We've got all the reviews of real people like you who consumed the services of Cooper YMCA (Gym) in the state of Nebraska.
At the present the firm has a rating of 3.9 over 5 and that score has been based on 57 reviews.
You may have noticed that its rating is really high, and it's based on a large number of opinions, so we can think that the evaluation is quite faithful. If people have bothered to rate when they've done well with the service, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to set reviews when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Gym belongs to the category of Gym.
The Cooper Y is within minutes of our neighborhood and provides many different options that appeal to our family - whether it's group fitness classes, swimming lessons, seasonal events (like the Halloween Party, or Santa visits), or personal workouts. We've been members for years and love how we've gotten to know staff and members alike. The on-site childcare is a bonus as well since it's hard to squeeze in a workout when you have a family. Plus their wellness center is now open until 11pm on certain days, which is great!
It's so nice
Keegan morrow was incredibly rude and acted like my time wasn't a valuable as his. I will be changing my gym membership to good life fitness because of how disrespectful the employee was to me.
Great pool area, hot tub is nice. Top notch exercise equipment, and typically can stay an hour past closing on the smaller side.
One problem and I feel it is a major one is that there is only one basketball court. Otherwise, this is a great gym and is very well maintained.
They cut benefits for their staff and lost a lot of great people as a result. Be especially wary of signing up for preschool. They will not keep your kid safe.
Been a member for years. Clean and friendly staff
Great place to workout. But they have to chang people how are watching the kids !!!!
Amazing workers I go there every morning. Everyone are so nice
YMCA pools are great. The gyms are there for all ages because of the youth gym and main gym. The ymca has a great game room for kids and WiFi for all. They have summer camps for your kids. YMCA even has a rock climbing wall. The YMCA is fun for all so I recommend going as soon as possible!
Great place to workout
I walked into this facility and walked out within ten minutes. The upstairs workout area is dark and ultimately depressing, not to mention incredibly cramped. The machines were pretty outdated. You can hear the noise from the basketball court echoing in every area...well actually more like every noise everywhere. Overall, this place felt like a warehouse. Would not reccomend. Considering the Copple Family YMCA is ten minutes away and a much better environment, this YMCA’s setup really needs some revisitation.
Friendly people and staff but when it comes to cancel your membership they don't work with u and I'm a truck driver so hard to get in there all the time so I have to stop them from getting money through my bank
I must begin by expressing my disgust and distain for the Cooper YMCAS’ aquatics team. First off, I had placed my child in their swimming lessons to build the skills nescessary to be a successful swimmer. My child was in the Level 2 swimming class. I watched as he was instructed on the different covered topics. I can say he was learning but was not ready or skilled enough by the ending of the class to move up to the Level 3 group. I was very satisfied with their recommendation to not pass him. Second, I again signed him up for Level 2 swimming group. Again I watched his understanding of the tasks asked of him during this groups sesson he was showing positive strides in potentially passing. Enough strides that during the half way mark he was given a thumbs up from the instructor that he would pass. I was estatic for him. Yet when it came time to testing a brand new instructor who had not taught his class once was the one doing the final exam and failed him for the second time! Sighting more developement of the skills nessacary to pass. Thirdly, I again signed him up for swimming lessons in group 2. However this time I decided not to watch the lessons. I was again given the thumbs up during the half way point that he would pass because he was completing all of the tasks required of him by one of his instructors. Again testing time came but the instructor who gave me the green light was not the one who tested him. The other instructor failed him for the third time! If I could provide any reasonable advice for anyone looking to have the YMCA at Cooper teach your child to swim I would highly recommend going else where. I have invested a bunch of money into these lessons for my child not to be given all of the instructions needed to pass each lesson let alone the same one three times. Plus placing so many children in each lesson that one instructor could not possiblely teach all of the requirements to all of the children in the class. Save your money! Make sure you are going to get what you are paying for. Do not book through Cooper Y aquatics.
Fairly well maintained and a large variety of age ranges that visit here. The workout area is pretty nice with lightly outdated, although in good condition machinery. Huge array of treadmills and a great place for anyone to start exercising or try to get back into shape. Would recommend to anyone nearby.
This is not only a great place to work out but also a great place to work. Friendly staff and members. More than just a gym it's a real community.
Living in Lincoln, I could say this is the tied for the best gym in the city (Other two are horrible). First off, the Staff is really nice especially a couple in particular who made the Membership process easy for me and are friendly every time I walk in. Only problem is the negative thing about the gym, you can't find many staff members around because they are usually fooling around or socializing. The basketball gym doesn't have good size which is bad, and on weekends they cut half of it off for birthday parties. So the size is awful however, out of the other 3 YMCA's in Lincoln, this gym is much nicer and newer. Can't complain much about the Weight Room. Fairly new, could improve but good for the most part. Gets crowded sometimes. Pool is very nice also. Overall it's a great YMCA, tied for the best in Lincoln with Fallbrook. Nice Staff, decent equipment. Can't give it a 3 though as it isn't perfect in my opinion.
A beautiful community focused gym and daycare for the whole family. Very focused on a healthy lifestyle!
Great gym. Child watch is excellent, our daughter loves going to pay while we work out. She also loves gymnastics and get dance classes. I highly recommend the copper ymca. Best in town by far.
My favorite Y & hot tub! Staff is great. Awesome place for entire family.
Great place to work out..and the staff and equipment is top notch..
The largest YMCA by membership and for good reason! Good facilities for exercise, an outdoor pool and picking up some basketball games. Some nice family events like TurkeyTrot and Silent Auction held throughout the year. The YMCA also has programs for families like Childwatch and Summer camps. true service to the community.
We visited while on vacation from Las Vegas so my daughter could get a few swims workouts done. My family was very impressed with the facilities and staff. Clean, modern, and friendly.
Basketball and taekwondo is good
Prob best Y in town. Big open space. Mewer equipment. Friendly staff. Going there with all family and always having fun
This location is great. It looks new, it's always clean, and it is very open. I like how there is two workout locations so it doesn't ever feel too crowded. The staff is great, very friendly, and helpful. I do wish they would match the heavier dumbbells though. They aren't the same size even though they are the same weight if that makes any sense. Also, they only have one 85 lb dumbbell so you can't use two of them for a workout. Otherwise, awesome place to workout.
I’m specifically commenting about the lifeguards. I’ve complained before and will again! I’ve seen the lifeguards talking to other guards, staff and friends without paying attention to the kids in the water! This is totally unacceptable! Although as parents we are responsible for our kids’ safety, the lifeguards also have a responsibility! They need to be trained better and understand how important their job is for the safety and well being of the swimmers!
The gym is great and most of the staff are very friendly. However, one lady during the early morning shift is very rude all the time, she would not respond when I say morning to her, and chase after people to see what they are up to around the gym.
Positive - well set up to reduce congestion - free weights and machines in diff areas - good pool and hot tub, slide often opened - location is by a nice park and library
They just need a couple of assault bikes.
A great gym with a great staff
Amazing equipment, awesome staff, great prices on membership, and very clean.
The yoga class with Suzi was annoying and played music you would not expect to hear, it just seemed like downward dog over and over. The employees start "backwashing" the hot tub at 845 PM, so the water is lukewarm from that time on...and they are unapologetic, saying, "We just do what we are told." A hot tub should be hot! Or they should say the hot tub closes at 845PM.
At the front desk Amy was very rude and disrespectful to myself and my family. She refused to let us use a single guess pass stating that I cannot use one if I am not over 19. I am 22 years old as she could see on the screen and then proceeded to follow us around the gym as we play basketball and kicked out my 10 year old sister saying she had to sit outside of the gym because she was not old enough. She had also given me a false name when I asked for the boss of the establishment which I had to find on my own through the website. Extremely upset with the blasphemous disrespect at a "family" establishment.
If I could give zero stars I would. To start off : My son and his Cub Scout pack are here for a Lock-In tonight at this location only because the Fallbrook YMCA wasn’t available. Our Leaders were told that we could get into the building at 9:45 (that was even a stretch to get the Director to do that) due to having such a large amount of kids and adults & we only have the pool from 10:00pm - 12:00am; so we needed some time to get everyone’s beds and whatnot set up in the gym & get changed for the pool. Well we were let in at 9:45 only to come into a dark gym with just enough light to kind of see where we were going to put our stuff down
Nice place to workout with a great childcare that kids can play. My kids love Cooper Y.
