) and Brandon at the front desk as well as Brandon the account manager really went out of their way to assist me in getting equipment and helping me sign my brother up for a membership for the school year. I asked about the equipment because I had read a few reviews on here concerned about quality but they seemed like new to me—they let me know they’d replaced a lot of the cardio equipment in October of 2018. I love using the pool too, there’s always fresh towels, and the fact that they have hot tub or sauna for afterwards.

I have been coming here 3-5 times a week for over a year. I'm dropping my rating down because it just keeps getting worse. Sanitation isn't a priority here. The bathrooms on the Male side are always filthy, the hand sanitizer/cloth wipes run out and stay out for far too long, and I always find trash throughout the gym. All but the bathrooms I could handle, however there is no excuse as to why it is hotter and more humid inside than it is outside after the downpour. Turn on the AC, it's too muggy inside.

I joined only to use the hot tub and pool to see if the hot tub would help my lower back pain. First thing one notices in the men's locker room is that most of the lockers have broken hinges. In the pool area there are 6 light bulbs out. Kind of gloomy over on one end of the pool. Do not be fooled by the bright cheerful photo of the pool on the website. Also the one large light bulb in the men's bathroom sink area has been out. I reported this stuff two months ago. The metal ceiling above the pool is all rusted and makes one feel like you are are swimming around a rusty ship. No sign that anyone has begun fixing anything. Update 2 months later: I left written notes for the manager to call me to discuss the issues. He mysteriously is never there when I come in. Never received his call back. Over 600 people have read my first part of the review. One would think that many people could be influenced to not join based on reading review. So I guess that is not incentive for the manager to get things repaired. Only the light bulb by the sink has been repaired. If you look carefully at the pool ceiling, there is a rusty metal beam about 3 feet long hanging on by one rusty spot weld, ready to fall on someone in the pool.
