This gym has everything you need in order to train and get fit. Music choice is very good. The reason I'm giving it only two stars is that I'm incredibly disappointed that I cannot use the FX part of the facility. I certainly understand not using it during others' personal training just as I would never use the group fitness room during group fitness classes. Clients taking personal training are paying more for it, therefore should be given top priority and privacy in that room. That being said, the fact that I still cannot use that huge room when no one is in there personal training is completely asinine. I'm sure that part of my monthly fees pay for the equipment in there along with the heat/AC/lights. When my three months is up, I'll find someplace else where I can use more than just half the gym.

This is hands down the best gym I have ever been too. It's open 24/7 and they just got all new hammer strength benches and dumbells!! I like the fact when I'm doing cardio I have my own tv screen.

I signed up with a groupon for 2 months in April. I then cancelled my membership before my two months groupon were finished (which was what I was told to do if I didn't want to be charged monthly by powerhouse). Powerhouse Saline proceeded to charge me twice, once before my groupon was even up, and another time after I cancelled. I have tried calling, emailing, and going in person to talk with manager/owner and every time I am told he will get back with me and he never does. This is straight robbery and I will be reporting you. Lastly, The powerhouse corporation should shut them down or remove "powerhouse gym" from them. This is the most disgusting gym I have ever been too and they expect you to pay 70 a month for crap. Half of the machines are old and run down (torn up barbells, torn up leather on benches) and some do not even work and nor do they fix them. The locker rooms smell like feces and pee, they should be embarrassed to have people workout there.

I love this place. It's open 24/7 and they just had all new cardio delivered with TV's. I watch all my favorite shows while doing cardio it goes by so quickly.

The gym itself is decent. It has a great selection of dumbbells. The machines and other equipment are a bit crowded in the small space but its not really an issue. My problems started when I asked twice when I signed up if there would be any fees other than the dues and was told twice that no, there would not be. I then found out there was, only when my bank account was charged for them over drafting my account. When I called the gym (understandably upset but not rude) the owner, instead of apologizing for his employees lack of communication about the annual fees, got upset that I "disrespected" his employees. I then canceled my membership on Feb 25th. When you sign up you have to pay first and last months dues but it appears my account has been charged again in March. I was told the only way to cancel your membership is to email the owner (done on Feb 25th) and in that email I specifically asked about when the last dues payment would be charged. I never got a response. Now it looks like I will have to either have the bank block Powerhouse from being able to charge my account (if possible) or I will be forced to cancel the card used for the membership so that they stop charging me for a membership I have already canceled. I would not recommend getting a membership to this gym unless you know that you will NEVER want to cancel your membership. [UPDATE 03/09/2017] the owner did respond to my second email and stated that he would be refunding me for the dues charged after membership cancellation. I will update this review again if the refund is credited to my account. [UPDATE #2 03/20/1977] I never received the promised refund. I ended up canceling my bank card to ensure that I was not charged again for my canceled membership. I have to say I have NEVER had such a horrible experience with any business.

I have been working out here for over 2 years now. They had two section to the gym and I used them both. The "FX" section was rundown so when they started renovating I was excited until I saw a door go up. They blocked off the area to current members. So I lost a section of the gym that I used frequently and you think they lowered the rates? No they raised them to pay for equipment that I am NOT allowed to use. If they raised the base membership rates but gave us access to the new equipment when there is no group work, i would be ok with it. I hope the owners sees this and really think hard about the decision to piss off their long time customers!

Was in town visiting family, looking for a suitable place to lift. Called, the gal who answered the phone (and staffed the front desk when I arrived shortly after) was super friendly and helpful. She explained their guest pass policy ($15 per visit per person or $45 for a week) and maybe cause I was polite or she was just being nice but she offered a small discount and said they will only charge me $10...as far as the gym itself, my only concerns would be about the number of squat racks(2), stairmills(2) and flat benches(1). I was there from 330 to 530pm and the racks and benches were full most of that time. That said, people were very friendly and offered to let me work in... They also have some #100 lb plates, I had never worked w those before and was inspired to deadlift on their Oly platform.(rogue platform, full set of bumpers in great condition) Went to leave and couldn't find my wallet and keys, asked around and no one had seen them. Asked the front desk gal and she seemed concerned and started helping me look. Mentally retraced my steps again and remembered that I had set those things in the cup holder of a treadmill. Gal from the front desk seemed genuinely relieved... All in all, I got the sense that Powerhouse Gym is a well managed small business, the front desk person actually cares and tries hard to be helpful to an out of town guest/1 time customer. As far as weights it's a pretty solid facility. I'm going to try to swing by again tomorrow before my flight out and will certainly want to come back in the future.

I have been a member off and on while away at school at powerhouse for years. The owner has continuously ignored member cancellations when given the appropriate cancellation time. I cancelled my membership in August because I moved to SC in September, but they CONTINUE TO CHARGE ME. I have tried to call and speak to the owner/manager, but he never gets back with me. The owner of this establishment obviously does not care about his members, but just cares about the money he is receiving. When they increased the monthly fees, we were told this was to create a new workout room with Olympic lifting equipment that members could use. While they did create this new room, if you are already paying the 70 a month, you can not use this room without paying more or paying to have a trainer. This new room was the only good thing about this place, and they made it into a money maker instead of a benefit for the members. The "member" side of the gym is disgusting. The bathrooms smell like pee, and the equipment is old, torn, and some of it is broken/unsafe to use. This gym gives powerhouse a terrible name. The only reason they have business is because there is no other competition in the area.

Still getting charged 2 months after I left the gym. The employee said to cancel you email and then 30 days after that the charges are now. So far been charged twice. Ridiculous

The gym has really done a great job with equipment over the past couple of years. The cardio equipment is newer model, the weight machines are smooth, and the dumbells are brand new as of 12/16.

A good place to workout. Rarely crowded. Pretty clean and the staff is friendly. They have everything you need. Price is good too. It's a very short drive from Ann Arbor. Worth the ten minute drive from AA. Wish I had access to the room with more advanced/crossfit style equipment. That's only for when paying a personal trainer.

I gave it one star because PH kept charging my CC after I clearly terminated training and membership 4 months ago. If I didn't notice it, will PH keep stealing from me forever? The lengthy contract that you signed, it cannot be terminated by making it crystal clear that you decide to terminate it. I still recommend this place due to the stellar trainers (i gave my trainer a very positive review on thumbtack) and very friendly, supportive, vibe, just be aware that you will have to yell and fight to stop being robbed afterwards. PS: just scrolled down others' reviews and unsurprisingly im not alone. PH, you have good trainers and good equipments, please just drop this despicable behavior and you will become a perfect gym.

I have been working out at Powerhouse in Saline for a month. I have found the staff really helpful and Kenny (one of the trainers) has really helped me understand the right way to work out and has given me a lot of advice. I wanted to make some changes to my membership and I had to talk to Chris, the owner,about it. He offered a solution to my change and seemed to care more about me and my goals then getting every dollar possible. Great gym and I look forward to reaching my goals there. David Crisp

Unfriendly staff who is usually too busy staring at their phones to even greet you as you walk in. Also charged me an extra month after cancellation. Very disrespectful to any concerns of their patrons. Would not recommend this gym to anyone

Don't bother trying to come to this place, especially if you're a non-member. Apparently they don't staff their 'staffed' hours (i came at 5:45pm Monday, and their sign says staffed until 7:30pm). So if you're in from out of town and want to workout there is no one available to A: Answer the phone and B: even let you in the door. I don't see this place being open much longer.

I have been a member at this gym for 9 months now and couldn't be happier! The owner and staff are great. They are prompt at addressing any issues we may have and have created a family feel. My wife and I are both super comfortable working out here. We both mostly take advantage of the weights, treadmills, bikes and elliptical machines. When the kids cooperate with timing, we like to attend some of the many workout classes they offer. I enjoy the yoga sessions and my wife the cardio kick boxing classes. The biggest plus for us is the onsite daycare! In our opinion this transforms our gym membership from a great value to the best value anywhere. The daycare provider is extremely attentive, skilled, and is top notch. She has saved my kids from tantrums and seems to know what to say and do in order to get them to have fun in the daycare so I can workout in peace. We first started dropping our daughter off here at the onsite center at two and a half months. This made me nervous at first but after a few days I knew she was in great hands and have felt 100% confident and comfortable ever since. If you are looking for a gym, I strongly encourage anyone to try out Powerhouse Gym Saline. You won't be disappointed!

Chris is a very friendly guy who tries hard to do a good job with his customers.

The gym provides a great place to lift heavy things. The bathroom, lookerroom and Showers are absolutely disgusting. There is mold on the walls and it smells like the zoo. It has to be a health hazard. I would give this gym a high rating if it were not for the lack of cleanliness

Gym was dirty. My membership should have been $70 ($45 for myself + add on $25), but I was charged $190 total for first and last month which doesn’t add up. I don’t know where the gym Maintenace fees go that they charge you every year. I will be canceling and going somewhere else.
