Always very clean! The staff is generally very nice. I try to go in there when it is slower because I like to keep to myself when I work out and the employees respect that. I always get a friendly "hello" and "goodbye" whenever I go in. They must do a great job training and hiring the right employees because it's very consistent!

This is a very clean and well-maintained facility. They have a ton of equipment. So much, in fact, that even when the parking lot is jam packed you will still rarely have to wait to use a particular machine. The locker rooms are spacious and have showers and changing stalls. The Traverse City Planet Fitness has everything you could want in a gym.

Planet fitness is cheap and you get what you pay for. The judgment free zone is likely beneficial for a lot if members but in my case it feels like it breeds an atmosphere where you can't challenge yourself. The main gym is usually clean, the staff is cordial though rarely seem enthused to be there. Open and staffed 24 hours which is great. The locker rooms can become dirty if the corresponding sex worker is not staffed to clean them.

Decent gym for the price. Well equipped cardio and machine area. Dumbbells max out at 70 lbs, and there is no option for barbell exercises (squats, bench, deadlift), unless you settle for the smith machines. Clean facility, friendly staff, just don’t drop your weights or grunt too loud. Judgement free zone, bruh.

I usually go to Planet Fitness with my brother as some bro time as we do some work outs that is from a fitness program and it works out great. My favorite thing is though besides that, is I can go there at 3:00 AM and do my thing. The availability is great. If I wanna make for a light work out in a small to no crowd then I can. If I wanna go during the 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM Chaos (the busiest it can be lol) and do a heavy work out then so be it. Any time. It's awesome.

The gym is extremely clean staff friendly and helpful. I have a infant so when I can't get back to sleep I hit the gym as it is open 24/7. It can get crowded in the afternoons and packed Saturday but usually enough equipment to share. People usually leave you alone during your workouts but are respectful of individual space and goals. No one will make you feel bad about yourself regardless of how fit you are. Definitely worth a shot if you are looking for a place to sweat it out.

This place is a rip off they charge you extra to sign up and then in fine print they conceal an extra $58.00 cancelation fee if you are a "black card member" and you cancel within the first year. Instead of a work out place it is a place that works you over. Hold onto your wallet I am sure they will try to get every cent out of you I bet the employee parking lot has a couple of real expensive cars paid for by people they have duped.

This is the biggest gym in town and is very clean and well-kept. The staff is always friendly. There are many cardio and weight machine options as well as frere weights. Smith machines round out the main area. I haven't even made it to the 360 room, 30 minute circuit room or the 12 minute and room. More amenities I've yet to use include tanning, massage chairs,(hydro?), a total body enhancement booth. Wrapping this up with a shower in a clean and roomy shower room with private changing rooms is why I gave this facility 5 stars.

Such an easy place to work out. Tons of options to choose from and little informative signs on the machines to help teach us amateurs how to use them easily. I'm not afraid or uncomfortable to come by myself, which is great because then I can come literally whenever it is convenient for me. The ease is what makes me keep coming back.

Went in to purchase a membership, staff is extremely unhelpful. The girl had a very hard time spelling my name, address, and took many times to get my phone number. Went through the entire process before she told me what I would need for the day (checking account number) and then stopped the process because all I had was my credit card. While this is understandable, staff should explain what is needed up front before a customer has to spend almost twenty minutes repeating their name and number. Will go online to sign up since the gym was very clean and had many machines, but not happy with "help" provided by the staff. Maybe give more training, although the girl was very nice about it all.

Honestly, I've been a member at a lot of gyms but Planet Fitness is one I'll never go back to. The locker rooms smelled horrible and everyone shoved their stuff in without a lock so you couldn't find a locker and once you opened one (cause you have no way of knowing it was used) everything would just tumble out. Plus people changed in the bathroom stalls and then you couldn't go before or after your workout. The equipment is fine and perfectly usable and there was plenty of it but like any gym it gets hard at peak hours. My biggest complaint is that they're a "no judgement" zone but they judge people who consistently work out and know what they're doing. There's a "lunk alarm" for when someone wears a tank top or carries "too big" (whatever that means) of a water bottle. It's just rude to judge anyone and you can't claim to be no judgement and put a sign up on your wall judging people.

Love the brand new equipment and nice locker rooms. Even at peak times, though the parking lot is crammed, there are always machines available. Only gave it 3 stars because half of the reason I got a membership was for the black card spa amenities. However, I end up getting frustrated every time I try to tan or use the massage machines because the staff are like deer in highlights and can't seem to manage the demand for services. There will be rooms open, and people waiting, and no one getting called. It is very frustrating. They need a good multi tasker dedicated to just working the spa side. Also I was never told about the totally body enhancement thing, and it was a few times before I could get anyone to really explain what it was. So the gym is great, but the staff aren't really fully trained and they don't seem to be ready for the demand they have created.

Tons of cardio machines mean no waiting. Occasional waiting for weight machines. Locker area kept clean. 24/7 access. Lots of TV screen choices if you like that while doing your cardio. Trainer will give you a tour and s free program set up.

I made an appointment with the trainer. Waited over an hour for her to finish with three other ladies. Then she goes to someone else. By then I said forget it. Then me and my boyfriend brought guest in and as I was showing them around I got told I couldn't do that and they had to wait in lobby. I let the person in lobby know what I was doing they said ok. I'm at the point I don't know if I want to return

Awesome gym, awesome staff, awesome place! I am enjoying getting back in shape. The gym is clean, well kept, and staff is great. I've read the negative reviews about billing, simply not the case. Staff is clear and tell you 3x or more throughout the sign up process, the paperwork (that you sign) notifies you of policies and billing terms, and still people complain. LOL. ***FREE LIFE TIP*** Set down your phone and listen while things are explained to you. Great gym!

Billing problems, had amount frozen before it was supposed to come out, withdrawal before due date. Fees not listed but pop up and never told about. They can add fees without informing you and it's not listed for the item you have to ask like the 6 cent tanning tax even if you don't tan. The price isn't the problem it's not being informed if this. Stress free environment it's not. People who need to mind their own business fell the need to bug you while working out or before you can sanitize what you use are rude, condescending telling you what your already about to do and those taking selfies of themselves in the bathroom.

I've been here in the past. I love the gym and atmosphere, but I just called about membership information and got almost no information and felt like the guy didn't want to be on the phone. Before I could even ask another question I was asked if I needed anything else even though I only asked one question and had maybe a half a second pause before I could say anything else. My only complaint is that the circuit workout room often has people parked on a single machine, which defeats the purpose of having a 30 minute circuit room, because you cannot complete a speedy workout that way. Even with skipping around the circuit, my husband and I often end up skipping machines since dealing with snarky people (who have been on a machine for a full THIRTY MINUTES) is just too exhausting to do more than a few times.

Well, I'm a bit of a shy person and wanted someone to help me get on a program with mostly free weights but was told that wasn't possible and I should just use the machines. I don't like the machines and they are confusing to me but okay. It's hard to make myself go to begin with and then to have to use machines because no one can help me to put a little routine together on the free weights was kind of a let down. Also the hidden fees that if you don't keep a close eye on your account, will just be sneaked out of yours into theirs. Then I find out they also let men into the women's dressing room depending if the dude feels like a girly man that particular day. Or just says he does... Umm...not okay. I asked the young girl working behind the desk if it was true and she said in a whispered hush, while looking from side to side, "yes unfortunately if a man wishes to go into the ladies room there is nothing we can do about it." But I thought there wasn't any judgement? Then why do I feel judged for not feeling comfortable with the fact that it's not only possible a man will come walking in the dressing room and see me naked, but the management is on board with that? I also noticed that when other women express on here their concerns about the very same, they are ignored as I'm fairly sure I will also be. Sure feels like a judgement to me. And predictably when I told my husband he was not happy and asked me to find another gym that has just even the slightest common sense. And so I did. And they are helping me with the free weights. Totally worth the extra money and I don't worry that some guy will jump out of the stall and do God knows what. Otherwise the gym looks great.

Today I had both good and bad experiences at planet fitness. Even though the locker room has signs stating to use locks on the lockers and they sell them there I decided not to. Long story short someone had taken or misplaced my keys which had the key to my car, home and work on them. The staff was extremely helpful with helping look for them. The very generous owner even gave me a ride home. When we arrived at my place the staff called and stated that someone turned my keys in. The owner then drove me back to the gym so I could pick my keys up. Most businesses would have told me I was SOL but this staff was helpful, compassionate and generous. I thank each and everyone of them for everything they did to help me!
