Where do they hire these people from? Trainers in the locker rooms taking selfies and flexing their skinny arms. You try to make a change on your account and no one knows how to help you. Worst gym ever! Hire people that have some type of education in the industry. Everyone is just sits there on their phones. No member service. I guess that is what you get at a minimum wage job!

HORRIBLE !!!!! I told them that I moved unexpectedly and I wanted to cancel my membership they told me I had to pay a 200 cancellation fee. It’s just ridiculous!

Very clean and well kept facility. The club seems to keep customers well informed of improvements and other changes. Genesis has a good variety of classes and workout equipment that is complimentary to the strengths of each facility.

The staff here is AWESOME! I've been to several gym and this one has the most personable employees I have ever met. My personal trainer Alex makes sure I don't overdo myself. That is a true professional! I haven't seen or met someone like Alex, in a very long time.

Agree that customer service is absolutely terrible. Avoid this gym at all costs if you can. There are so many hidden fees and ridiculous contracts. I decided to just pay the $275 to cancel my membership but oh yeah, apparently they require 30 days notice so I still got charged another month. As if the $275 wouldn't cover your trouble, you still need another 50? Such a scam!

They couldn't tell me how they got my phone number or how I got on there list. They called me multiple times throughout the week. When I asked to be taken off their list, the sales rep Jessica was rude and pushy. She wanted to know if I belonged to another gym. After telling her I wasn't interested she asked me if I belonged to another gym, what I did for exercise and felt that I should do more. After telling her I wasn't interested 3 times she asked for my name and hung up.

I like that it’s not too crowded and when I want to use a machine most of the time it’s available. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I feel comfortable and that’s how you get results!

Please watch out I do not recommend this gym for you in less that you want to get in to debt There is a cancellation fee of $500 Plus one month they will charge you extra when consolation I canceled in November 2016 they still charging me me all until January 2017 of another year Because truthfully I did not pay the solution fee right away And truthfully I didn't even know it was a contract I thought it was just a waiver I was unaware in the small print at the contract Because the guy who sold me the contract said he could brief me on it by just explaining that And did not tell me that What's the consolation fee They are rude to you once you want to cancel but they are very nice to you when you want to start

Where do I even start with this mess? I came into the club at the end of April with the intentions of cancelling my membership but the manager Rick Hennings talked me out of it because of the expense. Instead, he proposed that I take my fiance off and downgrade to a single membership. I agreed and asked for the paperwork or contract to sign, he then informed me that there was no need for paperwork because he had updated their system and that next billing cycle, I would be charged for a single membership around $40 dollars. Again, I asked him if I needed to sign anything, but he said he had it all taken care of. This billing period comes around and I am billed for 2 people, so I call in and speak to Shane Kading and he assures me that they will credit my account and fix my membership, all I had to do was come sign the contract.. Today, I call in to let him know, I will be over soon to sign the contract, but he does not remember even talking to me and lets me know that Rick Hennings does not have any recollection of our meeting and that my account will not be credited. At this point, I feel completely disrespected because there is no customer service whatsoever coming from these men but trust me it gets worse. I have a meeting with them June 4th and I sign new paperwork and Shane assures me that my account will be credited. Fast Forward to today.. My account is not credited whatsoever, so I call and inform Rick at which he says there is no proof that I should be credited at all on my account?!?! At this point I feel extremely disrespected as a woman because its pretty obvious these men have no respect for others around them. As our conversation goes on, Rick says that its even nice for him to look into this problem seeing that I apparently have no proof… That's when I lose it and I am done. Usually, I am not an angry person but people must be warned about these men and the money they are stealing from people. Today, I decided to post this because I am sick and tired of these men trying to take advantage of me and Genesis health clubs stealing my money. I have two different recordings of these men in which they tell me I will be credited and I intended to get my money back and put a stop to this scam

Very clean and very friendly! Been to a lot of different gyms and Genesis is hands down the best out there! From good cardio machines to great powerlifting equipment, this makes Genesis the perfect gym!

Pros: I've never had to wait for equipment. The prices are reasonable for what they offer. They have plenty of parking which is always a plus. Cons: childcare hours, wish they were open friday afternoons 4-8pm like every other day during the week for those who work. I also wish they had Sunday hours for kids club even if they were short like Saturdays. They also sd not have a ton of options for toys inside the kids area, it's clear they spent a ton of money on the gym equipment but not much on this childcare room. They also can not control the temperature. Today it was near 90 degrees in the room, my 8.5 month old was sweaty and clamy when I picked her up, 8 year olds cheeks bright red and she was saying it was so hot in there. Even the childcare employees were complaining of being hot and sweaty . They definitely need to get the temperature under control for safety reasons. I also did not like they do not have a designated infant area. My 8.5 month old is crawling, you'd think they had a section gated off to contain movers but nope she can crawl all over the dirty floor covered in salt from the snow and ice and water from kids wet shoes. I had hoped to see the kids area slowly improve but you can tell it's just not important at this loxation. Definitely not resigning when our membership is up, will pay more for a better facility for my children. For a person without kids, sure this could be a great gym but I can't comfortably recommend it to someone who has them.

The gym is always clean, the machines are in working order, the temperature is just right. The rating would be higher if the staff put forth effort to know and greet the regulars by name. Keep up the good work!

I have seen some positive changes recently, however the equipment really needs to be updated or at the very least fixed. I was using an elliptical last night that has not worked correctly since Genesis took over. It shuts off as soon as you stop and you cannot get your stats on the workout you did. Also the cable wire has been broken for some time on the same elliptical. It is things like this that cause me to give only 3 stars. I also attend the classes at least 2 to 3 times per week and love them. I do wish there was more variety but understand that the numbers are not always there.

I was interested in a membership over a year ago, but ended up going with another gym. TO THIS DAY, I still get emails, texts, phone calls about signing up. I've told them many times I am not interested. What will it take for them to stop harassing me?

HORRIBLE COMPANY AND PEOPLE They lie, they don't return phone calls, they don't return emails, and the management staff is the worse possible staff imaginable. These people are a culture who only care about money and business and obviously don't care about people. I had issues with the company that went all the way to the Vice President and in the end he lied just as much as the rest of the company does. Do not go anywhere near this company (especially this location). They are the worst. Originally we were Premiere Fitness and we then moved to the Shadow Lake location and changed to Aspen Athletic. That was a fantastic company and everybody loved them. Then they were bought out by Gold's Gym and they were okay but had many issues and lost many people. I know because we all still work out together at other places. Once Gold's was bought by Genesis, the place went downhill and in my opinion is now the worst possible place you could go to. I have dealt with many people inside this company at multiple locations and at the corporate level. Please stay away.

Not even a one.. had to pick a star to post. I gave notice in May for a freeze on my membership because of a shoulder injury with a Drs note. I asked to terminate my membership at the same time by Oct. Alex has been helping me but this big mess isn't being addressed to the proper mgmt, because they in turn are all leaving the club!! They have taken 4 months of my money! I am totally wanting to tell everyone what a crooked place the inside of the club is.. check it out, don't take face value!! Still waiting with all my credentials needed. A very untrustworthy club management for sure!! Alex please end this process with my money refunded to me!

My wife and I were told when we signed up that it was a month-to-month contract but just found out it was for a year when we tried to cancel it. In addition, we could never sign our contract because of technical issues with their new system yet they have signatures on the contract (somehow) and said it was sent out to us (it never was). So now we are trying to cancel this membership to a place where the people behind the counter are too busy trying to pick up co-workers or text on their phone rather than invite paying customers in the door every day. This place sucks and now it looks like we a re stuck for 7 more months. DO NOT SIGN UP HERE!

Nonstop calls. I gave them the benefit of the doubt last year because my gym's rates were going up. I was unemployed and low on money at the time, but was starting a new job the following month so I wanted to plan ahead. They called and I set up an appointment. Biggest mistake. I didn't think I could get harassed through text but I have. I was trying to explain that I wasn't going to Shadowlake afterall, had lost my job, and that it was really out of the way for me. Then the guy whines to me in a very unprofessional manner about how he had come in on his day off, specifically to give me a tour. I feel bad because I think it's some kid who's boss was gonna get after him. Turns out it's an older man who wasn't friendly for even a second the entire time I was there. They make you give them your liscense right away to have on file. I tried to explain to them that I wouldnt be able to join until March because I was unemployed at the time and would need to save up again. He shows me their prices and the only way it would be more affordable than my current gym at the time was if I signed a 3 year contract. I told him I wouldn't be able to even consider joining until March so to please not contact me until then. The man throws a hissy fit but agrees and basically shoos me out of the building. I never got the tour either which was the entire reason I drove across town. Then starting the next day the phone calls and voicemails started coming and don't seem to be ending. I've blocked their phone numbers and they still continually fill up my voicemail. I thought they might be a good switch at first but now I wouldn't go to them if they were the last gym on Earth. Stop hounding people when they tell you they can't join at the time and maybe you'd have a shot at getting them to join when they're able...

Awful experience. I visited to discuss a membership 8 months ago and have gotten non-stop calls from different numbers asking me to join since. I have talked to at least 3 people and have requested I be taken off their list. It has not happened in 8 months. Do not leave your personal information. At this point, I consider it harrassment and have no respect for this company.

Super friendly staff I'm always greeted with a smile as I walk in. I had the pleasure of meeting the manager dillon he's really shaped this gym up. Everything is spotless and I've never felt more welcome. I've been to other gyms around the area but this location is my favorite.

The place is dirty, most equipment is worn out or broken. I think corporate needs to put some money into this location as they did at Tara (84th Street). Even if they dont replace the worn out equipment it would be nice if management would at least keep the place clean.

If you want to deadlift in Sarpy County, this is a great place to go. I love that they converted a spinning room into a squat/deadlift room with an actual deadlift platform and bumper weights.

Genesis will rob you blind. You pay $50 a month in membership dues and then they have to charge you a yearly $40 enhancement fee because apparently your membership money doesn't go towards things like maintaining their equipment.

Terrible Gym. Bathrooms are always dirty and out of soap and towels. People are constantly getting things stolen out of the locker room and staff does nothing to try and raise security, and the staff is rude and acts as if you are in their way. Go to the Genesis down the street on 84th St. It’s busier, but worth it.

I love going to Golds in Papillion!! The guys who work there are nothing but welcoming and humble. I have nothing but great things to say about the membership staff! Thanks for making it such a comfortable place to be. On top of that, the equipment is up to date, the facility is always clean, and the locker rooms/showers, etc are unbeatable! I definitely recommend signing up for a membership!!

WORST COMPANY--- STAY AWAY! After being pressured into joining this overly priced gym and cancelling my membership right away following this (which included paying the very expensive cancellation fee), the company continues to try to bill me... I have spoken with the gym managers and none of them have been helpful or been willing to help me figure out why the gym continues to charge me. I DO NOT recommend this gym.

This gym is now a genesis instead of a golds gym, and it was great. I went in to try the 7 day trial before signing up, they talked to me about my goal and really listened to what it is im trying to achieve. They educated me on they're process, to help me reach my goals and it was the best gym experience I've ever had.

Amazing gym. There's a ton of equipment and a lot of space so you don't feel right on top of anyone and you don't have to wait to use a machine. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable, always willing to help you learn a new machine or technique.

Awful. Their customer service is terrible. 'Bunch of idiot meatheads that "dont know the system" well enough to handle simple billing errors. Went in person 3 times first time i got charged a late fee (for funds that were in my account i might add) and asked to speak to a manager, that never happened. Nor did i ever once recieve a phone call back from said 'manager'. Second, and final(only because i canceled my membership), billing issue was again an overcharge for another ghost "late fee". Finally after calling multiple times i reached what they call a manager. He was completely useless. He couldn't tell me why i was assessed the fee and once i told him i could provide bank statements, assured me he would "go to bat" for me with his 'rep'. Absolute scam. DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM.

This club is generally clean and well-maintained. I enjoy the spin and other fitness classes. Everything I need is at this gym, Including childcare. Although my kids prefer some of the other genesis locations simply because they have a jungle gym/ slide inside of them and this location does not.

Upside of this gym is the culture and mid aged folks just trying to stay healthy. Downside is lacks cleaning it use to and not best equipment in comparison to base gym. Still enjoy going here mainly due to low key atmosphere.

I signed up for a free 1 week trial in 2013. I have received phone calls from Matt and 2 other gentleman every month, sometimes more than once a week. They send texts and leave voicemails constantly. I was very polite the first couple of YEARS however this past year I confronted them about calling me all the time and continuing to call me after I asked them to stop and they hung up on me. I have now reported them to the BBB and will be providing copies of my phone records to show their abusive marketing practices that are illegal. From looking at these revies I am not the only one dealing with this issue either.

I’ve been searching for a good gym in the Bellevue/Papillion area, and searching my options for about a week. Today, I decided to stop into Genesis at Shadow Lake to get a quick tour and feel for the place. The front desk people were nice and told us that they would have someone come talk to us. An employee who handles the memberships came over and talked to us and they got a trained worker to show us around. The employee who showed us around was extremely standoffish, and could care less about potential members. He then took us over to the membership area and made us sit down and threw his pen down and got the other employee. They then proceeded to hound us with questions about why we wouldn’t sign with them. He then begged and asked us what will make us sign, we said nothing and he still was bashing other gyms in the area to convince us. We were so uncomfortable that we had to say im sorry and leave, they were extremely rude. I definitely won’t be back to this establishment.

I love the atmosphere at this location, all of the staff is friendly. It's hard for me to get comfortable with a gym but I had no troubles at all with this gym. They have a lot of machines I enjoy and so far everyone I've met there is always willing to share the equipment. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.
