Very friendly staff that make you feel welcome every time you walk in the door. Many of them remember me by name. The facilities, however, are very small and during peak times using the weight room can be frustrating as the weight room is very small (only two benches and one squat rack). There also seems to be a poor culture of weight room etiquette as people tend to leaves weights on bars and not put away equipment they are done using. But I can't say enough good things about the staff!

If you go early in the morning, then parking is free. Otherwise, it costs during the week unless you live or work downtown. The staff are consistent and friendly. I personally like that it feels like a city gym.

This is a good gym with excellent machinery and weights selection. The pool is good with some classes and almost always set up for some lap swimming. The Downtown Y gets pretty busy before and after work and the classes and cardio machines can get filled up pretty quick. The Y does have a unique relaxing steamroom. As of 1/29/12 the Y is having towel trouble apparently and limits to one per person and that can be a pain. Also the only cleaning of the machines and weights seems to be done by the customer. There are signs everywhere asking you to clean the machines after use which I can understand but it would be nice if a monthly deep clean was given to the gym. It seems the only time it is really clean is after a remodel.

Great location for inner city. By the time you park, several reps could be done . A lot of people sit on weights & wastes time, like other work out facilities now.... They text & have no idea of how to let persons "work in" w/them. The Y is for brotherly/sisterly - hood. If it weren't for people like Rhonda, Barb, and Troy's philosophy on helping others, the X concept is lost. We need to build just like the growing downtown (it's a city now!)

I like the ymca downtown alot. The only problem I have is I can't ever seem to ve able to get in touch with a fitness coach or someone. I havrnt been to a gym in 25 years so I do feel lost as to what I am doing and it would be nice to speak with a coach or someone about my goals and how to achieve them

This YMCA IS very nice! It is just as nice as the one in Calcutta or anywhere else! Its totally different then it use to be honestly! U should go check it out sometime, to see for yourself!

Recovering from surgery so I can't use pool. Love the steam room & staff. This Y seems neglected compared to others, but weight room & cardio machines work if exercise is your goal.

The staff is nice, friendly, and helpful. I never seen this gym busy so you don't have to compete for machines or weights. I love the weight room in the basement because it is so old school. You have to try it. Plus, this location is a lot bigger than you think. It's like four floors I think.
