The gym is okay. Not much better than a planet fitness. Main benefit is that they have more free weight/heavier dumbbells. Signed up for 12 months. After the 12 months, I figured the membership would terminate, not roll over to monthly. Got another charge($150) for their yearly maintenance/renovation fee and kept getting billed. Got a new card and now have $60 to “catch up” on my membership and they say they require 30 days notice to cancel(why?? it’s a gym), I can’t cancel until I catch up on my membership fees(for time I haven’t been using the gym), and if I don’t pay, they will send it to collections(for a gym membership?) in an attempt to strongarm you into paying. In my opinion, slimy business practices. Absolutely no feeling of mutual agreement/benefit more like underhandedly attempting to keep their hand in your pocket and using the threat of your credit to force you to pay. I know most corporate businesses are like this, but it gets me heated.

If I could give this gym a 9/10 I would. Price-price is a bit high, but that’s expected for a 24/7 gym with half decent equipment Equipment-6 squat racks, 4 flat and 3 incline benches, 4 areas to deadlift and good cable and iso machines, nice Crowd-college kids obviously, week days from 4-10 busy, but not nearly as bad as msu gyms Staff-this is the only area I really have a problem besides the gym being kind of crowded (not really fixable unless you raise price so I’m ok with it) the gym is occasionally dirty and the new bathroom in the added additional is usually dirty (at least the men’s bathroom don’t really know about the women’s) also there are usually wipes and empty water bottles scattered. Other than that haven’t had a problem with unfriendly staff or anything I would recommend to anyone who has the money and is serious enough about working out to front the money

RAJENDRA PRASATH

DO NOT JOIN HERE!! If you are MSU student. Better join the university gym. It’s equally crowded and expensive then university gym. Some Staffs are not friendly. They don’t explain you the policy clearly. Do not sign policy sheet if the dates are not filled.

Tim Higgins

The gym is ALWAYS dirty, no one puts their weights back, and the staff is lazy and border-line incompetent. When I tried to get a refund for a charge that was their error, I had to call multiple times and got nowhere! No one called me back and tried to help me fix this issue. Had I not spoken with management they would still be charging me for a cancelled membership! The only thing good about this gym is it is big with diverse equipment, but the staff and general clientele (college students) are HORRIBLE!

The new equipment was worth the investment. Lots of parking and a great location. Staff are willing to help answer your questions anytime you go up to them and ask for help. Would be nice to see them get some different group classes. But that will also come in time. Good place to focus on your goals and great personal trainers.

I've been going to this gym for two years now as a regular member. I like the equipment selection and the recent expansion has been great to accommodate the large crowds and that is the only reason I give it two stars. I'm writing this review in hopes that the management sees this and gets their stuff together. The management is ridiculously lazy it is unreal. I don't know how you can just not care this much. They have these wet wipe stations on the walls in only half of the gym and they are ALWAYS empty. The only wipe down items they provide otherwise are like 3 spray bottles with a soggy rag in the whole gym that you can tell is not changed out for more than a day. The bathroom soap is rarely filled. Things that take 5 minutes maybe two times a day is not asking much at all especially when it comes to one of the most important qualities of a gym. The management is never occupied either always shooting the shat behind the counter. I've never been to even close to an uncleanly gym as this is. They just installed a water bottle dispenser about 2 months ago and a month ago the filter went red and gave the maintenence message and to this day it is still unchanged. Such a simple maintenance fix once again ignored. This gym really needs to step up with the cleanliness because it is ridiculous.

Jared T

Absolutely love the Powerhouse in East Lansing. BUT it comes with one big sacrifice - CLEANLINESS!. I list the good and bad so if you want an in-depth review read it all to see why I’ve gone here for 4 years. More so I’ve written this to see if management will do something but that’s highly unlikely. Quick Review: Cleanliness: -2/5 (never done) Equipment: 7/5 (they have everything and more and you won't find another gym as well equipped in the entire country) Equipment maintenance: 0/5 (if it breaks - too bad) Staff: 2/5 (always friendly, but they don't do anything) In-depth: Issue #1: Cleanliness. -2/5 stars. By far their biggest issue. Their idea of cleaning is vacuuming the floors and that’s it. IT HAS BEEN 3 WEEKS SINCE THEY CLEANED THE URINALS. They are literally COVERED IN ORANGE FILTH/MOLD in the inside. The mirrors (which there are a lot of) are never clean and in the rare chance they are cleaned they have streaks and smudges blurring the mirror. You’ll notice while squatting all you can see is other people’s spit and not yourself. Trash, paper towels, empty water bottles, and empty cleaning bottles are found in the corners. In the past two weeks I have found 1 bottle to clean benches and haven’t seen it in a few days. This also means none of the equipment ever gets a once over. The barbells, dumbbells, anything your hand grips for the weights or machines has easily never been cleaned. My hands have turned black from using some of the equipment and even had a tobacco tar like substance from the equipment I could not wash off my hand last week. Powerhouse - the bathrooms should be cleaned twice daily and all the equipment should be cleaned daily - WHAT ARE YOU DOING! Overall, it’s appalling and I’ve brought this up to them multiple times in customer surveys and there has been no visible change. Mind you they have 2-3 people behind the counter talking at all times. Yes, some are trainers but it’s extremely unprofessional to chat like that when there’s so much work to be done at this place. I had to ask for towels to clean a mirror myself because it was disgusting and that is the only time I have seen someone from behind the counter clean (as they insisted on doing it) but it should never come to that point! Issue #2: Broken Equipment. This is the problem - they don’t maintain anything. The 50 lb straight barbell has been broken for maybe a year at this point but is still left out for people to use. They have 3 machines you use for pull downs and rope work that had been broken for 2-3 weeks which left 2 operational until today when 2 were fixed. There’s some more equipment that needs some work like the "new" seated calf machine so I’m sure I’m forgetting more. The reasons I have been going here for 4 years: They are extremely well equipped after their expansion. For bodybuilding they are by far the best gym I’ve been to. There are 6 squat stations, 3 deadlift, 3 barbell flat-benches, 3 inclined, and 1 decline. There are 3 full dumbbell weight racks with loads of benches to use. They have straight and EZ barbell weights that go up to 100lbs. All in all - they have heavier weights than places like planet fitness and you almost never have to wait for equipment like you do at the on-campus gyms (obviously peak hours are different). With their expansion they are also now extremely well equipped for cardio and weight loss goals. They have a surprising quantity and variety of cardio equipment that you won’t find at most gyms. In addition to treadmills and ellipticals - they have a lot of bikes and ergs for rowing, stair climbers and a ladder machine. In the end my best description of this place is that someone with a passion for bodybuilding decided to open a gym but has never maintained or cleaned anything in their life so they just let it sit and “run its self”. They hired employees who won't clean. I feel like this gym could be one of Powerhouse’s prized franchises but it’s not held to any quality standard just quantity.

To busy. Not enough ab machines, if a gym is busy like this one there should be doubles of each machines. That's how they do it all the other busy gyms why not here?

Kirk Cavell

Alex Ball

Pros: decent variety of equipment, open 24 hours. Cons: This gym is disgusting. It is always dirty and you will see the same nasty dirt/dust buildups by machines for weeks (at least) before its gone. The whole time I was at this gym I only saw anyone clean it once and it didn't look like they put much effort. There is often no soap in the men's bathroom. I've worked out at a bunch of gyms and this one is easily the grossest one I've ever been to. I guess they don't care since it's mostly college students and they will pay regardless. Next con is this gym is usually pretty packed during regular hours but if you go early morning or late night it's good. This gym would be so much nicer if they just kept it clean. If that's not a big deal for you then it's a decent gym.

Kevin Carlson

Seriously, with the sheer amount of cash this gym must be pulling in from the constant influx of students you would think they could invest a little in cleanliness or in employees willing to clean instead of chat behind the counter. Stuff takes weeks to get fixed, the bathrooms never have soap or paper towels, and all the barbells and dumbbells have likely never been cleaned-they leave your hands feeling ridiculously gross and tacky after using them. It's really dissapointing that they don't care about the customers, only their cash, since they do have a good amount of equipment

Convenient parking/location and all new equipment throughout! A great gym.

Powerhouse is awesome. The environment is great, folks are friendly, the staff is cool, and the equipment is always top notch.

Ryan J

Powerhouse East Lansing is a decent gym that could be a great gym. As a beginner trying to build muscle and lose a bit of weight, I'm more than satisfied with the equipment selection and nonstop hours of operation. As other reviewers have pointed out, hygiene and care-taking at Powerhouse are next to nonexistent. While I haven't been much bothered about the upkeep or lack thereof, I can easily understand others' complaints. The locker rooms are not maintained, with days passing between soap and paper towel refills. On the gym floor, I've only spotted wipe-down supplies once or twice. Staff and management need to adjust their routines and actually start maintaining their property.

Brice Dolbee

I think the gym is good and has good equipment. I spent a lot of time with buddies this year trying to find a place to workout, everyone else ended up going to planet fitness because it's cheaper and that's true... However, I decided to stay at powerhouse because the equipment for serious lifters is way better than IM facilities and planet fitness. Also the atmosphere is great here. Everyone that goes is serious about bettering themselves no matter if your a beginner or a body builder. People are nice and helpful. About the fees other people are talking about I have heard of it happening but it's never happens to me I paid my upfront fee and it's been a steady 20 a month since. For better or worse I'm now a lifer at powerhouse. *lifer- commited for life*

Great space, lots of equipment, friendly staff. It can get a little busy at times of the day but for the most part I always have access to what I need; including free weights and cardio machines

Great atmosphere excellent equipment couldn't ask for a better gym

Way too cramped. Trying to do any of the main lifts here is an exercise is one's patience. You can easily spend 10+ minutes waiting unless you don't mind working in with others. I usually encountered this between 7-10pm. The men's bathroom smelled funny every time I used it. I wouldn't shower here. Staff was nice. Parking was easy. It's located nearby MSU, which was very convenient. I would definitely take advantage of their guest pass to see if this gym is for you.

Lee Latella

Very busy and very dirty. Feel like I could get very sick here...

Jeremy Seaton

I love the fact that you guys are constantly looking to provide varied and high quality equipment to your patrons. It really means a lot.

Andre Bueno

Love this gym. Excellent management and the atmosphere is great. This is the best gym in the greater Lansing area, in my opinion.

Kaitlin Braunschweig

It goes without saying that powerhouse has one of the better facilities in the area in terms of equipment. However, the facilities are extremely dirty, specifically the women’s locker room and the drinking fountains. The drinking fountain has something green growing in it, protein powder caked in the drain, and overall does not have the appearance of it being cared for. Very disappointing.

G R Turner

As an employee for the last ten years, I've seen it all from this establishment. The good, the bad, the complaints and the praise. None of it reflects on my work personally, to me. They cater to the general public as well as the student population. The newly added +6k square footage was due and has turned out great. Praise to the Dabish family and the current staff in their efforts to make it a respectable establishment.

Athena

I love the gym and l have been a member for about 2 years. Open 24 hours and lots of parking. We used to have a rowing machine which is my favorite, but it wasn't there these days when I went to work out. Can we get it back? Thank you!

Eric Berg

Great gym! Staff is friendly, fun atmosphere, lots of space

Jared Appel

The facility is very clean and well maintained. The range of machines and weights available is amazing. Location is pretty great being right next to a GNC. Never have a lack of drive when there. I enjoy the non competitive environment.

Cori Tymoszek

The remodel has been SO GOOD. It feels like a classy, modern gym now. I'm so glad the weight area is much bigger. Basically I'm in love, every time I go to work out I'm actually excited about it. All the staff are super helpful and always greet members when you arrive/leave. Also, there are a couple little things that I just want to shout out because they might not be widely utilized but I personally appreciate them so much: - The extra barbell that floats around the power racks/squat racks - The dumbbells closest to the turf area that have 2.5lb increments (life changing) - The one secret set of 15lb bumper plates - The Cybex Sparc machines (also life changing) Thank you so much for all the recent changes. This used to be an okay gym and I just went because it was better than campus and cheaper than the MAC. Now it's legitimately the best gym in EL.

Holly Drankhan

I have been a member for over a year now and while I appreciate the 24 hour access, parking, etc., I have become extremely disappointed. While at a workout class today, a member who claimed to be an employee actually swore and yelled at the fitness instructor which was extremely unprofessional and made me contemplate cancelling my membership. When I ask the employees at the front desk to refill soap in the bathroom, fix bottles of disinfectant, etc. they never do. What am I paying for? Now the gym is so busy you cannot even find space to work out, and no gym etiquette is enforced (put back weights, clean benches, etc.). Just saying that the gym will be remodeled with more space is unacceptable. The space you have needs to accommodate your members now or we will go somewhere else. Please address some of these issues internally or I will continue to discourage membership when asked about my experience with powerhouse.

STAY AWAY from Powerhouse East Lansing! It is a scum bucket of a gym that has terrible customer service, is always incredibly packed and is always disgustingly dirty. I went in there today to go cancel my menbership. However, this process was FAR from simple. I went in and asked to speak with a manager to cancel and they said they couldn't help me because he wasnt there. I told them I just wanted to cancel and they told me I'd have to make a "30 cancel request" in order to cancel and then they'd leave my number for the manager to call me back and work out a time that I could come BACK in to discuss this matter with them. I told them NO I AM CANCELLING TODAY! They made me come back later for a second time to speak with a manager about what should have been a simple cancelation. I then found out that I was being charged for an additional 30 days AND an anual fee for this upcoming year (which I will not be a member for). The manager then told me that he "couldn't" waive it for me becuase it was too much of a "pain in the butt" and that it would make him look like an "a$$hole" to corperate for doing it for me and not everyone else. He told me if i didn't want to pay that I should just call my bank and have them cancel the monthly fee because otherwise he'd have to contact corporate to refund me. His reason for not doing it right there on the spot was that he "didnt have the computers that were able to do that". I told him how displeased I have been with his gym since the beginning and how I never can get help from anyone there. He just argued with me and blamed it on his "college kid staffing". The BIGGEST complaint I have about this gym is that if I need help with my account, they make me COME BACK IN AROUND THEIR SCHEDULE! I litterally have to go home and come back when THEY ARE AVAILABLE!!! I'm sorry but a 24 hr gym is USELESS if i can't get quality service from them during normal buisness hours! I have been to many gyms and this one is BY FAR the worst! The staff aren't helpful and just sit behind the counter and chat with eachother instead of provide quality customer service. Their rates are not worth the variety in equipment becuase the place is SO PACKED YOU CAN'T USE THE EQUIPMENT ANYWAYS! The atmosphere there is terrible and trying to find a parking spot is next to impossible. I've never been so disappointed, frusterated, and agrivated by a gym in my life. ALSO.....when going into the women's locker rooms, I often find myself running into men in there cleaning during daytime hours instead of one of the girls at the front desk who are sitting up there on their phones. Makes no sense. I can't imagine "corperate" would approve of how this gym is run. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!

I have used this gym for a year and a half now, this is an updated review of the main factors of a gym. CONS: CLEANLINESS- This gym is never cleaned. Equipment (benches, dumbbells, bars) is sticky with sweat because nothing is ever wiped down by the staff. The bathrooms are cluttered with bits of trash and soggy paper towels on the sink and floor, mirrors are covered in water spots of whatever substance. Toilets are filthy and covered in mildew. Drinking fountains are dirty with various supplements (protein/preworkout) as well as mildew. Dust, dirt and hair is CAKED in between the machinery because only the open floor is vacuumed. Visitors rarely wipe down their equipment after use. There are 4 spray bottles, with a wash cloth each, scattered around the gym to wipe equipment off with. They are NOT changed throughout the day and are filthy. STAFF- Half the staff is nice, the other half is rude. Lots of staff working usually, sometimes 3 or 4 at a time, and they're all standing behind the counter chit-chatting. The blonde employee that sits at the desk is as rude as can be. Also minor cons, this gym is a bit over-priced and is usually always busy. Waiting for equipment is to be expected PROS: Good gym equipment, lots of machines (benches incline and incline, one decline bench, power racks, deadlift platforms. 3 sets of dumbbell racks). Member card entry for 24/7 access. In conclusion, I would go anywhere else if they had a parallel weight selection.

This gym use to be about a 4 star gym for the fact that it was never too busy, and somewhat clean. Turns out that while they have purchased new equipment it might be for the fact that they just don't want to clean the old equipment. The place has absolutely 100% lost it, there is so many people they have let join and your lucky to get a decent workout in, it's basically turned into IM east in my opinion. Not to mention the biggest reason this place is complete garbage now is the fact that they don't even let their members barrow a towel to use so they don't sweat all over the machines, and not once have I ever seen an employee cleaning anything. I use to recommend this place to people but after the whole towel thing recently, I'd rather not let my friends get an infection for how nasty this place probably is.

Ahmed Altairy

Old equipment, the workers lie about rates (say they are from "corporate, and these are special rates"), IM centers are better however they do not offer parking before 6.

Powerhouse was okay at first but recently it has been ridiculously busy at all times. They will also will charge you 30-40 on top of your payment randomly for equipment and a "lightbulb charge", whatever that means. I went in today to cancel my membership that I can't afford and they told me I can't cancel because I'm under a year contract (meaning I have to pay over the summer when I will be home from college and not able to go) that I was never told about when I initially signed up a few months ago. Basically a gym that takes advantage of broke college students, but if you like waiting 15+ minutes to use any machine and also aren't broke like most college students are, then I would recommend.

Kevin Schuett

Canceling your account here is a nightmare. They lost my cancellation form and management pretended to out of office or unavailable every time I tried to solve the issue. For this reason they kept pulling money from me for a membership that I personally canceled. Very unprofessional

Matt Rayis

terrible customer service

Josiah Huisman

This place scams you out of your money. The Air Force taught me to always read a whole contract before signing it. I made the mistake and didn't do that here. Now I'm stuck paying 30 dollars a month when I was promised 20 a month plus additional "annual membership fees" of $50 more. Can't get out for another 8 months.

Mollie Mfodwo

This gym is great when it comes to convenience, 24/7 hours and across from MSU are awesome perks. However, I’ve never been to a gym with this level of dirtiness in my life. My husband also goes here and he’s barely goes anymore because of the dirtiness of equipment. The women’s locker rooms are absolutely disgusting. I go 5 days a week, at the same time and see the same scum and empty bottles left in the showers, no toilet paper or paper towels and trash/feminine products all over the floor. The equipment is also dirty and several of the cardio machines (including two treadmills) are out of service and have been for weeks with no sign or indication of getting fixed. You would think (hope) that a business that gets this much traffic and high monthly rate would at least, at the very minimum, keep their facility clean. I’ve talked to several other members who have the same complaints and feel that they get nothing accomplished speaking to staff. Myself and most of these members plan on leaving because of this when our contracts are up. I would talk to a staff member myself but have yet to see one in-person because of the early hour I go to the gym. I’m hoping something is done about this.

Drew Roth

Powerhouse is definitely the best option for working out in the East Lansing area. The members all take their fitness seriously which is really motivating. They also recently replaced all the machines and free weights so all the equipment is in great shape.

Miguel Prieto

Peter Fu

The female employee work at the front desk is extremely rude. It’s my last month membership, bye!

David Shineldecker

This gym bills you for things never mentioned in your contract. "Light Bulb Fee" $50.00? What a joke. Management are some of the most rude people I have ever had the displeasure of interacting with. Completely contradictory and disorganized. Let's just say, "customer service" is not in their vocabulary.

chad bowersox

Probably the worst gym you could go to. You pay $30 a month plus a $70 annual fee for a gym that is never clean. Don't expect to be able to wash your hands or go to the bathroom because there is never any toilet paper or paper towel. The gym is always packed and at best will have an average wait of 10 minutes for the equipment you want to use. I will personally Venmo anyone who has actual footage of a worker cleaning that place.

Justin Cornwell

Way too packed, even at non-peak times. I've given up on waiting for equipment to be available multiple times now. The price is good, but if you can't even get your work out in, what's the point?

Their promotions and advertisements can be a little misleading. They'll tell you there is a 49 dollar sighn up fee with a monthly rate of 35 dollars. But its alot more expensive than that. they have a 49 dollar "activation fee" and expect you to pay 2 months in advance; so thats nearly 160 dollars to sighnup. Every November they also have a 40 dollar annual fee which they don't tell you at all about. I'm guessing this is so that they can get extra cash from new students going to MSU. Their facilities are Ok; they have a little bit more equipment than IM WEST but their locker rooms are awfuly disgusting. I'm going to be canceling my membership soon, I paid almost 250 dollars this semester and I rather just give IM west my 85 dollars and not deal with all this shenanigans

tkavalanche24

They are con and scam artists, they bill you for things they never tell you about and bill the month after you cancel your membership, I feel like that's their plan to get extra money out of people, otherwise they'd keep the money if the ex member doesn't call to get their money back. Also their paperwork system is an abyss and whatever input goes in never comes back out. Ive had about three occasions where i was entered into the system to be called back or emailed back and I never received anything. On top of that the locker room is dirty and smells repulsive. Also there are numerous leaks in the roof so whenever it rains or snow melts, it drips everywhere and the place gets uncomfortably humid and the windows steam up. The equipment is okay, the only good thing about the gym is that it's empty a lot, I wonder why.

Aaron Kavanagh

Lots of newer equipment and benches but you'll your cardio workout just trying to find the weights you need to complete your workout. Nobody puts weights away when they finish, they just leave them on the bars and machines. Spent half my time looking for weights and trying to figure out which benches were being used. Staff never left the counter area except the guy who got on a treadmill with a girl. The locker room was dirty but I wouldn't care if I could get a workout in. Definitely won't come to this powerhouse again. I'll stick to the Powerhouse in Clinton Township and pay the daily rate somewhere else if I travel to Lansing again.

Robert Wilson

I like powerhouse gym good place to workout in and I am a member to and I glad I am because I been a fun of this place powerhouse gym is awesome

Yuan Chen

Luiz Figueira

When you enroll, you always talk to someone who is "visiting from corporate" and are allowed to cut you "a great deal", when in reality you are paying a premium price for a below average gym. The equipment is really old (probably from the 1970s) and rusty and you always feel water (I hope it's water) drops on your head from the multiple ceiling leaks.

Jake Przybyla

Just okay. I will say it is your best option if you want free weights in East Lansing but that doesn't mean it is the best gym I've been to...not by a long shot. Pros: -lots of free weights -open 24/7 now (was not when I was in college) -will be expanding their space -lots of parking Cons: -It just looks worn out and run down currently. -It's gross almost everywhere. Everyone sweats I get it, but there have been more times than I can count when there are no disinfectant bottles anywhere. Or there might be one but when you try to use it you find out the sprayer doesn't work. I have passive-agressively brought the broken or empty ones up to the counter and left them there hoping they get the hint. -the dumbbells and fixed-weight barbells are FALLING APART. They are extremely loose and wobbly. Feels like they might fall off the end right onto your face. I am convinced that it is only a matter of time until they have a lawsuit on their hands. This may be because you have a ton of muscle guys in this gym who think it's cool to drop the weights after a set so they make sure everyone knows just how difficult what that set was and how heavy those weights were...the louder the boom the better. -speaking only for the mens' side: the locker rooms are also gross and falling apart. The single toilet wobbles more than the weights do. There is also only a single shower. There is a bench missing with holes in the ground where it should be instead for you to trip over. There is almost never paper towel in stock. There have been multiple occasions where there is no soap in any of the dispensers. The list goes on. I don't know if this is because the employees are lazy, the management is lazy, or if there is just complete disregard for hygeine here (I lean toward the latter). I expect any gym to make sure the facilities are stocked on a daily basis but this is most assuredly not the case here. -i have not once seen the fans on. Maybe this has to do with the time of day I work out (6 am), but I have been there a few times after work too and never seen them running. If this is because the management thinks people want it to be hot so they sweat more, just stop. I can only take off so much clothing. If people want to sweat they can wear extra clothing... in fact they make clothing for that: it begins with the word sweat. But again, maybe this is because there are a ton of muscle guys who want to be able to wear string tanks and still sweat their asses off all over the equipment I want to use but can't sanitize after they leave their sweatprints on it. I'd give it two stars if EL had a better option but it doesn't. I'm hoping the renovations they have planned motivate better care for their facilities otherwise I may just end up saving the money I spend each month and buy my own set of weights for the basement.

Steve and the management at this club were very accommodating while setting up my sons membership. My son was new to campus so Steve took the time to call me to make sure I was comfortable with the terms of the membership, and fully explained what the club had to offer. Look Steve up when you go into the club he will take great care of you!

Horrible customer service, overcrowded, equipment stays broken for months on end while the workers there put a sign on it and stand around and do what I can only describe as, as little as possible. If they're making over minimum wage then they are grossly overpaid. If you have time to lean you have time to clean you lazy asses.

The gym is spacious, clean, and has a lot of free weights. Its pretty high quality for what you pay.

There's some hidden fees unless you read the full contract. It's like singing a lease for a house. but overall it's a good gym and is filled with nice people. Definitely would recommend.

Overrated and overpriced. Tried to cancel over the phone, but was told I had to come in to cancel. When I did cancel, I ended up still being charged for the next month and they had to refund it. Staff saw this review and called, but they seemed to be more concerned about their ratings than your concerns. Spend your money elsewhere.

Everything is Great but there is one slight problem. We used to have a rowing machine but it's just not there anymore. Can we please get it back?

Adan Moreno

Awesome gym. Has all the machines you need, great gym etiquette, and people in the front are extremely friendly.

Great gym. Lots of equipment and recent expansion. Best time to work out is early am hours.

Good gym. A little pricey. Can also be busy with students during the school year.

Hidden yearly fees, and expensive buy-in. Anytime fitness would be a better value

The gym is just plain unclean. The floors are gross and never mopped. If you put anything on the ground or on a mat it comes back up dirty. I've never seen the staff clean, just vacuum lightly. Equipment is not cleaned after use, not because members don't want to but because there is maybe 2-3 spray bottles in the entire gym and none of the sanitation wipes are refilled. Also there is no enforcement to clean up after yourself. The foam rollers and mats are all gross and unsanitary. The locker rooms are dated and bathrooms are beat up. For $30 a month, it's just not in an acceptable condition. So why do I keep my membership?Powerhouse is open 24/7 and is probably one of the only gyms in EL with all the weightlifting equipment you want. That's really it. They understand the business position they are in and don't care to deliver a clean nice customer experience. I get that it's mostly college kids working our and running the place but come on.
