I can not say enough good things about the facility however the customer service of the staff from the front desk to the managers leave much to be desired. Whether I was asking for help changing a TV or if I needed help locating a piece of equipment it was always an issue. The spa and sauna was consistently down for maintence. Any time I brought up an issue their solution was to bribe me with LT bucks. I gave them notice of cancellation 10 days into the month and they still tried to charge my account for an additional month which I easily thwarted. Overall great location convientient to a lot of things poor staff and deplorable customer service make the 130+ dollars a month not worth it.

I joined Lifetime after a friend's encouragement and have been pleasantly surprised! Love that it's so family friendly and the zumba classes are amazing!!!! The facilities are always clean and the cafe's staff is very accommodating plus the food is the best! Love the dodge bowl, not super keen on the smoothies. I'm not a typical gym person but lifetime has got me hooked!

An incredible place

Attended a few times by now and decided to become a member. The facility is very clean and the staff couldn’t be nicer and friendlier. So far so good.

Very friendly staff and excellent activities for our kids. The pool staff have been great with our kids swimming lesson. Overall great club

Disappointing how one hour to play basketball with a guest would cost $30... included in our membership is bringing a guest once every 60 days and this is corporate America. "Well, there's restrictions and not in summer" always have loop holes. My friend drove up from the Cape and then they tried charging me $30 for an hour of hoops. Not good business

Sarkis Chekashkin

Great place for reasonable price but not perfect. In the men locker room some people have a 0 appreciations. They are using towels not one or two per person, 3,4 even 5 which they leaves everywhere. Those mather_fa... have 0 respect to the others like those who left ☆ not 2, 3 or 4 one! For them this place something like a hell which is not true and you guys definitely not deserve it that kinda BS! Please put some instructions for those animals how to properly need to use towels: just 2 towels per person or please animals throw towels to the basket or something like that... because it's nasty when you see that and sad who we are. No one use as many at home. We don't deserve a something better, because we don't appreciate what we already have...

Nice club but not a fan of the kids camp at all. Thats what happens when high school kids watch your kids. So happy school started and camp is over

I used to be a member and did love the classes but hated the corporate run around/switching policies etc so i left. However I still wanted to come to lifetime events and willing to pay for them if they are open. I had signed up for the 2019 indoor tri and called because my credit card wasn't going through on the website. Do you want to know how long it has taken me to resolve getting registered???? Forever! I'm still trying to register after leaving 1000 messages for activities center front desk etc. Please get your customer service act together. I still have not registered. I even paid the club q visit and the activities wasn't there. The front desk told me they would call me next day. Did they??? No. But I expected. This.

The staff is friendly but no one here seems to really take ownership. Went for a birthday party and arrived right when it was supposed to start and got the run around with no clear directions from anyone. The place looked good so can’t speak for other comments on here but the little interaction I had was not inspiring.

Trista Jade Freytag

Iv been to a lot of locations of lifetime and I like them a lot but this location is one location that I’m not super pleased with going to all the time. A lot of the people are rude and not helpful at all.

I used to be a member and convinced half of my family and friends to join. I even convinced my personal trainer to switch from Equinox to Life Time Athletic. That's how much I used to love this place. Anyways I cancelled my membership due to travelling a lot because I never have the time to use it but I was looking forward to things slowing down so I can join again. Last month my partner asked me to cancel my plans and join her for the outdoor pool using one of her guest pass. I asked her to call and confirm just in case something have changed. The lady on the phone she assured us that it will be free using one of my partners guest pass. After 30 minutes of driving we finally got there just to be told by this young gentleman that I have to pay $40. I explained the situation and the lady in the front desk did admit she told us otherwise. The gentleman didn't know what to do so he nicely asked us to wait while he address this to his manager. The manager told him that he doesn't have time for this and he can't make any exceptions since its the weekend knowing that we were misinformed. The front desk felt terribly for us and apologized. I understand mistakes can happen but to be treated poorly that I didn't understand. Mind you my partner has a diamond membership which considered top of the line for Lifetime. I asked to speak to the manager in person. He finally came out after we waited for him for a while. He was so annoyed that he had to step out of his office and was VERY VERY VERY rude. He didn't bother to apologize. He kept talking on top of me repeating the same phrase. He refused to listen to us. He was a complete JERK. My partner wanted to pay but of course I refused. Definitely not after the way we were treated. We started walking away from the desk and we could hear him making jokes about how people want things for free.. SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I might not be able to convince my partner to cancel since she likes the location in Chestnut Hill but I'll make sure all my family and friends do.

It's a destination gym/country club. Staff and leadership have created a place where you actually want to go. That's saying a lot for someone who hates working out. :)

We joined Lifetime a year ago and our family has loved it. It was good then, but it is even better now. I have been very impressed with all aspects of Lifetime. My kids love going to the kids academy, I love the variety of classes they offer, the changing rooms/bathrooms/showers are the cleanest I have ever seen at any gym (and I've been to a lot to compare) and their equipment is topnotch with great variety. The new manager has raised the bar with higher expectations of the staff, along with hiring new quality staff that meet his standards. I am someone who watches leadership and staff on a daily basis. An organization will be great if it starts from the top down. You learn greatness from your leaders. I have seen a lot of improvement with Lifetime Westwood and I believe it's because of great leadership in the past year. Just last week, I met the manager of the new Metro West location who was taking time to inspect all of the Westwood location to give a new set of eyes and notice things that others might not see. He said that he and the Westwood manager do that for each other so they can improve their facility to make it better. That's great leadership. This week, I stopped at the Activities desk to ask a question and the gentleman there knew me by my first name, without looking at any screen or my card. I complimented him on remembering my name, because I was so surprised he remembered it! I didn't remember his name! That's highly valuing your guests. That takes a lot of mental discipline and taking notice of detail. Another trainer complimented me last week on how I'm training. It wasn't even my personal trainer. I definitely don't see them or talk to them on a daily basis, but they went out of their way to notice that I'm working hard and wanted me to know they noticed. That's going beyond your job description. My kids are often referred to by their first name as well, without the staff looking at their sticker or the screen, because the staff in the kids academy do their job at learning the kids' names. No place is perfect, but this Lifetime comes pretty close. Thank you Lifetime for being a very enjoyable place for my family. Our health and fitness are of high importance to our family and we love being part of a place that values it as much as we do, on every level.

Anthony Belisle

I feel at this price point the gym should be pretty close to perfect but at times I notice the locker rooms not being clean and missing equipment when comparing to other locations. The staff can be very stand-offish as well which just confuses me for the price point. The Framingham facility is newer and is better I. These areas.

Roberto Cuervo

Simply amazing!!! It's a nice place to train!!

Yolo altamirano

I love this gym since I do have kids and love that they offer a variety of classes, kids also are paying costumers so I dont know why all those comments are about, simple you dont like kids go to another gym

Charles Secord

2 things. First I’ve been a member since the westwood gym open. And the weight area is a mess. And the men’s locker room is no bargain either. Second half the time when you scan in it doesn’t record so when i turn it in to my insurance company I don’t have enough visits. And i go almost every day. I don’t understand how the $10 a month gyms can get it right but life time can’t. Also there has been broken glass in the parking lot for 2 months

The kids academy was not what I expected. We cancelled the membership because of this and my daughter (3) hates it. She loves preschool, dance and gymnastic so it's not her. She is in tears when I pick her up, one time they called me because she was so upset and she told me I don't like those ladies. This is usual for her so we aren't going back. We only used kids academy 3 times with her.oh and then there was the hand food and mouth incident where I asked them about it and they said that there was no cases so I left my infant there come to find out they knew about several cases. THANK GOD SHE DIDNT GET IT

Customer Service needs improvement. Try to get a simple billing adjustment almost seems like one needs to go to congress. Also notice a high turnover of employees especially since the other locations opened up. Seems Westwood gets the shaft. New isn't always better. Just saying.

Initially, when the club first opened there were some issues that made it less than what it purported to be. Now, with new management the club has totally transformed itself in my opinion. The most important factor for me is that the GM has done his best to listen to member feedback. Of course, the best part of the club are the instructors, my personal favorites are Sam, Krista, Petra and Laurie. Sean in sales is super, I can't say enough about him. Overall, definitely worth the money $$.

Chris Godfrey

Friendly staff and top shelf facilities.

Eddie Iliescu

What is a very clean and well presented organization isn’t what it appears to be. Yes, the facility is top notch, but it is a giant, greedy business. The equipment is new, and nice - but nothing out of this world that other gym's, for a quarter of the price, don’t offer. Honestly, my favorite part was the locker room and shower…which I rarely used. Yoga classes started off well, but then all the preferred classes would no longer be available. I went for my “free” personal training session only to get a tour of the gym and learn how the equipment works. I received a tour before signing up and am fully aware of how the equipment works, this isn’t my first gym either. She honestly was just milking the time. I tried to make it clear to the woman that I just wanted tips and for her to show me some routines - instead she asked me to do lunges, squats, and push ups to see my form. Then she tried to sell me on overpriced supplements which have an unappealing look (yes go back to your old design because the new one isn’t going to sell) so she can get commission. So practically, I received no training whatsoever and she wasted my time completely just to give me a salesman pitch on their supplements. To continue, you get 12 guest passes - I’m sorry, prospect passes*. Yes prospect passes, because logically, a guest is allowed whenever they are invited…right? WRONG, at lifetime the same guest may only come once, every TWO MONTHS. Thus, prospect passes. They’d like you to bring 12 different people so that they have 12 opportunities to make…let’s say three of them…members. After I accepted the fact that they do all they can to milk every cent possible, I no longer wish to remain a member and will go back to my less intense, and cozier $20/mo gym and save myself the $120/mo… $1,440/yr and treat myself. Obviously if money is no issue to you, this post isn’t for you. However, if you’re an individual of principal and respect, it very well may be. On a positive note, I’ve met some very nice individuals there, and they maintain everything properly.

Ashley Renouf

Had an issue with billing and they charged me a fee that I never signed correct form for that fee and they refused to fix it for $10 they way they treated me and didn't have the correct form signed was not fair , also the group classes on week day mornings just get to busy 80% of time .

Excellent club

Josh Pfieffer

The facilities are very nice but the lack of any kind of good customer service is unreal!! I cancelled my membership end of January but the club continued to charge my card. I've now been on the phone with these people 4-5 times just for them to tell me they aren't going to give me a refund because they don't have any record of my cancelation. So because of this places incompetence I am out two months of membership fees. Real professional.

It is awesome

The place is super clean compared to most gyms I’ve been too. Not sure what these past reviews are about !?! Crazy

Very clean facility with a wide range of classes. Lovely staff.

I was among the first to join this gym when it opened in 2015 and initially loved it. The brand new facility was shiny and clean, there were huge workout spaces, beautiful swimming pools, and spotless locker rooms. There is no question that this was, and still is, one of the nicest looking gyms in the area. However, over the past three years my positive feelings for this place have been completely eroded owing to the rude staff of the Westwood gym and the ridiculous policies of Lifetime Fitness Corporate. Quite simply, I don’t enjoy working out here. Considering the relatively high membership dues and joining fees, this is probably the worst value I’ve ever gotten in my life-- for anything. Where do I begin? 1. Policies are not transparent- Upon joining I was told I could put my membership on hold for just $10 a month. At a certain point I placed my membership on hold, but was shocked to notice several months later that they had actually extracted $30 per month from my account for this privilege – and without any warning about raising the price! Their reason was? Lifetime was losing too much money due to members suspending their memberships. What kind of BS reason is that to not honor their original commitment to me? 2. Relentless sales pitch- Trainers work on a commission basis. So if they think you might sign up with them, you are their very best friend in the world. When it’s clear you’re not going to pay their exorbitant personal training fees, you might as well be dead. Free training sessions are one interminable sales pitch. In general everything is geared towards extracting maximal money from the patrons- there are extra charges for everything. 3. Must love kids- screaming, entitled kids- and lots of them. Basically this is a gym for kids, especially during the summer when the outdoor pool is packed with the leaky swim diaper crowd. Rules about kids in the locker rooms and spa areas are not enforced, rendering these areas off limits to adults seeking relaxation. The outdoor pool, one of the main reasons I joined this gym, is pretty much unusable for regular swimmers during peak times. “Fecal event” closures are not uncommon, meaning you’ll never want to put your face in that water. 4. Equipment reserved for special classes- Members pay for wide variety of extra classes, which entitles them to restrict access to large swaths of gym equipment and space for the duration of the class. It’s so frustrating to arrive at the gym with a particular work out plan in mind, and then be chased off of one piece of equipment after another by "athletes" signed up for one of these group classes. Not to mention that most of the classes involve blaring obnoxious music superimposed on the already loud obnoxious (and perpetual) Lifetime Fitness Corporate soundtrack. 5. Lifetime Spa and Café- Your time will not be respected in the hair salon. Although the prices were reasonable, I often waited anywhere from 10 minutes to 1 hour (yes- one hour!) for my appointment. In the Café they charge you extra for substitutions that don’t make any difference to their egregiously inflated profit margin. Bottom line- I wish I hadn't joined this gym. The people are fake and I really got tired of the pervasive used car salesman vibe. It wasn’t a pleasure to exercise here. I stopped my membership and I’m now much happier (and fitter) after joining another gym.

purplecupcakexo

I love it here, but its definitely not perfect. There's everything you could possibly want: weights, cardio machines, pool, sauna/steam room, yoga studio, spin class, pilates, and lots of free classes. The reason for only 3 stars is if you're interested in personal training, the turnover rate here is quite high. Trainers on average only seem to last a year, if that. Also if you sign up for something or need to get in contact with somebody, good luck. Make sure you get people's personal numbers cause if not, you will get the runaround trying to get in contact with them. Also, there are a lot of children here. At times when its slow I see children on the workout floor, but that is just an accident waiting to happen. It can get very crowded here as well. Overall, I'm happy with Lifetime and I don't plan on going anywhere else in the area.

Torn for the review. On one hand the facilities are great, things are clean and people are helpful and friendly. On the other it's just way too expensive unless you have a big family as membership fee is on a decreasing scale with more members in the same group.

Overall can be a good place but some of the staff need lessons on coummication. Rules changed, members not notified, staff then confronts (not discuss but confronts) members when unknown rules are broken. Also, they have a seating issue poolside. Instead of making more seats available the issue gets solved by heavily regulating usage. My thoughts if I am paying for four on my account then all four should be allowed to sit poolside. The limit is two chairs per account. This is strictly enforced but safety issues of parents letting young ones who can't swim be in the pool alone and those in diapers not in swim diapers as required are ignored. They've had one death poolside in the first year of being opened. At least once a day the pool gets closed due to a child having a accident in the pool.

Aalem M

The gym is great. However, the shower and lockers should be more clean. What I can’t stand the most about the Westwood location is that..if you leave an item, the staff will tell you they can’t find it. I have been going there since they had opened and lost 5 items and never was I able to retrieve it. Even as small as a wast-trainer that I had accidentally mixed up w/ the towels and placed in the dirty rack. The staf had told me “ they can’t find it”.

Lisa Velasquez

Very clean facility, friendly staff, home away from home environment, love it!

Chris Yuan

As a swimmer the lap pool was most important to me. They care more about the kids lessons than actual paying customers. After work for example prime time at 6:30 many of the lanes are taken up by small children using just 1/3 of the entire lane. They have a kids pool, but of course that is not used for lessons. The pool staff also have no control over people just standing in the lanes. More people walk around the lap pool for physical therapy rather than actually swim. The pool is also super dirty. Close your mouth when underwater or you will get some random persons hair in your mouth. Service is terrible, good luck trying to get in touch with someone the first time you call.

MAR Daoud

My first visit told the monthly member fee is $150 and that's it. Then on the registration time I surprised that there's another $150 for registration fee + cancellation fee if I wish to cancel my membership!!!!! It's really scamming!!!!

Lanciano Transport LLC

40 bucks for a day pass they must be out their minds. La fitness dont even charge that much. What a rip off.

Alan Banks

Not sure what all the reviews below are all about. I see billing issues and other non-facility issues. Yes, the kids in the summer are loud and ubiquitous, but a pair of headphones and I'm good. Don't see the same issues of cleanliness than others do. Towels always stocked. The one issues I can't really comment on is staff. Not sure if I even got my initial consultation. But, don't go looking for a sales pitch and you won't get one. That's just experience. Like a "free" dance lesson.

The facilities are excellent however, the customer service and staff is horrible. As a member I do not feel that my business is valued and I sense an attitude and an offensive standoffishness and pompous manner by a lot of the staff. Very protocol oriented with an unbending attitude to members paying premium prices. One should not need to set up an app to register for classes when they are paying high monthly fees. The facility is world class unfortunately the staff is extremely subpar which unacceptable since membership fees are among the highest in the industry. As a result I have canceled my membership!!!!

Laura Fritz

I love life time it always sparkling clean Something brakes they fix it . Very friendly staff always willing to help. Great group ex inductors the best in area only down is the he price but lifetime gives you what you pay for

Way way way too expensive.

elle bee

Horrible customer service. Locker room is disgusting. And I'm pretty sure there shouldn't be kids running around at night...

Kathleen Frisbie

It is so so frustrating that there are no pilates, barre or yoga classes for people who work. Would it be possible to add some at 7:30 or 8:00 AM? That way folks who have to work can enjoy the club as well.

David Wu

(Translated by Google) Very good fitness center, business hours are longer, the front desk staff here is very friendly, if they have a weekly event on the first floor will be better! I will choose here! (Original) 非常不错的健身中心,营业时间比较长,这里的前台人员非常友善,如果他们在一楼会有每周的活动介绍会更好!我会选择这里!

Poor Customer Service when asked how to cancel my membership. They were very frustrated that I had questions and was transferred 2 times. A couple of the trainers were great too bad the overall customer service was awful.

Sean Bryan

The only downfall of lifetime is that there are no racquetball courts. It can be a great in-house sport for members, additional income and advertising when the national association is looking for locations for tournaments, and it's a sport that can be played at almost any age.

SSG Pools

Life Time Athletic has a friendly staff and outstanding facilities. This is a place that truly believes in offering their guests the best experience possible. We worked with their team in 2014 to create a positive aquatic venue and would highly recommend them to anyone!

The club is filthy I’ve been a member since 2015 the club is only three years old and it looks like it’s 20 years old. I’ve complained several times to the GM and to corporate to No avail. And for those of you who are members , they are increasing the rates by $10 a month. This is not warranted. A family of four is 325 a month. That is a high price to pay for a facility that smells like urine and is not kept clean. Here are pictures of all the bathrooms. And a picture of the hair balls which are all over the studios. I’ve sent these to member services and the GM over a week ago and nothing has been done.

Chris Briggs

What a beautiful pool and great night in July! Too bad the pool is closed again, because it rained 6 hours ago!

Audrey Orenstein

Lifetime is getting better all the time. I worked long and hard with the director of classes to see if I could get my favorite activity taught at the club and while it took months to get through the system, I got the class I requested. My next request is for more 7 am classes, but there is lots to do at 6 am and then again starting at 8 am. 7 am would be nice for people who clock in to work at 9 nearby. The club is clean and the fitness people seem knowledgable and helpful.

The young guy who is in charge of pool side customer service today (10/8) was rude, impatient, ignorant and full of himself. I am seriously considering canceling my entire family's memberships after today's experience. These fellows need serious trainings.

Cc Corr

I can only comment on the outside pool, as I've not done inside workouts ---- It's a CESSPOOL!!! Always closed for "fecal incidents". Who was the genius that thought attaching the baby pool with the rest of the pool was a brilliant idea? Both the inside pool and outside pool are attached to the baby pool. I only hope that during the off season, they confine the baby pool from the rest of the pool. ---- The outside bathrooms are atrocious!! It reeks of urine (this is the ladies room). They put in a fan and an air freshener to solve the stench aroma.. ---- The outside patio/chair area is too small for the amount of clients they have. There are not enough lounge chairs. There's a lack of umbrella for shade. I need to sit in shade due to my history of skin cancer. ---- The pool is obviously overcrowded and oversold, yet you see the salesmen walking around on tour with more family's! At what point Is enough enough??

I am a new lifetime member - I brought my wife with me on saturday to check out the club (I get two guest passes per month). The front desk person told me guest pass could not be used on the weekend -he tried to pull up the policy on my phone but could not find it. Seems like poor customer service and poor client satisfaction practice. For 150/month I would of expected better treatment of member and potential new member. Not a fan of the customer service at this branch.
