REVIEWS OF Planet Rock IN Michigan

Mary Grettenberger

This is the best place for fun and exercise. Family friendly. They sell quality merchandise. They enforce safe climbing. You can rent equipment. Lots of low and wiper high climbs. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and are ALWAYS willing to help. We had about 60 people in our group and they allowed us to use an empty room. Inexpensive for what you are getting.

mothebad

Great gym, helpful staff, lots of available equipment

Logan Shelagowski

Great variety of bouldering, top rope and lead climbs.

Thor Sigurdson

Love this place!

Tina Sanders

Such a fun place. The experience was great.

Mark Iagulli

Love the walls! Awesome building! Staff was friendly! I drive in from Toledo, Ohio for this experience!

Ryan Danko

Need to update the hours on their door and improve their interior logistics

Simon Nov

Great place to climb and just enjoy a day off with some friends.

Evan Adams

Great place to practice rock climbing. Always friendly staff.

Karen

We’ve been a handful of times! It’s always a great time! If you are new to rock climbing they teach you the basics.

Jonathan Pal

Really love this place. It's giant and it has a diverse set of climbs and scales. I need to get in there more often.

Nicolas Napoleone

I mainly boulder, their bouldering room is awesome and changes up every 3 weeks or so. Even when it's busy, collaborating with people on a problem is a blast and everyone there is super nice and just wants to watch people climb.

Tim Cocking

The staff is very friendly. More so than at Madison Heights. The lead/top rope climbing is better here but the bouldering is better at Madison Heights.

Wyatt Flynn

Incredible gym awesome staff

Tim Grzadzinski

Great place to go for climbing, both on ropes and bouldering.

Daniel Chrzanowski

Nice bouldering area. It's unfortunate they make you pass a belay test even if you just want to boulder. This has prevented some of my friends from checking this place out.

Jeff Camp

Love this gym! My daughter and I go as much as we can. Either Ann Arbor or Madison Heights and we have always found the staff super friendly and helpful! Not sure what all the reviews are about but we are avid climbers and I don't I have ever run into a non helpful and mean climber haha

Troy Huggett

Contrary to many of the reviews here, I found the staff to be eager to assist in all areas - on the phone and in person, during our registration, instruction, and climb - and they did a great job with my beginner group. I was very pleased with the facility and the staff. Don't let the negative reviews scare you off! Go experience this great facility!

Christopher Dagostino

They are constantly changing the routes so you will never be bored

Ross Reid

Instructors ensure you have a good understanding of the rules and equipment making this a great place for first timers to learn. The equipment is serviced, the runs range from easy to hard, there are auto-belays and plenty of area to boulder.

Becky Wheeler

Fun physical activity to do with the whole family. Really enjoyed the experience of learning safely how to have fun as we climbed to the ceiling

Karigan Nash

I started climbing at this gym many years ago, and have always have a good experience. The facility is as clean as possible, which is amazing considering almost everyone has an open bag of chalk. The staff has always been friendly and knowledgeable. They're almost always busy at the gym, so be patient and wait your turn! They only way I was comfortable transitioning to outdoor climbing was because of all of the answers they were able to provide to me. They have a good gear selection, and price match, but it isn't always easy to get items, depending on the time of year. However, any time I've dealt with their "sales staff" to purchase gear, I never felt they were just trying to sell me the most expensive items. They listened to what I was looking for, and helped find the gear to match my needs the best. The routes at the gym have a good variety, and they have bouldering, top rope, lead climbing, and auto-belays to choose from. I'd say about once a week or every other week they close off a small section and put up new routes, so there's always something new to try.

Marco Castellanos Dupuy

Excellent facilities for Bouldering, nice variety of surfaces to climb on. A small negative point is that there are not many easy boulders for beginners to feel comfortable... i.e. newcomers not very fit and/or afraid of heights will only have a couple boulders to try :/

Alden Carlson

Great rock climbing experience

Jixuan Cheng

Best

Sam Diller

BEST CLIMBING GYM I HAVE EVER BEEN TO

360 MAGAZINE

The best and only climbing wall institution in the neighborhood.

sockeye bob

we love planet rock. Great work out and friendly staff

Kelsey Raver

The new boulder room is pretty epic

John Hall

I had a couple of hours to visit PR with my son when visiting him in A2. I hadn’t climbed in awhile and needed to take the training class. No problem, was assured it would take 35-40 minutes when we called ahead. The reality was that it took more than 2 hours when we visited on 10-6-2019 for the 10:30 class. I ran out of time and could not complete the test. I totally understand the importance of training but was disappointed nonetheless.

Kyle Meyer

Friendly staff and an ever-expanding facility. Have climbed here for several years now and the place keeps getting better.

Courtney Snell

Awesome staff and vibe.

Wally Walls

This place is awesome. You can earn yourself an amazing work out. It’s a total break from the flat terrain we normally deal with. I feel like cliff hanger in here. It’s so much fun and the alternative work out benefits are fantastic.

Benjamin Koester

One of our favorite family activities. We spend a couple of hours here a week with our 5 year old and 7 year old.

Christopher Rockwell

Great walls and routes

Kevin Cheng

Fun place. Prices are fair and staff are nice.

gozzi809

It has nice walls but the people that work there are really horrible to novices. Convinced the people I was with to never climb again. Totally ruined there confidence. I guess they didn't remember what it was like to be new at it. If the facility wasn't nice I would have given it a 1 star.

aaron mayberry

Fun, not too expensive. If it's your first time, you go through an hour long class. Staff is VERY friendly.

Laura Orullian

I am sad to have to leave a negative review on a local climbing gym. My husband and I were visiting from out of town and were really excited to get to visit a new climbing gym. Sadly, our experience was disappointing. The staff was very unwelcoming and seemed like they didn’t want to be there. We arrived an hour and half before close, paid full price for the day pass, and were told 15 minutes til 10 that it was the last climb of the night. It was surprising to not be able to climb until the posted closing time. One of the staff members began vacuuming 30 minutes before close and at one point was vacuuming right up to my feet. I found it to be extremely rude and unprofessional.

Michael Kman

Cool place with fun activities

Allan Magsig

Great fun.

Faith Ohio

Really neat place to visit. Great for kid's to burn off energy on a rainy day.

Alex Garrett

This place is great. They have a wide variety of different walls with a variety of difficulty levels for anyone from the newest climbers to experienced professionals. They even have automatic balay systems for people who either don't have someone to balay them or don't trust their friends not to drop them to their doom.

Jessica Bentley

You can boulder, climb with a belay or climb with an auto belay. You can rent equipment. You have to take a class on your first visit, but there are free refresher classes.

Chrissy Grzadzinski

Great local place for indoor climbing/ bouldering. Gear, resources, clothing and staff is available to help for any questions related to buying gear or gym to crag. Madison heights location has more classes/resources available to their members than Ann Arbor location - waiting for that to change; especially gym to crag, cleaning, multi pitch, etc. Lots of kids classes and different events - flash light climbing! - that are awesome.

Glenn Sullivan

Awesome gym! Great mixture of bouldering and top roping, and they change the routes at a good rate too. Also the staff is really really nice and welcoming!

Kai Böttcher

You gotta love it. Awesome staff!

stephanea hignight

One of the best rock gyms I have ever been to

Danielle Muncie

AMAZING!!!! So much fun! And suuuch friendly people who work there!

Alex Hall

Went climbing with a few buddies for the first time here in November when they let members bring a guest for free. I was very impressed with the size of the facility and selection of routes. It is certainly geared towards more advanced climbers but I managed to hold my own on a number of moderately challenging climbs. Prices are on the high end so plan to stay until your forearms turn to jello to get your money's worth.

Kathryn Michels

This is a very nice facility. I am a new climber and am very happy with the wide variety of bouldering routes that are at my level. The staff are nice enough, but are easily distracted by socializing with each other and are noticeably annoyed when you ask them for something. To be fair, their most important jobs are safety, gear maintenance, and good course construction (not retail sales) and they do that well, so whatever.

Renee Casey

It was kind of intimidating when I first got there but the staff was super sweet and helpful! I took a class there and the instructor took extra time with each student to make sure we got it! The climbing was awesome, even just the easy courses are really empowering! I encourage you to take your family and friends here you won't regret it!!!

Derick Roulain

This place is alot of fun we had a great instructor, however being new I was climbing on one of the auto belay systems and when I was done hooked it in wrong and didn’t know that I did the lady staff member running the birthday party at 3:00 started screaming at me about how I hooked it in wrong and to “ GO FIX IT” I obviously not knowing what I did wrong being a newbie looked puzzled... her attitude was totally uncalled for and pretty much ruined the rest of my experience alot of the staff seemed to have this elitist attitude like we should all just know everything I wouldn’t come back based on that alone people in Texas are alot friendlier so I’ll keep my climbing at home.

Austin Carter

Often extremely crowded. Full parking lot. But pretty good inside. Nice that they regularly change the routes

Cris Garcia

THE BEST GYM. Staff has always been superb. Foutes are always fun and flow well, good range of grades for everyone, lead routes are amazing!

A

This is, hands down, the worst rock gym I've ever been to. Staff are quite rude. Customer service here is a joke. The equipment in several instances has been worn and in need of replacement. Routes are underrated at most levels and reflect the level of inexperience that permeates the entire facility. Children are allowed to climb and roam unattended and this is an added safety concern. For seasoned climbers this all may be of less consequence. However, if you are new to climbing, you should seriously consider the competence and professionalism (or lack thereof) of this staff when considering putting your personal safety in their trust.

heather cochran

Bouldering is a great workout, and my daughter lives the kids class

Alistair Smith

The walls and routes are great, but the staff leaves a lot to be desired. They are fairly unwilling to work with beginners, and when they finally interact with a customer, some of the staff act very annoyed and inconvenienced. Sadly, this seems to be a trait of a lot of climbing staff. Cool gym though.

Matthew Remington

Great staff. Great courses and equipment.

Laura Gultekin

Thank you PR staff! My son recently turned 14 and was eager to learn to belay. After completing the training and successfully serving as my belay, we returned for another visit today. He was a little nervous, and made an error in his technique, just as I slipped from the wall, causing me to fall several feet to the floor. PR staff responded immediately, assessing my well being and making sure he had the appropriate training and skill set. He was really shook up, and the staff member (Casey, I think) quickly reassessed and allowed me to give my son redirection. She stepped back, and 2 other staff members stepped up, standing quietly nearby, so I could see they were there to monitor my son’s technique without being so close that he felt incompetent. My son then was able to successfully belay me, and he was unaware they were monitoring him so closely until they gave him kudos for a successful belay. I was so impressed that they handled the situation in a way that didn’t crush his confidence, but ensured that I was safe. Thank you Planet Rock for promoting safety and not crushing a young learner’s confidence!

Kayla Graham

This climbing gym has great bouldering and belay areas that are updated frequently to keep you on your toes. The employees are well informed and friendly. It's an all around great climbing gym.

Carrie Wojciechowski

Welcoming staff

Roy Geffen

Staff is very unwelcoming. The place looks great but the staff is very rude. I arrived for the first time almost an hour before close, there were about 7 employees sitting at the counter doing nothing, they let me fill up all the forms and then told me I cant go inside. When I asked why they were actually mad at me for arriving BEFORE close. That's not how you treat customers. Definitely not coming back.

Andy Chen

great place, great people, great place to start. It be nice if they can renovate to look like the one in Madison tho!

Avik Mondal

Nice staff, good climbing options

Nova Xera

Had so much fun trying something new. My instructor was Francisco, who was super friendly making the entire experience approachable for a beginner like me. I have been back a handful of times and intend to buy my own gear soon. Who knew I’d love climbing so much?

Andrew Harrington

After getting over the initial nerves I had an absolute blast! We had an excellent instructor and I can't wait to go back!

Eric Gonzalez

Edit: I had a bad experience with one employee, but I ended up going back and meeting much nicer people. My fault for judging the entire place based on one bad experience. The prices are expensive but it'd a decent place, hopefully with the upcoming expansion it will be more worth what they are charging.

Aryanna Foster

was here for the first time friday, never been climbing before seriously before only for fun but i took the belay class and everyone was so nice and welcoming. such a judgement free zone and very knowledgeable for a first timer. for the belay class they will repeat it a million times if needed they just want to make sure your safe and know what your doing.

Deep Singh

Lot of fun. Kids and adults love it.

Lauren Brock

I little on the expensive side for day passes, but really love this rock gym. Staff is friendly and laid back.

jordan meyers

I have come here two different times and both times we're a blast the first I was kind of just trying to get the feel of the place and it was my first time climbing other than at my local YMCA and their wall is only twenty feet high. Planet rock has some 60 foot walls so it's a bit more extreme. They also have a lot of space dedicated to free climbing where the highest you'll get is between twelve and fifteen feet. The second time I went we only did free climbing and this was a blast I have more fun free climbing than I do when I climb with ropes. I highly suggest coming here if you enjoy adventurous activities.

Daniel Gu

Good place to climb in the area, prices are fairly average. Does get busy during the evenings, so I'd advise going at earlier times if you want to get a lot of climbing in. The reason I only rate 2 stars is that when it gets busy, the amount of people bouldering kicks up a lot of the chalk dust (from hands clapping, people jumping down onto the mats) into the air, so much so that entering the area from the main lobby you can visibly see the chalk haze. I didn't think it was too bad until I realized 30min in that I felt it was difficult to breathe. Left the area and got some clean air and instantly felt 10x better, but was coughing up that chalk dust for the rest of the night. There definitely needs to be at minimum some sort of ventilation in there to cycle the air (even some box fans will do), but air filters would also be great. I don't plan on ever bouldering during busy times here again purely due to the health hazard it poses.

Christopher A

Not as good as the one in Maddison Heights. I question what my membership is paying for when I routinely see 4-6 staff members chilling behind the counter and none of them servicing customers or cleaning.

Aidan Blum

I can't believe how fun this place is easy class and get started climbing!

Ellis Hershkowitz

If you want to just get a day pass and boulder they require you to pay $45 for a class to learn how ti tie a figure 8 etc. Staff also not super nice

Matt Honigford

Great place, workout, staff and exercise

Connor Pellegrini

Amazing gym tons of courses for all skill levels. A nice cafe area and a decent gym are unnecessary but entirely welcome addons.

Cory L

Cons: Parking can be difficult Bouldering in top-rope area is lack luster They sweep instead of vacuum, which can make the air very dusty and chalky Pros: Tall walls for every discipline Wooden crack rack for trad folk Fun climbs await you

Annie Lee

Horribly rude staff who don't give any respect or attention to beginning climbers. The routes are alright, but the rocks are often worn and dirty. Took the belay lesson and test, and my instructor was a total jerk and very short with me, as if it was common knowledge to know how to handle the ropes of rock climbing. Would not come again.

Alfred Pato

Fun place, friendly staff.

Andrew Gerlach

This gym is the only game in town (unless you're satisfied with the tiny M Rock gym) and they know it. As such, they don't feel the need to treat climbers as valued customers, but rather as annoyances. The staff isn't actively malicious (which, sadly, is an improvement from over a year ago), but most interactions with them leave me feeling that I'm an inconvenience to be dealt with and nothing more. They tend to treat the gym as their own personal playground that the customers are encroaching upon. There have been multiple instances of me or someone else being told some activity is not allowed, only to see staff members doing the exact same thing at another time. There is little to no consideration for how their behavior affects the climbers in the gym. Last night they threw down mats covered in dust and chalk from the top of the pillar so that even breathing became a miserable experience there. This is just one of a dozen examples of this type of thing. If you're a climber, and you need to get your fix, you don't have much of a choice but to deal with all this. And Planet Rock won't let you forget it.

Han Xiao

Nice place to have fun, really cool

Kaycie Jones

My pre-teen daughter LOVES this place!

Mario Russo

A great place to train! Lots of routes that are changed out frequently, plus there's lots to boulder with a brand new bouldering section

Dane Stahl

Great fun with ropes! Gravity sucks though.

Murphy Finnegan

Awesome place. Best work out ever. The challenge and thrill gets me so pumped. Super fun too. Michigan has no true mountains where we can do this for real so this idea was perfect. They totally rock.

Andy Garrison

it's a nice gym but the staff is so rude that it kills the atmosphere. basically, if you're not an elite level climber or a kid doing the climbing camps I would stay away.

Anne Vandermade

Great staff and good climbing. Routes are changed weekly and there's a good variety that offers challenging routes for all levels. Bouldering options aplenty, and top ropers are spoiled for choice. Show up early to beat the crowds, team options for kids.

Lauren Kramer

Pricey but worth it. Chill and competent staff.

Hannes Lurk

Good opertunities for rope climbing. Boulder routes were all quite hard compared to other places around the world.

Max Smith

Only place in town to go climbing, little pricey.

Prescott De Montauban

Probably one of the hardest workouts for me. I’m definitely an amateur climber. Totally loved it though. I will go back without question. It was a nice design and doing the climb but was a bit challenging and higher than I expected.

Minjun Zhu

Staff are professional and always willing to help, hope they could open another branch in Northville/Novi area because both of the current locations are so packed by people

Nicole Taylor

Love this place! Prices are a bit high but its the only place close to climb.

Dan Sigro

Lots of fun! Great workout! Lots of challenging routes for bouldering, top rope and lead climbing! Super friendly staff. Feels a little cramped compared to the Madison Heights location but it is under construction right now to add another climbing wall so i can't wait to see how that turns out!!

John Montgomery

An adequate replacement for the now closed Pontiac Planet Rock

Robert Weyant

Best climbing gym in the Ann Arbor area. Great staff, always friendly and helpful and they make sure everyone is safe

Darren Caviani

Had my daughters bday here (she turned 5) and the instructors did a great job with the kids. Nice facility, great instructors - would highly recommend for a kids bday party.

Brittney Banna

My first experience was with friends, and the staff seemed eager to show us the ropes. Since then I have been frequently. The facility is wonderful and I am always excited to walk in and see a new formation to try. I am new to the sport but have received great help in all areas that I have tried so far. My only complaints would be PARKING! As this is out of their control I still keep the 5 star rating. Also I live about 45 min away so I hope someone gets on building another gym closer to me!

Emma Restuccia

The gym is fun, as are the routes, but the staff act fairly aloof. They don't work with beginners and seem inconvenienced and too cool to interact with anyone who is not an expert climber. It was a fun time otherwise, but the staff could stand to be more welcoming.

David Shuler

I started climbing here the last year of college (early spring of '17) and fell in love with the sport. Since then I have been to 11 other gyms across the country, but mostly the mid-west. Every time I go to a new gym I end up finding a reason to like this gym more. The staff is always happy to help with any questions ranging from beta on a problem to finding the right pair of shoes to places to go climbing outdoors. On top of that the gear shop has had everything that I have needed so far and can probably order it on the off chance they don't have something. As far as route setting goes, a new bouldering set (10-15 problems) goes up about every week and there is usually a new set for ropes (5-10 routes) in about the same time frame. If not a whole set, at least a couple new routes a week. The routes themselves are usually pretty diverse in style and are always fun and challenging. They also do a good job with the classes they offer. I can't say too much about all of them because I haven't taken them all, but the lead class and beginners class are both great. I assume the same is true for the others. Overall I would highly recommend it to anyone at any level. If you are brand new they will take care of you and make sure you know what you are doing to stay safe and you still have a blast. If you are a seasoned climber there are plenty of challenging routes and strong people to climb with.

Matthew Eddy

I used to climb there a lot, but that was about 10 years ago. I went back recently with my 5yo daughter and found the place had expanded a bit - adding a pretty big new room for bouldering. The only reason I am givig it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I had tourble finding enough routes with enough larger holds for my daughter. When I used to go there, one section had about 2-3 ropes and the walls were plastered with holds. Perfect for a beginner. At that time all the routes had lots of extra holds. Now it seems the routes have just the holds for that particualr route and there is only one route per rope. Not sure if they have a limited number of holds now that they expanded, but it made it difficult for me to help get my daughter gain any confidence in climbing because she is short, and the holds were spaced for adults, and the bottom holds were only small toe holds. Which she doesn't have any confidence in using.

Zahra Khakpour

Great place to practice climbing, and nice staff!

Ellison Zak

Planet Rock is an incredible place to climb with an open and supportive community all around you. I had summer student membership here and came several times every week, and I return whenever possible. I had never climbed before last May, and this place made it very approachable and exciting for me. The wide range of bouldering and top-rope problems kept me constantly challenged.

Francis Esmonde-White

Great routes, for both bouldering and climbing. Routes include top rope and lead climbing. They expanded quite a bit in 2016, adding a second area with mostly bouldering routes. There is also a Cafe area, as well as a shop with a good selection of climbing equipment.

Jon Xuereb

Friendly staff, frequently adds new routes for top rope, lead and bouldering. The "problem of the week" boulder problem is a great feature that keeps me coming back.

Christopher Kulwik

Very nice bouldering, top roping, and lead climbing gym. Also has a newly renovated workout area with dumbells, treadmills and some other machines, no barbells/squat racks. They have aerial silks, programs for kids, and yoga. I have been a member for 6 months and just bought another annual pass, very happy here. The rock walls are reset every few weeks to keep things fresh.

Shane Ewing

First time visit with my son ,extremely pleasant experience ! Our instructor was top notch ,don't no how to spell his name but sounds like NoWay ,we will be back !the entire staff was very helpful !thanks Shane and David

Kosta El Greco

Great place to climb! Friendly atmosphere, good route setting and a big facility.

Xingxin Zhou

Worst staff you can ever find here. They hold grudge for you and will take your privilege back whenever it's convenient for them so that you need to spend more money and energy on it again! If you are ever going to get an lead certificate, don't come to Ann Arbor, go to Madison Heights or Lifetime. They have much nicer staff who are truly helpful for your improvement instead of abusing their power.

Oliver Michaels

Had a great time here. Brought my buddies and we had a blast. The atypical workout was so worth.

Ryan Mast

The new bouldering area is amazing, though they seem to rate quite a bit harder than the Madison Heights gym, and I wish you could top out like at MH

Linda Santiago

Super fun place. Loved the time we spent here. To learn good info and have fun is the best thing in life.

Evan Linehan

Prefer the Planet Rock in Madison Heights but still a good place to climb.

Veronica P

Huge gym with lots of bouldering, top roping, and lead climbing routes. Bouldering routes are reset every few weeks, top roping/lead climbing routes every few months or so. Friendly staff!

Roie Levin

Forced me to pay $45 and spend 45 min doing belay training, when all I wanted was bouldering. Never had this at other gyms.

Jacob Isabell

After today's visit, I have to amend my previous review. My sister and I have collectively been climbing 10 years, so I feel like we know what we're doing. To have condescending and generally smug attitudes towards us through out the day made us feel like we weren't welcome there. I'll take my business to Madison Heights.

Phillip Palajac

Lessons were great. Fun experience. Safety was always a priority.

Aaron Weidenaar

Pricing scheme is stupid. You have to wait until Black Friday or be gouged on a membership. Setting is fine. Staff force you to get belay certified even if you are only bouldering or there for only a day (even guests visiting from elsewhere). The location is very busy when college is in session.

Jeff Ferrel

Was my home gym for many years and it was a good gym. It was only until I went out of state and visited other gyms to realize how far behind this gym is and how dirty and unkept the gym is overall. Could be a great gym if they put money into the upkeep and cleanliness.

Chris Biddle

I really like this place. A good emphasis on safety is a great start. Many more advanced routes. I like climbing here.

Kody Kosloski

Staff is awesome and the place is awesome.

Kyle Jones

Very fun place to work out. The walls are great and well maintained. The staff was very helpful and made sure my safety was first priority. Price is a little too high for me to come very often but that is on me more then them. I will definitely be back for more.

Amanda Sanders

Great experience! All around very knowledgeable helpful staff.

Lindsey Scheer

A great local climbing gym with friendly & knowledgeable staff. It's a large facility with a large selection of climbing (bouldering, lead, top rope, auto belays...). They also have a nice pro shop & the staff is great with gear & training.

Sean Tower

I've been a member climbing at the Ann Arbor Planet Rock for about 5 years now. It used to be a standard by which I compared other gyms. I am cautiously optimistic for it's future.

Matthew Hildner

Great rock climbing place. A little on the dusty side (even for a rock climbing place)

Sam Hickey

Points for it being a large facility with plenty of routes, but it's cancelled out by the fact that they're changed very infrequently compared to other climbing gyms I've been a member of -- I've been here over a month and haven't noticed any changes. And then the overwhelming aroma of humid feet upon entering the place. Not the biggest fan but it's the only climbing gym in the area.

Root SUP

Beginner friendly! Super fun!

Janet Phan

First time here and needless to say I was pretty impressed! I don't know what the other reviewers had issues with but the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Only suggestion is for them to update their lockers. I had to hit mine a couple times after I unlocked my lock just to get it to open. Either than that small issue, I will definitely be returning!

Wolfgang Grentz

Great exercise for the whole family. A large variety of climbing walls and different skill levels available.

Zach V

Fun to stay for hours

K Nichols

Great exercise. Great people. Fun family place to exercise your climbing skills. Hard core or newbie.

Dan Hiemstra

Love this place! Student semester pass is a great deal. Lots of routes, and fun bouldering atmosphere.

Jeff Rechten

I go every week and keep coming back.

Elena Guindi-Bright

Rock climbing here is so fun they have really fun classes great birthday parties and the people here are always so nice

Nate

Good routes refreshed at a decent pace.

Jay Ellithorpe

Great experience for a first time climber!

Joshua Novak

Planet Rock is a Great Facility. I have been going here to the Ann Arbor area since I was very young and keep coming back. I am now part of a climbing club from my university and we go to both facilities at least 20+ times a year. The staff is very helpful and willing to give any advice when I have a question on a route or about a set up. The prices are kind of high but that doesn't stop me from coming back during my down time from school. Also, having a little business background, I know how difficult it is to keep such a great facility clean and safe. The bathrooms/locker rooms are kept very clean and they have a ton of cubbies for people to put their stuff. They also have a little coffee shop inside which is nice to have nearby when on a break from climbing. I can say this. That personally, I have a great appreciation for those who keep this facility clean and safe and, as long as I live in the area I will always be going to Planet Rock because of the great atmosphere and awesome people I have met. For my review, I give them a 5 out of 5.

Raquel Rodriguez

Plenty of routes, clean facility, and good vibes

Xiaotong Sun

Really really enjoyed

chad c

the staff are unsafe and rude! nice gym... trash staff.

Mitch Rayer

Planet Rock has a huge selection of routes. Their bouldering selection is great, with some slab routes and volume challenges that both add a good amount of variety to your sessions. There's also a ton of top rope options. My only complaints are that I feel that the staff could be more approachable, and the place is usually overwhelmingly crowded when I go.

Robert Robertson

Very nice place. I have been there many times and love it. Long routes, nice staff, and good people. It is a bit pricey but that is why I spend at least 4 hours there when I go.

Cookie Wookie

Staff was not respectful I would not recommend for people looking to start rock climbing

Nick Whiting

You need to get your climb on? This is where it is done!!

Rebekah Hart

So many fun yet challenging paths, a great place to climb. The staff is so helpful and friendly. This place has great vibes
