Absolutely amazing staff and awesome place to work out. I've been training twice a week with Tad Larkins since Jan, 2016. He's totally hilarious and knows how to keep you motivated no matter what. I had a serious ankle injury and we worked together so that I could continue my workouts. He works around my full time student and full time work schedules, and never gets mad when I have to reschedule.

My absolute favorite gym in the area. I have been here for over 4 years and couldn't be happier. Our staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Our trainers get our clients some of the best results I've seen. It is a family friendly environment but has all the equipment you need as a serious athlete. There have been so many updates in the last 6 months and our members are super excited about them. Give us a call or stop in see us. I like that there is a whole upstairs corner just for women like me who are beginning workouts and the classes they offer are so great for relieving some stress or having some downtime, such as in the yoga classes they offer at very convenient times of the week! There are also multiple locations so you can bounce around and see which location best suits you. I just recently became a member and I have enjoyed training at this gym so far. It is clean, organized, and full of plenty of equipment. The staff are also very polite and professional. Quite a few treadmills seem to be out-of-order, but things like that just happen over time. The atmosphere feels very welcoming to people of all ages and health status. I know a lot of negative attention has revolved around the company, but it seems that has ended. My contract is simple and I have yet to experience any shady incidents.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. I was basically tricked into a contract that I did not know about. First off, I "won" a two-year membership at a Griffins game. At this time, I didn't know much about Family Fitness before I went into this gym. I should have done my research before even setting foot in this gym. Mainly every review I read of the company was terrible, not just this location. I've heard of many people getting conned into this "free membership." I already had a membership at the time, but I'm a broke college student, so I'm obviously looking for the cheapest membership. I was helped by a girl who told me all of the benefits of the gym, and that it would cost $15 a month. There was no paperwork, nothing in front of me to read or sign. I asked if I could think about it and get back to her. She said no, if I leave I will lose this "amazing opportunity." I should have seen that as a sign. I ended up signing up for this cheap two year membership, not knowing this was a contract that couldn't be broken. This was never spoken of. I thought I was paying month-by-month. She told me there was a fee for the access card, which is understood. I ended up paying $30 while I was there. $15 for my first month, $15 for the access card. I signed on the pin pad for my card that I just charged. I ended up working out there (which I should have done first before signing up for any membership at all.) This place is garbage. It's not clean, the "women's" area is the size of a closet. I just hated the atmosphere and I had a really bad feeling about the entire place. The staff wasn't very nice at all. The tanning beds were gross. I left there thinking, what did I just do?? I ended up calling the next day to cancel my membership. They told me to email corporate. So, I did just that. They told me since I was bound to a two-year contract, that I would have to pay the full amount of $360 to cancel my membership. I pretty much had a heart attack. CONTRACT? What?? I was never told about this, I never read a single piece of paper showing I signed up for this, the signature I gave I THOUGHT was for my card that I just charged. I couldn't believe it. I tried to fight it. I contacted my brother who's a lawyer, and there was nothing to be done. They ended up emailing me this contract that I never saw when signing up for this garbage membership. My signature was right at the bottom. I was stuck. I ended up paying for a whole year and not going there ONE single time. I just canceled the membership this morning and paid $150 to cancel. Hey, I saved $30! Please, don't let them fool you. I have no idea how this company is still running. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau and I'm hoping they can do something about this scheming company.

Aaron is an outstanding manager, I am 50 years old with a back injury. Aaron welcome me with open arms and was happy to show me around. He set me up with a trainer right away to help me to get my back back in to shape so I can get back to work. The equipment is top notch, and they have enough heavy duty treadmills for heavier individuals like my self (298 lbs) the treadmills at most gyms keep popping fuses when I use them, I have had no problems at all. If you like the machines over free weights they have every kind you will ever need if not two of them. If you are more of a free weight person they have all the right equipment you will ever need, basically thay have everything you need and the last thing is (which I find important ) the other customers there are friendly and nice and willing to help if you need it, even at 4:00 am, yes also they are open 24 hours.

Very friendly and helpful staff. They put in a stair master after I asked for one, which was great! Plenty of free weights and lots of cardio machines. Some of the equipment is "older" but still works well. Always very clean and the locker rooms are large and clean. Chris Johnson is always willing to go above and beyond when I ask him for help or advice! Very affordable prices.

As an avid competitor in the gym with challenging myself to always be better....over 20 years experience in the gym....hands down...Family Fitness on 4 mile off Alpine Ave in Walker, Michigan holds a top notch standard for greatness with their frontline of amazing staff members who always have a smile on their face along with a very open minded attitude to help out. Wifi doesn't work half the time, over crowded in the evenings, certain equipment only available during restricted desk hours. Also the reviews are inflated due to contest give aways for leaving false positive reviews. Addressed my concerns with the staff and was treated very rudely. Once you are in your contract, you are stuck so they do not care about good customer service or happy gym memebers after they have you locked into a contract

Hey just want everyone to be aware, that you CANNOT CANCEL here unless you pay out your year. No matter if someone in the home loses a job and you can't afford it or if you break a leg and can't use the gym anymore. They will keep charging you. Cancelling your card is required to make it stop. I have never experienced this before, TERRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICE.

I've been a member now for 5 months now. Gym is super cool with two floors, people are really nice there. Maggie at the front desk is super helpful with anything you need and they have tons of trainers there for all your needs. I'd recommend beginners to go there for sure.

This gym is a complete and utter scam. When I joined, I asked about the lawsuit they had against them, and OF COURSE they blamed it on the people complaining, or saying that people quit half way and wanted their money back. That is a straight out lie, I am now going through a similar situation. When signing up, I signed up for the FULL benefits including locker (which Maggie confirmed when she signed me up, and even yesterday). Somehow another employee Aaron didn’t believe that was the case, even after confirming with Maggie. I come back from work travel and not being able to go to the gym for a couple months, and my lock isn’t on my locker along with everything in it ($200 Cardillo belt worth more than the membership, Nike gym shoes and many other items). Upon talking to Maggie, she said she has no idea what happened and remembers talking to Aaron telling him I had that locker. After talking to Aaron, his exact response is “it is what it is, and I’ll see you if you come workout” and hangs up!!! Again, BEWARE, this is not one of those reviews that is empty, how they would most likely want you to believe as I had believed as well.

I use this gym regularly it is both convenient in location and very accessible with open floor plan. The gym has all my needs from Spin bikes and treadmills to free weights and machines. The training personnel at the gym is incredibly friendly and fun to work with. Ashley was very informational and extremely friendly and helpful.

All the staff that I have met at Family Fitness of Alpine have been phenomenal. The gym has a great atmosphere. The trainers that I have met have been super friendly. Also, I can't say enough good things about Chad Curtis, the director of personal training, at least I think that's his title. I have met with him multiple times, and he is awesome. He definitely knows his stuff, and it shows when you just looks at the guy. He is totally willing to set anyone up with the trainer and training plan that they need to achieve their fitness goals. From fitness to nutrition, he is the one that I go to for help and advice that I need. Do yourself a favor and check them out.

I really like Family Fitness. They're open 24 hours, so I'm able to get in there before work at 5am. There's a lot of space and a bunch of different machines. They've got showers which is a plus. My personal trainer is awesome. Her name is Keisha. She makes you feel comfortable while still pushing you. She'll answer any questions you have and always remind you to call if you need anything. She's a great person to have on your side during your weight loss journey.

I really like this location, but I like most of the locations that are available. They are 24/7 which helps me get my workouts in because my sleep schedule is all over the place with work. The staff is always friendly to my GF and I. They also accommodated a short term membership for us because we were placed in the area temporarily for work. The atmosphere is the best, I like the old style gyms, where people are there to work hard and you get that vibe when you walk in the door. Happy we found this place.

Also I enjoy the Zumba classes there on every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.They offer different fitness programs for people with different interests. The gym offers 24/7 access, tanning, kids daycare, training, group classes, free weights, machines, cardio, a salon, and much more! There is even a protein/smoothie bar. The staff there is great! I love this gym! I think it's great that they offer childcare services while you're working out, and they are great with our kids. It has a real gym atmosphere to at as opposed to previous gyms I have had a membership to in the past. There are always classes going on if that is more your style. Do not go to this gym. The 5 star reviews they have were all done for a discount on gym memberships. They have over 100 complaints with the Better Business Bureau and are built around contracts that are very expensive to cancel. When you arrive you are forced on a tour and then the manager will use high pressure sale tactics to attempt to get you to sign a contract. The gym is not well kept, the machines are not in good condition, and the staff are completely uncaring.

Aaron and his staff run a great gym. This is a gym for most anyone, whether you've been training seriously for a long time or are just getting started. They just got new equipment as well. They also have a nice boxing room with six different bags. Based on what's been said about the place, I'd have to disagree. If you're looking to avoid hassles with recurring monthly charges, just buy a six month or year membership up front. There's no chance of any confusion that way. I've been a member three years now and it's by far the best gym I've ever trained at.

Hands down, this gym is absolutely fantastic. I have gone to a few gyms and this is by far the all around best gym I have ever been to. Not only do they have all the equipment and room you could need, but their staff and trainers are some of the most genuine, friendly, and motivating people. I love attending the cardio and strength training classes taught by Sandie. She has a great attitude, is very personable and knowledgeable about how to get a good hard workout in without getting injured. The gym is pretty clean. I also really appreciate Ms. Julie who runs the child-care. She is excellent with my son, and the other children. Julie is very caring and goes above and beyond in taking care of the children. I appreciate the fact that they have child-care, it makes getting a workout in, much less complicated.

Love this place! Open 24hrs which is very convenient, since I work irregular hours. Unlimited tanning is huge. Massage, yoga classes, and a great salon for a quick clean haircut. Chris and the rest of the staff are consistently very helpful, and happy to see us when we arrive.

Elite Fitness has been great to me. I've always been welcomed by friendly staff who share my enthusiasm to work out. They are not just employees, but fellow gym members. The staff have always worked with me to give me the best service they could. Even when the cost of membership went up and even though my contract had expired, I was still billed the lower rate. Once, my friend and I showed up on labor day, because we thought it was open reduced hours instead of not at all. When we found that the gym was closed, the owner of the gym opened the doors up and let us work out while he did some paperwork for about an hour. Elite Fitness is a company that values their customers and it shows. The gym itself is a tad small, but packed full of equipment. There are loads of free weights as well as weight machines, including treadmills, stair climbers, and other aerobic exercise machines. There is also a small gym area with a punching back and some step-boxes that I've used for core exercises. The locker room is also a tad small, but never really that busy. I've not personally used the showers, but the bathrooms are clean. I've had to cancel my membership due to lack of funds to have any gym membership. I emailed them at the email provided on their website and they were quick to respond with instructions and information, such as the 30 day cancelation notice and my ability to use the gym during that time. I highly recommend this gym.

Family Fitness has an awesome staff. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. The gym is always clean and equipped with towels for during your workout as well as for showering. The trainers are pretty awesome as well. If it wasn't for Keisha, I wouldn't be losing the weight and toning up the places I want to tone. Worst customer service experience. After moving out of town I tried to cancel my membership. Then I learned that I had signed up for a 2 year membership and there is a 150 dollar cancellation fee. Fair enough, I should have paid closer attention and read the fine print. But the customer service rep that handled the cancellation was awful at handling my request. I would not recommend this place. Sub par on all fronts.

I've been going to the gym for two years and so far it has been nothing but pleasant experiences. The staff is always very helpful, and the fellow gym goers are very welcoming. Plus they make amazing protein shakes and have scoops of pre-workout available if you didn't bring your own. The entire gym, including the locker rooms, are very well maintained.

This is the biggest ACTUAL gym in the area! They have great equipment and an awesome staff! I always see Jason at the front and he is great at figuring out classes/ personal trainers that are right for you to better your lifestyle. Keisha is my personal trainer and she is great! She set up a great plan to meet my goals and is on top of her scheduling to always makes time to meet when we need to. Between the staff and the equipment and the size of the place it would be hard to go anywhere else!

Watch out for this company. The conversations and the contracts do not line up. Please read their contracts thoroughly before getting involved with them. Sadly, I along with hundreds of others have fallen victim to this place. It is the exact opposite of "Family". The Michigan Attorney General had to file a cease and desist order against them for their contracts. If i could rate a 0 star I would. This is for all Family Fitness facilities.

I would tell anyone who asks for a gym recommendation to stay away from this place. There is a reason the AG was called upon because of the employees, mostly the sales staff. The short personal trainer wrote my friend up for a full year when she wanted just a couple months. Also I had to stay at this gym for three whole years because I was signed up for a contract for longer than I asked by the manager with tattoos who only cares to talk to you when you are looking to sign up. Stay away from this place and if they call you telling you that you won a membership just hang up and save yourself the trouble.

When I first posted about this gym, I wasn't sure how I was going to like it. I just knew the staff was phenomenal with the care and attention of the guests. After going for a while now, I could not be more happy with the choice of making Alpine Family Fitness my gym. Not only is my trainer Derick pushing me in my workouts, other staff members at the gym will say very supportive and motivating things to me as well. If i have a question I can text my trainer. If i need to reschedule, just ask. The members here truly are concerned for your physical and emotional well being. If you want a gym where the members will celebrate your victories , this is perfect for you. As for the establishment, the gym is kept clean at all times. The convenience of 24 hrs is great , no need to make changes with your daily schedule, just come at your leisure. They have an array of equipment you can use; from cardio, to cables, to free weights, to heavy bags, you name it they probably have it. Other services at family fitness include; massage, tanning, classes (yoga/zumba/cycling) and even hair salon. This has been a great investment for my confidence! Being a student I was looking for a gym that would be affordable and work with my schedule. This gym has been both. The gym has a lot of quality cardio machines and weights. There are plenty of extra weights and machines which makes it easier to get a good workout without the wait. The gym is also really clean and there is usually a staff member cleaning every time I am there. I am greeted by an employee every time I walk in. Overall I am very satisfied with this gym and would recommend it to others.

Hi! my name is Linda, I have been a member at Family Fitness of Alpine since December 2016. I have to say for me personally that working out and tanning at Family Fitness has made a world of a difference for me. I lost my daughter last August and became severely depressed, and stopped taking care of myself. My gym family has assisted me in regaining my confidence and I now have my great love of life back, and most importantly my sense of hope has returned. At age 61 my main concern is healthy cardiovascular and muscle tone. After 6 months of working out I have a much more firm physique then I did when I was 30 and I'm smiling again! I feel so healthy!
