Great local hardcore gym. Cheap dues and lots of good equipment. The cardio selection is piss poor, but the iron and machines are very good. The locker rooms are a bit nasty as well. Overall a good place if you take your training a bit too seriously. The owners are both good local folks.

I can't say enough about this great gym! I found myself 3,000 miles from home and had heard about "American Iron" through some friends. It is my new favorite place! The people are amazing, equipment incredible, no stress or "gym d-bags". It was very easy to get a day pass and walking distance from GSR. Whether you enjoy easy machine workouts, cardio, or the most complex Olympic lifting, this is the place. My job takes me to hundreds (literally) of cities and it's so nice to find a home in a Reno. Thanks so much for the great workout...next time I'm in Reno, I'll be back!

This is the type of gym I would look for if I was a serious lifter. I am not a serious lifter, but I still workout here because everyone is really nice and the diversity of equipment allows for a variety of options. This is the best gym in Reno.

Great atmosphere to help individuals obtain personal goals. When I make my way down the hallway I'm inspired by all the different photos of many types of athletes and their achievements. American Iron and the owners care about each and every person that walk through those doors. I recently competed in a Powerlifting meet out of state and I thought I was alone with no support, but I wasn't because the American Iron family was there to help me through the competition. I never asked for help and yet Tammy sat behind me and coached me through the movements as I successfully deadlifted a new personal record. You won't find this kind of support anywhere. Thank you!

On a recent trip to Reno my son and I visited this gym. Excellent staff, lots of well maintained equipment, and very clean. It also had equipment outside for use on nice days. We have been to Quads in Chicago and Golds in Venice Beach to name a few, this gym is comparable to either.

Amazing gym, extremely well equipped and open to all types of fitness (powerlifting, bodybuilding, CrossFit, cardio) with a great team! Employees are very helpful, and the overall vibe of the gym is very positive and open to new clients. I was a huge fan of the space they had available, allowing anything from handstand walks to lunges to power cleans to stretching to occur even during the busiest of times. I have been to most gyms in Reno and American Iron is my favorite. The equipment selection is amazing and they have all the mobility tools you could ever want, (ex wife, pain pill, shoulderRok, etc). The staff is awesome and I’ve met so many people that push you to succeed. This is the last gym I’ll go to.

I have been to a lot of gyms, and none have paralleled American Iron. That is why I feel it is the best gym in America. So often people are reluctant to join a gym as they are worried about being judged. American Iron has an extremely welcoming attitude, and the members are there to help each other. It is amazing to find a gym so free of ego when there are many world class lifters and strength athletes training there. This is a direct result of the culture set by the owners Bob and Tammy. I'm beyond thankful this gym is in Reno.

American Iron Gym is one of the best equipped gyms I've ever been to. It's focuses on powerlifting and strongman, but there's something for everyone. They have every possible powerlifting bar I can think of and plenty of squat racks, monolifts, and platforms. They also have multiple sets of competition calibrated kilo plates and several IPF style combo squat rack/benches setup. Any time I'm in Fallon for work and have the opportunity, I make the hour drive each way to train at American Iron. If you live in the area, do yourself a favor and join.

By far the best gym in town, but don't come here if you are looking for Instagram pics. This is a gym for high-end, Olympic-level competitors to train and compete, but also a wonderful place for out-of-shape people to get solid advice from professional trainers and lifters about how to become stronger and live healthier. The atmosphere is relaxed, but the training is intense and aimed at high performance, which creates a unique and inviting experience for people of all skill levels to learn and improve. The staff is always inviting, keeps the gym in impeccable condition and provides wonderful advice (and even a spot) if you ask for it. If you are serious about getting in shape, come here, regardless of your body type, weight, or previous experience. But if you wanna get "beach body ready" or "swol" you might wanna pass it up for a modern gym.

The gym that other gyms worry about... If you know what I mean. But seriously, this gym has everything. General muscle building equipment and free weights in one room, speed training and CrossFit equipment in another room, strongman and Oly weightlifting in a different room, and powerlifting in the last room. There's also a cardio room and a personal training room. It's about 20,000 sqft of awesome. No contract, just like $40 per month, and everyone has been really friendly.

$30/month Amazing gym. The owners are always there lifting or training people. The people are great, but I mostly lift alone with headphones. All the equipment you could ever need! They have the mandatory DBs, flat and incline benches, cable machines and a decent amount of fixed motion machines. But that's only the beginning. Over to the freeweight section! Nine bar benches - 6 flat, 2 incline benches, 1 decline Three deadlift platforms - with 2 bar jacks Four squat racks - 3 power racks and 1 reg rack THEN!!! AN ENTIRE ROOM DEDICATED TO POWER-LIFTING!!! Tons of weights (KG and LBS), and numerous bars, deadlift platforms, and squat racks.

They use to be good. I had a membership with them all good the day I did not want the account I just called and they cancel it. Second time ..... nope not good they become just as bad as any other gym - I call to cancel my subscription - oh they can not do it I have to go online in my account to do it - ok I got the email log in - in my end did not give me the to cancel it - called the same thing oh they can long in but they are not authorized to cancel it. Conclusion just not easy to get read of them.
