I will probably continue to bring my child because I value the physical activity and social environment provided by the little gym. However during our introduction class today, I was unfairly chastised by what I can only assume is the manager multiple other posts mention. We were having a good time, having done the tumbles and participated in every activity so far, during free time we went to play on the seesaw block and I went to take a photo to send to mom about how much fun he was having. At this point she walked in from the desk and said "(child's name) why arent you interacting with everyone?" Then turned to me and said "this isnt like some other places, we expect more parent involvement and hands on in this class!" This is the first time in any context I've ever been accused of not being involved and I believe it was an accusation made with zero observation by someone who had seen us for 20 minutes while she was at a front desk in another room! If she was concerned about our interaction level, she should have talked to the instructor who I believe would have supported that we were actually very involved and had participated in every activity or asked us how our experience was so far. We were making our way around the room exploring which is the goal of the exploration time I believed. We will continue to attend classes since my child thrived in the environment but I will forever feel watched and judged in this context instead of welcomed. If you're debating between two locations, I'd say go with the other one.
I’ve been bringing both my boys here since they were about 8 months (now 4 & 2 years old) and they absolutely loved this place. Melissa is fantastic and all the other teachers are so loving, you can really tell they love their jobs. My older son now does camp days & he loves this much more than the regular camp that was offered at his school! I would recommend this place to everyone! I saw so much development from both my boys, I attribute that to what the LG teaches them!
Our son has been going to The Little Gym of Germantown since he was 10 months old. It’s been fun to watch him learn & grow as he tries new things. He’s a high energy kid, so it’s also great to have an outlet for all that energy!
LOVE LOVE LOVE The Little Gym of Germantown! My daughter started in the Bugs class when she was just four months old. She’s now three, and still attending classes there and looks forward to going every week! The instructors are so amazing!!! The owner, Melissa, is the absolute best! We consider her family. My daughter recently celebrated her 3rd birthday at TLG of Germantown and it was perfect. The staff always goes above and beyond. We could not be happier with our experience, and I highly recommend TLG of Germantown to everyone I know!
The Little Gym has given my daughter confidence and a new found feeling of success.
Awesome!!!
My son loves the little gym! In the beginning he was shy and wouldn’t let go of my hand. Now he runs off to explore on his own with a big smile on his face. His confidence has grown tremendously and we have a great time each week learning something new. The obstacle set up’s are great and change weekly so the kids have something different to explore each time. Miss Allison is great! If your kid isn’t ready to try a new skill she doesn’t push it and I appreciate that. Keep up the good work!
I love the Little Gym!! I started my son at 6 months and now that he's over a year, I can see what a difference it's made! The teachers have helped expand my son's skills as he's growing and he absolutely loves going there! Miss Melissa also helped me out on a pinch for his birthday party... And I'm so happy it worked out! The kids had a great time and the leaders in charge of the party kept it moving right along! They set everything up, cleaned everything up, all while leading my son's 1st birthday party for 10 kids of all ages! Thank you Miss Melissa for helping me arrange his party! We had a great time!! I highly recommend the Little Gym of Germantown, not just for birthday parties, but as a weekly activity your children will love! And they get an opportunity to let out some energy while learning!!
Instructors are very patient with teaching students, especially ones who are new and have little or no developed skills yet.
The little gym staff is amazing. We have been coming to gym and music classes since my daughter was about 6 months (she is now 2). The staff is super attentive and takes the time to learn and work with your child’s needs to help them learn, develop and be comfortable. We have had a wonderful experience!
Fun approach to combining play with gymnastics techniques.
My daughter used to be very shy, extremely cautious and scared of everything when she started the gym 4 months ago. I started going to Little Gym of Germantown because my daughter seemed to feel at ease and seemed to enjoy it at the free trial class. I can see that she has improved in every aspect since we first joined the gym. She loves her teachers, loves going to the gym, and she is starting to try the things she hasn't tried before because she was scared. I also got to know my daughter very well by spending one-on-one time with her. I personally love the warm-up exercises, the teachers, and the fact that music is played throughout the session. I'd love to sign my daughter up for the fall classes, but I am very sad that none of the classes are on Wednesdays or Thursdays because those are the only days that I am off work. Improvements to suggest are having more variety of things during "explore" time such as a trampoline, a slide, or a ball pit (they have these at My Gym and my daughter really liked them). Nevertheless, my daughter and I really enjoyed our time at your gym and I look forward to joining again later!
This gym is nice, teachers in the gym have passion for what they do as well. However, one small size front desk lady is very rude. The way she talks and holds her eye contact makes me very uncomfortable and have almost cancelled my child enrollment. They send out extra free activity and invite us to the gym, when I get there, she told me I cant participate because my kid have already tried the introduction class. Then why would you send me invitation in the mail.
Great curriculum to share time with your little ones and let them learn with others.
Our teacher is a wonderful Christian lady. She truly cares about each kid. I can see her big smile when kids do a good job. I can see her worried eyes when kids are afraid of trying. She doesn't give up on any shy kids. My daughter is nervous to do some work, but she persevere to let her do it. You know what? My daughter did well with her help and love! I count it a blessing to meet our teacher in the little gym of Germantown. Many thanks!
I love The Little Gym, and my twins look forward to coming to class every week. The songs, activities, skill of the week, large space to run around, and socialization with other babies and parents has been great. I hope to continue classes as they get older.
My 2 girls who are 3 and 5 love The Little Gym. Ms. Katie and Ms. Melissa are awesome. They know each child by name as well as the parents. They are energetic and enthusiastic! My girls always look forward to their class days and never want to go home! Thanks for helping the "whole" child develop.
Is my second year going with my daughter with special needs to The Little Gym, we are always so happy to attend the classes, we feel very welcome and the teachers specially Mellisa are so nice! I highly recomend this place!
I love that this program provides flips and tumbles. It's what my daughter does around the house. I'm just glad that she's somewhere where she looks forward to going on her Saturday afternoons. I love that she's with other little girls her age. It's all fun and excitement when she's at The Little Gym!
We were very disappointed with our experience. It was our first day and my daughter wanted to leave the gym room in the middle of the class. She was afraid of doing some of the exercises as she has never done them before and needed a break. Melissa (who is the owner and was teaching that day) came our and practically demanded that my daughter return to the class. My child became anxious and grabbed onto me, and this lady tried to PULL my daughter from my hands! That was very rude and unexpected, my daughter began to cry. After that we decided that we will never return to this place. I understand that the teachers need to instill a certain level of discipline, but I would expect that if a parent decides that their child is not comfortable and wants to leave, their decision should not be debated by the staff.
We love TLG Germantown. Melissa is a fantastic owner, and keeps the gym in tip-top shape. It's been a lot of fun watching our little guys develop at TLG.
My almost two year old son has been taking classes at The Little Gym of Germantown for over a year. The teachers are very warm and friendly. The equipment is in great condition and the gym is always very clean. The classes are small enough for the children to get individual attention. The curriculum for the Bugs, Birds, and Beasts classes has appropriately challenged my son and is really fun for him. I've tried classes at a couple of other kids gyms in the area and I didn't think the curriculum for those classes were nearly as educational as The Little Gym or taught real and useful gymnastics techniques.
TLG was a favorite for my daughter when she was quite young so we naturally went back for my son! The staff are very understanding of the age groups and are incredibly flexible with their plans. I appreciate the time they take to get to know not only the students but the families as well!
The youngest class (Bugs) was great in helping my child learn to crawl and walk. The instructor was great keeping babies engaged with songs and activities.
