Crunch is affordable, clean, well run and the equipment is current. They have decent classes and friendly staff. Child care is key for us and they cannot be nicer to our kids and this is a great price too. We love Crunch and keep recommending it to our friends. There is something for everyone here.

It's a clean and affordable gym and the girl who signed me up was nice enough. I only ended up working out here a few times before canceling my membership. The vibe is judgemental and negative. I walked in one day when it was a slower time there was a group of maybe 6 people just sitting on machine in a cluster none of them were working out. People make rude comments. I just didn't like it. Canceled and now have a membership elsewhere.

I was threatened by some loud hothead today. He alarmed the other member in the locker room, and the front desk was notified. Other members told the front desk that this man was "out of control". The manager refused to cooperate with the police and give any information or any info what the other members told them. They also refused my request to ban the member for harassing another me. Btw, upon entry into the gym this same day, i almost tore my jacket on a broken jam on the front door. I immediately and kindly alerted the front desk of the danger. If anyone riped their jacket, or got cut on the sharp metal trim, i will vouch that it was present and the staff was notified.

They didn’t even try to ask if I had a pair of Functional Movement Denim Jeans, so they kicked me out for looking like ordinary ones. I just hope they know when I squat they won’t rip. Crunch, thank you so much for being a sport and thank you, Erick, for laughing at me on my way out it really helped my ego.... never again.

With all of the unfortunate events we experienced at Crunch Fitness and are still experiencing. We cancelled our memberships permanently in the Spring and are still trying to uncomplicate this matter even further unfortunately.. An extremely long drawn out matter with an employee who never answered the phone, called and created too many excuses for too long.

I am writing this review because I have shifted from being very satisfied with Crunch gym to being more than happy to be done with Crunch gym specifically. After canceling my personal training sessions and not being told of any further stipulations to the cancellation I was charged $200 again the following month. I spoke with someone at the front desk. Instantly, she was on the defensive and claimed that there needed to be a 30 day period for cancellation (although no one explained this to me, not during sign up or during my cancellation) and kept reiterating how I should have cancelled "on time," as if I was supposed to know what the time frame was. What she said next was extremely inappropriate. She proceeded to justify my charge for personal training by saying that it’s okay that I will have more sessions now because she "knows I want to get pregnant soon" and insinuated that to do that I would need to lose weight because her Aunt had to lose 50 lbs in order to get pregnant and that I "wouldn't want to deal with IVF." Not only was this comment offensive and invasive, but absolutely absurd. No professional under any circumstance should use a personal tidbit or opinion to comment on someone's weight as a means to RATIONALIZE A CHARGE TO A CREDIT CARD. Disgusting. Customer service is clearly not something Crunch values at the moment as I emailed the managers of the Morris Plains establishment and have heard NOTHING back. It has been a week since I sent the email explaining the situation and my encounter with the front desk staff. To top it off the email address that I was given for a “manager” from the front desk staff is one that is apparently available for all staff to see, not just the managers. So now this situation is no longer a private matter to be handled between myself and the management. I am upset and disappointed with the lack of professionalism and customer service at the Morris Plains Crunch gym and I can’t get in to cancel my membership soon enough.

Great gym, never packed and clean. Four stars because the ladies locker room is hot as hell!! Hot air blows out in full force which makes taking a shower and getting dressed for work impossible since you literally sweat through your clothes. We keep complaining to the front desk and they keep saying they're working on it. I'm told it has been this way since they opened. Fix it, very annoying!

Very affordable. Not a bad gym if you work out independently. Other than that, you get what you pay for. High turnover of trainers. Manager is impossible to get in touch with if you have an issue. Front desk employees are touch and go. Some are rude or completely unhelpful and dodge all questions with "you'll have to talk to the manager" who, as previously stated, is unreachable.

Absolutely terrible customer service. Me and my wife signed up for a membership in Dec, 2016 before moving to North Jersey. To our surprise(nothing was written on the website) the morris plains location was not open yet. We tried to be accommodating and use the a different location until it opened but it was too much of a drive for us. We tried to cancel over the phone but they try to make it difficult so people just forget or decide its not worth it. They made us drive there and sign paperwork cancelling. We did! now months later my wife is getting harassed by voicemails, and mail saying we owe them money. I called their collection agency "ABC" but they say we have to contact the gym to resolve the matter. Only problem is, is that the manager "Charmaine" wont return my calls. I have left at least 4 messages. She is the only one that can handle the matter and she takes care of multiple gyms(and she is the one we signed the paperwork with to cancel in the first place). What kind of establishment has only one person who can handle such and easy task. Then has that person bounce from location to location make it hard to resolve such a easy situation(their point again).

The gym itself is not a bad gym. Good amount of equipment and clean. Customer service however, is far from good. For as long as I've had my membership I have constantly had to keep an eye on my bank statements as I would be charged monthly payments when my account was frozen. Not the annual payments which I gladly paid for, but the payments that should not be charged to my account while frozen. I was told by staff that my account would unfreeze when I scan my card in the facility, but I later found out that is not the case. When confronted, customer service was very poor and defensive rather than trying to help. This has been the most annoying inconvenience as it has happened multiple times. As a gym member, I should not be constantly worried about payments on my account that do not belong. Membership is cancelled, moving onto one of the many better gyms in the area.

A great value at $10 a month! Good selection of weight machines, free weights, and benches. Plenty of cardio machines from treadmills, stairclimbers, ellipticals, and even a few spin bikes. They have a blue turf area for pushing the sled, stretching, or foam rolling those sore muscles. Gym floor and locker rooms are always clean. In fact, if you do your workout around the 8AM timeframe you'll see the cleaning staff making their rounds. Which I don't mind cause, you know, cleanliness and all. Check em out!

This was my favorite gym. It was such a great facility in such a great location. Then one day I blinked and they moved to a $#%+ hole that's totally inconvenient to get to, and the equipment is junk. Please renovate fast! Probably should have set up the new place before closing the old one, IJS... And for £¿(<'s sake, put a sign outside. I wasted half an hour of my workout time just trying to find the place. AYFKM?

Compared to other crunch places near me, it's very sparsely decorated. But I like how simply it's organized. The place is small but not overwhelming or overly crowded. Everything is very clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. What's not to like? I prefer this one over any other in my local area.

The gym is nice but the ENTIRE ENTRANCE ( the whole parking lot is disgusting you will slowly wreak your car, it’s like being in a War Zone, You would think a big company like this would have a paved nice entrance and parking lot for their customers, it’s really Gross, your shocks on your car will take a sever beating Be careful and go very slow VERY VERY WRONG, no excuses for such a Disgusting parking lot

I liked this gym at first but then they just moved to headquarters plaza with no email, call, or any notification. I walked into the gym one day and the lady behind the counter said "hey you ready for the move in 2 days?" How am I supposed to be ready when they didn't do there job to Inform their customers. It should be simple to send an email to all your customers, someone obviously can't do their job properly.

Really horrible attitude of female manager. Have been attending Zumba classes for $5.00 fee as non member. Today informed me that the fee is $10.00, they were charging me incorrectly, and she’s the manager, so she should know. Well , I probably would have paid the $10.00 fee, if perhaps she would have just said instead, ‘ Gee I am SORRY that my staff was unaware of correct pricing’. Your running a business and trying to attract people. Bad attitude and a power trip is not conducive to attain that goal...

good luck trying to cancel your membership. after a notice was left on the door of the gym i contacted crunch to cancel. they told me to email a certain address as it was a franchise that was privately owned. finally recieved a "ticket" number after a 2nd attempt at emailing a month later. and 2 months later I'm continuing to be charged.

This was my favorite gym to go and I’ve been going to Crunch for about a year and a half. New location is super inconvenient to get to, took half an hour out of my workout to find and park. Not only was it an inconvenient location but the equipment is trash and everything is carpeted which is unsanitary. I know they said renovations will occur shortly but I’m sure it will take at least two or three months to get up to par. I quickly cancelled my membership and will find a place elsewhere.

I have been a member for about 4 months and enjoy the gym when I actually get to go, I have the base membership which is about $10, you get a great gym for such a cheap price, much better than planet fitness. As far as the customer service goes I haven't had any problems and the staff seems friendly to me the only drawback I see is the selection of protein/sports drinks which is basically an issue at any gym I have gone to from golds to la fitness if it isn't isn't the selection it's the cost so I do what I can to bring my own

Clean, staff is friendly. So much equipment and weights, great classes, there’s something here for everyone. However, the parking lot is really bumpy with potholes and will ruin your car. In previous reviews Crunch has said they don't control this since its the strip mall's lot, however if multiple guests are complaining they should speak up. It's been horrible since I got my membership in summer 2017. Also in the women's locker room 3 locker doors have fallen off (even in front of my eyes), with no repairs.

Closed down practically overnight without notice to the members. They moved to Morristown HQ plaza, which is not convenient unless you live or work in Morristown. I don't appreciate being billed and having the location close without notice. I won't be maintaining my membership.

Joined in June, convenient , nice selection of machines however two months in half the lockers are broken and cant be locked.. one of the machines on the 1/2 circuit has been scheduled for maintenance (ie broke) for a month and half no response on when it will be fixed.. and charged twice for an annual membership fee (june and august) not sure whats happening here..hope they can get their act together.
