After you cancel, they'll try to keep on billing you, even if you told them in person that you want to cancel and even if they said, verbally, they won't bill you. You'll have to file a charge back to get them to end their billing. They'll try to pressure you into paying $40 for 3 months ($120) to end billing but that's nowhere in the contract you signed -- they're just saying that. So, yeah, file a chargeback if they keep on billing you.

Absolutely disgusted with this company! They sent my account to a collection agency without EVER reaching out to me that I even had an account with them still! Then that collection agency never reached out to me and posted a derogatory mark on my credit report. I called this gym half a dozen times to speak to someone in regards to this and left several messages and NO ONE called me back- super professional! DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM!!

The place is designed to scam you out of as much money as possible with straight out lies from the employees. It starts out with you winning a free membership that actually costs money. The next part is saying you need to sign a document that is for authorizing month to month payments on your credit card. In reality the document is signing you up for a two year membership. When I tried to cancel the only way you can get in touch with billing is through email with employs that do not respond in any sort of timely manner. If you talk to any of the employees at the location about cancellation they will only refer you to the email and convey that they do not know anything. Stay away from this company at all costs. If you want to go to a gym there are many other ones that don't get you signed up with lies and deceit. If possible I would give 0 stars.

I am very frustrated with this gym. I mainly use it for the classes. Three times now I have gone there to a class and the class was cancelled. Two of those times I called ahead to make sure it was on, and was told by someone "as far as I know the class is still on." When I got there the instructor didn't show, when someone called him he said he had called the gym twice in the AM to let them know he was sick and wouldn't be there. It would have been nice if the manager came over to the people that showed up and apologized and gave a reason as to what happened. For a while we were just standing there wondering when the instructor would be there. The second time I called ahead I told them what had happened the first time and that I wanted to make sure it doesn't happen again. Some young girl again says "as far as I know it's still on". When I got there the class had been erased off of the board so obviously someone who worked there knew it was cancelled. Apparently the instructor quit. I took time to drive all the way to the gym on my busy weeknights all to be misled. The communication among the staff there really sucks. The only saving grace is there are a couple really good classes/instructors.

In the beginning of November I won a 21 day membership and by the middle of December I have been charged for 2 months service. I call today to ask can I come put in writing that I would like to have my membership cancelled. The young woman on the phone tells me, "No. You have to send an email to corporate and wait for them to get back with you." So I could be charged again but it would count starting from the email. I am livid. I will continue to work out at home. I hate a scam artist.

Came here only gym in the area with free weights and classes. Has decent weights, cardio equipment is fair at best. No stairmasters, elipiticals are old and needs updated. They advertised a 21 day free membership, is false advertisement when you sign up you don't get the 21 days!! But they don't tell you of course. The staff don't know where anything is located, have to go find the manager if he's there. Very disappointed.

went in because they said I "won a prize" which of course is just a way to get you in there. Once in there they said the $8/month you can only go 3xs/week!! or you could switch into a more expensive monthly plan. When I said I would not use tanning, they said they would "throw in" free child care instead. Tried to ask what the cancellation fees would be and I felt like the guy was all over the place with it! I said I wanted a contract that I would read first and then sign to make sure I'm getting what I paid for/was promised and they said I couldn't see my contract till I SIGN FOR IT FIRST! Didn't make sense and that was the end of that- wasted my time. BTW the prize is a 2night/3day stay, but there is a very short list of places you can go and only one in MI. I read some other reviews about people who got hit with cancelation fees/CC issues and I'm glad I went with my gut instinct. Wish Planet Fitness was a little closer, would totally resign on with them!!!!

I went to check out the Gym and ended up being pushed in to signing up that day. I told "Jason" that I wanted to discuss it with my husband before making a choice and he told me that the offer was only good on "my first time in". That should have been my first clue as to what type of business this was. He rushed me through the paperwork and failed to point out that there was a $44 fee on 7/15 every year on top of my membership fee. Thankfully, I insisted on a "no contract" membership but you still needed to 60 days to cancel (they continue to take money for another 60 days, not your membership is done in 60 days). When I called to cancel after being charged this unexpected fee, I was told to write an email and then there was no response to the email. I tried to write again a few times for confirmation of cancellation and kept receiving a message that the mailbox was full. Finally I called and they passed the info on to a Manager to look at the mailbox. I was told that I would have another payment and then my membership would be done but they had failed to take the payment for the previous month and did not tell me that they would be taking double payment. I had assumed that they took the payment when they should (since they had no problem taking the $44 and there was plenty of money in my account to cover the membership fee as well). They failed to take the membership fee and tried to pass it off as my fault. Even if there wasn't money in my account, the bank would have paid that small amount and just charged me to do so. A little heads up about the double payment the next month would have been nice. I have now been told that they will not take anything additional and my membership is canceled and will wait to see if they continue to take funds. If so, I will definitely be disputing with my bank and contact the BBB since the Manager at the gym has not been helpful so far and ultimately, I shouldn't have had to make the next month's payment (I paid for my "last month" upon signing up so 60 days turned in to 90 days). The equipment is not fantastic and if you go at night, there is no one there to show you how to use it (you have to try to figure out the pictures on the equipment). I am not sure if they show you during the day since I have not gone during the day. I do know that "Jason" had no interest in showing me how to use any equipment the day I signed up and just walked me through the areas talking really fast. He's definitely a pushy fast talking salesman. I wish I had seen reviews for this gym before signing up. I will never use this gym again and would rather pay a lot more to get a membership at the Y where they give you a long tour and completely explain the fees and equipment.

Family Fitness is pretty great! cheap membership, classes every morning & evening, women's section, annnd 24 hours with access card. The personal trainers there are pretty bomb, and they're session rate is definitely at good cost compared to other gyms.

After actually working out at other gyms in Michigan I will never understand the reviews I've read just now over canceling and contracts and cleanliness issues. The cleaning girl in the early morning is always here when I come in mopping and cleaning up the restrooms and when I've come in later at night there's a guy cleaning the facility too. Other cheaper gyms I've been to, the cleaning was lysol spray and dirty rags for the price I pay here.. Which is really the best deal you can get for what they offer out compared to spending $100 a month at other places.I can afford this...They have cloth towels, disinfectanct bottles are all over the facility to make sure you wipe up your machines and their machines are newer than alot of other facilities. I always watch the staff re rack members weights when really... members should be doing this.. its gym etiquette and if you want to work out in a facility you should know what to do and what not to do..As for the membership, I was shown so many options when I was signing up and they all depended on what I wanted to use so I wouldn't pay for unnecessary things (Awesome btw!) I did opt to waive out my enrollment for the longest term but I knew what I was signing up for and they sent me literally every piece of paperwork I could think of to my email to make sure I could read it all and get other questions answered if i DID have them.. no other gym did that when I went in... And other gyms have charged me cancellation fees as well! There's always cancel fees with contracts. It's just like a apartment or cell phone. You're dedicating your time and committing yourself to a healthier lifestyle when you join a gym. If you aren't ready for that then don't sign up for any gym. But if you are ready to change yourself, then actually stick to it and ACTUALLY GO to the gym and stop making up excuses why it didn't work for you.

So, I WON! A free two year membership and a vacation. I went down there and the manager was rude and dismissive. The place was very dirty and smelled terrible. Before going down there I asked them was there any "catch" to the winning of this prize and was reassured there was not. Unfortunate there was. My free membership included a monthly "cleaning fee", why, I'm not sure the place was a dump and in need of a serious cleaning. My vacation did not include airfare and also required a registration fee, along with a reservation fee. Thanks for wasting my time. Absolutely do not recommend this place.

This is a horrible company! The win a trip was just a come on to get you in. The trainer that we spoke with signed my husband and I up for training sessions. We agreed on four training session per month, for a TOTAL of $100 for both of us. We've been double charged since January. They compensated us for one month but now we're back at being charged $200 every month. Sandra, the Corporate Manager is a rude and nasty individual. Told us too bad. Take us to court. We have the contracts. Funny thing is, we never received a copy of the signed contracts. These people will bleed you dry. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

i have had the membership for almost two years and have been trying to get out of it for the last year. the staff are body builders only interested in their own affairs, i have been sent back and forth between facilities without any answers. the only time they are helpful and friendly are when they are signing you up to your death sentence. i do not recommend.

I honestly don't understand how anyone could not happy with this gym. The staff is friendly and helpful, they have all of the equipment you would possibly ever need and the gym is a lot cleaner than any other gym I have visited in the past. If you don't want a 3 year membership then don't agree to one, simple as that. I got free enrollment if I signed up for a 3 year and a lowered monthly cost, you bet cha I took advantage of it !

I love this gym. I've been a member for a few months and I've had a great experience so far. The place is busy but there are always plenty of machines to use. Even when machines aren't working they are fixed or replaced quickly. The staff is always helpful and friendly. I'm glad I got such a great deal on a two year contract because I will spending alot of time here this winter!

I am beyond pissed at this company! BEYOND!!!!!!!! I had a membership with FOREVER FITNESS that never told its members about being taken over, no option was given to go to this gym. If I wanted to go to Family fitness I would have. But when I went to visit prior to Forever fitness, I hated it, I didn't like anything about the gym. The contract I had from FOREVER FITNESS never stated anything about being bought out. I DON'T OWE THESE PEOPLE A DIME. However I get a phone call saying my Account went into a delinquent stage? What Account? I dont even live in the State Of MI. $500 they say.....They are going to have to take me to court! Period! PERIOD! And Prove to me 1. Where it says in my previous contract I HAVE to join a membership that I knew nothing about. 2. What papers did I sign at Family Fitness? None!

I ended up getting a new card but now the trouble comes into play of getting all of my money back that they stole. OH BOY WHAT A TERRIBLE COMPANY! I have been trying to cancel my membership since this place was Forever Fit. First, I was given the wrong email to cancel my membership. Then, only after I have had enough and gone off the handle have I been contacted. I wish it was possible to give this gym a negative star. I met one person who was not rude when I went, and she was the childcare worker. For some reason, I have had to say more than 5 times for them to cancel my membership. First I got, give us a month and if you still wanna cancel then we will do it then. To which I replied, cancel it immediately. I don't need 30 days, I need my membership canceled. Then I got, ok we can cancel it, please confirm by __/__ if you want to proceed with canceling. Did my words not make sense or something? Does cancel not mean cancel anymore? Why is this not getting through. Thiiiiis company is absolutely terrible. I have never had so much trouble canceling anything before. They do not care about their members, so long as they can get that money in some way shape or form.

This Place is literally horrible. Until I get out of my contract/ or at least a response for corporate I will not take this review down. The front desk tells me to email corporate- I do this and I have received no response (Emailed 01/27/14, 03/04/14, and 03/08/14). The customer service is the worst I have ever seen. - I was interested in joining this gym and an employee give me a tour and then complete the paperwork with me. He told me about the options I had, when I asked a question about the tanning (If I could have it for part of the year but not the whole year- cancel it during the summer) he said the he didn't know and did not find someone who knew the answer. When we were filling out the membership agreement, he had me fill out my information on the top of the form (name, address, number, ect) and then he had date and sign the form. He then filled out the middle part of the form- membership type, tanning/freeze/travel, the renewal program, monthly dues, the membership begin date and expire date, as well as the membership term. He signed me up for 3 years WITHOUT telling me, AFTER he had me sign the form already. I believe this to be a deceitful business move. I thought that we were talking about a year membership (at no point did he mention a 3 year agreement).

The good thing about this place is the cost and they finally got more equipment after expanding a little. However, many members do help to maintain the image of the gym and take no pride in where they workout. (Re-racking weights etc.) Employees have made an effort to fix that but there is only so much they can do. Gym equipment could be maintained a little better but it all gets the job done proficiently. In the past wait times could be a little ridiculous but it has gotten better now that there is more equipment and more variety. Workers are friendly and have worked with me to resolve any issues.

Do not sign up! Read the fine print and don't listen to a word the "trainer" tells you. I cancelled before my thirty day "FREE" trial was over for two huge reasons. First I was lied to about them finishing the womens side( which I was told still didn't get finished till a year after I tried to cancel. Second was I was moving to Holland! Was told it was cancelled and was never refunded my money and now all these years later I get a call that I owe them $530!! Excuse me but F them!

I came to Family Fitness back in July and signed up. I signed up with the $40 a month Executive package with personal trainer. Unfortunately I was unable to keep up the payments and the three year contract. I and my stepfather came down to the club to discuss a different arrangement and possibly get a new, shorter contract. We talked to Lee who let me pay $300 for a year long contract and everything worked out fine. I am planning on finding other options with them once that is up as I have very limited financial constraints. I go when I am able to and I utilize the equipment that is there. They have everything that I need to use, treadmills, bikes, epillepticals, weights and they have a few classes there that I could take. I'm not a morning person so I usually go to the evening ones when I am able to get there if I have gas in my car. My favorites are the Strength and Toning class as well as the Yoga and Pilates classes and Kim is a great instructor. She is sweet and engaging and always shows alternative poses and exercises if you aren't able to do the more advanced ones. I do wish that they would have a more Yoga centric class and I have been told that they plan to do so. Yoga is one of the few exercises that I can do. Lee is a good person and is willing to work out options with you if they arise. I have been pleased with how they do that and I do recommended checking this place out. Not only that but this location is near enough for me to go to without driving all the way across town. It's in a familiar enough place for me and the people there are pretty nice and cool as well as motivating. Since then, I have lost about 12 pounds and hope to lose some more, and hopefully when the weather gets warmer I can start using the bus to get there and actually start losing some weight.

Family Fitness is a small family oriented gym located in Wyoming, Mi that is a great place to get your workout in. I've had memberships to large gym chains in the past and all they care about is your membership. I never once felt this way about Family Fitness. They care about your well-being. Their staff is wonderful. Kaitlyn was there to help every step of the way. She gave me a tour, showed me how the equipment works, and walked me through the membership process

Never go here...like ever! I remember reading all these reviews about the gym that are bad, and I told myself that only people who are upset come on here when they're mad to post reviews so I gave the place the benefit of the doubt. Well, I should have listened. I had a 14 day free membership, so I went in to just try it out to see if I liked it and instead of showing me around like they said they would I got pressured into signing a 2 year contract. Then after I decided it wasn't something I could afford, they threw me through so many hoops, too many to go into detail, and told me story after story and I ended up having to pay over $200.00 for something I never used. And to top it off, the manager Jason was so rude!! He accused me to my face of lying about what I was told by someone else I spoke to on the phone. He was rude and sarcastic and he should definitely NOT be a manager there, let alone an employee. What a great way to represent your facility and company. I would really advise against this place for sure.

If they aren’t trying to hit on every mildly attractive girl that walks in they are telemarketing and trying to con people into being convinced they need to sign up. They are a commission based sales organization meaning they have the incentive to charge you way more if they feel like they can get away with it.

When I come in, I look forward to seeing their smiling faces and whenever I have a question about fitness or the machines, they are always there to help. Absolutely Abysmal. They are the worst! (to put it lightly). The reason I signed up for Family Fitness was because it was close to my work. I signed up on a Friday and came back the following Monday(one business day) to cancel my membership because just I got notice from my employer that I was being moved to a different location. On that Monday they told me I could not cancel the membership because I was locked in on a one year contract and had to pay a cancelation fee. So I decided to ride it out for the year till my contract was up. After a year of paying for gym membership, I changed my debit card number. I did not even use the gym at the end of the contract. They then called me a month later telling me I am in arrears of about $80. I let them know my contract was up and they were still insisting I pay because they said I signed an automatic renewal. WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS PULLS AN AUTOMATIC RENEWAL ON A CUSTOMER AFTER A YEAR WITHOUT ANY REMINDER NOTICE! That is just a terrible way to do business.

Overall I think this gym is good. Reading some of these comments is shocking, especially about the staff. I haven't had the chance to interact with Jason the manager so I don't know if he's rude or not but Mercades was defiantly not, she helped me set my membership up and was so nice about answering all my questions. I just left a gym paying $50 per month, this gym is so much worth the buck.

After completing grad school, I was able to reach my fitness goals and lost 14 lbs with direct training by Chris Wood. His holistic view on strength, endurance, and healthy living has given me the tools to continue my healthy lifestyle. Family Fitness is definitely worth the investment!

This place is such a rip off. Stay far away from this place. They make it almost impossible to cancel your membership. I tried to cancel my husband's membership and they told me I could only do it online. Did that and we are still being charged. My husband has been in the service for a year and a half! Not even in the state where the facility is located. So we can't go in person. Only thing we can do is contact our bank and cancel out the credit card.

Basic Gym - $9 a month advertisements is basically a Bait and Switch. Everything is extra. I received a flyer advertising "Michigan's Best Fitness Value / $9 per month / 30 days free". I signed up for the free trial and went to the gym. After talking with the manager I find out that most of the features listed on the flyer are extra including the Child Care and 24 hour access, which while not surprise, is annoying. The Free Pass they gave me is only good for 2 weeks, not the full 30 days. Also all of the classes that they offer take place in the Women's only area. We looking at this for our family. So my husband would be playing the same for only part of the benefits. The manager was nice, but pushed the sale too much and when I didn't sign up that day, he basically wrote me off.

Last year I had won a free 2 year membership, along with a 3-day 2 night stay at a resort of my choosing. I thought "Hey! this is great!" They even said I could cancel at any time, and for the time that I was a member it would only cost $8 for "cleaning and maintenance". The only time they allowed me to workout was during staffed hours. I have a 8am-7pm job, which does not allow me to make it in time for their staffed hours. If I had went during the non-staffed hours, they would charge me extra. Well it came about later in the year I was struggling a little financially, and to cut back a little I wanted to cancel my membership. When I emailed inquiring about canceling, she said she would gladly cancel my membership for the amount of $250.00. I had replied to them stating that whoever I had to talked to said I could cancel at anytime during my membership without a fee. The person who I was conversing with via email sent me my contract, and in the "fine print" they had said there would be a cancellation fee; since mine was a "free" membership I had to finish out my contract or pay that ridiculous fee. I will never step foot in their business again. THEY WILL TRY TO SCAM YOU OUT OF YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY BY LYING TO YOUR FACE AND HAVING YOU SIGN YOUR LIFE AWAY SO THEY CAN CHARGE FEES TO YOUR ACCOUNT! NEVER GIVE YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION TO THEM. The irony in that! Same thing happened to me.I was pushed into a contract for 3 years. I was able to utilize the gym maybe 1x. i went in the middle of the night and couldn't even get in, the scan card never worked. One morning after work, I went for a class and the class facilitator wouldn't even open the door and there was like 6 people waiting to get in. WTH! Then I tried cancelling, I was also told to write a letter, did that. Of course there was no record of it except my copy. Then I was told I had to pay $200 to cancel the membership. Just checked my account & was debited $44 & 40. Then I called AAC the people who handled payments for this company and was told that I need to speak with someone at FF because my account was closed in 4/11, so with that being said it is 9/12 why am I still being charged and twice?. So we'll see how well that goes over. Of course i tried calling noone answered and it's after 9am. I think we should all get together and file a class action suit. Times are to hard to be getting over on people.

The owner is a con artist. I was scammed into signing up for an membership that I was told I "won". Come to find out the gym (Forever Fit Fitness) closed in May. I cancelled my membership back in December and just recently received an email stating I owe this institution. How is this even connected? Oh, and I just recently noticed he put down the wrong date on the "cancellation" slip. The owner seems to be running a business where he opens up a gym and plans on it going out of business to keep charging people after it has closed. What a load of garbage. The email they give you to "cancel" your membership doesn't even exist! Stay far away from this company. I've contacted the local BBB and will even consider taking them to small claims. The only way to get out of them charging you is to get a new card.

I know people tend to only write these things when they've had a bad experience, but I've never really had any problems. Just seems like a lot of people signed up for a contract that they weren't ready for and don't understand that, like a cellphone, it doesn't matter how often you use it or not, you've still got to pay for it. I pay my twenty five bucks on time every month to work out whenever and I've never had an issue. It's a good atmosphere and it's close to home. I can't really complain about the service.

What a terrible place. Their offer for "free membership" or "win a trip" is bogus...you have to pay your own travel expenses to a limited selection of hotels where they give you a "discounted rate". Not worth it. They convince you they are offering the lowest deal they can for a set term and then charge you extra during the month whenever they need to "replace equipment" with no notice. Trainer never showed up for our appointment and then failed to return my call to reschedule. They did however manage to call each week trying to sell other membership packages, but when I called back...the line rang with no answer and no voice-mail. Would not recommend. Not worth it!

I was workingniut st the 28th location. I went to grab an exercise ball from the bars above me and when I touched the ball the bar was not secured and it came down and hit me in my face. It busted my lip open. I tried to report it to Jason (the guy who was supposed to be working the counter) after spending 20 minutes looking for him which I then realized he wasn't even in the building. When he finally got back I told him what happened and he was very rude and told me there was nothing he could do about it and asked if I wanted a bandaid in a very rude manner. Even the personal trainer said he should have done something and so did the 2 witnesses I have. That place is awful.

This place has become garbage. The new management (calling them that is a stretch) is unfriendly and not helpful. Never there when needed on weekend staffed hours! I had an issue on a Friday night with my card, waited till Saturday and Sunday to speak with someone about it during posted "staffed" hours, but no one is ever there. Towels hardly ever there now, even if they are , they dig them out of the basket of unfolded towels. Used to be a good environment, now we have bunches of d-bags walking around shirtless, working out and wetting up the equipment with their sweat. I've asked staff about it and they shrug at it. As a Manager and a Personal Trainer the conditions from the bathrooms, attitude of staff, cleanliness, weight set up and maintenance on average items is trash. This used to be a great place to work out, not anymore. I'd advise another location, this place is trash.

Be careful when signing up at this gym. The sleezy manager from the Plainfield location in May 2017, is now "managing" this location. I've been told from his Co workers he has been known to scam clients when it comes to the contract. He scammed me at Plainfield and I had to take it up with corporate. Other than the shady manager, so far this location is way better than the Alpine facility. This is cleaner, good amount and diverse equipment. Pretty dead most of the time. Only thing that is annoying is that they don't have more than a couple bottles of cleaner for the whole gym and two hampers to throw in the dirty towels. Hopefully this awful manager does not f up this location.

All of these people complaining are just a bunch of lazy fat asses. There is nothing wrong with this gym. Just don't get a membership you don't intend to keep. Becoming a member of a gym is like leasing an apartment instead your co leasing equipment with other members. Family Fitness has all the equipment you need. If your signing up for a membership this is a good place as they have lots of locations in West MI. However, if you don't plan on keeping your membership then don't sign up for one. They have a month to month plan.

If I wrote all the sneaky, underhanded things this gym has done, this paragraph would be a book and no one would take the time to read it. But basically, my daughter was tricked into signing a 3 year contract, was charged way more than she was told she would be, and when she went back THE SAME DAY she singed up, that jerk, Jason, told her there was no one authorized to give her a refund and she'd have to email corporate. After sending multiple emails, she finally heard back and they have given her the runaround ever since. Every time she has gone in there to talk to somebody, Jason has been a complete jerk! I have never heard of an employee treating a customer so rudely. At one point when she asked him a question, he wouldn't answer and just walked away! NEVER GO TO THIS GYM!!! They are dishonest and they treat their customers like crap. You never get to talk to anyone in charge either. The only one who is ever there is that arrogant work out snob, Jason. I realize people usually only write reviews if they've had a bad experience, but come on. Read them all! They all say the same thing. Please! If you are looking for a gym, go elsewhere!

Merecedez at the front desk was extremely professional when she helped out finalize my contract at the end of my 3 years today. I hope she continues to help customers as she helped me..she wisely used resources such as a my contact number to get a hold of me to get me back on the road. Mercedes you are so helpful! The store manager Lee was also very cooperative. Anyway, been at this Gym for a total of 3 years and I rate it 5 stars based on price and perks. I'll start with the good stuff then move on to the grime. Good: *Plenty of benches to bench press. Tons of body building equipment and in great shape.*The place is always kept very clean. *24-7 Access is a luxuary *Free Group Fitness Sessions with Chris the King of Workout *TV's/Radio and Tan Booth on site. *baby sitting (I think it still going on).*15 A month to use weights and treadmills is fair. Even Better at $9 just for weights! (I did the $15). Grime: *No showers on site *Some treadmills may be down for service. Overall This place is ok. Cheap. Local. Not too fancy. It averages out to a semi pleasant experience if you are serious about loosing weight or building muscle. IF your true goal is fitness, and you want the nearest gym to you, this place is just fine. Albeit they start at 3 year contracts end of discussion. 3 years of paying hasn't not been as bad as it sounds. Even after not being able to go to the Gym months at a time, It sill felt good hitting the Gym up anytime I felt like it (I had 24-7 access key) There are no excuses to not work out! If you live near by...why drive farther? Its worth a try here. Its under new management and maybe things have a better and new chime now! Thanks

I visited as part of the International Physical Fitness Association and was asked if I was going to be coming here often. I said no. I felt like they were going to try and charge me for a service I paid for to have access to all gyms a part of this membership? Also, some equipment was broken. And to top it off, the rates are great -- much lower than the gym I was using in Hastings, and given that this one has many more machines (both types of machine and sheer numbers), it is a much better deal. I do not like this gym. I went in for a 30 day trial to see if I liked it and to see if I was comfortable there, and despite how many times I said that, the staff was immediately extremely pushy when it came to signing up for a membership. The women's only workout area is a joke. It's small, cramped, and It's not even partitioned off from the rest of the gym. Anyone walking by can be creepy and gawk at anyone in that section, and I have witnessed several men just stroll right in and ignore the signs saying women only. When I have brought this to staff's attention, they have overall been unresponsive, and in one case, even downright disrespectful. I am trying to at least use the 30 days I have, but every time I go in there is something unpleasant, like no clean towels, staff who are rude and/or are only interested in their own vain body building, or men being creepy toward women. I am very disappointed in this gym and its staff.

Today i receiced a letter from a collection agency. This place is a joke. I left the gym due to not having equipment worth while. All their equipment is old. They dont have much to offer. Anyway, I've always had a great time at Family Fitness (I go to the Wyoming location). The staff is friendly, it's a good atmosphere, and I meet a lot of nice people here. I felt they cut me a pretty square deal on my plan (which includes the full gym, classes, and tanning). Jason was clear about the charges and due dates and he hooked me up with a free personal training session with Chris. The gym isn't too big, so I don't feel like I'm being judged. It's a place I can go where they know me by name. I will be going here for the forseeable future.

One trainor Nate tried selling me drugs AND pointed out all the girls he had slept with. They are ran by a board of directors who will not call you back. I pay my bill on time every month. I told them I am uncomfortable at there gym. They don't care they only want your money. I also have dated e-mails between me and the "human resources" they supposedly are. There are a lot of Family Fitness locations, but I really like the 28th Street/Wyoming location. It is clean, well equipped, and offers 24 hour access. All for $10-$15 a month. Kaitlyn, an employee, is very helpful with both membership questions and workout assistance. I prefer this gym to much higher priced gyms I've tried.

Alright so I signed up to go to the gym for the summer and got myself the 36 month membership and the guy that works there said we could cancel it anytime. So we thought why not, you know? So after 4 months of going to the gym I injured my forearms and decided to just stop for a while. So I went to go cancel the membership but they said I had to "email them". What kind of crap is that?! So they gave me the email and I sent them it but never responded. A couple months passed and I'm still getting charged monthly. So I called them to see what the hell's going on and they said "oh we have a new email". So I got the new email and emailed them to cancel and didn't respond again! They kept charging so I decided to call our bank to just cut off the card. 3 weeks later I get a letter from the debt collector saying I owe $720!!!!!! Worst gym you could go to. Don't get fooled, they don'y care for you AT ALL, they just want to steal your money.

We took a tour of this gym because we are new to the area. Pros: Hours and various equipment Cons: Location is shady and the parking is nonexistent. The gym was dirty and gross. The dance center was low quality and small. The front desk clerk was blah and it felt like a sales pitch. He even pulls us into a cubicle and shows us a paper with prices but quickly uses a marker to slash prices. 75-150 for an enrollment fee. No thanks!

The hours are not 24/7 for all the areas of the gym, but it is otherwise a pretty nice gym. No showers, but it does have a decent locker room. It has a nice women's fitness center but it is only open during normal business hours so if you like to work out in the morning you can't use it.
